Hailing from the conquered city state of Ala Mhigo, Jackal is a highlander woman and a member of the Fist of Rhalgr. She's strong willed and has survived many terrible events in her lifetime and works hard to one day ensure the liberation of her homeland.

Jackal stands nearly two inches above 6', and her form shows that she has spent years training and honing her skills as a monk, and hasn't shown any signs of going soft, despite her being in her forties. Her body is littered with scars, mementos of altercations with Theodoric's men and later the Garleans, as a member of the Ala Mhigan Resistance.

Her hair, once a deep, dark blonde and kept cropped short has gone mostly grey with only a few highlights here and there of her original hair colour, it prematurely aged mostly as a result of the stress and hard life of being in the Resistance. While she has contemplated dying it back to its original colour, Jackal has decided against it for now, a frivolity that is unnecessary and irrelevant.

Her face is starting to show its age a little, with a few small wrinkles beginning to line her face, though it has done little to soften her. Across the left side of her face is a large, purple tattoo, it's colour similar to that of the purple of the flag of Ala Mhigo.

Biography

Jackal was born as the eldest of eight children, her father a scholar of theology who trained in the Sharlayan colony in Dravania, and her mother was a merchant of moderate success. Both parents were devout followers of Rhalgr, and it was of little surprise to either when Jackal became interested in joining the Fist of Rhalgr, formally joining the order when she was in her teens, despite the growing tensions between them and King Theodoric.

Jackal made sure to visit her family when she had the opportunity to do so, and it was for that reason alone that she managed to evade the destruction of the Fist of Rhalgr at their temple. She never made it to her family's home that day, the king's men having raided it and taking her entire family. The only thing stopping Jackal from being taken with them was a family friend finding her and telling her what had happened. It wasn't until much later that Jackal found out that her family had been executed, no family member was spared, not even the youngest.

Thanks to the warning of her friend, Jackal managed to evade the king's forces for some time, and by a stroke of luck was found and taken in by a family in one of the poorer areas of Ala Mhigo, sheltering her and hiding her from the king's forces for several moons, at great risk to themselves. She unsurprisingly developed a deep bond with the family, even becoming godmother to the youngest of them. The parents of the family were in fact members of a small resistance fighting against the king, and with no home, family or order to return to, Jackal readily joined the resistance, throwing all of her strength and determination into it. It was there she met her husband, a former priest and follower of Rhalgr, and while bother were young and knew each other for a short while, they were wed.

She was jubilant when the king died, even if by his own hand, and she hoped that with Theodoric dead, her family could begin to be at rest. However her jubilation turned to despair and horror when the Garleans took advantage of the situation and invaded her city. No sooner had it been liberated from the yoke of one tyrant, it had been made the thrall of another and worse still, her husband was slain by the invaders, and she would bear a son nine months later of Garlean blood. She remained in Ala Mhigo for several years, assisting with the Resistance efforts there, before leaving the Resistance and Ala Mhigo for Eorzea, embittered by the ill treatment her half-Garlean son had earned for no fault of his own, and believing that there would be little hope for Ala Mhigo's liberation.

She made home in Eorzea and tried to raise her son as best she could, finding better success in Eorzea than Ala Mhigo. She eventually earned enough coin to purchase a small apartment soon after her son left to travel and find his own place in the world, and offers to teach and train the underprivileged youth of Ul'dah.

♥ Hilbert Ashdale (deceased) - Jackal's late husband, a former priest, he was killed when the Garleans killed Ala Mhigo. The pair met during their time in the Resistance and married young. Jackal still grieves for her late husband and has taken on no other lovers since his death.

♥ Una'to Viqqoh - The Ala Mhigan born miqo'te is Jackal's godson, though she has not seen him since the fall of Ala Mhigo and is unaware of his Imperial loyalties.

• Jackal is in ownership of a male griffin named Matilda. All people know about him is that she had him with her when she arrived in Eorzea and that she's raised him from a hatchling. He is very loyal and devoted to her.
