T'arl is fairly tall for a miqo'te. He was thin and wiry growing up, spending most of his time watching people and only some time doing physical activity like hunting. He doesn't look physically powerful, but he moves with a certain grace and speed that surprises people.
Under his armor he has long off-colored scarring from a few of the sandworm attacks he survived as a kid. The most are along his back from fending off attacks when he was with his childhood friend T'lyhi.

Biography

T'arl came from the Condor tribe of the Sagolii, a small sept in a very dangerous part of the desert far away from other settlements. The brutal environment and vicious sandworms took their toll on the tribe until the old Nunh perished and only a few women, T'arl, and another Tia were left. The other male was much older, saw more potential in the younger Tia, and didn't fight hard for leadership. Although unprepared for the role he took the responsibility seriously and did his best to serve his tribe.
He decided to get training and the tribe agreed to send him to Ul'dah. Upon arriving in Ul'dah he joined the gladiators' guild and threw himself into training. Although large for a Miqo'te most of the other gladiators are large, lumbering Roegadyn or highlanders. T'arl has focused on being fast and getting in under defenses during spars. This was a lonely time in his life where he felt isolated from the support he'd known his whole life.
He was still finding his way in the world and worried about his responsibilities to the growing tribe then. But eventually his tribe has joined him in Ul'dah as the sandworm plague has only gotten worse on tribal lands. T'arl decided to abandon the ancestral lands and settle int he Goblet, starting a trend of tribes living in the city.
The tribe acquired land in The Goblet housing area and have built a house for the tribe there, a more permanent residence than the apartment the growing tribe tried to fit into before. The tribe has become a fixture in Ul'dah, with a reputation for taking in the worthy tribeless. The tribe recently reconnected with their forgotten spiritual side.
T'arl cannot manipulate aether, which has puzzled many people who studied him. His aether seems to be "sealed" meaning he can't use it nor can others manipulate it easily. Despite this, he seems to be a natural conduit for aether, able to drain crystals by touch. There seems to be something here, perhaps relating to Azeyma, the Warden's touch upon him.
