General Overview

Appearance: Caz is very short for a Miqo'te female, possibly due to the young age at which her mother had her. Her hair color naturally is a lighter blonde color, though she dyes it from time to time. While she changes it every so often she seemed to have left it as its current color, a dark, almost crimson red with a more natural red highlight. Her skin is naturally tanned and her eyes are as blue as the sea. Despite this, she usually wears a distant and somewhat dark look coupled with a hint of paranoia at times.

Personality: Caz is very cold, very distant from any real emotions. She tends to remain silent until spoken to, but it isn't all that rare for her to make comments under her breath about events unfolding in front of her. Other than that Caz remains composed, usually. Despite her stint with the Garleans and the things she was made to do, Caz would seem adjusted to life on the outside. Then again, if needed Caz and adapt her personality to anything she wants it to be. But usually doesn't unless the situation calls for it.

Combat Proficiencies: Thanks to her long time with the Garleans, Caz has had extensive training with many weapons. While she currently seems to favor daggers, her best weapons are simply her fists. Not every mission she was assigned to was able to have weapons easily concealable. Being able to fight with her fists and/or silently take down targets in many forms of CQC became her forte. In combat she prefers the use of tactics over brute force. Being a strategist would aid her in combat, making up for her smaller size.

Biography

Aizlin

Caz was born to a Limsa girl who got mixed up with the wrong guy at a very young age. Her mother was a third generation removed from the tribal Miqo'te whose parents were much more assimilated to city life than their own parents, but still they held onto certain standards for their house. When they became aware of her pregnancy, they issued an ultimatum. Get out and only come back if you have found someone to take care of your kid, or make your own life and -don't- come back. The expectant mother would turn to her lover, who stayed with her for a couple of months after the mother got evicted, but he would abandon her too eventually. Without anywhere to go, she would live in the Limsa poorhouse.

Coming closer to giving birth, she visited orphanages, trying to get them to take her child, but none were too willing to house her as well until then. She would manage to make trips to the other city states, basically getting the same treatment. The Ul'dah orphanage though would offer a chance encounter. A member of the Weavers guild happened to be there the same time as Caz's mother delivering assorted clothes for the children there, and upon overhearing her problem, offered to take her in for the final couple of months of her pregnancy until the child was born with the stipulation the child would become hers. Caz's mother would reluctantly agree. The woman adopting Caz was a well known fashionista who lived on a highly traveled trade route on the outskirts of Ul'dahian territory. Her name, Gwen Weaver, a woman in her mid forties and fairly well off financially. She would give her new daughter, Aizlin, a life she would wish she could remember.

Aizlin's Upbringing

Gwen was a strict woman, teaching Aizlin manners, etiquette, but also how to think, how to act, and taught her the trade of making clothes. Aizlin would develop strong cognitive abilities and a strong work ethic because of this. She lived a happy life going to school, learning various lessons her mother left to them to teach. Aizlin would learn to keep the house and cook as well, as part of her duties assigned to her by Gwen. This life would continue until Aizlin was 16, when everything in her life turned over on its head.

The Rise of Khiedra

A couple of times a year, the trade route Gwen lived on became a hub for hundreds of trading caravans whose schedules conveniently brought them all together. It was during one such time, as the object in the sky ominously drew closer to the land, that the Garleans launched a massive attack. Their goal was to obtain supplies, and replenish their ranks by abducting people, brainwashing them and turning them into soldiers. The Garleans made out like bandits this day, capturing many people, and taking everything they could get their hands on. Aizlin would never see Gwen again. At least not that she knew of. Aizlin was brainwashed, forgetting everything and everyone, becoming a husk of a person like everyone else.

The now nameless soldier proceeded through basic training with flying colors. Her perceptiveness in combat was inexplicable, but noticed by the Garleans. She graduated from basic at number six overall. Her commanding officer was a strange man, who loved screwing with his underlings as much as possible, and not in a good way. He took the top sixteen cadets, Aizlin included, and made them fight it out to the death for the one open spot in his command. Aizlin managed to win, but not easily.

Afterwards she was thrown into solitary confinement, injected and force fed all sorts of poisons in the "attempt" to increase her resistances to them all. She was only allowed out to eat and to do exercise training. Of which she was beaten daily for failing to complete the tasks. She had recurring memories coming back, enough such that the Garleans used her to test a special machine that targeted long standing memories in an attempt to wipe them so that she wouldn't need to be retrained. After undergoing this technique countless times, her memories were destroyed. She was ultimately considered such a risk for her strong willpower to try to remember, she was to receive these treatments several times a year.

During this time, besides gaining the resistances to poisons and memory corrections, she learned weapons training. Seeing her excel at combat simply due to out thinking the sparing partners, her C.O. put her into special training. Here she learned the ways of military strategy, espionage and sabotage. Eighteen months of overall training later she was deployed as a strategist for the Garleans. This would go on for a little over a year before her C.O. decided to make her into a killer. She was yanked as a strategist and trained in assassination techniques. Another year of this training coupled with more specific strategic training and she was now deployed as a special agent. Assassin when they needed it, and a strategist when they needed it.

She was given the name Khiedra. Her C.O.'s plan was to make her a tool of fear. And after a notorious high profile assassination of someone considered untouchable, the name Khiedra was used by the Garleans to instill fear, successfully too, in the politicians and military officials of the world. She continued to rack up the body count as time went on, some as just straight up killings, some as gory scenes in an attempt to make "examples" out of people. This would go on until Khiedra turned 27, when she would finally gain her freedom from the brainwashings of the Garleans. On an extended solo mission she was given a portable version to keep on her since she was due for a treatment around that time,. This unit became damaged, and over the course of the next few weeks she became aware of her situation and go into hiding.

From the Ashes

Cazandra Tena'ris was born that day. Her hair dyed a crimson red, highlighted with a more lighter red. The name was completely made up. A search of a birth registry would yield no results. She just wanted to get away from the Garleans, and she had nothing but the clothes on her back.

She was tracked down and approached by a ruthless assassin group. They tried to recruit her but she turned them down. She had no problem killing people, she was used to it, but the way this group did things, the way they lived, she didn't agree with. Eventually another person would track her down. The leader of the Vylbrand Academy. Seeing that they could both benfefit from each other, Cazandra joined them.
