He is extremely shy when approached by others before he chooses to approach them. While he is genuinely a friendly and bright individual, his trust issues make themselves present in subtle mannerisms like clamming up, tucking his chin down or refusing eye contact often. He tends to keep a noticeable distance from others he's learning to trust, but it's more of a compulsion than a conscious effort.
His relationships with friends will bloom quickly once his guard is let down, and he's incredibly affectionate both physically and emotionally. Ever full of compliments and eager to hold hands and hug, he brings warmth to those who tend to need it most, and feels it's his duty to be a pillar of support when the opportunity presents itself.
Standing at five fulms and ten ilms, Safey is above average height for miqo'te men by a small margin. Through therapy he picked up the axe, and from the waifish boy he was just years prior, he'd become quite toned, tough muscles winding over his arms and chest. His deep bronze skin remains mostly clean of markings save for the telltale checks at the inner corners of his eyes, however scars cover a good portion of his back, down his spine with a few stray marks behind his thighs. While not perfectly concealed, these scars are far less gruesome than they used to appear thanks to the aid of many dedicated conjurers who saw him through his recovery process.
Deep blue spiked hair peppers his head in a side part, partially combed back but still quite messy. His tail is long and skinny, often seen curling and twitching about the air when comfortable around others. His choice of dress is normally clean and casual, anything light and easy to get in and out of satisfies him. He prefers warmer weather and often spends time in Ul'dah, leading to short sleeves or no sleeves on most of his clothing. If given the choice to wear practically nothing in public ... he likely would, if only because he finds clothing too restrictive.
■ Flora Bright and colorful plants of any sort can set him at ease quickly, and he adores taking strolls through Gridania for this reason when he can spare the time.
■ Affection Given that he's come to trust a person, he will make efforts to gently headbutt them, hold their hands and remain overall close. He prefers to be the first to initiate this contact in most cases.
■ Learning Having to build his life from the ground up in just three years has been taxing, but learning things about the world has always been a pleasant experience for him. He enjoys simple books with colorful illustrations.
■ Yue'to As the man who helped him recover from an extremely dark point in his life, Safe would risk his life and possibly more for him.
DISLIKES
■ Big Crowds Too many bodies makes his mind hazy and his heart speed up. While he has a desire to enjoy events with large attendances, it becomes exceedingly difficult once he starts panicking.
■ Shifty Folk People who seem off, people who remind him of darker times, and people who give him an overall bad vibe. He becomes tense, silent and possibly hostile if pursued after showing great disinterest.
■ Unwanted Affection When others make advances toward him before he's accustomed himself to them, especially repeatedly, it's rare that he'll come around to like them.
■ Burdening Due to his disabilities, he often worries about burdening others, sometimes to the point of avoiding them entirely for extended periods of time.
QUIRKS
■ Selectively Mute Previously fully mute due to physical damage, therapy has seen his voice restored to some extent. He finds trouble vocalizing for extended periods, and is extremely self conscious about his raspy voice. If he feels uncomfortable at all, he will shut down and refrain from speaking entirely.
■ Boundless Energy Safe is the type to zip about until he's suddenly so tired he needs to knock out anywhere available for a few hours to recharge. He loves training, weight lifting and doing stretches, and will follow almost any order if it keeps him moving around.
■ Illiterate He was never taught to write, although he understands language well barring some newer slang. He is currently attempting to learn, however it's a steep curve and when he chooses to write instead of speak, his lettering is childish and he writes as little as possible to get a point across.

I am a casual roleplayer in Eastern Standard Time, and I prefer to RP in private among my close friends, though I occasionally pop into public RP areas/events for fun.
As always, IN CHARACTER is not OUT OF CHARACTER. Please understand that Safe's trauma & past issues are extremely triggering content involving child abuse and slavery. At no point will I be bringing them up in detail in public IC/OOC and will ask your consent if we get to a point where Safe divulges any information about what he went through. I don't enjoy or condone any of the terrible things that have happened to my character simply because I decided to write them into his story.
Seeing as how I'm old as hell, I prefer my RP partners to be 18+. Even if I have no intention for my character to develop romantic feelings for others, I can't speak for how another person's character may feel about my own, and it'd be a little weird.
■ DO - Anything from light-hearted, casual to more mature and dark themes welcome. Temporary incapacitation and injury, of varying degrees, is ok. Friendships, conflict and tension are ok.
■ ASK - Drastic character changing situations (marring, long term imprisonment, etc). Any extremely dark, violent, gorey or sexual themes are to remain implied, as I have no interest in writing them in great detail.
■ DON'T - Maiming that will cause permanent debilitation and permanent character death. ERP or sexual headcanons is also a no-go.
RP HOOKS
■ He's always out and about doing deliveries or gathering supplies for his employer, so he might be seen flitting between any of the markets of the three city-states. The usual products he buys are generally meal supplies, leathers and other misc. animal parts such as bones and horns.
■ He deals with his trauma through a therapist in Ul'dah -- perhaps your character was treated by another psychiatrist in the same facility, or has seen Safe about the area.
■ He frequents libraries often to seek books on basic lessons like grammar and history, maybe he's shared a drink with your character.
■ Like many others and due to his psych's building being in Ul'dah, he frequents the Quicksand often as a wallflower or while he's practicing his writing.
■ A J' tribe member may see his mother or father's face in him. (This one is fairly important to his story and will need to be plotted/discussed beforehand.)
