General Information .  Appearance
Kohaku is one to usually known to keep her chestnut colored hair pretty short simply because she is an adventurer, it is less of a hassle to deal with. It is pretty silky but can tangle easy if it's too long. From time to time, she can be seen with longer hair when she lets it get out of her control and will keep it up in a bun when she is out and about. Her eyes are an icy blue color, a trait inherited from her deceased mother. When there is dim lighting, her eyes can appear grey.
Kohaku is a short, slightly-built androgynous girl. Being so short was always a problem for her, causing her to be the victim of bullying from time to time, especially when other girls started to develop breasts and curves while she barely developed at all. When she was old enough to start wielding a weapon, her strength began to build up simply from having to draw the bow string back. While she is stronger than she was as a child, she is not extremely or visibly buff at all, only sporting a barely visible six-pack. As for the markings on her face, it is more so aesthetically pleasing for her. She like it a lot more rather than being completely bare faced. The paint can be removed whenever she pleases, though.
Having a job such as being an adventurer makes it quite the task for Kohaku to keep herself from being clean. There are always disgusting monsters wandering around the Black Shroud, after all. But even though it can be hard, she makes sure that her hygiene is at it's best, simply because she was raised that way and hates the feeling of being dirty. Lately, Kohaku's attire has taken on more of an Eorzean style because it is hard to find Doman clothing. The few clothing items she was able to snag while escaping the razing of Doma is what she is keen on wearing while she is relaxing or just acting as a normal civilian.
Personality
Kohaku is a rather open person and eager to meet people. She has quite the honest soul and is not afraid to speak her mind. Seeing as how she was raised without her mother and under Imperial rule for her entire life up until escaping to Eorzea, she has no misconceptions about the world she lives in and bases her opinions off of experience. Even though she has been dealt the short end of the stick in life, she still has a pretty soft heart, yet she protects those she holds dear, fiercely, and holds nothing back for those that wish to harm them.
Kohaku's voice is probably not considered the norm for any female her age. While her general speaking voice is soft to a degree, it has a slight accent and a boyish tone to it that could make it easy for her to be mistaken for male, especially if she happens to lower her voice to a contralto. Kohaku has a rather large vocal range and it has been a talent of hers that she honed while she was approaching her 16th year of life. She is easily able to go from a soft soprano to contralto and uses this ability whenever she wants. As a bard, it is definitely a useful talent. As far as her speech, she is still not extremely familiar with the Eorzean language, and sometimes will pause in the middle of her sentence to think of the correct wording.
When speaking with her, Kohaku tends to let her eyes do the talking for her. She is very expressive and one can usually tell how she is feeling just from looking at her. It can be little things such as a tilt of the or the motions of her tail. Or even bigger gestures such as the flitting movements of her hands when she is excited.
