Physique & Markings A tall figure descends from the ship proudly bearing the crimson uniform of The Maelstrom, company issued cutlass at her side. As she steps into the creaking wooden boards of the wharf, her gaze sharply scrutinize her surroundings until her deep green eyes stop on yours. She walks surely and firmly towards you as her stern look melts into a friendly smile, fierceness turning into kindness in her eyes. The young woman carries herself with overbearing confidence most probably born from crippling self-consciousness; not a move wasted, the cadenzza of her walk rhythmically martial. While she closes the distance between both of you, details in her face become clearer, like the few freckles adorning her pale skin and the playful mole right atop her upper lip. A prominent mark left by a scorned sword years ago is proudly displayed a few inches from her forehead down to the wing of her left eye, framed by her dark green bangs. You can see how the seasalt has chapped her thin lips as she stands in front of you and says in a reassuring tone: "Welcome to The Maelstrom, may your sword stays sharp till sea swallows all". Personality The tub was already overflown and the floor around it a mess when Lizette came into her senses. She was repeating the same mistakes in her head over and over again, convinced that if she played it enough times in her memory, it wouldn't happen again. It was not the terrible first impression she gave to the new crewmembers, she was used to that. Partly at fault was the unconscious tendency of her facial features to appear unwelcoming when deep in thought (what some call resting bitch face) but her voice certainly didn't help, making her sound haughty or angry (or both) when approached with little notice. Both of this traits were, she was sure, a bad habit created from having to prove her worth to everyone around her most of her life, but she was aware of them, and she was working on it. Liz had been told: "Once I got to know you I, realized you were such a sweet and caring person" or something along those lines so many times, she lost count (she was actually counting), and this time one of these new recruits will never say this words to her. It was killing her. She went over each step one more time: the introductions, the brief, the deployment... The absolute defeat. It was of no comfort to her that the new members of The Maelstrom had little to no real life experience, or that her acting superiors took the mission for granted and skipped the proper preparations... she gave the order, the weight was on her shoulders, and Thal, it was heavy. What mattered the most to Liz right now was that one of those sailors will never had the chance to get to know her. That he gave his life probably thinking on how unfair was it to die under the command of such an arrogant, overconfident and unsuitable woman. That they will never share a laugh at a faraway canteen over warm, nasty, official issued booze or that he will never tell her over a cozy fire in a Lominsan beach about his family and friends, or that special loved one he had to leave at home. His was a life she will never see getting off the ground, improving, making his dreams come true. Lizette wiped her tears and washed her face one more time. She stepped out of the tub and hurried. Over the table were a folded crimson uniform and a Maelstrom flag... she had asked for permission to deliver them personally. . .
