Character

General

Scarlet Snow is originally from Ishgard, her mother being Elezen of unknown name (Elowen is rumored to be her name) and her father (Tristan Snow) an old time adventurer who settled down with a smith shop after becoming a father. Scarlet's past was always full of joy growing up with Tristan, from playing with her father to learning and helping him with his shop. Though her life seemed simple and loving, her thoughts always wondered off about her mother and why they lived outside of Ishgard. As Scarlet grew up, she met with an Ishgardian warrior with an irregular name (Akashi) who she befriended, and later they became more. Scarlet’s tragic incident washed away her past and gave way into a new one, the only thing connecting her to her past is a sword she carries and fragments of memory that occasionally are triggered by current events.

Appearance

Height: 7’ 3”

Weight: 220 lbs.

Traits: Scarlet's facial features include, a mole under her right eye and another on the left side of her chin. Scarlet has green emerald colored eyes, a feature she very proud to have. If she is expected to duel to the death or in a battlefield, she will display her Free Company traditional war paint that outline her eyes.

Age: 29; Because Scarlet is half Elezen, one can hope she also inherits a long Elezen life span, hopefully one day she can share the rumors involving Louisoix life span of being over a millennia old.

Personality

Scarlet is a very friendly and gullible person, always believing a bad person will change for the better, even when the signs say otherwise. Scarlet often shies away from a conversation, but if you get her going in a conversation, she will talk your ear off. Scarlet has a Strict Code of honor that she has modified and followed ever since training with Master Cota (Rafael Cota), and it is the only thing she believes should be followed by everyone. She constantly nags at Master Cota (Rafael Cota) for breaking his own code and getting her into trouble.

Combat

General

In her past, while she shared her life with Akashi, Akashi would teach her how to gracefully swing her sword. Later in her life, after her tragedy, Akashi lessons became her fighting instinct, but forgotten as to how she learned. Master Cota(Rafael Cota) later rescued her and bestowed upon her years of knowledge in the art of swordplay. Scarlet's fighting styles derives from two branches of style, the Samnite/Murmillo, in which she evolved for her own. Scarlet also adopted a Venator style, in which she uses a lance or spear. Scarlet never derives from her Code of honor and if the opponent can be spared, she will give her 110% to save the person life. Scarlet believes the sword is a tool to protect and not to be used to take life, even if other would not agree. Despite her young age for an Elezen/hyur, she is very collected. When a battle can’t be avoided, Scarlet is very collected and analyses the situation before attacking or defending, though her physical strength is not her key strength, she is able to use her opponents skills and own strength against them. Scarlet always tends to analyze everyone's skills, if fate would demands they be enemies in the future, she would be ready.

History/Timeline

Life Before the Calamity

Scarlet Snow was born on the 13th Sun of the 5th umbral moon, Daughter to a Hyur named Tristan Snow and an Ishgardian female elezen whose name is currently unknown. Scarlet and her father lived in Haldrath’s March where she lived most of her childhood. Scarlet's past was always full of joy growing up with Tristan from playing with her father to learning and helping him with his shop. One day while Tristan was out, Scarlet was taking care of the store on her own, an ishgardian warrior with an irregular name. The warrior came in with the intention of having his shield and sword repaired, Scarlet did not normally do the harder jobs around the store, but something told her, perhaps fate, to help the warrior. Time passed and the warrior frequently visited the store, with time Scarlet befriended Akashi, and eventually, the couple became more. With Tristan’s blessing Akashi visited more and more, but with every time Scarlet met this intriguing man she became more and more curious about what he did, she even went as far as to ask him to teach how to dance with a sword. For many months they shared days full of training and nights colored in love, but Scarlet did not realize her dream would soon come to an end.

On the 20th Sun of the 3rd astral moon, Scarlet’s life would change forever, leaving her life to be a faded memory. On this night a group of passing bandit set eyes on their shop. While Akashi was called in on the last minute notice the bandits raided the shop, breaking in and making their presence noticed, Tristan a very sturdy adventurer on his days, picked up a sword to protect Scarlet and himself, he swung his sword parrying as many attacks as he could, but this adventurer time had long passed, he was cut down in front of Scarlet. Scarlet panicked seeing her father slain in front of her, she picked up a sword, scared to the last fiber of her being, she swung the sword left and right up and down trying to repel them away wishing they would leave, but life is not always beautiful, one of the bandits was able to repel the sword with his own then striking Scarlet with his fist knocking her down to the ground. Hurt and humiliated, Scarlet was dragged by her leg out to the front of the shop, Scarlet came to her senses again and as she noticed she was being dragged somewhere she started struggling again kicking and screaming, the bandit who got tired of her struggling decided to hit her again, but this time he would have some fun with her.

Akashi who was coming back from his duties came upon the scene and without a thought, the warrior unsheathes his sword, the bandit fell to the ground almost instantly, Akashi position himself between Scarlet and the bandits to protect his love one. One…two…three bandits fell before Akashi sword, Akashi promising Scarlet that he would protect her, Scarlet beginning to feel at ease, almost safe, watched as Akashi defended her and moved around the bandits with skill and grace, but just when Scarlet thought it was over, an arrow was shot from behind her and struck Akashi from behind the knee immediately kneeling him to the ground. Akashi knowing the situation turned his head to Scarlet and left her with 4 final words, “Be strong…I lov……” before Akashi could finish he was slain in front of her. Scarlet's world was shattered in one night, she was shocked, scared, and paralyzed with fear. Soon after they finished Akashi the remaining bandits turn there to gaze at Scarlet, seeing her as to much trouble they used her, played her, and force themselves on her... When they were done, they left her for dead with a stab wound on her abdomen and made away with everything they could.

With the last of her strength, Scarlet dragged herself over to Akashi where she would lay her head on him, waiting for her life to end. One…two…twenty hours passed, it is uncertain how much time passed, a passing Free company investigating a sudden anomaly happen to cross the tragic scene. A member of the Free company clad in black armor approaches the site. Scarlet came thru from her state of unconsciousness and noticed everything except her immediate area was covered in snow, there was red snow all around her, she then noticed the man clad in black approaching. With barely any strength and convinced it was the bandits she grabbed Akashi’s sword and sprinted towards the warrior, but collapsed right at his feet.

Scarlet fell in a coma for 6-7 months, while her body and mind recovered, the calamity was set in motion and while she dreamed about events passed the moon finally fell...

A true Master

Scarlet, recovered in a state of coma for 6-7 moons. While she slept peacefully, Scarlet was unaware of the events unfolding around her, The Calamity was triggered, ending an era and starting a new one. This was maybe a sign of change for her.

On the night Dalamud reached its critical point, Bahamut was released from its prison. Scarlet, not aware due to her current state is unable to witness the destruction caused by Bahamut. The end of an era was hastily approaching, but before the destruction reached its climax, many who participated in the battle at Cartaneu Flats were teleported into a void, that same night, a bright light engulfed the room where Scarlet recovered, when someone noticed and investigated the light, it was too late, Scarlet had disappeared…

Between 4-5 years passed, Scarlet awoke sitting in a traveling cart being pulled by a Chocobo and a strange man speaking to her… Scarlet barely remembered anything of her past, she remembered a man clad in black armor giving her a name. This man said, “Lilium… no, it is to kind… Snow, that has a ring… I got it, when I found you, you were only a shadow of who you were. Broken, defeated, and humiliated you still stood up to protect the one you loved, You attacked me with a fire in your eyes… your name shall be Scarlet… Scarlet Snow… wear your name with pride” her memory being fuzzy at times, mixed other memories together, she then remembered seeing a man whispering to her, “Be strong………” as the voice quickly silenced itself.

Upon reaching the beautiful city of Gridania, Scarlet decided it would be the perfect place for her to start anew. Scarlet's first step was to find somewhere to stay and a steady source of income. While out and about, exploring the city, she met a particular individual who would become her first Mentor. Scarlet, while looking at a shop she had picked up a spear, while gently testing it out, a man with the name Ywain introduced himself, he complimented Scarlet form and asked her if she has was trained in the art of being a lancer. Unsure herself she denied having training. Ywain offered her the chance to be trained as one, but Scarlet refused the first time. Scarlet was worried that soon she would not be able to maintain herself. Scarlet explained to Ywain her situation and he went on to explain that not only she would be training, she would also have a lodge within Gridania and income from small missions at first. Scarlet decided to train under Guild master Ywain.

A year passed, and Scarlet earned a new life, with a new goal, living her life onward as a lancer, she became well-known and a skilled lancer. On the 13th Sun of the 2nd umbral moon, while out on a patrol she had to take on her own, Scarlet came upon a caravan which seemed to be headed to the Sanctum of the Twelve but was stopped by a wandering Malboro. Scarlet, hearing the cries of a child on the other side of the turned wagon, she immediately jumped towards the wagon with her spear ready in hand. The scene was terrifying, as the malboro reached out to the child, pulling the child with its vines towards its maw. Scarlet, quickly used her spear to strike the vine making the Malboro release the child. The child, terrified of the beast tried to hide in the turned cart, but the Malboro now infuriated used its vines to turn the cart while another quickly approached Scarlet. Scarlet evaded the vine that tried to impale her by sidestepping and then using her spear to push it to the side as vine grinds against the hilt of the spear, but from behind came another vine which slammed against Scarlet’s back, sending her at great speeds towards the turned wagon. Scarlet crashed against the wagon with great force, immediately breaking her right arm, now unable to wield her spear correctly, scarlet tried to only use her left hand, but the Malboro overpowered her easily. Scarlet looked around as the adrenaline in her slowed down everything, she knew her time was coming to an end, The malboro went in for its final strike to claim its meal. All Scarlet could do was turn around and wrap her hands around the wagon rail, where the child was hiding. Scarlet was trying to act as a shield for the child, knowing the strike was coming she yelled to the child to run away. Just as the attack reached its target, she heard a loud crashing impact. Still alive, she slowly turned her head, what Scarlet witnessed then would be the key in which turned Scarlet’s life into the path she travels now. Scarlet witnessed a man clad in armor standing steady against the beast, using a shield and a sword he would parry with his shield and quickly strike with his sword. Scarlet was able to feel this man’s presence, even as she would look away to comfort the child. This man’s presence almost suffocating to her, only kept getting stronger, when she looked back again to the man, Scarlet could notice an aura emanating from the man’s body, it then traveled to his sword as he leaped into the air aiming to land on top of the malboro. The man landed on the Malboro and immediately his sword was made to pierce into the beast, and as the beast burst from the inside with holy light the beast fell immediately. Scarlet was left wordless as she gazes at the man who had saved her. The man slowly approached her with few words and introduced himself, the man said, “My name is Rafael Cota, are you injured.” Scarlet barely said a word but nodded at the man in front of her. Scarlet then replied, “The child, look after him first.” Rafael Cota for a moment seemed to be gauging her, then proceeded to help the child.

The new beginning

A few weeks after the incident, Scarlet had found someone to truly follow and art she found appealing, not knowing that she previously had practice with this art before, she set out with Rafael Cota.

Scarlet following months were full of hardships and sleepless nights, this was the cost of her training. With time she became a good apprentice almost matching Rafael Skills, but still so far away. Scarlet admiration slowly turned to something more for the man training her, but it did not match the love she had for her new teachings. While training and learning the teachings to become a paladin, she discarded certain teachings she believed did not work in the world she is living and kept the ones that made sense to her, including some she modified herself until her own code of honor was born. Scarlet strongly believes the sword is a tool to protect and should not be used to kill.

Eventually, Scarlet started noticing Master Cota would go off alone and when he came back, he would seem to have seen battle. The actions taken by her master eventually would lead her to grow apart from him. Scarlet eventually met the reason why Master Cota would venture alone, at the same time, the man who would become Scarlet’s interest.

One day while following Rafael Cota on a walk, they both ran into a man, this man’s name was Robert Colt, almost immediately Rafael Cota challenged him into a test of might, Scarlet did not agree, but that did not stop Rafael. Scarlet turn to the stranger and pleaded him to return Rafael Cota safe, This man said with full confidence that he would bring him back to her, as they both walked away Scarlet could not help but gaze at Robert Colt as he walked away.

Time passed and so did the gap between Master Cota (Rafael Cota) and Scarlet Snow. Scarlet would often venture on her own, seeking answers to her life and helping people in need along the way. One day while out exploring Scarlet was drawn to the ever shade tree, being late she decided to make camp close to the tree. Scarlet’s night was not at all what she expected, while asleep she was awoken to the sound of grazing footsteps, Scarlet a bit panicked reach for her sword, but the sword was nowhere to be found. Scarlet cuddle to a corner where she could focus just In front of her, what she saw next would change the course of her life into a crossing. Out of a pitch-black shadow what seemed like a seer walked out clad in dark robes, the seer spoke to her in a soft disturbed voice, but the seer never moved his lips, the seer then handed her a pitch-black crystal and as she looked at the crystal, while it was being placed at her hand, Scarlet gazed and gazed into it she could feel a familiar presence, almost comforting.

The seer clad in black then pulled out Scarlet’s sword, from within his robes a simple steel sword could be seen being unsheathed. The seer used the sword on his hand drawing the blood from the wound into the edge of the sword, then the seer said this will hurt and before Scarlet could reach the edge of the sword where the blood was located, puncture slightly into Scarlet. Scarlet could only flinch as the sword penetrated her. Scarlet fell into her knee as an unfamiliar presence accompanied her thoughts. The seer removed the sword slowly from Scarlet and as the tip of the sword left her body some blood dripped unto her cloth and armor, but soon it could be seen trailing back into her wound. The seer then used the mixed blood on the tip of the sword and smeared it on the crystal, as soon as the blood touched the crystal it emanated a soft purple glow. The seer left the sword on the ground and disappeared to the thick pitch-black shadow behind him, as he faded Scarlet awoke to a beautiful morning under the tree. Scarlet looked around for the man, but there was nothing in sight but a few small creatures. Scarlet then felt as she was holding something and to her surprised, she was holding a crystal in her hand similar to the paladin crystal she has always had.

Scarlet walked for 3 days with no food or water, she was drawn back to her Master, while on the trip. It can’t be determined when Scarlet conscious was lost, but somewhere along the trip Scarlet conscious was lost and something else took over, Scarlet constantly heard whispers in her head saying “Kill him, he is not your master!” “Burn him, he has always lied!” “Cut him down, he gets in your way!” When Scarlet reached her destination she stumbled upon Master Cota where he could be seen training another apprentice. Scarlet stood there, a few yalms away from Master Cota and the apprentice, but was never able to move almost like she was frozen or being held back. Master Cota or the apprentice ever felt her presence, after the training was over Master Cota turned around to an approaching Scarlet where her conscious seemed to return. Upon reaching Master Cota, Scarlet said, “I did it master Cota, I found clues to my past!” she then passed out into the ground. Master Cota stood there worried for Scarlet and eventually noticed a crystal in her hands, he reached for it and the crystal reacted to him repelling his hand away.

Eye's of the void

((unedited raw story chapter))

Scarlet slept for days, but dreams of her past would prowl in every corner of her subconscious. Scarlet dreamt of her father, a mother she had never met, and Akashi. She slept for days while her body walked around on its own. While Scarlet slept, someone else was in control. Scarlet slept and she would hear faded voices echoing where she stood. "You... are...mine.." The voice softly echoed. Scarlet looked around wearing a worried looked on her features, she searched for the voice in a place where darkness embraced all, only her steps would light as they began touching the ground where she stood. "You are...dying..." The voice dragged in a faded tone! Scarlet could not help it anymore she began running, running unknowingly where her steps would take her. Scarlet ran for what seemed like hours until she would collide with a man clad in black. Scarlet now on all four she would begin to shift herself up and sit, but as she caught a glimpse of the man in front, the familiar features would make her eyes well up in tears. Scarlet quickly stood up and in a pouncing motion, she would embrace the man in her dream, "Akashi!" she would say out loud with tears of joy! "Akashi, I knew you would come to save me!" Scarlet tighten her arms around the black figure, "I knew you would... save... me!" Scarlet began feeling odd, but her happiness would allow her to ignore such feelings. Scarlet would close her eyes and then slowly leaned in to kiss the dark figure. With a kiss to what she thought was her love would allow her to wake up. Scarlet eyes would slowly open. The brightness of a machine would slightly bother her eye, but what surprised her, even more, was the man she would be embracing. Scarlet would still embrace the man as Akashi... to her it was her Akashi... The tall elezen would break the kiss she had unknowingly begun with Robert Colt.

Little did Scarlet know that the black figure was a voidsent mimicking her lost love. This voidsent who wanted more than just a next meal. A voidsent who had lived too long in the dark, And one who was tamed by someone who yet we knew about and her name was...Lilith. For the next three moons, Scarlet would have nightmares and small fragments of her demise, but then they would all be soothed by the memory of the black figure taking the image of Akashi(Lilith).

In the next few months, Scarlet began developing strange abilities. One night while asleep a strange creature appeared before her, a small eye with wings floating around her room, but it attempted no harm on Scarlet instead it landed on her lap and would cuddle as if a playful baby couerl. With time Lilith learned how to summon the same creature over and over unknowing to her that this voidsent had chosen her as her master. Scarlet even once open a small rift in the veil as she learns to summon her new companion. At this time Scarlet had taken residence with the company named The New Conglomerate a small but family driven company that did odd jobs Hunting, delivering items, escorts, and security to any individual who requested their service. She had taken a liking to a newly met friend named Markus Krosse, but unknowingly he would become one of her enemies.

One day while training with Master Cota Scarlet martial progress had improved way above Cota's expected margin. Scarlet was able to fend all of her Master's attacks. Eventually, it almost seemed as if they were equals, but her cunning master had already perceived the changes happening within Scarlet. One night while taking a break from training Scarlet approached Markus Krosse assuming him a friend, revealed her odd abilities, it was a grave mistake. This man had an odd ability embedded in his aether and it aroused Lilith's attention, that night Lilith took over Scarlet's body. Lilith communicated with the man about the odd scent that caught her attention. The tension between these two individuals soared to new heights and eventually they would meet in the outskirts of the city, lower Las noscea. In the end, a great battle broke between them and Lilith's voidsent abilities manifested completely. Clash after clash of there weapons made them wary of each other, but the more Lilith felt the freedom she had newly acquired she took more and more of the body Lilith would take over. When the fight felt like it was to the death Lilith threatened to drain his aether. At this point members of the New Conglomerate arrived to assist Markus Krosse even then Lilith fought them all evenly until Scarlet sensed the events happening around her. "Akashi what are you doing... why are you making me do this!" said scarlet trapped inside her mind embraced in Akashi(Lilith) arms. Scarlet began reawakening as Lilith lost control of the body, only to notice how her comrades were attacking her. Scarlet defended herself from the attacks until she was wounded. Robert Colt noticed the change in Scarlet and her composure. He withdrew his attacks from finishing her. He quickly noticed Scarlet was herself, but not for long. Scarlet wounds began to slowly heal and her eyes began to show a dim red glow. Scarlet did not know what was going on, feeling betrayed by the very people she thought were friends. A voice began to echo in Scarlet's mind as she lay wounded on the ground. "I will never let them hurt you..." A whispering echo bounced in her mind, "I have come to like you... I know now why Akashi wanted me to save you!" The dark figure in her mind soon turned to a tall Elezen with the very same features as Scarlet. Memories of her past came back to her mind the night it all started, the bandits, her father, Akashi, and Lilith. Scarlet curled up in a ball as she felt helpless remembering how she was used, toyed with, ridiculed, and how the cold kiss of a blade began ending her life. Lilith extended her hand towards Scarlet with an odd warm smile perhaps her very first one ever, "Scarlet I will never let them hurt you again. Give me your hand and you will never know pain, only the warm embrace of me and the void..." Scarlet had curled up in ball scared and helpless as she repeatedly watched her final moments. Scarlet felt warmness from this voidsent. She extended her hand to reach towards Lilith, unknowing what it would bring. Back in the real world, Scarlet started resonating. Robert Colt decided to abandon Lilith in her spot and to her fate...

We are Lilith On-going

((Unedited raw story chapter))

Scarlet watched injured on the ground as her comrades left her behind, voices echoing in her head disapproving of there actions. Unknowing to Scarlet, she gave in to the void and corruption that was Lilith... Lilith was now in control and hungered. Scarlet body hovered a few ilms from the ground as a dark sphere enveloped her finalizing Lilith control. When the sphere cracked open a new being emerged from it. Its first action met with the demise of an innocent bystander who traveled the road and was close enough to be sensed by Lilith. Shas Tarry who was involved with Scarlet/Lilith came to the scene along with others to attempt and save Scarlet, but little did Shas know her relation with Scarlet was also a lie. As Shas stood in front of now Lilith she attempted to speak to her, but all Lilith said, "It is too late now Shas. I was always destined to save Scarlet." Sha's eyes open wide, her hand attempting to stop Lilith from where she stood, but nothing could stop Lilith's hand from shredding thru the victim's abdomen, it was Lilith first mistake. Lilith released the victim unto the ground as her life slowly faded, so did Lilith fade into the void, "Don't follow me, don't come near me, forget me." Lilith's voice echoed in the air. The group that came to save a comrade did not say much. Their faces were proof they had tasted bitter defeat, but there the biggest question was where would Lilith resurface again, what was her motive now.

A few weeks later rumors of victims being dragged away into Burgundy falls and every full moon a body would float down the river. These bodies seemed shriveled, toyed with, and drained of there aether. It did not take long for someone to notice, being in Uldan territory a Sultan sworn was sent to investigate. This sultan sworn made its way thru the high bridge and then thru Welwick woods, being careful to not alert the local tribes. The sultan sworn suddenly stopped within the woods, he seemed to have been put on alert. "I am close...great..." said the sultan sworn sarcastically, "Now, I will have to investigate..." The man searched into his satchel gently grabbing a small device. The device seemed to reverberate in a low tone, "So that thaumaturge was right, it works as he predicted." The man then slowly made his way following the whispers into Burgundy falls. Meanwhile, in the burning wall, Lilith attempted full control of Scarlet body, "Why won’t you give in... I thought you had given up…" whispered Lilith as she sat on a corpse waving its hand around, toying with her recent prey. "Just give in... it is my turn to live... you weren't part of the deal!" Lilith squeezed the hand and the sounds of bones grinding and snapping could be heard, "Akashi! You tricked me again! Does this mortal mean more to you than me?" Lilith took a deep breath as her expression now seemed annoyed, "Again!" A small whisper echoed in her head, "Y-you monster... you tricked me... you murdered innocents! The echo seemed to lash out from within her abyss, "GIVE ME MY BODY BACK!" screamed scarlet. Lilith rolled her eyes as she pulled the hand out of place, the sound of flesh tearing echoed in her head, "You are in my body." said Lilith, she then smirked and continued, "You no longer have one... Do you not remember? Oh... please, tell me you remember..." Lilith laughed as blood trailed down her lips from a much-splattered bloodstain, having just fed from the severed arm. "I thought I finally had Akashi, but he yet tricked me or you, maybe both..." Lilith was interrupted as an unfamiliar scent came within her range. Lilith jumped to her feet with a concern looked on her features; "I see... they did not listen, they came anyways…" said Lilith as she tossed the human remains aside. Lilith grabbed her sword and began walking away from the incoming danger. "They are going to remove you... there is nowhere you can hide..." Scarlet's voice echoed within Lilith's mind, "Shut it... you don't know what you are talking about." The voice again echoed, "I do, you are going to be forcefully removed and when they do, I will scatter whatever is left...” Lilith smirked and said, "You will not be able to walk an ilm if I am removed... You have Akashi to thank for our predicament" Lilith laughed, "Now shut up... and enjoy the ride!"

Lilith stood on her feet and began making her way up to an Amalj'aa camp not far from the area. Some of the Amalj'aa scouts along the route would attempt to take Lilith thinking she was but a mortal offering for Ifrit, but their plans were ruined as Lilith revealed herself to them. Lilith emerged the victor of said fight, but it was enough for some of the sworn on her trail to catch up and witness the end of the fight. Romy Leonhardt a sultan sworn at that time reached the area she challenged Lilith first and was able to keep her from running away. The others that followed and seemed to be higher ranking Sworn were Anelia Sadowyn, Coatleque Crofte, and Sharla Blackheart. True to there promising The New Conglomerate Company also made their way to Lilith. Their combined force easily stopped the newly spawned void sent. Lilith has no choice but to beg for her life... At this point, Lilith began manipulating Sharla Blackheart using the Relationship Sharla had built with who she thought was Scarlet Snow. Anelia Sadowyn nearly beheaded Lilith but Sharla intervene. Sharla pleaded that there had to be another way and so Lilith also played along. Anelia did not agree, but the New Conglomerate Company also disagreed, Ninifae Nira had vast knowledge on aether and so managed to seal Lilith aether and was taken in as a prisoner, they would attempt to remove Lilith from her host Scarlet. Lilith smirked as she was being taken away and swore to herself, she would hunt down every single one of those Sultan sworn.

Lilith was held in the New conglomerate company where Scarlet's friends attempted to sever the voidsent and her, but Scarlet never listened, she only listened to Lilith. Sharla Blackheart felt responsible for not being next to her, that is how Lilith began working herself to freedom. She manipulated the sworn to let her go, promises were made and with time Sharla was able to free Lilith. Their agreement would not allow her to leave the premises, but why would she? Now Lilith secretly had someone to feed from. In the time of her being held all she could do was observe the members as they carried on their day today.

((to be continued))

Lilith unleashed on the land, she would come and go, searching and feeding as she needed too. It was up to Eorzea to change this fate.

The wandering city

((raw unedited chapter))

(7-8 years ago) The wind gently howled out in the distance of a green pasture where flowers could be randomly spotted with a variety of blends. Leaves danced in the wind as they are carried off to the horizon and faded, but approaching steps began to echo in the distance. It started with one, five, fourteen echoing steps, but in the end, thousands of people could be seen migrating. These people looked tired, hungry, suffering as the elements took there toll on them. Their appearance would signal anyone to wonder how long have they been on the road. A child walked alongside her mother, wearing worn moccasins and a staggering posture. The child falls to the ground as his strength fades from his legs and a mother's cry for help quickly echoes in the air. No one is ready to stop, no one is ready to share there own strength to help the child. The sound of chain mail is heard as a knight approaches the two in need and greets the child with a smile, "I know you must be tired, so I will lend you my strength..." Said the knight. This knight gently picked up the child and onto his back, he went as the child's head rested on his right shoulder, "Akashi... we can't keep going like this... we must find somewhere for these people to rest..." said an unnamed female knight who wielded a Curtana. The Knight uncorked her aldgoat skin water pouch and immediately tended to the child's thirst whispering to the child, "It will be ok... soon we will find a place to belong." soon the knight would smile warmly at the child as a ray of sunlight would caress her skin and blonde hair, her emerald green eyes were almost a heavenly sight. The child would smile at the knight as if his spirits were raised in the process. Akashi then said, "W-wait... where is my smile!" the child would shake his head wanting to keep the female knights smile all to himself. The female knight laughed at the child's answer, "They are all for these sweet children." the female knight would give one final smile before changing the subject, "We must continue... when you need rest Akashi, ill take over..." Akashi would nod walking alongside the child's mother who appeared grateful to Akashi and the female Knight. The sun lowered its warm gaze allowing the night to creep in on the weary wanderers who only sought a place to call there own. "Halt!" shouted like an echo a dozen nights who wore charcoal armor and sat upon there mighty Chocobo's. "Everyone set camp and use limited provisions" yelled another few knights. Akashi and the female Knight looked at each other and with one nod they knew what they had to do to help the people around. Akashi slowly lowered the now rested child and with one nod and a gentle rub on the child's head he would say goodbye. The child admired Akashi as he walked away, but then the female knight would come to the child and with one kiss on the cheek the child would smile innocently with no words to say, "Grow big and strong and when you grow up you can have another." said the Curtana wielding female knight. The child nodded with excitement before running towards his mother, "Mommy, mommy... did you see that!" were the words the female knight and Akashi heard fading away in the distance as they walked towards the front of the crowd. Akashi turned and gazed at the female knight with a small smirk and said, "You know I can help you have one of your own we just..." The female knight interrupted Akashi by punching him on the leather part of Akashi armor on the side of his chest, "You are such a pig Akashi!" said the female knight in a frustrated voice, "You will never change will you!" the female knight shook her head disagreeing with Akashi. "Nope... this is me!" Akashi said proudly before bursting out into a laugh. The female knight rolled her eyes as they both continued. ((to be continued! ((to be continued!))

My only Friend

((unedited raw story chapter))

(7-8 years ago)

"Akashi... Move out the way!" shouted a nameless knight who stood 10 feet from him. The nameless knight wielding a what seemed like a Curtana ran towards Akashi as a tremendous sized boulder was hurled from afar. The knight stood its ground against the incoming projectile whispering a strange chant. The knight raised her shield as a pentagram appeared over his shield stopping the boulder in place, but not before pushing the knight a few feet closer to Akashi, "You fool!" screamed the knight at Akashi, "You should have never left your shield for such an oversized weapon!" The knight smirked at Akashi before the stone began shattering and thru it, a winged voidsent came thru in the place of the boulder. A shriek filled the air as the voidsent laughed at the two knights, "You fools... you fools... you fools, I will feed upon you!" this voidsent repeated as she mercilessly struck the knights shield. The knight stood its ground mercilessly before shouting, "Akashi!" Soon Akashi readied himself leaping over the knight unsheathing a massive greatsword that any common man would fear in its wake, "You took what was most precious to me!" Akashi came crashing down slashing his greatsword in one great ark. The voidsent raised her hand quickly pulling the knight from where she stood to grab the nameless knight shield pulling it towards herself along with the knight, the knight mumbled, "What... in twelve!" as the shield became her safety, using it to stop the incoming swing, but burning her hand in the light emanating from the shield. The voidsent shoved the knight towards Akashi after his landing, making some space between herself and them. The voidsent still stood there smirking, laughing, taunting the knights, but then said, "You both come here with your light...". Lilith then turned to Akashi, "And you... Embracing your darkness, you are a bit smarter. You choose to understand the darkness before deciding if it's necessary to perish a life... You understand balance. As a reward your death shall be swift... but take pride you two have lasted this long against such a foe..." Akashi stood in awe for a few seconds before noticing that there were only two knights left from their entire battalion. Akashi gazed at the many fallen knights before the unnamed knight said, "What are you..." The voidsent slowly turned her gazed at the knight, still covered in the blood of her enemies, "You ask now what I am...". An aura of darkness began forming around her. The sky further darkens as if the immediate area existed only in the void, "I am your death..." a scythe faded her into her hands, "Are you ready..." Akashi stood there silent contemplating what could be his final day, "I am Akashi... you must have one as well!" The voidsent laughed surprised that such a formality in battle would now emerge in its final phase, "Akashi... you must feel it... death so close." The voidsent would smile catching Akashi off guard, "I am Lilith..." Both Knights readied themselves watching Lilith as she stood across the courtyard of the broken down castle. Lilith would also watch them closely, their unbending gaze met with a calm and would befall their surroundings, their senses tighten, the hum of the wind and the burning flames would ing in the distance. The flames further consumed the wooden beams and parts of the wall began to crumble, but to them, it was a signal of battle. Lilith did not hesitate, with a blinding speed she rushed at them with her scythe in hand she would slash towards the knight wielding the Curtana, "Die... die... die" Screamed Lilith, Akashi would yell at the knight, "Your shield!" The knight would raise the shield as she kneeled to fortify her stance for the incoming impact, but as the two met the scythe and the shield would repel her blow. Akashi taking advantage of the attack he would use the momentum to thrust the sword towards Lilith. Lilith would attempt to deviate the sword with her claws, but the knights already knew how to fight together an knew their strength and weaknesses. The sword was plunged thru Lilith's chest and a loud shriek could be heard thru out the castle walls, but that was not all Akashi did, he already had started charging a dark spell which he would then release from his hand and with a dark flash a blast would send Lilith across the room courtyard once more. Lilith would then struggle to stand as a large wound could be seen in her chest and her left arm was burnt to the bone... Akashi watched as the voidsent struggled to stand and for a moment it seemed almost human. "Why... why do you choose to live against us instead of living with us." The words would infuriate Lilith. Dark clouds would appear over the castle and thunder and lightning would surround the area, "You talk nonsense" said Lilith as bloody tears slid down her features and on to her armor. The knight wielding the curtana would rush quickly at Lilith, taking the opportunity of the inflicted wound to her advantage, just as she would have struck a shield wielded by one of the fallen would stop the incoming blow, at trick giving Lilith enough time to cast her spell. Lightning fell from the sky and would befall upon Lilith. She would wield one of these unto her hands, but upon her touching the lightning arks they would darken. She would launch it towards the knight in front of her. Akashi would jump into the fray quickly to save the knight from any harm he would plunge his sword in front of two, using it as a small conductor to dissipate the attack, but the blast would launch them away few feet. The two knights regaining the posture would gaze upon Lilith devouring the fallen and just as they would gaze upon such a horrible sight, Lilith's limbs would start regenerating, "You force me to be more then I should be! You mortals always seek that which should not be in mortal hands. Your kind first enslaves me into this and now you wish to destroy me..." Lilith's eyes lose their color to the red glow emanating from them as she now stands fully recovered, "I HAVE HAD /enough/!" yells Lilith enraged. The knights both struggle to get on their feet, but the knight wielding the curtana takes the lead to cover for Akashi losing his weapon, "Stay behind me!" Akashi nods before he saying in a worried voice, "I shall do what I can..." Lilith gazing at the knights approaches Akashi's sword and pulls it from the ground. "Hmmph, quite the sword..." Lilith smirks and resumes her attack. She brings the sword in an overhead ark down at the knight, but she uses her shield to reroute the incoming sword to the left while trusting her sword towards Lilith, "Hmmp" Lilith grumbles as her right-hand lets go of the sword and use her palm to attack the flat side of the blade making it crash with the knight shield. Lilith quickly tackles the man away and as the knight is recovering Lilith was already pulling the sword away from the ground to horizontally attack the knight's head. Akashi noticed the incoming attack and quickly moved in close enough to stop the incoming swing by getting inside the swords blind zone at the hilt of the incoming swing, he used his arms to clash with Lilith grip on the sword stopping the swing, but Lilith quickly used her right hand to impact Akashi on the chest, Akashi would roll back with the impact but the knight would cushion his impact. Lilith quickly lunged into the air coming down with all her strength behind the sword. The knight used his shield once more to attempt at covering Akashi and herself but the impact would be too much for herself, she was taken down into the ground pinned along with her shield, but Lilith did not stop there, she would relentlessly strike the shield with Akashi sword wearing down the knight's stamina until she no longer could hold or reflect them. Lilith would take a grip around the knight's neck lifting her from the ground in one pull and with the knight hanging from Lilith grip both almost lost hope, "Why do you disturb my peace... is what I guard that important you would risk your life!" Lilith laughs maniacally, "It is time for you to know if your makers are truly real!" Lilith released Akashi sword but then pull her left hand away from her victim, she was about to plunge her hand into the knight, but Akashi quickly disturb with words holding her hands out at Lilith as if attempting to stop her, saying, "W-wait, You guard this place yet you have not named what you guard... do you know what you do here voidsent?" The question carried its weight across the courtyard and into Lilith's ears. Lilith stopped her hand in place before even reaching the knight, while the knight yelled, "You waste your time Akashi this creature only knows to kill... kill it!" Lilith grumbled under her breath tightening the grip around the knight neck, but before her attack resumed Akashi yelled, "N-no... tell me what do you guard" Lilith again looked around the castle, not knowing what she guarded, only the imprinted command from whoever summoned her to such place, "Everything you see here is mine to guard..." replied Lilith in a firm voice still gripping the knight from his neck. "What if I could get you out of here, would you spare her!" replied Akashi desperately. Lilith gazed at the man and then over at the knight, "And what of your claims to be taking from you..." Lilith said as she locked her gaze with Akashi, "What of your revenge..." Akashi smirked and confidently said, "If you are what you are, we would gain more from helping you..." the knight bothered from what he was hearing, "Akashi... don't do this, nothing good comes from the void..." Akashi ignored the knight having embraced the darkness once before, he was determined to do it once more, "I will embrace this darkness for everyone... once this place is safe, think of all the people who can be saved..." Lilith watched as the knight kept struggling to get free arguing Akashi, "I won't let you further yourself into the abyss!" Screamed the knight before her sword was plunged into Lilith's chest. Lilith shrieked in pain before launching the knight thru one of the rock walls collapsing part of the wall on the knight as she landed on the ground. Lilith struggled to get the sword out, but could not. Now on her knee, she looked as Akashi approached slowly, for it was at this moment where the voidsent believed her time had come. Lilith closed her eyes as Akashi gripped the sword, "I have embraced the darkness, I shall embrace you..." With those words, Akashi sealed his contract with the voidsent, embracing Lilith in a kiss. Lilith transferred all her aether and being into Akashi as a small whisper said, "I hope you know what you have asked for mortal... thank you..." Lilith's body became ash as the last of the aether was drained the void atmosphere began dissipating only leaving void aether, but soon that also faded away. The sword collapsed the now fragile ashes unto the ground. Akashi released the sword unto the ground making a loud crash and as he looked around his eyes had a distinctive dim glow. A few hours later the knight emerged from the rubble, only to find Akashi missing from the area.

(3 weeks later)

A knight covered in a cloak with his face barely visible was spotted traveling towards Ishgard. "How does it feel... to be free of that place... As long as you don't struggle too much I can handle what you are... let us be... companions, perhaps one day... friends" Akashi made silence as if listening looking out to the horizon where an abandoned castle was being populated and reconstructed, "There both sides win!" Akashi smirks.

A Blackheart

((unedited raw story chapter)) (7-8 years ago)

Akashi quietly sat in front of a small bonfire, gazing as the flames danced to the sounds of the wildlife and beyond, he then gazed up at the stars that could be seen thru a blanket of green leaves and branches being embraced by the darkness of the night. Screams and shouts echoed in his head from his fallen comrades and the darkness from his abyss, The darkness in his heart was the sacrifice for what he thought was necessary to protect his loved ones. Just went it felt like he would give in to the darkness within another voice echoed in his mind, "That is not what we agreed upon..." Akashi shook his head regaining his posture and sanity, "Is it not to your liking?" says Akashi with a small grin, "I thought you would feel right at home." Akashi closes his eyes as he slowly laid unto the ground, looking for a comfortable position to lay his head. He slowly fades into his thoughts and he begins to see himself inside his mind, surrounded by darkness... "I seem to never be able to rid of you, can I" the abyss inside him seemed to surround him, ready to embrace his entirety, but within the darkness something darker, pitch-black walked thru it, and with a wave of her hand the encroaching darkness receded. There Lilith stood gazing at the man, "If you are going to give in to the darkness, I shall make sure it is /mine/ that takes you!" said Lilith, voice echoing in his mind. Akashi took a deep breath a bit relieved, but a small smile could be seen on his lips outside his mind. Lilith stood in front of Akashi, her arms crossed in front of her chest as her hips slightly leaned to her right, "You tricked me... I would have taken your soul by now if there was one to take... I see now to what it belongs..." Akashi smirked, "A sacrifice I made to protect the people I love, but even then it was not enough. Back at the castle, I did everything I could, but it was not enough... I did what I thought would spare even one!" Lilith gazed at the man quietly, listening carefully at what she taught was a rant! She rolled her eyes, and said, "Blame yourself for your weakness, your answer is to simply become stronger!" Akashi looked at Lilith with disgust, "You would not understand, you a voidsent who only knows to kill... Pathetic!" Lilith eyes dimly flashed red as the insults got to her, she raised her hand as if choking the life out of Akashi, but Akashi quickly repelled the attack, "You fool you are now inside my mind... it won't be as easy as it was back then at the castle... I have my skeletons inside here... I won't let you win so easily" said Akashi confidently. Lilith looked at Akashi with disgust before turning her back on him as if losing interest, "Fine... do what you want, you are already dead anyway!" said Lilith in a snobby voice. Akashi burst into a laugh feeling satisfied at the control he had over her! "Good... now let's get along!" Lilith looked back before quickly turning her head away, "You need me and I need you... I can attempt to get along... but if you need me to keep the darkness back..." Lilith allowed the darkness in his heart to take over his mind, while Akashi's body outside his mind seemed in pain, "F-fine... we need each other..." said Akashi as relief set in! Lilith smiled, enjoying how they both had power over each other! The darkness receded and so did Lilith. As morning set in Akashi woke up to the chirping sound of a bluebird, not wanting to move from the spot he laid, gazing and listening to the bird's melody. "That is an annoying sound eat it and be done with breakfast!" Lilith's voice echoed in Akashi's mind. Akashi made a straight face, before saying, "I was hoping you were just a nightmare... wait you would like that!" Akashi strained his thoughts and a Lilith in a Chocobo suit took his thoughts flapping her arms, "Oh my! Now there is a thought, the mighty voids..." Lilith slashed the thought from his mind, "W-what the..." Lilith's cheeks blushed, "That looked N-nothing like me!" Akashi could not help to laugh. "You are such a hog!" said Lilith waving her hand and pointing her finger at Akashi. "Who would wear such attire! Moreover, who would picture someone in such thing!" said Lilith. Akashi shrugged wearing a small smirk, "You are in my mind, the things that go on in my head... they are inhuman!" Akashi chuckled. "Great so not only do you trick me so I am stuck inside you until you release me... now I also have to put up with you odd thinking... this feels like an eternity already!" said Lilith. Akashi finally looked around and then stood up slowly picking up his belongings, "So what are your plans for us?" Asked Lilith. Akashi answered with some doubt, "I-I don't know... people who can sense your aether will be suspicious of me, although I was suspicious, to begin with. The art I carry out is seen as heresy, perhaps because they fear the abyss inside everyone." Akashi shrugs once more, "I'll make it up as we go along... how hard can it be!" Lilith carried hesitation as she said, "W-well... Make sure you don't get yourself in trouble remember this is not your body alone anymore!" As Akashi began walking away from his campsite he followed the bluebird around the forest thinking it would lead him to water or another source of food. After a bell Akashi heard the sound of a distant waterfall, "I don't know if the void has any water... but I hope you like this!" Soon after Akashi emerged out were many waterfalls met and there standing on the ledge of a deep fall he could see the clear blue skies that accompanied flying species of all kind and colors, at the bottom the sun would reflect from the clear water and the many plant life that colored the scene would leave Akashi in awe. Lilith would watch the scene with no words to fall from her tongue, she had only known the castle walls and the dying plant life from corruption within the castle. Akashi closed his eyes but within his mind, there was no darkness, there was no bad memories or distress from his past failures, there was only a scene of beauty reflecting all over his heart. Lilith's image appeared walking slowly towards Akashi's inner self, but this time Lilith had a different image, she did not appear as a powerful succubus, she had no horns, no claws, no wings... herself appeared as a tall Elezen. With no Sword, no shield, no armor, only her smooth silky skin, and her feminine feature were exposed. Akashi had to paradises to gaze upon, but it was Lilith who won this contest. Lilith wore a coy smile, "I believe this is what you thought I could be..." Akashi nods still in awe, "Mhmm" was the sound humming from Akashi. Lilith's dark aether began covering her body, becoming armor, and in her hand, a sword that resembled Akashi weapon appeared. Akashi's right eyebrow raised as he noticed the resemblance in there sword and Lilith almost immediately said, "Don't say it... I guess it was a good weapon!" Akashi nodded, "Yes it is..." Lilith and Akashi both stood next to each other as they watched the scenery. Akashi looked at Lilith and then at his surroundings. Akashi thought it was an opportune moment and was about to hold Lilith's hand, but before it even began, Lilith said, "I will chop it off if you do!" Lilith smiled at Akashi as he took a deep breath of defeat! Lilith looked away a bit and smiled warmly as a small blush appeared on her! Akashi and Lilith aether synced for the first time as if they were one being. While the two enjoyed there time outside a group of bandits watched as Akashi seemed to be speaking to himself... but what they found odd was evidence of swirling dark aether surrounding Akashi. Akashi had been in sync with Lilith unknowing that outside he had tapped into her aether. The bandits whispered among themselves, "Its a voidsent, we should kill it, take its things, and then ask for a reward from the locals!" Akashi caught the scent of bandits as a voidsent would, his eyes opened slowly as Lilith corruption took over his eyes, darkened traces of smoke seemed to be released from his eyes as his lips slowly formed a grin! Lilith's voice echoed in his eyes, "Are you ready?" Akashi said "Yes..." said Akashi as a dark helmet slowly descended unto his head from within grasp.
