Lavena tends to lean on the side of being open and inviting, though she becomes verbally aggressive when someone has annoyed her. She's quick thinking, sarcastic and often fairly blunt about how she feels at any given time - a trait she picked up as a kid in her father's smithy or out on the Limsan docks. Lavena is fiercely independent; this tends to manifest in her social life with the idea that she's free to do whatever and whomever she pleases so long as there is a mutual attraction. It is not uncommon for her to take a partner home she has only known for a few bells and has no regrets in doing so.

Up until recently, Lavena and Aeric shared a home together. After coming home one evening and discovering her engaged with someone on the dining room table, he decided she needed a place of her own. She's always been a daddy's girl and the two are like peas in a pod, most days. It's just been the two of them since his wife passed away from an illness a few years ago.
Though Lavena has always been a daddy's girl, she and her mother shared a close bond. Svana was responsible for her daughter's education, which is what Lavena attributes to her business success. Svana died several years ago from a complication during an unplanned pregnancy.
Lavena and Sohma struck up a conversation in the Quicksand one evening and found they had a lot in common. Meeting again for dinner, it seemed their personalities gelled surprisingly well; the share similar interests, values and an outlook on life in general. Casual conversation became shameless flirting, then sweet words of genuine affection that she hopes will last. Strings of the heart connect at a much deeper level, no matter the distance or who you're with.
