Character

Appearance

Reiko has red hair and brown eyes, which is often hidden under a cowl when in her combat attire, along with the rest of her face. Due to her short and slender frame, she has a bit of a complex regarding her appearance alongside more developed girls but this mostly stems from her own neurotic nature then any real self image issues. She often wears a short Yukata that is white and red and black glasses, though that that is mostly due to her being too lazy to pick up new outfits. That said she is known to wear shorts under just about every item of clothing she wears from fine gowns, to work clothes to mage's attire. Her combat attire is a black outfit and cowl, with several foci located upon the outfit, particularly on the cowl to aid in channelling and controlling the aether around her.

Personality

To most people, her parents and tutors especially, she is considered a 'proper lady', but in reality, she's short-tempered, prideful, and has an improper attitude with tomboyish tendencies, and a number of insecurities that people do not realise. Despite this, she is generally friendly and easygoing, and most people are surprised to find such a bookish and talented young mage to not look down upon people.

Often times she shows an incredibly childish, selfish, competitive side and even slight tsundere tendencies along with confused affections when confronted with people she may be interested in, such as Nananomi Nomi or N'rahki Tia. To add to this, childishness, she has an inclination towards cute things, most specifically, cute stuffed dolls, animals, moogles and chocobos, something that she is very easily embarrassed by if pushed. She is also prone to bouts of rather luminescent blushing giving away just how embarrassed and vulnerable she really is about feeling romantic love.

Reiko has a huge fear of bugs, and vilekin. She also has a neurotic side and is often worried about what others think of her, especially when around Tribal Miqo'te, Reiko was not born into a tribe so knows little about them.

Reiko also has a keen sense of justice and is always eager to do what is right, and can't help but get involved in adventure. That said she can get very trigger happy and seems to enjoy a friendly fight. When angered, sparks tend to fly as she loses control of the aether.

Combat

General

In combat, Reiko has a tendency to be rather trigger happy with her spells and does tend to cause collateral damage with her highly destructive abilities. She favours Thunder spells and lightning aspected abilities when using her magic, though she has proven that she is talented with the use of fire and ice spells, such as when she encased Sarcire Sinclair in ice. Still, Reiko is very creative with the use of her spells and is known for employing them in various creative and intimidating ways.

Despite being a talented mage, Reiko is not particularly skilled in close combat so if she is unable to create distance or disable her foe, she will tend to flee until she is able to fight on her own terms again, be it setting up am ambush, luring an enemy to more favourable terrain or simply running away while calling for help.

Her main weaknesses in combat are mostly to do with her being a purely ranged combatant. If she can maintain distance, she can rain down spells with impunity. If someone closes that distance, she often panics and is quickly dispatched.

Known Abilities

Fire/Blizzard/Thunder/Stone/Water/Aero - Reiko blasts her target with an aspected elemental attack. Her Thunder and Fire spells seem to cause the most damage.

Unnamed Thunder Spell - Highly destructive Lightning spell that Reiko uses to end fights as quickly as possible. Long windup time and requires focus, though once readied it can be released at any time. Often uses it to scare opponents into fleeing/surrendering from the sheer intimidation value.

Manawall- Her preferred way of dealing with projectiles. Reiko solidifies the aether surrounding her for a few seconds. Requires very precise timing on her part and can sometimes come too late. Developed it when doing Mercenary work alongside Daiyumi Maeda, mostly to protect herself and her cousin from arrows.Has used it successfully when defending herself and Lulula Lulu from Ahrimen, but it failed spectacularly when protecting Lulu (or herself) from a Giant Aevis.

Manaward- A shield for magical attacks. Reiko manipulates the aspect on the aether around her to dampen a magic attack. Has yet to use it successfully.

Physick - Used on Daiyumi Maeda a few times post-combat.

Unnamed Ice Spell - Used by mistake on Sarcire Sinclair, and again to attempt to trap some Ahrimen. Freezes the ground in ice, rendering it unpassable for some time, with those inside the radius being frozen to the ground.

Sleep - A spell that causes someone to drift into unconsciousness. Rarely used.

Unnamed Resistance Spell - Reiko manipulates the aether around her to become slightly aspected with Fire, Ice or Water in order to help cope with weather effects such as cold or heat. Requires focus with her staff, and it fizzles out if she breaks concentration. Currently working on an Aetheric Formula for the spell to use it without focusing.

Relationships

Family

• Daiyumi Maeda - Cousin - Reiko's beloved cousin and the primary reason she wears shorts under everything. Loves Yumi to death, but really wishes that she would stop sneaking up on her and teasing her while trying to grope and tease her more.

Friends

• Lulula Lulu - Closest friend. Considers her a little sister and has risked her life on a number of occasions for her. She refused to let her go to Coerthas alone, following her all the way there so that Lulu could save Peneli Zuneli. Described as the little sister she always wanted by Reiko.
• Bexy Amalaryssia - One of Reiko's closest friends. Looks up to her as a maternal figure, especially after she took her into her home and m,ade her part of her family.
• Nananomi Nomi - Disliked him at first, thinking he was an annoyance a best, and often joined in with Koko's scolding. Following the events of Vijara Windaar's death however, she saw his kind and sweet side as he was one of the few people truly there for her. Developed a huge crush on him that thankfully wound don after Nomi let her down gently. They now form an odd duo when it comes to countering Penny's antics and she see shim as a big brother.
• Mauh'a Relehna - Keeper Healer, and one of Reiko's other confidants during her time in the Kindred. Trusts him completely, and is one of the few Wardens she will listen to right away. One of the few that knows her true age, and she shares a fair few secrets with him.
• Nhyme Syvian - Keeper Healer. Reiko found herself getting along with her very quickly due to them both being family young. Is relentlessly teased by her following the Mistletoe event.
