He's easily described by his friends as "antisocial, but lovable none the less." Around strangers he may seem distant and hazy, taking information but rarely offering any unless it's strictly requested of him. In many cases he shows some measure of disdain when asked to do things that don't suit his routine, but he'll do most of what's asked of him. On the flip side, he isn't afraid to lay down a line when he's tired of being pushed around.
When comfortable around others, his sense of humor shines in its somewhat cynical nature, and the denseness he exhibits to near-strangers fades away as familiarity builds. He's much more likely to listen to the pleas of his friends when asked to do various tasks, though he often acts inconvenienced for comedic effect.
Although one could argue Silvan spends most of his time parked at a desk giving himself back problems, he does spend a significant portion of his time exercising to various degrees. Because of this, a decent amount of muscle winds around his arms, chest and thighs -- nothing extravagant, but enough to show effort. His skin is a medium bronze marked with few scars, the most notable one from the right corner of his jaw reaching toward the bridge of his nose. Choppy chestnut hair sits atop his head often left without styling further than a comb and his fingers, a scruff on his chin bearing the same rich color. His eyes, comparable to the hum of aether, are teal in color with a strange cyan glimmer in the light.
His choice of clothing varies greatly, but he's most often seen in any combination of blouse and vest with straight slacks and knee to thigh-high boots. He prefers to dress properly due to his upbringing, but a certain quality of his laziness brings out the desire to wear as little as possible, and this is especially apparent in his private quarters, where he can be caught wandering around in only his undergarments.

■ Stars Being an astrologian, it's only natural that he holds an intimate adoration for the sky and its energy.
■ Dance Having learned a number of dances growing up around nobles, he finds joy in dance though he's not a party-goer. Unfortunately for him, favorite dances involve a partner.
■ Challenges Only those closest to him would know it because of the fuss he puts up toward doing anything that requires extra effort, but he greatly enjoys challenges.
DISLIKES
■ Monotony What one loves can easily turn into what one hates. For Silvan, the ease of a routine can quickly drive him insane with how un-busy it makes him feel.
■ Melodramatic Types People who attempt to insert assumption as fact in order to garner favor or force panic.
■ The Church Although he has his own beliefs regarding goddess Halone, he despises the Ishgardian church and their overbearing ideals. As a result, he keeps his beliefs mostly to himself.
■ Drinking He doesn't hate it, and he has nothing against others who partake, he just prefers his wits about him -- what few he has.
QUIRKS
■ Echo Though not possessed of the selfsame echo many of the Scions boast, he's gifted with one strong enough to ward off tempering, but still experiences the detrimental effects of an attempt which often includes nightmares.
■ Endless Stare People sometimes worry he doesn't blink. Even he worries he doesn't blink. It's just an unfortunate side effect of him listening intently.
■ Fiddling He has a terrible habit of fiddling. Tools, hair, clothes, you name it, he will find some way to twist, tie or pick at it.

I am a casual roleplayer in Eastern Standard Time, and I prefer to RP in private among my close friends, though I occasionally pop into public RP areas/events for fun. Though Silvan isn't a terribly engaging character due to his nature, I'm totally up for headcanons and casual plots involving him.
As always, IN CHARACTER is not OUT OF CHARACTER. Silvan might be airheaded, he might misconstrue something your character says or intends, or he may be blunt. It's nothing against you as a player, but if you take issue with anything Silvan does, it can be discussed privately.
Seeing as how I'm old as hell, I prefer my RP partners to be 18+. Even if I have no intention for my character to develop romantic feelings for others, I can't speak for how another person's character may feel about my own, and it'd be a little weird.
■ DO - Anything from light-hearted, casual to more mature and dark themes welcome. Temporary incapacitation and injury, of varying degrees, is ok. Friendships, conflict, crushes and tension are ok.
■ ASK - Drastic character changing situations (marring, long term imprisonment, etc). Any extremely dark, violent, gorey or sexual themes are to remain implied, as I have no interest in writing them in great detail.
■ DON'T - Maiming that will cause permanent debilitation and permanent character death. ERP or sexual headcanons is also a no-go.
RP HOOKS
■ He spent his life from birth in Ishgard, only leaving shortly after the calamity as tension rose in Coerthas. He was born in the lower middle class, but managed to attend the Scholasticate much to the dismay of some peers. Your character may have known him in passing, from school, seen him at a gathering or party, or possibly been a bully of his.
■ He lived a few years in Ul'dah as an accountant, and visits often to exchange necessary paperwork, being that he's a member of the East Aldenard Trading Company. Your character might be an associate, or have simply bumped into him when he's stopped in at the Quicksand for a meal.
■ He's familiar with Coerthas and the budding acceptance of astromancy within it. Perhaps your character has a shared interest in astromancy, or even just a love for the stars.
■ His current residence and office is in Shirogane, and his business deals primarily with setting up and managing the finances and taxes of foreign businesses within Kugane. Perhaps your character has an interest in selling wares abroad under his name, or has come into contact with him on his ventures to Kugane.
