General Information
A member of the Brass Blades, Ana is only partially known in the city proper, and that is typically amidst her fellow brothers in law enforcement or amongst the seedier, criminal types with her reputation for a plethora of arrests and uncompromising position regarding crimes. She has a few commendations under her belt and mostly handles vice crimes in the port city of Horizon, but has been known to work in Ul'dah itself when in the city on a case. No matter who one asks, however, it is clear she is a no-nonsense withdrawn individual with little love for chit-chat and merrymaking.

Style
Cold and distant; sharp-tongued. Right-handed. Gunshot wound to the torso. Clear of blemishes. Befitting of an officer.
Hair & Eyes
Dimmed emerald, more often than not bloodshot - her eyes, and her face are framed by a slightly unkempt smattering of crimson hair, haphazardly brushed and combed into some measure of cleanliness.
Physique & Markings
Standing at a height atypical of most female Miqo'te, Ana is a strong woman, and it shows in the curvature of her musculature. While by no means a body-builder, she is powerful. Her form is toned and sculpted from years of training and her time serving with the Brass Blades. Her sun-kissed flesh is clear of blemishes at the first glance. Indeed, only when her midriff is exposed could one determine any harm had befell her at all. A nasty scar over her abdominal muscles - it is a souvenir of a slug extracted by a chirugeon in the past.
Hygiene & Attire
Clean and presentable, Ana is what one would expect a high-ranking investigator to appear as. Her navy blouse is embroidered carefully, and around the sleeve is typically the armband bearing the insignia of the Rose, marking her as a member of the Brass Blades stationed in Horizon. Looped about her waist is a utility belt, wherein her weapon is holstered and a myriad of tools expected to see use in law enforcement reside. A pair of irons, to be clapped about a ne'er-do-well's wrists, assorted first-aid supplies, and a whistle to alert nearby guardsmen. The faint aroma of lilacs follows in her wake.
Personality
Psychological Profile
Those who typically ask her fellow officers about her all, in the end, hear one thing - her devotion to the law, and a strict moral code of her own conception. She prides herself on being an 'uncorruptable' Brass Blade, who takes no bribes and sees those who do locked up. Her pursuit of justice is absolute, and she has been known to take lives if need be. Quick on the trigger, and blessed with a harsh tongue, she is a cold, crass personality, who ostracizes society at large and condemns herself to solitude. She doesn't like socializing, nor does she like unnecessary chit-chat. Preferring to avoid people unless necessitated, she is a lone wolf, and that suits her just fine.
Voice
Hailing from the La Noscean midlands, she spent much of her time around sailors and shipwrights; her distinct accent isn't entirely based upon that, though. Much of her childhood was spent amongst the folk in the country, and she has an obvious drawl that inflects itself strongly on her words. Her voice itself is husky and somewhat deep, making her sound more mature in age than she actually is. It's smooth, not scratchy - she sounds as though she might be a good contralto.
Philosophy & Mannerisms
The way she conducts herself, from her posture to her words to her facial expressions speaks of nothing but disdain and hostility. She is guarded at mostly all times, rarely relaxing or breaking into a smile unless it is at someone else's expense. Her crude demeanor is a safety mechanism; she struggles to cope with the guilt that her time as a Blade has bestowed upon her, and so she regularly shuts people out to insulate herself from further drama. Her outlook on life is entirely cynical, and she wastes away drunk most often than not.

Typically prefer dice, either as a higher roll wins or via assigning points; ala out of 20, 12 go into attack, 4 into defence and 4 into vitality. 1d12 is the attack roll, and 1d4 is defense. Vitality is x3, so 12 hp. If the attack roll > defense roll, damage is taken, with the defense roll subtracted from the total. You assign your 20 points out of your own choosing.

History
Disclaimer: Work in progress.
Sixth Astral Era
Childhood
Born to a Miqo'te prostitute and sired by a Rear Admiral in the Thalassocratic Navy, Ana grew up living in poverty with her mother. Most of her time was spent on the docks, around sailors and shipwrights. With her mother gone tending to her clients to get money necessary for their lifestyle, she wandered around Limsa and came to know it's seedier side quite well. She was never recognized by her father, given that it was an extramarital affair. This left her a bastard, and as she grew older, led to a bad reputation amongst her familiars. The 'bastard daughter'a th'Admiral's lapdog' is what she was known, and it gave credence to her distancing herself from others. As a far glirlier Miqo'te than was typical, she was also subjected to much humiliation.

But finally, with enough coin saved, her mother spirited her away from the pirate-laden shores of La Noscea to somewhere she thought they might be able to make a better living. Thanalan is where they set out to, and soon, they arrived in the Jewel of the Desert, Ul'dah itself. It was here her mother's skill as a weaver was thought to earn them a proper life, but no such mercy was afforded. When business fell through and the wealthy did not purchase her finely-crafted designs, she was forced to return to a life as a woman of the night. However, soon they would found out that Ul'dahn prostitution was far less forgiving than their comparatively easier life under the captains of the pleasure barges in Limsa. Earning less gil and suffering more abuse, Ana and her mother often found themselves on the streets, making it by only on the gil from her mother's line of work and from compassionate souls. For a time, this was a stable, if distressing existence, but again tragedy would see everything uprooted.

As she grew into her teenage years, and her mother became older, interest in her declined; mild-mannered young nobles, whom were frequent clients before, did not seek the company of an aging Miqo'te. Stranger individuals with darker tastes did, however, and it was one such Duskwight who, after a failed attempt to force himself on the senior Issek, eviscerated her with his blade. At the age of fifteen, Ana was then left without her mother, and was alone in the city of Ul'dah. Anger brewed within her - it was then she felt the festering hatred she did for the rogues and brigands that blighted society as a cancer. People like her father, like the man who murdered her mother - like her owner, and everyone who took advantage of them. Shortly thereafter, she sought a new purpose in life. A streetside beggar was what she was meant to be no longer.

Seventh Umbral Era
Adulthood
With the meager funds she had saved up, Ana decided to try and join up with the Brass Blades. As the peacekeeping and guard forces of Ul'dah, she wanted to prevent what had happened to her mother from happening to anyone else. Working as a young squire was hard and grueling, but over the years, she worked her way up the ranks to a regular rank and file soldier. It was during her time in the academy that she met her lover, M'san Tia, another Miqo'te aspiring to join the Blades. Back-breaking training regimens and long hours together patrolling the streets brought them together, and soon, she found herself starting to fall for the charming rogue. That all came to a halt on one especially fateful day, however. Heavy petting and kissing progressed to where her secret was ousted - and he never looked at her the same way again.

He quickly made sure to leave; it was a trickery and embarrassment to him. He was nice enough not to publicly out her, but he was angry nonetheless, and Ana hardened herself in the wake of what she perceived as an injury aimed at her very heart. It was something she never recovered from. Over the years, bitter and jaded from the loss of her mother and her lover - the hard city life got to her and deepened her resentment of people and cold demeanor. Despite that, she still had plenty of successful arrests as a regular Blade, and eventually was promoted to the investigation division after much hard work. There, she quickly became a thorn in the side of the Ul'dahn elite, showing total disregard for the established system of bribery and willful ignorance. A strong sense of justice drove Ana forward, and she wasn't going to let anyone else stand in her way - no other tragedies would get the best of her.
In Recent Times
Moving Forward
Now that things have finally settled, Ana finds herself embroiled still in sorrows and relationship issues. Her work with the Blades has taken her far and earned her recognition with outside powers. Having taken a case in the far reaches of the Dravanian Hinterlands, she ended up working with the Sharlayans to solve the murder of an Astrologian from the distant land of scholars. It was a trip to carry her away from the city, evading issues that followed her there. Cohno'ra's rejection of her romance and the loss of Tariev as someone she was exceptionally close with have further hardened her heart, and now, her future is unsure. It is likely she will return to the Hinterlands, and aid the adventurers of Idyllshire by bringing law to the lawless in the frontier. Ul'dah is home to too many bad memories.

Family
Hartmyna Slafklyng ( )
Father
A rear admiral in the Thalassocratic Navy, he sired Ana in an affair with her mother, who was a prostitute on board one of Limsa's many pleasure barges. He has no interest in recognizing his son-turned-daughter and their sole point of contact in the many years of Ana's life has been nothing but negative, where he disavowed her as the bastard child of a whore, and of no worth to him. Since, she has not bothered to attempt contact, nor does she have the desire to see him again.
Acquaintances
Errol Vennoix ( )
Friend
An errant Elezen exiled from Ishgard on charges of being a heretic, his constant badgering of her to open up to him earned himself a rare spot as one of her closer friends within the city of Ul'dah; she presumes him to have some sort of attraction to her, but such is unrequited. Irregardless, despite how brusque and distant she can typically be, she's shared more of herself with Errol than anyone else, really, and trusts him with her life despite how she treats him.
Tariev Sul'rah ( )
Friend
The only person aware of her current status as a transwoman, and the only person she has willingly slept with since. Their relationship is one of casual attraction, though she's opened up quite a lot to the pitfighter. He does not seem to pursue a romantic relationship, but she's grown a little sweet on him, in part due to how much she's come to trust him. They remain strong drinking buddies, however, and aren't below a one-night stand every so often. Now, however, he has a woman of his own - but Ana's attraction to him has only grown, as he's been a pillar for her emotionally since her return to Thanalan. Of course, he returns her feelings somewhat - but is committed, and it leads to tension between the two.
Auron Savaris ( )
Friend
A Miqo'te male she'd met while trying to shepherd a poor Gridanian boy about Ul'dah's darker side. At first, she presumed him to be a thief and a scoundrel - a rogue, as it was. Yet in the end she came to realize that he was a good, solid, dependable friend; her attraction to him is based mostly upon his handsome features, but she has no interest in anything further given his relationship and the fact he has a family. That said, he spent quite a lot of gil to take her on vacation. Such an effort doesn't go unnoticed.
Cohno'ra Vukoja ( )
...Ex?
Both intense guilt, an intense dislike, and a profound feeling of understanding are ignited within Ana when speaking of the petty thief she'd arrested on trumped up charges, thanks in no small part to the lies of an effeminate Au'ra male. This led to Cohno'ra being beaten up by a Garlean spy, and him renouncing his efforts to go straight again. Ana had to come to terms with her failure as a member of law enforcement, and as a peacekeeper, by letting her bias and dislike for Cohno'ra to impact her performance of her duties. Fast forward to a serious relationship on the cusp of being acknowledged, only for issues to get in the way. Departing Ul'dah for a long time to gather her thoughts, upon her return she was very rudely rebuffed by the male. Now, their friendship and anything else is on the rocks.
X'tahna Tia ( )
Friend
A Miqo'te she met, surprisingly, after getting into a gunfight and subduing a suspect. A dancer and traveler - he was new to Ul'dah at the time, so she took it upon herself to show him around when he suffered swindling at the hands of the locals. However, after a few drinks in the bar and plenty of sweet talk she found herself waking up next to him one morning and since then he has become a steadfast ally and someone worthy of her attention. He has a crush on her, but her ties to others, namely Tariev, keep her from entertaining the ideas of his affections. Nevertheless, she quite enjoys his company.
Former Acquaintances
M'san Tia ( )
Ex-Lover
Met during her early years as a trainee in the Brass Blades, both Ana and M'san became fast friends. Eventually, their relationship started to become romantic, but when they were ready to get more serious and Ana revealed her status as a transwoman to him, he was repulsed and surprised. He left the Blades, and her, blaming her for lying to him and attempting to turn him gay - she has since disavowed herself of him, and has no interest in pursuing him anyway. His departure still hurt, in the end.
Deceased
L'traya Issek ( )
Mother
Ana's mother was there for her throughout her life, and her untimely death struck a deep blow to the Miqo'te on an emotional level. Despite her position as a prostitute and the unsavory work she did to keep the family alive, she was a kind, caring individual. Ana's strong independence can be attributed to her mother's teachings; living in squalor and as poor refugees from Limsa taught her to depend on herself. Would that it be she could have stopped her mother's passing.

Some of these rumors are untrue, speculation, or are greatly exaggerated.

◢ Common Rumors - Easily overheard. Use these freely!
"Eh? Inspector Issek? Yeh, I heard she's an uptight git; lotta th'boys got an issue with her, she don't know when t'step off. That big head's gonna get her inta a lotta trouble, investigatin' th'wrong folk, not takin' hints. First, it's gil. Then, someone ends up bleedin' out on the streets. All I'm gonna say when y'refuse a nice tip t'keep quiet'." — Brass Blade.
"Ana? I remember when she was just a little kid, begging on the streets. When she got older, she used to do some work for me. Errands, simple stuff like that. Glad to see she's making a better life for herself, these days. Shame what happened to her mother." — Momodi.
"Yeh, I know 'er. Saw 'er down on Pearl Lane, late at night, chattin' it up wiv th'whores what wander th'streets, there. Looks like she got a thing fer male courtesans, eh? Brass Blades're all corrupt, ain't no surprise t'me." — Ul'dahn Citizen.

◢ Uncommon Rumors - A little more difficult to hear. Use sparingly or ask first!
"I've no idea who that is, but the weapon she wields is one only an expert machinist could craft. Would that I have known their identity - the Skysteel Manufactory could use their prowess. I can only think of a scarce few engineers who might be capable of such, and they are quite costly." — Stephanivien.
"Yes, I've seen her before. Every thirty moons or so, she visits a grave at the edge of the yard. She cries, for a little, and leaves behind a few gifts. Don't know her name. She avoids the staff and the clergy, but she seems to be very troubled." — Gravekeeper at the Church of Saint Adama Landama.
◢ Rare Rumors - Very rarely overheard. Please ask before using!
"Eh? Them? Yeh, I know 'im, or whatever th'fuck 'e's callin' 'imself these days. Mother was a whore down on th'pleasure barges. Me n'th'boys used t'piss 'im off by callin' 'im a girl n'whatnot. He looked like one. Musta been his maw - takes a special kinda woman t'prostitue herself, don't it? Ehe." — Yellowjacket.
"That one recruit? I caught her in the showers one night, when she was alone. She's not a normal girl, let me tell you. I don't know what she is, and frankly, I don't care as long as she does her job. But I always thought it was weird she didn't like bathing unless she was alone. Now I know why." — Flame Sergeant.
"I heard she killed someone. Tried to pass it off as proper usage of force, but the way I heard it, she executed an unarmed man because she thought he'd abused some worthless prostitute. Pity. The Syndicate can't get her under control." — Ul'dahn Noble.

A trope is a convention or device that is often found in creative works. In this case, the tropes below describe my character either in part, or as a whole. Their background, personality, appearance, etc, most of them can be described in the tropes below.
Trope Tropes are devices and conventions that a writer can reasonably rely on as being present in the audience members' minds and expectations. On the whole, tropes are not clichés.
