Hair & Eyes
Dark blue eyes, almost stormy in color. Her red hair in combination with these eyes lead many to believe her to be of Limsan descent, but her speech clearly proves otherwise. Her hair is typically styled in slight curls, the long flowing nature of it making it easier to pull this off. The ends of her hair are a touch darker than her roots, turning a more cinnamon like colour.
Physique & Markings
It is often difficult to get a good judge of her appearance. Her wardrobe prefers more masculine clothing. She tends to have a slim figure overall, but when she does show skin, it's apparently she spends much of her time taking care of her body. Surprisingly lean for her stature, she tries to avoid heartier foods in order to keep it as such.
Hygiene & Attire
Giselle is almost never seen without having first spent careful attention and detail to her appearance. Even with her hat, she makes sure her hair does not look unkept. To match her hygeine, all her clothes tend to be freshly washed and tailored by some of the weavers guild's finest, clearly designed for her figure first and foremost.
Personality
Psychological Profile
It's often hard to read Giselle at any given time. No matter how close she may be with someone, she always appears to be a wild-card. She doesn't opt to do things for her own benefit, or for the benefit of others with any apparent rhyme or reason. It's unsure what caused her to opt to take such a middlewoman stance on life, but very few tend to question it. Because of this, she can be convinced to do most anything if provided reasonable opportunity.

Due to her time working with the Confederacy, she has found herself occasionally having small bouts of nervousness she combats with a tin of Fogweed she keeps on her person, indulging in it if she begins to speak about topics that might keep her on edge.
Voice
If one could make fine red wine talk, it would sound like Giselle. Thinking along the lines of Asami from Legend of Korra, or, at times, Lust from Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, it's often difficult to not focus on her voice as she speaks.
Philosophy & Mannerisms
Giselle carries herself with a sense of pride. Knowing she isn't the top dog of anything she works on, she feels safer than most in the Underground. She is a firm believer that Eorzea is a "dog-eat-dog" world, but acknowledges that the top dog is often the one hunted the most. As such, her philosophy is to have a breadth of knowledge unlike any other, though less depth than one might expect. Not to focus on any one part of the workings of the underworld in particular, never leaving a positive or negative light on a situation.

Dislikes
● Whiskey. Used to love it, now she can't stand the stuff
● When people hide their face or expression intentionally, behind either masks, glasses, or the like
Skills
● Oddly likable - A unique charm, very few would call her an enemy
● Finds it easy to read others facial expressions and thoughts
● Sleight of hand
● Uncanny knack at mathematics

Basic Statistics
High: Finesse, able to counter most momentum from an opponents attack to use against them
Above Average: Defense, for the selfsame reason as above
Average: Stamina, A long stint with an addiction to cigars prevents this from being higher
Low: Physical strength, she struggles to lift rather large objects.
Aetheric Abilities
Expert: Most aetheric abilities utilizing the Machinist's toolkit - She has worked on perfecting them for quite some time.
Novice: Alchemy - Has been known to imbue aetheric properties in to her poisons, to varying degrees of success.
Weapon Training
Mastery: Firearms, particularly revolver/single-shot. She has been known to use them alike a cane, occasionally using the bullet ricochet as a method to slam the gun in to the opponent.
Average: Knives/Daggers. Despite no professional training, she does have a knack for finesse with daggers.
Combat Relevant Skills
High: Bartitsu - Uses her opponents momentum against themselves to deflect blows, typically using her gun's barrel to deflect the momentum
Above Average: Finesse - Tends to move around the battlefield light on her feet
Non-Combat Abilities
Sleight of hand: Since she started her work throughout Thanalan, Giselle has always been known to be skilled in the art of sleight of hand. It is very rare for people to notice her in the pockets of someone else should she need the money, or to carefully hide items in plain sight.
Mathematics: Giselle has always been one for crunching numbers. Easily able to discern the odds of the outcome of most of the situations she winds herself up in. She also tends to use these skills at the Saucer, calculating her chances of winning a bet, and because of that has garnered quite the reputation because of that.
Alchemy: Giselle has been known to dabble in alchemy to emphasize her average knife skills. Toxins and poisons alike, whilst also tinkering around with beneficial potions and salves for her own personal use.
Combat Abilities
Quickshooting: Giselle has been toted as one of the fastest shots in Thanalan. Each firearm she uses is custom-tailored with a hair trigger, allowing for even the slightest press to set the gun ablaze.
Melee-Gun Skillset: Giselle can often be seen propping her gun in to the ground alike a cane. She often uses the recoil from the shots more as momentum to deflect attacks from others with the barrel, occasionally hooking others weapons with the handle of her guns. She refuses to speak to where she learned this skillset, and if people catch on or find it familiar, she often deflects the conversation elsewhere.
Knives: Though not formally trained with them, Giselle has been known to dance around the battlefield with knives in the event her gun is away form her person. To compensate for her lack of skill in the field, she opts to instead occasionally tip the blades with toxins and poisons.
OOC Note
Giselle's combat style largely borrows from the martial art of Bartitsu, if one could imagine Roman Torchwick from RWBY's fighting style, this would be her when she is most adamant of winning a fight. She also will make it a point to avoid speaking about where she learned her techniques, going so far as to leave the conversation if people press her too hard on it.

History
.
Disclaimer: .
Sixth Astral Era
Childhood
[0] Giselle was born in to a small marketeer family from the slums of Ul'dah. Her family spent hours peddling their wares at the Sapphire Exchange with "Lockhart's Goods and Sundries, a family-owned store specializing in foodstuff and equipment necessary to brace the warm Thanalan climate. Barely making ends meat, she grew up alongside her brother, Troy, in relative poverty. This was only emphasized by the various thugs and families demanding protection money from the Lockhart's, furthering their descent in to the underbelly of society.

[4-8] Giselle attended a school comprised entirely of impoverished families, and due to her scrawny, slim nature, was often picked on by both the students and teachers. She kept her head low and quiet during most of these years.

[9-15] Giselle became slowly fed up with the lifestyle her family was living, and sought alternative options. She discovered that it would appear many of the "families" requesting protection money don't appear to verify any of the money coming in or out. She decided to spend her time away from school swindling down families for their money under the disguise of a "crime family lackey", pocketing the money for herself for a time. Eventually the family came searching, and she was caught. Instead of giving up, she opted to cut them in a portion of the profits in exchange for them looking the other way, and they subsequently agreed. She neglected to tell her brother or parents of this information, and kept her profits close to her chest, using them to improve her own quality of life.

[16-18] Giselle's family discovered her tactics, and shunned her for it. The Lockhart's were known amongst the slums as one of the few decent families, and she soiled the name. Her brother, Troy, began working with the Flames to help with the crime within Ul'dah. Her family disliked the path she chose, but still cared for their daughter. She was told she was to not practice her ways under their roof, so she began staying at the quicksand indefinitely, seeing her parents often. On occasion, she worked within the Quicksand under the table, serving drinks and food to patrons.

Seventh Umbral Era
Adulthood
[18] Giselle began expanding her ideas as to how to amass her money, beginning to wiggle her way in to other factors of Ul'dah. Due to her rapport with several families, from providing them more than enough "protection money" from her endeavors, she began assisting them in the import and export of illegal drugs and substances to Kugane. Due to her desire to fit in with those who called the shots, it is this time she took up her several-year addiction to Cigars.

[19] Giselle begins helping the families from Ul'dah expand their skills in Kugane. She begins swindling tourists and tradesmen in an attempt to begin getting her name out there. It is around this time she is approached by a young Au Ra man, formally dressed and donning an elegant black and gold cane, who confronts her on trying to expand her network where it doesn't belong. Initially worried, she quickly backs away from the trade, but the Au Ra man confronted her again on another trip, stating he merely wished to help her further her skills, not hinder them.

[20-23] Giselle learns to utilize firearms and magi-tek from the Au Ra man, and the two quickly make waves around Kugane and Shirogane before heading back to Eorzea. Working side-by-side, Giselle quickly amassed reputation as the 'middle-woman' of Eorzea's underworld, playing neither side wholly. She becomes involved once again in Ul'dah's drug trade and brothel-ring, Gridania's Botanists' creation and distribution of illegal alchemical ingredients, and the Limsan pirate trade. Though she does not stick around long enough to amass enough notoriety to become a target.

[24-25] Giselle is tricked by the Au Ra man in to unwillingly sign up for the confederacy and is left to her own devices as her contacts and experience falls apart in front of her. Forced to worth to uphold the Ruby Tithe, she worked with the men for almost a year and a half, as she was told leaving would be punishable by death.

[26-28] Giselle manages to escape the Confederacy quietly, sneaking upon a ship bound for Eorzea soil. She vows never to enter Doman waters again for fear of death.

In Recent Times
Moving Forward
Giselle attempted to seek out the Au Ra who double-crossed her, only to find he has perished a year and a half prior, as well as the remainder of his family. Surprisingly, she found herself saddened by this fact, but decides that despite his deception, the skills he taught her could remain invaluable. She quickly began filling up her playbook with the skills she had lost from her time with the Confederacy, regaining her contacts and spending most of her time gambling at the Gold Saucer. She has opted to spread her skills wide, not deep, wanting to retain contact with many different facets of the Eorzean underworld, though explicitly refusing work in Doman territory.

Giselle has begun making contacts with those she neglected in the past, beginning with the Chant family, assisting the Golden Arcana nightclub with the operation of their back-room works, manufacturing and constructing poisons and potions for those who request them.

Rumors
NPC Rumors

Some of these rumors are untrue, speculation, or are greatly exaggerated.

◢ Common Rumors - Easily overheard. Use these freely!
“I heard lil’ Red would shake her own parents down if there were gil in it for her!” — Quicksand Patron.

“There ain’t nothing she won’t do for some coin, if you catch me’ drift” — Alley Rat.

“Doesn’t have many friends, that girl. Allies, maybe, but friends? Girl's like a card in a Triple Triad Deck. Easily flips over to whichever side has the highest numbers.” — Gold Saucer Patron.

“Word on the street is she spends so much time in the saucer that she’s known by name around those parts. Rumor is she cleared out some of the machines gamblin’ away day in and day out!” — Passer-by.

“If you want to get away from her, best flee to Kugane. For some reason, she refuses to deal with the eastern countries.” — Limsan Pirate.

“You need poisons? Money? Protection? Well, you could go to the head honcho of every business ‘round Eorzea if you want. Or you could just ask her and she’d sort it out...for a price.” — Black Market Salesman.
◢ Uncommon Rumors - A little more difficult to hear. Use sparingly or ask first!
“Her lil’ Brothers climbing his way up the ranks in the Immortal Flames. Surely to protect her. Has to be.” — Coffer and Coffin Patron.

“Have you heard? Giselle’s gone and wiggled her way into arms deals now. I mean I know she deals in toxins and poisons, but war profiteering? That’s just unheard of.” — Limsan Pirate.

"Heard she's managed to secure a route in and out of Garlemald, of all places. Why the hells would she work there and not Kugane?" — Unknown.
◢ Rare Rumors - Very rarely overheard. Please ask before using!
"Lockhart? That's Lieron's protege ain't it? Damn...I feel sorry for the poor girl." — Kugane Citizen.

"Heard she used to work for the Confederacy...How the hell's she out and still alive?" — Unknown.

IC Inventory
The following items are things that this individual carries on their person at all times. These are noted for pickpockets, and those watching her closely. This information is meant to be a prompt for insight and is not to be meta-gamed, though feel free to use this information if it comes up logically in RP (pickpocketing, a search, etc) with use of a simple /tell.

Glio coinpurse.png

Coinpurse: An extravagant coin purse made of dark colored leather, containing a significant amount of Gil.
Cigar Tin: An luxurious looking tin full of hastily-put-together fogweed 'cigars'. More akin to joints due to their poor rolling.
RP Limits
I like to consider myself a flexible player who is willing to commit to a number of different types of scenes and role-play scenarios, but even I have my limits. If something is on the play list, assume it means yes, as long as it's within the context of the current play or ongoing plot. No's are typically a hard no!
I will play darker, more mature themed RP. This includes things like alcohol, drugs, crime, death, addiction. etc. Practically everything is on the table.
Ask about Long lasting character injuries.
I won't play Giselle's character death.
RP Hooks
While the below is by no means comprehensive, it's a kind of spring board for walk-up RP. Longer plots that are meant to run for more than a few quick RP's, please feel free to send me a tell so we can work out a good reason for our characters to get to know one another. I'm always looking for new people to RP with!

Player Note
There is a lot of information on this character wiki, but it is by no means completely comprehensive. There are chunks of backstory that are left intentionally vague so that details can be later added as developed through creative writing or in role-play revelation. Feel free to use Common or Uncommon rumors freely, if you want to use a Rare Rumor as a plot hook or to spark RP, I would ask that you send me a tell first, to make certain it's alright.
