A seemingly simple Raen at first glance, Shion claims herself to be a fledgling conjurer hailing from the Far East. In reality, she hails from the prestigious Tokunaga family, one of notable power in the lesser-traveled mountainous regions of Yanxia. How one may find her entirely depends on what role she claims to play at the moment; Shion, the meek, stuttering mess of a healer, or 'Sparrow', a gun-toting exorcist intent on bringing justice to lawless lands and cleansing corruption when she comes across it. The two personas she plays vary widely depending on her company.
The face most commonly worn by Shion seems to differ depending on the company she currently keeps. When among strangers, she plays herself off as a stuttering mess of a novice healer, who knows little of Eorzea and its ways. However, around those who have either garnered her trust or have thrown off this mask, she reveals herself to be a well-spoken, though almost aloof woman. The former face is used to garner information easily for her other persona - 'Sparrow' - as few would think much of someone who seems so fearful standing around. While she does seem to have several personalities she plays, she does not seem to have a malicious intent behind them - it seems to be more of a carefully thought out observation plan than anything else.
Notable Aspects:
■ If one is to throw off her 'shy' face, she does make an effort to make the transition to her 'diplomat' face as seamless as possible.
■ It is possible to know her as 'Sparrow' and recognize her as Shion - it's not a secret identity, just another face she plays.
■ Despite her 'vigilante' face not being secret, Shion is unlikely to admit to being 'Sparrow' directly, unless one happens to catch her and make the connection.
Appearance
She is most commonly seen donning a finely made set of robes, which are a pure snow white in color. A keyhole cutout for her breasts is also notable on the clothing, as well as various small crystals among it; these glow faintly, though otherwise seem mundane. Alongside this, she wears thigh-high stockings and black mary jane pumps. Shion is rather attractive - befitting of one whose specialty is political socialization - with a youthful face. Her age is unclear, but she appears to be in her early twenties. Her eyes, chocolate brown with bright gold limbal rings, always seem a bit tired in part due to their naturally droopy shape; she often takes the time to put on makeup, though keeps it relatively simple - primarily winged liner, mascara, and a bit of concealer. Dark freckles dot her cheeks, going over a small, flattish nose; her lips are quite thick, often covered in a deep pink balm to keep them from being chapped. Her hair is a long, flowing chestnut color that falls in layers down to the small of her back. Bangs sit just above her eyebrows, feathered straight across, and the tips of her hair are dyed a rose pink. Her body is quite thin, though accompanied by a very large bust for her figure, and a well-shaped behind and legs.

■ Rather short, even by Au Ra standards - she's barely four fulms and nine ilms.
■ Sometimes wears black oval glasses - lately, though, she hasn't been wearing them as often.

Below is useful tidbits should you ever be interested in trying to attack/spar with Kiri. Please note that I am very open to gore and violence and am not beyond having my character sport an injury for days to weeks on end. However! Dismemberment, permanent damage, and even death needs to be spoken about prior in vivid detail/discussion before anything will ever occur IC.
■ Teir 1 Combat: An old Tier combat system from Cheetah/Yahoo Chat days. This system is something I grew up using and enjoy thoroughly. This system uses detailed paragraphs (I don't expect 4+ paragraphs) to explain actions that are being placed in combat. It uses a roll system which the person playing the attack will roll and the defender will need to roll higher to defend. Critical hits are welcomed in this system and often are considered if the difference between rolls are over 700 (using ingame /random rolls)
■ Designated Personal Systems: Everyone has their own system for group combat RP which they themselves made or they made for their Free Company. I am open to discovering, learning, and uses all kinds!
■ Slider Scale: While I do not mind a slider scale of abilities, I would very much like to limit my usage of this system in any roleplay.
■ Freeform/Honor System: I will only acknowledge the honor system with people I trust or know won't be literal jerks in RP. I will often request the basic roll system (See t1) for fights with people I do not truly know but am willing to Freeform/Honor system it if you can prove you are not going to just Naruto/Bleach up the fight as well as avoid EVERYTHING thrown at you, even within less then an inch of the attack.

A man equally as formal as her, the two met in the Airship Landing's bar. They hit it off rather well, and Shion found herself intrigued by him; over time, the two grew rather close, and as Shion explained her familial situation, Aedan agreed to hide her alongside him in Gyr Abania. Those days spent alone together have Shion realizing that perhaps she does have feelings for him, though she finds herself unwilling to admit this fact.

Their meeting was chance; out in the sands of Thanalan while 'Sparrow' hunted down a user of black magic. They later met alongside Aedan in the Airship Landing bar, though Shion found herself preferring Aedan's company over hers. As a result of strange circumstances, Shion is now employed beneath Ariette, and she often finds herself question Ariette's leadership skills. Her penchant for alcohol and other vices is also concerning to Shion, but she generally chooses to keep her mouth shut on that front.

A longtime retainer of Shion's. While she knows not the true circumstances in which Kagero was graciously 'gifted' to her family, Shion trusts Kagero unconditionally and loves her as a sister would. The Hyur's council is held in the hightest regard.

A longtime retainer of Shion's. The Xaela was given a new name upon beginning service to the Tokunaga family long ago. The woman's skills with polearms are second to none, and Shion feels her life has never been threatened if Mitsuba was around to protect her.

About the Player
Hi! My name is Kat. I'm a typical working class citizen living on the East Coast with a love for art, gaming, cosplay, and of course role-play. I've been on FFXIV for two years now, and I have played MMOs since 2007. I also DM/play in Pathfinder games, and have been doing that for a few years as well. Some of my favorite games are Okami, World of Warcraft, Skyrim, Overwatch, and Bravely Default. (Pretty varied, I know.) I hope to see you in-game!
■ My schedule is pretty irregular: I work in a restaurant, so there's no real telling when I'll be on the game! It all depends on my level of exhaustion and when I get called in. Most of the time, I'm on pretty late at night (12-5AM EST) because of this, so please try and work with me on that!
■ I can be a slow typer: When it comes to paragraph RP, I want to make sure I get everything right! I type pretty slow at times like this; with more casual RP I'm a lot quicker. Please be patient if we're para-RPing! If it's been more than 10 minutes without a reply, your post may have been eaten.

Guidelines
I do not have many hardcore limits. I love doing things for the 'rule of cool', or for general flair. However, there are some things that I simply will not allow, or need to be asked about, as listed below.
■ I will: Combat RP. One-shot RP. Long-term RP. Dramatic plots. Heavy, feeling-driven plots. Romance. Sexual Tension. Serious injury. Temporary injury and incapacitation of mind or body. Temporary captivity or imprisonment. Assassination attempts. Rivalries. Deep platonic friendships. ERP, if it makes sense within a plot.
■ I will not: Allow Lore Breaking. Allow my character to be killed. Injury that will leave my character incapacitated. Allow godmodding. OOCly planned romances, except under special circumstances. Random ERP with no plot development.
■ Ask about: Torture that leaves behind lasting, long-term effects (aka, longer than 3 months). Long-term and/or permanent injury. Long-term captivity or imprisonment. Significant tampering of the mind. Anything that is dramatically character-changing, or may have extremely negative implications for my character.

■ Communication is the most important thing in RP. Please, PLEASE tell me if anything I do makes you uncomfortable, or you want a certain thing to happen - anything. Working with each other is the best way to get things right, and spur of the moment decisions can be great and terrible. It all comes down to CONSENT, COMMUNICATION, and PATIENCE.
■ Lore on Yanxia is a bit... imprecise. I, personally, see it as a society much like feudal Japan, with daimyos in power, hired samurai, and limited rights for women. It is at the core of my character, and if you do not like this take on the lore, Shion may not be the best fit for you.
■ Entering relationships can be icky if they're done too hastily. It's one thing if you're a friend OOC and we know one another well, but please do not expect a relationship within a short time period. I like to give things about a month or two to build before entering a committed IC relationship, as that gives plenty of time for characters to build and get used to one another. RP happens faster than real life, of course, but I personally have had poor experiences with hastened romantic RP and wish to be a bit more wary - and in turn, realistic - about my relationships IC.
