Early Childhood: Born in 1542. In his childhood, Hiioryuu lived a pretty easy going life. His father enrolled him within a dojo at a young age and he began learning various swordfighting techniques. When he came home, his mother would teach him more about the conjury she held in such high regard. Everything seemed normal, through the lens of a child, but his father was a man who desired more and often played political games to get his way. Majority of the servants within the Hasaki household were unhappy, with several even serving due to being captured in war. One such servant came to be Hiioryuu's guardian; a silent ninja he knew only as "Yoru".
Age 10, The Fall of Doma, 1552: During the fall of Doma, Hiioryuu watched as his friends fled, unsure of why his family remained behind. In the bloody exchanges that followed, the growing child came to realize that his had sold out his countrymen, for a title and more land. Land that once belonged to his neighbors. Any of the servants who tried to flee were executed, leaving the rest to quietly burn with disdain for their terrible leader. Yoru continued to protect Hiioryuu, his mother, and his younger brother, but it was clear that the ninja felt uncomfortable around the lord of the household, as did all others. It wouldn't take long for things to reach a breaking point.
Age 15, Escape to Eorzea, 1557: Startled in the night by the sound of screaming, Hiioryuu grabbed his blade and moved to defend his family. The manor was completely empty, eerily so. What he saw that night left him shaken for years and he still doesn't open up about it often. Before the morning had come, Hiioryuu's mother and younger brother were killed by his father's hand. Revenge had been taken that same night, but certainly not without help. Under the watch of his guardian, Hiioryuu fled with a small number of other servants. The journey to flee his father's allies had taken time, but the small group was eventually able to make it to Eorzea, though not without sacrifice. Seven had left, but only three arrived; Hiioryuu, Yoru, and a young girl named Noriko.
Adulthood: Spending years toiling away in the streets of Ul'dah, Hiioryuu's guardian provided for the small group by throwing himself into the Coliseum. The toll on his mentor was more than Hiioryuu could bear to see, so he took up work as a sellsword and used his conjury to assist in combat. The pair made dangerous money, until Hiioryuu was able to land some good fortune; in 1572, the city-state of Ul'dah forms its Grand Company and Hiioryuu immediately enlists. At the age of thirty, he went all in, devoting everything to his Grand Company. Eventually, he followed General Aldynn into combat against the Garleans at the Battle of Carteneau. He had nearly lost his life in the aftermath that followed, his body broken and a foreign mark seared upon his back. The origin of the mark is unknown and he has given up trying to find answers. He's just happy to be alive. With this second chance at life, Hiioryuu has started his own business. His company of Seekers can be employed to find and retrieve lost items or missing people. After a momentus return to the Far East, Hiioryuu has opened up business within Shirogane. He strives to make up for the sins of his family's past.
A lean man with a relaxed posture, Hiioryuu stands about 7 fulms tall. He's lean and continues to strive for a healthy life, working out and eating well. His eyes are a deep green, with bright emerald limbal rings. His hair is a natural black color, with bits of white seeming to trail from parts of his scalp where his scales grow the thickest. Despite being a working man, Hiioryuu keeps his hair up in a fluffy ponytail with his bangs often falling in his eyes. Long, curved horns frame the sides of his face, with steel caps at the end. His horns are a pale beige, while his scales seem to gradient into slight shades of green. Scales of a more vibrant green can be seen freckled around the sides of his face and neck, as well as framing the larger beige plate-scales that cover his arms and back.
Scars & Markings: A small scar cuts into Hiioryuu's hairline, starting just above his brow. It's often hidden by his bangs, which he intentionally grew out in an attempt to hide the mark. On bad hair days, this scar can make his hair look very odd. He also has a large scar against his upper left thigh. It chipped into his scales, which haven't grown back properly. A similar scar is matched on his upper left arm.
Clothing: Hiioryuu's attire tends to be comfortable and loose. Typically it hearkens back to his homeland, but he's started to incorporate styles he picked up while living in Ul'dah for a time. When he's at home, he typically lounges in loose fitted and comfortable clothing, favoring greens, greys, and browns. If he's out working, then the katana comes out and so does his dogi. It's a muted black piece, with accents of red, green, and white. He prefers leather or lamellar armor over anything that might weigh him down, but he'll pick up sterner stuff if the job calls for it. There are times when Hiioryuu is called on for healing however and the katana stays home. During times like these, he'll don his pale robes, adorned with beads, and take a staff with him.

Hiioryuu's father. A Garlean lapdog, responsible for selling out his countrymen in exchange for land and a title. He executed his wife and youngest son during an uprising, but was put to death by Yoru and Hiioryuu.
Tsukiyo Hasaki ✖ ♥( NPC ) - Mother
Hiioryuu's mother. A kind woman of peculiar origin, executed by her husband. Yoru has been seeking more about her history, which seemed to have started in The Steppes.
Kosame Hasaki ✖ ♥( NPC ) - Brother
Hiioryuu's younger brother. He was executed at the age of nine, so Hiio doesn't remember him well. By all accounts, he was a normal, happy child.
Yoru Qestir ♥( PC ) - Adoptive Father
Once a silent servant, he gave Hiioryuu the means to end his father at a young age. He continues to protect Hiioryuu, who sees him as a father. After taking Hiio and Noriko to Eorzea, Yoru took up work as an assassin to provide for them.
Noriko Kazarishi ♥( PC ) - Adoptive Sister
A young woman whose family once served the Hasaki clan. They feel responsible for each other. Her older brother, Genji, was Hiioryuu's best friend in childhood, but he's presumed to be dead.
Oyuun Dracojin ♥( PC ) - Adopted Son
A young orphan from a secluded Xaela tribe. Yoru saved him after he was caught stealing in Ul'dah. He now lives with Hiioryuu, who has adopted him as a son.

Hiio accidentally revealed that Hiru's twin was still alive. It was awkward, but it worked out ok! They live in the same neighborhood.
