Now that the war has ended and the warships have been driven away, he finally gets to return. With his tribes blessings, he once again sets foot back onto his beloved Steppes. But what drove him from his tribe? Why would he walk away from his tribe to seek unknowns? To answer that, we must first go back to their initial landing on the continent of Eorzea. While many landed in a peaceful area, Khoal's tribe landed in a territory filled with hate. They viewed the Xaela as dragonkin, and meant to destroy them. They had to flee deeper into the Forelands, hiding in the shadows until they finally found safety. Many of his tribe died to the fear and misplaced hatred. Being the eldest child, Khoal's duty was to protect the little ones during each move. He learned to distrust. He learned to fear. He only let his guard down around his village. Even after they had found safety, he still shied away from outsiders that visited. He watched as those he swore to protect became friends with those he looked at as enemies, watched as his elders made allies with them. He fought hard with his instincts, not wanting fear and hatred to turn him into those that he feared. He chose to be happy instead of being hateful. Sought to bring smiles instead of fear. He is still shy and nervous in unknown situations, due to his upbringing. His most obvious tell of his nervousness is his scratching of the back of his head. He does not like to talk of his time in Eorzea. He will when asked by those he sees as friends, but he wishes to move forward. Hopefully one day, he can finally relax and let his fear go for good. Scars & Markings: Deep knife wounds on his left shoulder, making his scales grow in deformed.
