GENERAL INFORMATION

Relavel Outtlaw is a whiskey drinking, bloodsport participating, hot tempered, Highlander and she'll be sure you know that. She's loud and blunt, her tact leaves much to be desired and she'll agree to a fight no matter how unlikely the odds of her winning. She's no hero and has no dreams or plans to be. She just wants to make a comfortable living for herself, preferably not on her back.

APPEARANCE

Near the lower end of average, Rel isn't all that noticeable in a crowd. Dark skin and raven hair keep her under the radar. Her dark green eyes often look black, especially when she's angry or in the throws of a fight. Her back is marked with criss-crossing scars, raised up from the crude medical attention given to them, a keen or knowing eye would recognize them as whip marks. Her face bares a scar that runs along her right eye, she's lucky to still have use of it. Other scars mark her body here and there, the nature of the job, she'd say. She keeps face paint on as often as possible, especially when in public, always of a blue shade.

Rel's attire depends entirely on what she's doing that day; fighting, hunting, lounging.

PERSONALITY

Loud. Relavel is a very loud individual, especially when she's been drinking. She's also highly inappropriate at the worst of times. She finds that she struggles to show more tender emotions and doesn't have a lot of patience to put toward growing romantic interests, burned too many times to think there's anything lasting to come from such efforts.

HISTORY

A Mystery

Not much is known about Relavel before she came to Ul'dah a few years ago. She began working to make a name for herself in the pits but has yet to accomplish this, making ends meet with odd jobs here and there, filling in as muscle when the offer arises.

But still there is a past there. A dark one at that.

Given away to marriage at a tender age, Rel, born Alvered, was excited for the new life and journey that married life held for her. To fall in love and raise children. It was a dream come true for a young highlander with her long raven hair and bare feet. A dream and only that, as she would find out only a week after the happy day. Speaking to her mother and father had done nothing, save leave her with a cold dread and a burning sense of betrayal as her father waved her away and said the deal was done, unable to look her in the eye.

Months went by, beatings continued, the once vibrant and happy woman child changed to a cowering creature that tip toed around to try to avoid outraging her husband. Brutal rapes took place instead of gentle love making and the heart shattering reality of what her life was to be. No happy ending, no children, no love.

It was shortly after the first year mark that her husband began bringing more men around, often chaining her up in their basement and allowing them to have their way with her, however they saw fit. She cried, begged, pleaded, all to no avail, he merely sat back in his chair, stroking himself while his young wife was used and abused in the worst of ways. Her mind broken after weeks of that, she was informed that she would be thrown into the pits as "bait". Give the crowd a bloody show to get them riled up, since she was "beyond use", in his words. She didn't know what any of that meant, but dread was her new friend and she knew it wouldn't be good.

The day she was suppose to go with this group of men, Rel took the pistol in the drawer of their bed stand, hesitating just long enough for him to wake and see her standing there, finger on the trigger and aimed at his chest. He laughed and mocked her, rising in fury to strike her only for the gun to go off and a wide eyed young woman, bruised face and swollen, busted lip her latest badges of abuse, watched her husband fall back to the bed with a bloody wound. Men ran in, screaming and shouting though she couldn't understand anything, her ears ringing. She was free?

But it wasn't to be, taken away anyway, Rel was thrown into the pits with a sword, for theatrics they said. Lifting the heavy steel in her shaking hands, she watched the beast the charged toward her, she'd never been that great at fighting, not horrible but she didn't prefer it. But in that moment, when her life was on the line, she swung, blade striking true just once and slicing the beast's head from his shoulders. The crowd was silent for a moment before erupting in a deafening roar of cheers. The young, broken woman in a worn sundress had slain a beast five times her size. She dropped the sword as she was taken back to her cell, threats for not dying ringing in her ears.

And that was her life for four long years. Rape, fights, whippings, all for the enjoyment and entertainment of others. She learned to fight, she learned to survive. The sweet young woman that'd had dreams and hopes of a happy life and happy children was long gone. She was sold as a slave several times, to fight for entertainment as always, till one day, on the auction block once again, a deep voice rose above the crowed. An elezen, with long blueish hair tied back in a que strode through the crowd with the winning bid, a bloody gash over his left eye. He looked to the naked woman, taking off his coat and wrapping it around her shoulders before pulling her down and carrying her away from the crowd and what she would later learn, his employer.

Rel would require many weeks of constant care, Lancefer, the elezen, sitting with her through her nightmare filled nights. Sitting with her through the miscarriage of a child to whom she didn't even know who the father was. She was broken and he did all he could to keep her together, though he didn't know what to do either. Little by little, Rel healed physically, drowning out anything else with plenty of whiskey and seeking out fights in the darker taverns that respectable people try to pretend didn't exist.

Now, a few years later, she does as she pleases, still legally owned by the Elezen Lancefer, but free in her own right as he merely kept the papers to protect her from recapture and selling, which Relavel was constantly afraid of. She fights and drinks, holding large fighting events often and burying her loneliness in booze and blood.

SINCE CHARACTER CREATION

Recent times

Relavel has decided to start and try her hand at the Grindstone, she's hoping this will be her big break.

Relavel has begun to hold back wood fights in a cave in Thanalan, spread by word of mouth, these fights are bloody and not exactly "legal" but those wanting to fight are more than welcome to for a small price.

Rel's "backwood fights" have evolved and now reside in a nice building that is also starting to grow and expand to host other events. She's thinking she'll be running an inn before long, she would like to help people... secretly...

Lance bought Rel at a slave auction while working with a slave trader. She feels a great deal of duty and gratitude toward him and holds a very special place for him in her heart, even now after he's gone.

I'm normally IC, but please send a /tell if it's a crowded location, just in case I miss your emote.

Personal RP Limits

Mostly, my main NO GO is trying to take IC things OOC, especially relationships. It's not really all that common but it HAS happened so I just want to keep it friendly and fun.

Ω I will play Basically anything, perma-death is where I draw the line, but otherwise mature themes (gore, violence, torture, etc) I am completely down to go with. I don't shy away from my character being seriously injured.

Ω Ask aboutPlaying family or setting up an IC fight. If you know of any events that are bloodsport or similar, please let me know!.
