History

Early Life

Tywin was born to two mercenaries that planned to settle down in a village amidst the North Shroud. Howard and Adele Chamberlain were his parents. His mother was a Bard in her own right with a caring disposition. His father was quite the opposite. He was a Paladin with a gruff manner and harsh treatments.

Tywin wasn't the first child of his parents. They had a daughter named Hannah who died as an infant from pneumonia. She was so sickly and seemed to have constant complications since her birth and when she finally passed from being overcome with the horrible cold Tywin's mother was beside herself. She withdrew from her father and the family was on the brink of being torn apart - that is before Adele became pregnant with Tywin.

Tywin was born on the 11th Sun of the 6th Atral Moon, just as Autumn had begun to take hold over the Shroud. His mother was again beside herself with joy. Adele spoiled the boy in love and cradled him wherever she went, be it to the market or household chores. Tywin's first word was even "mama" to reward Adele for her hard work. She called him her "darling boy" and nearly smothered him in protection - be it from his father or the outside world.

At age eight Adele deemed it early enough for Tywin to handle archery and took him under her wing, teaching him what she knew. The training last for a couple of years until his father deemed his was old enough to take of Paladin's training and eventually become a squire under his father. Howard's cut off his archery training when he was ten and thrusted a sword and shield into his hand. Because of this early training Tywin knows a fair bit about the sword and shield and is quite skilled in hand to hand combat allowing him to defend himself if it comes down to it.

Teen Years

At age fourteen Adele and Howard answered Gridania's call to arms in the months before the Calamity. They entrusted Tywin with the house and the chocobo that they were breeding. On a weekly basis he'd send letters to his mother and occasionally to his father when his mother asked of it.

One evening when Tywin was checking in on the chocobo pen he took a look up at the sky as he did during any other night. This night was different however, one of the moons were falling and the far distance and moments before its impact Tywin panicked. He felt his heart sink to the balls of his feet and he rushed back into the house. Something told him to pray to the gods that his mother had taught him to. He even prayed to Halone, his father and his guardian. His attempts proved futile, Dalamud fell and the Primal that it unleashed decimated his village. He barely escaped with his own life. The chocobo were all but dead save for the one he rode to Gridania. He named the chocobo Penelope.

Life as a Refugee

Tywin joined many others whose homes were destroyed by the Primal. However he refused to join many of those that were going to Ul'dah - the richer of the three city states. He hated the desert heat and prayed that his parents would come back from the war in one piece despite the feeling that he was alone in the world after the Primal's descent. His life as a refugee didn't last long, only until his fifteenth birthday where he got week's free inn stay in Gridania from some kind old woman.

His curious wishes were answered after he joined the Traveling Templar and met Jace through Nadeau Celeste a now mutual friend of theirs. Their friendship was near instant as they spent two nights talking: once with Nadeau at the Quicksand and the second alone at the Limsa Lomisan Garden Ball after some drinks.

Nadeau Celeste: Nadeau Celeste, leader of the Traveling Templar became a friend of Tywin's after he attended her company's Speed Meeting Event at the Fallgourd Float.
