Hardworking and earnest, she has attained a high level of proficiency with spellcraft through highly abundant methods of practice, and uses her abilities to aid anyone in distress. Some might find it difficult to take her seriously at times, due to her clumsy and skittish nature. Lighthearted and gentle, she is loath to turn to violence and will primarily seek the most diplomatic solution. Studious Sorceress Hair & Eyes Mina's hair consists of a straight combed, silken texture with a clean, lustrous sheen without so much as a trace of split ends. It extends to below her lower back and drapes over the sides of her face. The neatly trimmed, blunt bangs which blanket her forehead and nearly conceal her eyebrows are her "trademark" and she is never seen without them. A pair of soft and sincere blue eyes, deep as the ocean, are hard to ignore if you were face to face with her. Physique & Markings Mina is fairly petite. Her physique is plush and soft without any noticeable muscle toning. Her skin is completely unblemished by scarring or any sort of malady, as though she were built from polished porcelain. Being an Au Ra, she was born with many scaly segments along her skin, colored a clear beige. When invoking The Font, however, emblazoned symbols and runes which glow brightly with raw Aetheric energy will form in cryptic patterns all over her body and her face. They are ordinarily completely hidden from view. Hygiene & Attire Mina takes extensive care in her hygiene and appearance. She loves to bathe and make certain she's completely clean at least twice per day, especially after important assignments in her diplomatic adventures. Her regular attire includes a cherry colored hempen halfrobe with long sleeves and a brimmed, pointed magician's hat to match it. As well as a simple skirt beneath her waist and a pair of rather ordinary brown shoes with white socks. During holidays, she is known to get into the spirit and dress accordingly, especially when it comes to her favorite festival; The Starlight Celebration. Personality Psychological Profile Purehearted and well meaning, Mina is a rare quantity in that she doesn't possess a selfish bone in her body. Her self sacrificing nature will lead her to prioritize the weak and helpless who cannot fend for themselves, even at great cost to herself. She truly wants the best for everyone, even those who seek to do her harm. However, this can also be her greatest weakness. She is perhaps too innocent at times, and will exhibit great hesitation and stress when faced with a difficult decision such as sacrificing the needs of the few for the needs of the many. Mina can also be painfully naive at times, believing an outright lie if there was even the vague possibility that it could be the truth, much to the chagrin of those closest to her. Yet, at the end of the day, Mina manages to pull through even the thickest fog of doubt and uncertainty to find the best possible outcome. Voice Mina's voice carries a sort of meek, down to earth tone the majority of the time. Yet, owing true to her hidden potentials, she becomes more commanding and brave when the need is great. It was for this reason she was selected in the work of diplomacy for the beast tribes across the world. Philosophy & Mannerisms Mina hates pain and conflict with a passion, and wants to prevent death as much as possible. With single minded devotion, she continues her journeys and her studies alike in pursuit of allowing as many people to live peacefully as possible. At the same time, she is steadily learning that not everyone can be reasoned with, and at times force is absolutely necessary against those who are dangerous towards innocents. In terms of her daily demeanor, Mina is pleasant, chipper and smiles plentifully. At the same time, she is incredibly bashful, and her voice will easily break out into stammers if someone says or does something embarrassing to her. More often than not, however, she will be the one to embarrass herself the most, given her uncanny clumsiness. She will often trip, stumble and fall, landing on the ground in frequently awkward positions and usually covered in a lot of broken supplies or sundries. She is equally prone to being oblivious when said compromising positions cause certain interested parties to gawk at her, with the view she inadvertently provided them. Another of her strange quirks are the nonsensical words she'll spout which no doubt elicit many raised eyebrows from those around her. Where she learned these odd phrases is an astounding mystery. History Spells and Sounds, a Lizardgirl's Budding Tale Disclaimer: I'm not really a lizard. Honest... Sixth Astral Era Childhood Most would think to associate an Au Ra with the Othard region and Doma. Yet Mina has never known personally known these lands, having been born and raised within the sleepy Coerthan hamlet of Falcon's Nest. Her parents were non combatants, enabling her to enjoy a mostly peaceful and joyous life. The young Au Ra was bursting with curiousity, and would frequently find herself wandering about, exploring, when departing the village alongside her father, who worked as a woodcutter. Captivated by any books and stories she could get her hands upon, the young girl would spend many dedicated hours learning about the outside world and elder tales of times long past. Then the fated day arrived, Garlemald made to invade Eorzea from their immense flagship, the Agrius. At the same time, Mina and her parents, unfortunately, happened to be in the vicinity of Silvertear Lake; a favored vacation spot of theirs. They watched on helplessly as the great Wyrm Midgardsormr and his Dravanian hordes met the Garlean fleet in battle. Desperately attempting to seek cover, they fled when the Agrius and Midgardsormr crashed into the lake together, and would have been wholly engulfed in the terrible explosion of Aetheric energy that followed, forever polluting a once rich land into a desolate landscape. Mina, however, shielded her family from harm with her freshly awakened powers. Glowing vibrantly from head to toe, her entire young body was emblazoned with ephemeral, ancient and archaic-looking runic symbols as she withstood the terrible power from the lake to protect those closest to her. The Font had awoken, and its meaning was far beyond the comprehension of her concerned family. Seventh Umbral Era Adulthood Her parents would bring her home, attempting to avert suspicion from the other people who lived in the hamlet by keeping their daughter's awakening a secret. They feared the nearby Holy See would even brand her as a heretic, or worse. Mina herself didn't seem to recall the event, and so life went on peacefully with nobody the wiser. Or so they thought. Years passed, until one day a great and powerful sage named Yam Burlon, hailing from the distant and mysterious land of Radz-at-Han appeared. He seemed to be knowledgeable about what transpired at Silvertear and though they were reluctant, the parents were made to allow the sage to take their daughter as his apprentice. Though it was a sorrowful farewell, Mina believed she might learn to prevent future calamities such as Silvertear. The Sage was often a harsh tutor, especially on such a clumsy and pacifistic young woman, yet Mina gradually fought through her self doubt and became intimately endowed with all manner of magick, including a unique form of Summoning, though the power of The Font was still much too volatile and dangerous to truly be relied upon without many more years of honing her abilities. Master Burlon had honed her into a true Sorceress in spite of her lack of any outstanding talent, yet knew that no amount of practice or lessons would prepare her soft heart for what she must face. She needed to be prepared. In Recent Times Moving Forward Some time later, the Calamity had struck, and her mentor returned to his mysterious homeland for the time being. The events she'd witnessed until this point had shaped her to be a bit stronger, more ambitious. She dearly wanted to alleviate whatever suffering she could across Eorzea and beyond. Thus, she set out and continued to hone her sorcerous skills in her myriad of adventures. She eventually came to be known as a Beast Tribe Diplomat working on behalf of the Alliance of Eorzea. She would do all she could to dissuade them from primal summoning, as well as come to an understanding with the civilized men and women of the realm. Though she bore no outstanding grudge against Garlemald in spite of their actions, she remained wary of them, yet deep down hoped that some day they, too, could be convinced to approach a more peaceful solution and live in tandem with all others.
