Adun Blackblade The Apostate   CHARACTER DESCRIPTION Harsh, blunt, and vengeful, Adun Blackblade is disdain personified. Hated and wanted by all sides of the war for his home, Adun embraces his isolation and is unapologetic in everything he is. The first to admit he is undesirable and beyond redemption, Adun carries a lot of weight of regret for choices he had to make in order to survive. He speaks his mind without hesitation and rarely considers others feelings before acting. While his exterior can be hard and cold, Adun is actually a very soft person underneath. Buried under decades of feeling betrayal by his friends, family, and own people have built him up to be an extremely jaded individual. He is hard to trust others with anything that could be used against him as a vulnerability. On the other side of that coin, since he tends to be so completely honest about himself, it's hard to jab at him for the worst parts of him. A Fist of Rhalgr for most of his life, Adun gave up much about his life in order to dedicate to training. From social interaction to even taking time to himself just to relax, Adun complete focused on becoming the best Fist. So while he is an extremely strong fighter, he is actually very bad when it comes to common socialization and cues. He tends to not take a moment to understand the viewpoints of those around him and will very harshly assert his. However, if he has no problem with an individual, he can be mildly pleasant company. Hell, sometimes he'll even crack a joke. But it takes a special sort to actually befriend him mostly due to how hard he is to handle. Son of a Fist of Rhalgr and a Griffin Rider of the Ala Mhigan army, Adun was destined to be Ral's legacy. Just as he was starting his time to train, his brother and sister were born. As a young child, he vowed his father that he would be someone they could both look up to. The first time Ral took him inside a temple was the moment he fell in love. It was that day, the boy decided he would not only become a Fist as his father was, but become the best one anyone of them had seen. ▼ TEENAGE/ADULT Adun led a fairly boring teenage and young adult life from the outside looking in. Nearly everything he did was either training or meditating. Sacrifice was the name of the game when it came to being a best, and sacrifice meant he did not allow himself a normal life. Social activities and leisure were things meant for people who did not take things as seriously as he did. While he had friends in the temples, most were not at much depth. Adun was always the first to admit he did not have the drive to dedicate time to any form of relationships with people, but he appreciated enough that people noticed him. After the King of Ruin began his purge of the Monks, Adun was not only separated from what few close friends he had, but also his father. He took up the mantle as the man of the house in his father's absence, helping his mother and two siblings survive in a chaotoic, poverty-stricken Ala Mhigo. When the Garleans pushed in, he did not manage to escape with his family and was left on that side of the wall. Haralt and Adun met twenty years ago and have pretty much lived together all that time with Shana. Like a little brother, Haralt tends to be the voice of reason and a check for Adun's craziness. Proabably the only man he always to put hands on him and allows himself to be weak around. He would lay his life down for Haralt without hesitation. Shana Deftarm ─ Best Friend SUMMARY: His other best friend, Shana tends to be the devil on the shoulder to Haralt's angel. Shana has always been the one to say things blunt for Adun and force him to confront things he avoided. He adores her and looks out for her like he would his late sister. That might have a bit of an effect on her love life given how overly protective he is. Like with Haralt, he can allow himself to be weak around her and would die for her. Domri Blackblade ─ Younger Brother SUMMARY: His baby brother. They were always close in childhood, and Domri even looked up to him. This pushed Adun to be a better man so his brother could learn well. Luckily, Domri got to remember the best of him. Currently, he finds it hard to swallow that his brother has a family and moved on from him, but they have since mended their relationship, albeit thinly. Avelyn Firestone ─ Love Interest SUMMARY: The love that he pined over for twenty-five years. Victim to over romanticizing everything about her, Adun has been trying to adjust that the reality that is Ave. He still loves her, though not as he thought he did. They are unstable, chaotic, and argue constantly, but there are the moments where they are pure and completely sweet. He wishes to win her heart and whoever has to fall in that pursuit is collateral damage. Dominique La'fleur ─ Friend SUMMARY: One of two unusual friends he has made since his arrival in Eorzea, Neeka is actually someone quickly earning his trust and respect. He's not quite sure what it is about her, maybe simple the fact that she seems able to see past all his issues for who he is. Whenever she arrives somewhere, he immediately relaxes. Not to mention, she seems to be able to persuade him with relative ease. Asher Rukoth ─ Friend SUMMARY: The other half of his new strange friends. While he's not quite as close to Asher as he is to Neeka, he does enjoy the man's presence. Though they have never fought, he believes that Asher is a well trained fighter and looks forward to seeing him fight. Like Neeka, he seems to be able to give advice that Adun will take with little question. Odile Delacroix ─ Friend SUMMARY: Odile is someone who earned Adun's respect purely for the way she seems to cut through his bullshit. She doesn't seem intimidated by him, but not in a way that makes him feel disrespected. He appreciates her conviction and also seems to be fascinated by the fact that she is crippled. Erioch Koren ─ Shortstack SUMMARY: Adun finally gave into his inability to dislike the man. Despite whatever the hell is or was going on between him and Avelyn, Adun has a respect for his general attitude and personality. Helena Crescentius ─ Little Wolf SUMMARY: A tiny little half-garlean girl who comes from the other side of the wall. Adun is very drawn to protect her from anything. His only gripe, albeit extremely minor, is that she insists on asking him loads of questions that he really doesn't have the answer to. However, to him, she represents a lot of 'could have been' scenarios and because of that, he's immediately taken a liking to her. Expand Neutral, Colleagues & Acquaintances Virella Douront ─ Sister-In-Law SUMMARY: His brother's basically-wife. He doesn't like that her giant ears seem to be bad at listening, but he respects her greatly for the love of her husband. Though he might question his brother's choice, their love is something that he completely envies. Kaya Chalahko ─ Skilled Adventurer SUMMARY: A miqo'te Adun managed to do a small job with. From what he saw, quite talented. They've spoken only briefly, but she seems someone worth his respect. He doesn't know her on any real personal level, but doesn't see why he'd have a problem with her. He views her as level headed and respects her work. O'danyhe Petihd ─ The Vag Catte SUMMARY: He doesn't know much about this miqo'te other than she might have some secrets about hidden bones that exist inside a woman's parts. From what he saw of her, she was at least pleasant company and discussion. Sokhatai Mol ─ Teeny Stable Keeper SUMMARY: Adun is pretty sure she doesn't like him or finds him weird, but hey. She takes care of Princess pretty damn good and that makes her pretty okay in his book. Expand Negative, Foes & Rivals Tristram Greythorne ─ Shitfuck SUMMARY: The biggest obstacle between Adun and his relationship with Avelyn. He distrusts and dislikes the man. Beyond disappearing from her life for moons for what Adun sees as bullshit reasoning, he also sees the man as enabling.
