Character
● History
Domri was born in Ala Mhigo to parents Ral and Vela Blackblade and was one of three children. He had an elder brother, Adun, and was a twin to his sister Elyse. His father Ral was a monk in the city-state's military and instilled a passion for strength and training in all of his children. His mother gave up her career to raise her children full time, but she, too, was known in the military as being quite the formidable opponent. Both of them raised their children to value independence and perseverance, and were very strict, but loving individuals.
Domri looked up to his elder brother, Adun, the most of anyone. Five years his senior, Adun was the definition of star child and was Ral's protégé. He took his combat training very seriously and picked it up at a speed that was well past many of his age group. When he enlisted in the military, Adun graduated his training in the top three. Growing up, there was no one on the level of Adun in Domri's eyes. The brothers were close, ad a lot of what Domri knows today is owed to his eldest sibling.
His sister, Elyse, was his best friend in everything. The two came into the world together and spent a lot of their time in the other's company. There were never any secrets between the two, and Domri had a trust for her that was unsurpassed. Elyse was different from her brothers in that she did not quite share the same passion for physical superiority. Instead, she found her greatest interest in various magics and devoted her life to learning and mastering them. Quite a few times she would use her twin to practice spells to mess with him.
After the fall of Ala Mhigo, only Domri, his mother, and his sister managed to escape. Ral was stubborn and refused to leave, insisting they could take back the city only from the inside. Adun, like many, was slaughtered by the Garleans during their escape and his loss left a very dark mark on Domri. For around a decade, he and his sister took up mercenary work to care for their mother whose health began to sharply decline since the day they fled.
Eventually, Domri allied with the Twin Adders, inspired at the time by the Elder Seedseer and her passion for the Eorzean Alliance. However, during the battle in Cartaneau Flats against the VIIth Legion of the Garlean Imperial Army, Domri was one of the soldiers. He has not since seen or heard from his family and has no idea if any of them even live.
● Appearance
Domri bears many scars, and two that are always apparent due to their location. Across his right eye and on the left corner of his mouth are two slashing scars he gained in his many years of freelancing. Both, like every scar he has, bear a story from some chapter in his life. Less apparent due to his clothing habits are his many other marks that span all over his hulking frame.
He can generally be found sporting his armor as he tries to be prepared to take up a new job on a moment's notice. Also, working freelance, first appearances are generally a very important aspect. He knows he needs to look formidable in order to more likely be hired outside of a job listing. However, there are times he can be found wearing normal clothes, though they are much more rare an occasion. His fashion isn't very complex. A shirt, pants, and boots are generally the full thought process he goes through to achieve basic dress.
● Behaviour
He holds a special place for men and women from Ala Mhigo and those who knew it when it was great. While he knows not many share his same desire to return home one day, he does love talking about it and sharing his memories of his life there. After all, that's the only way he can keep it living on. His memories serve him as a sort of homage to the people he knew and loved growing up and he wants to spread them to everyone he knows so they may always have a place in the world.
His demeanor in public is almost always a laid back one as impressions are a thing that is important to him. Weakness is a trait he refuses to be known by in any capacity, so he will keep such feelings to himself and deal with them in private. For the same reasons regarding appearances and impressions, he avoids arguments and pointless fights, believing that a man or woman who can rise above petty conflict is better for it. That's not to say he doesn't have a temper; he does. However, he thinks it is weak in character to lose control of one's self emotionally in front of others, anger included.
