A gentle woman oft appearing distracted, though her eyes would tell otherwise.

Lyuri grew up in a happy and seemingly carefree environment, simply tagging along with her parents as they traveled the world of Eorzea. Abruptly orphaned at the age of 17, she wandered aimlessly with her best friend for a few weeks until the Calamity struck, at which point she simply dropped off the face of Eorzea until only about a year ago. Resurfacing in each of the three great city-states, Lyuri appeared to be alive and well, even recruiting to a cause.

Nowadays Lyuri heads the Eclipsis Free Company, which acts similar to an independent and more finely tuned adventurer's guild. On the surface it appears to be a regular place to hire workers from for different jobs. However, anyone with an onze of sense knows how it's nigh impossible to make it anywhere in Ul'dah without getting your hands somewhat dirty.

Information here may seem limited. This is intentional. Lyuri does not freely share intimate details about her life or history with people. Certain information and personal relationship information is ambiguous because it is not publicly discussed. Anything listed here is strictly OOC knowledge unless Lyuri has discussed it with your character in some manner.

Appearance

Lyuri stands slightly above the average height for a Midlander female. Her ocean blue hair carries light tones of green and is pulled back into a ponytail, while her bangs are pulled to the side and often obscure her right eye from view. She's found that this hairstyle generally leads to far less uncomfortable questions about her odd eyes. When she doesn't appear to be staring off into the distance, her expression is most often calm and reserved save for her eyes, which shift to catch every detail they can. One could easily describe Lyuri's outfits of choice as 'conservative'.

Lyuri often has a difficult time if she attempts to appear intimidating due to her merely average stature. Over the years, though, she's discovered that a smile can have just as much potential as a brandished weapon.

Eyes
Hair Skin Body Type Voice Clothing Notable Features
Left: Ice Blue, Right: Faded Black Ocean blue with soft green tones Pale Fairly average build for a Midlander. Her lack of apparent muscles has caused a few to misjudge her strength and speed. Soft, yet carries an assertive undertone Most often switches between casual and formal attire, all of it appearing rather conservative. She appears to be branching out a bit as of late. Her black iris quite often leaves people unsettled, curious, or both. She also carries a very faint mark upon her right cheek as well.

Behavior and Personality

When it comes down to business, Lyuri could best be described as softspoken yet unyielding. She will often try to spin deals and situations in a way that leaves the other participant(s) happy while still getting what she wants. Among good company, though, she swifty reveals a more playful nature involving cracking jokes and witty verbal jabs; when appropriate, of course.

With more personal matters such as those of the heart, Lyuri is still rather naive and finds herself easily flustered. As time goes by she's grown slightly more accustomed to these kinds of topics, but they do still leave her feeling at least slightly uncomfortable.

Recently, the stress that comes with her position has weighed rather visibly on Lyuri. As a result, her general demeanor has become more tense, and she's allowed her frustration and anger to get the better of her a few times. Each time she snaps at someone, she curses the turmoil in her life which she attributes the outbursts to.

Combat

Lyuri has always had an abnormally high amount of latent aether within her body, but the sheer amount makes it rather difficult to control. Early attempts to cast magic oft resulted in wounds, which were not always limited to herself. Due to these traumatic experiences, Lyuri chose to forsake more traditional magic use out of fear of hurting others unintentionally.

In her teenage years, she took up the sword under the tutelage of her father. Since the calamity passed, Lyuri has been known to seek out non-violent solutions to problems, though she understands that the world won't always work in her favor. As such, she keeps up her practice with the blade, albeit much less nowadays than before.

Lyuri's weapons of choice are two half swords, appearing as though a single blade were cut down the middle length-wise. Both blades are slightly shorter than your average longsword, and the absence of a back to each blade creates an elongated hole when the two are brought together. While they can function individually, the nature of their design makes them rather brittle.

While the strange design of her dual blades seems rather impractical, Lyuri works around this by channeling aether into the weapons as though they were foci. Doing so effectively seals the blades into a single sword, albeit temporarioly. With enough concentration, Lyuri can even give the aether, and thus the sword, elemental properties. However, she's only succeeded thus far at maintaining an ice element. Despite her aetheric reserves, these techniques can be extremely taxing so she will attempt to avoid prolonged battles.

Occupation, Skills, and Pastimes

Lyuri actively leads the free company Eclipsis, a job which takes up most of her time. She handles a majority of the company's busywork, business negotiations, and contract approvals. As such, she rarely, if ever, participates in the fulfillment of contracts herself.

Relationships

Family

It is rather rare for Lyuri to bring up her family as their mention alone causes a pained look upon her face. When asked about them by others, she will often act evasive, only truly discussing them with those she's come to trust.

Father: Godfrey Loneslayer (Highlander) - A man known for his calm ferocity. His softspoken words and gentle demeanor conflicted greatly with the ruthlessness he showed in combat. His friends would make jokes about how the only weapon to ever pierce his steel will was the smile of a certain Lyndis Felnica. As they traveled, Lyuri almost never saw her father without his sword and shield. Presumed to have died alongside Lyndis.

Mother: Lyndis Felnica (Midlander) - Her smile more infectious than any plague, Lyndis practically epitomized the phrase "happy-go-lucky". She was ever kind to others, preferring to tend to others' wounds rather than join the fray herself. Lyndis perished about six months before the calamity. Lyuri's fondest memories of her are when she would tell fantastical stories before bedtime.

Best Friend: Jayce Bellveil (Midlander) - A boy of Lyuri's age, Jayce ran away from his home (at least, that was the story he gave). After a year or two of life as a street rat, he met Lyuri and the two became fast friends, Thanks to Lyuri's incessant begging, Godfrey and Lyndis eventually gave in and semi-adopted the boy into their family. In reality, he was just one more person tagging along on all their travels.

Player Character Relationships

Romantic Interest     Sexual Desire     Platonic Love      Good Standing     Neutral Standing     Poor Standing    ! Recent Standing Change
It's possible for someone to be on a positive side and be neutral and a negative side and be neutral. Think alignments. Also always capable of changing.

Positive Standing

Laeka Torei: She does what she wants without really caring about what others think. Part of Lyuri admires the woman, but her admiration is marred by her frustrations at Laeka's long absences. Chokho Viqqoh : Still a bit of a mystery, Lyuri fails to understand just what drives this woman. What she does know is that Cho's humor often leaves much to be desired, though she can't quite bring herself to grow truly frustrated with her. Something about that carefree attitude speaks to her.
Ennara Calian : There was a time when Lyuri and Ennara appeared to be near inseparable. However, what was once a friend openness between them has dwindled to more of a guarded and awkward cautiousness. While Lyuri still considers her a friend, she can't be sure the Highlander woman does the same. Skratti Bowens : Being rather new to Eclipsis means little with Skratti as she's already proven herself to be smart, resourceful, and an invaluable asset. Lyuri holds her doubts as to the woman's true skills and how she comes across the information she does, but at this point it seems far wiser to not look a gift chocobo in the beak.
Roswyn Valhuri : - The pink-haired Miqo'te woman honestly reminds Lyuri of herself at times, and it frustrates her to no end. Regardless, Lyuri knows that Roswyn's resources and contacts make her far more desirable as an ally, even if she can be rather unpredictable at times. She thinks of Roswyn as a friend, but deigns to tread carefully around her when possible. Orpheus Arkouda : - Lyuri knows very little about this man apart from the fact that he always seems to be by Roswyn's side. After observing his actions as both a ruthless fighter and a devout guardian, she cannot deny that she holds nothing but respect for the man.
Nazeru Auronas : - Though rough around the edges, Lyuri can't help but admire Nazeri. She realizes that if it wasn't for meeting this woman, she would hardly be the person she is today. Quite often Lyuri finds herself reprimanding Naz one minute and laughing with her the next. All she can really say is that she's very glad they're on speaking terms again. Jessla Naskall : - She doesn't agree with everything Jess gets herself into, but the boastful pirate is no doubt a valuable business partner. Jessla's recent abcense has given Lyuri much cause to worry.
Nesi Greene: This woman's calm demeanor and efficient industriousness quickly earned Lyuri's attention. Promoted to an officer rank within Eclipsis, Lyuri knows she can trust Nesi to help keep everything running. Even nowadays, the woman still seems to always be busy with one thing or another. Argust Clow: While thaumaturgy tends to give her the creeps, something about Argust manages to assuage this inherent fear. Despite his apparent antisocial tendencies, Lyuri has known him to be both skilled and reliable. He is certainly someone she can trust when it comes to company matters.
