Nono Popoto is a self-titled "Gatherer Extraordinaire." She takes jobs from various clientele, procuring materials, objects, or relics from all over Eorzea. The name she uses normally, Nono Popoto, is a pseudonym she took on after leaving her family behind to strike out on her own. She doesn't normally use her given name, Sonono Nono, and holds a great distaste for it.

Nono has long, brown hair that is tipped with green dye. It's normally held up in a ponytail, or hidden under the various hats she wears. Her eyes are a shade of green quite similar to the dye she fancies, and possess the normal qualities of Dunesfolk eyes. Her skin has tanned to a darker shade than normal due to her constant work, and long days under the sun. Rarely, she loses the tan, due to working for clients that are located in the colder regions of Coerthas. Her stature is rather small for even a lalafell, coming up short at 2'6" tall. She uses this to her advantage, however, getting to places that not even others of her race could normally reach. Thanks to her line of work, she is fairly strong and toned, but due to the nature of lalafell, it isn't immediately obvious.

While she may have shed her family's noble roots, she still takes to the finer things in life, so she comes off as indulgent and overly decorated. Her social skills are also rather unwieldy, leaving her to seem blunt and tactless in many situations.

  Her work and early life as a merchant, and lack of socialization, have lead to her being rather verbose with agreements, and terrible at normal conversation. This leads to her missing a lot of idioms and sarcasm. She also has an extreme case of wanderlust, and thus finds it near impossible to stay in a location for a few days, let alone a week. This makes it more difficult for her to maintain relationships.

Biography

Early Life

Sonono Nono was born to a rich merchant family within Ul'Dah. She grew up completely secure, and given anything she wished. She was lauded by the family for her talent with logistics and management, as they had begun to introduce her early in life, and for her beauty. She was rather content with her life, until she reached her teens. She was touring Ul'dah, accompanied by her guards. They were describing the areas to her, the places and guilds, when she stopped directly in front of the miner's guild. The two attempted to dissuade her from approaching, but she was intent on seeing the place for herself. Immediately smitten by the idea of working the land, she began to work as a miner, much to her family's chagrin. They soon barred her from doing so, even though she displayed a remarkable talent for the work. Sonono soon began to see all that her family did for her as chains, and grew increasingly dissatisfied with her noble life. At 15 years of age, She escaped her home and family, and left for another city altogether: Gridania.

Arrival and the Calamity

Upon arriving in Gridania, Sonono took upon herself a new name. She figured that if she was going to abandon her life with her family, she was going to leave the name they gave her as well. She butchered a part of her name, and added it to the nickname the Miner's guildmaster had given her. She became Nono Popoto. Her following years were spent not mining, but rather learning the trade of the Botanist. She was gleeful to learn how to procure what was needed from the land, and her natural talent for doing so quickly led her up the ranks of the botanist guild.

By the time the calamity had occurred, Nono had departed from the forests of Gridania, feeling the call of the world once more. She was in Limsa Lominsa when the event occurred, the destruction was seared into her memory as a dark day, and continues to give her feelings of foreboding when present in the city.

Present Day

Nono Popoto is a well-known gatherer, and has a long list of satisfied and returning clientele. She has delved into ruins and caves, explored the deepest parts of the Shroud, and climbed to the highest peaks of the Coerthan mountains. She has still not returned contact with her family, despite their efforts to find her and bring her back into their world again. She has, however, returned to Ul'dah on many occasions for work and to meet various contacts that would allow her easier transport and passage around Eorzea.
