A tall young Xaela without as much an air of seriousness about him in comparison to his rather intimidating kin. He's got a lean, fit build, developed over his years of wandering across the width and breadth of Hydaelyn and his training as a hunter. His hair, cropped short, is a vibrant green, matching the mostly green motif of the clothing he wears. Dark markings line his eyes and around the scales on his cheeks, accenting both them and his bright yellow-green eyes.

Scars & Markings: His hands are callous and scarred, an inevitability given his nature as an archer, though the fact that they are far less extensive than those of his veteran peers reflects his status as merely an adept rather than a master archer. Various minor scars from hunts and disputes mark the rest of his body in places, typically along his arms and torso.

Clothing: In accordance with his tribe's customs, he dresses lightly and wears little to allow him to better feel the wind's embrace. Though this varies from place to place given his tendency to travel often, he rarely blends in with Eorzean natives. Green is the theme he follows, opting to wear the colour most traditionally associated with the wind to show his affinity with it regardless of where he is.

Born to the nomadic Kujqai tribe, Raem was, for all intents and purposes, an accident. His parents, young and arrogant, had no want of a child, but when one was to be born to them regardless, it was accepted as the will of the wind. This acceptance, however, did not stop resentment or bitterness from forming. On the foggy day of his birth, he was given a name they had learned of in legend on their travels; the name of a terrible dragon in rural Eorzean faerie tale. It had been said the beast called Raem had appeared with no warning, bringing with it a poisonous fog that choked the land as it fed on the suffering of those who lived there. Perhaps to them, such a namesake felt appropriate.

In spite of this, his parents were not cruel people. They did what they could to put aside their feelings and raise him at least somewhat appropriately, not wanting to invite the wind's wrath for denying the fate given to them, nor willing to punish a child for his own making. He was often passed off to elders or left in the care of other families in the tribe while on their travels, and though this was commonplace among Kujqai, it was more often than not used as a cover to give his unwilling parents some few moments of peace. As he grew older, he would often travel with families not his own, growing up very much a child of the tribe until the day he was of age to safely follow the will of the wind alone and find his own path.

Given the circumstances of his birth, he was always destined to be a cautious, wary individual, and that is the man he indeed became. As though the clouds and haze of his nameday hovered overhead since then, he lived a life uncertain; unable to see what the wind's will would have in store for him. The only times he felt true certainty were with a bow in hand, having been found a skilled hand at archery even as a young boy, and raised alongside others by the tribe hunters. His careful and perceptive nature ensured he would be an exceptional tracker and hunter, and such was the role he took on among his people. Though he has no official place among the storytellers of his tribe, he also took to cultivating his love of song over the years, learning and practicing the songs and stories of the Kujqai on his travels. With a soft, melodic voice and ears as keen as his eyes, he's as formidable a musician as he is an archer. This he treats as more of a hobby than anything, though, using it as a means to fill silence on the road or earn some quick coin when in need.
