Youngest child of the Tatewaki family, sworn protectors of the Matsumoto’s in the Village of Pine. Raised and trained from a young age to be both a gentle lady and a fierce wielder of steel, her way of life as she knew it came to an abrupt end at the young age of eighteen. Almost a decade has passed, and she has made her way to Eorzea to try to start anew. Burdened with the ghosts of her past, this swordmaiden is trying to forge herself a new life in a strange land.
Appearance & PersonalityDemeanor: Izanami holds herself somewhat apart, keeping her emotions tightly bottled and only occasionally allowing anything beyond a small smile or frown disturb her features to give any indication of her mental state. She is a quiet person, preferring to let others speak and only adding when she feels she has something important to say.
Nature: She is a singularly focused woman. She pursues her causes or goals relentlessly, and will let nothing stand in her way. That does not mean she is incapable of patience, quite the opposite. She can focus on a goal and play the long, waiting game to be in position for the optimum moment to secure her preferred outcome.
Religious Beliefs: Izanami holds the traditional Au Ra beliefs in the Dawn Father and Dusk Mother, as well as believing that when she dies, she will join her deceased family in watching over any progeny.
Common Appearance: She is meticulous in her appearance: her hair always groomed and glossy, skin clear and free from excess cosmetics aside from a touch of color on her lips and kohl on her eyes. Her clothing is well-pressed and clean. She stands with a straight back and maintains good posture. There is often the subtle scent of jasmine on her skin.
Scars & Markings: Izanami's wrist scales are worn down and devoid of detail in a roughly 4 inch area between her hands and forearms. She bears multiple whip-scars on her back, legs and upper arms, as well as other signs of physical abuse.
Voice: Though her natural pitch is in the middle to high range, she pitches her voice lower when speaking. She has a mild Doman accent, which is more noticeable when speaking for long periods of time.
Clothing: Izanami's personal clothing is always well-tailored, and made of quality materials, regardless of whether she is dressed in every day wear, armor, or fancy dress.

After an initially bad impression after a brief run-in in the slums of Ul'dah, Izanami's opinion of this scrawny man changed for the positive when he invited her to join his company and promised to keep her secret. He keeps going up in her esteem, having helped her deal with the aftermath of a particularly nasty void attack by a posessed girl during a mission for Aethertide.

Her first meeting with Sokhatai went quickly downhill as he called her rudely by her tribe rather than just about any other polite manner of address. He continued to dig a hole (in her eyes) by insisting it was -she- who was in the wrong, and not he.
