That is usually only the prelude to a new tyranny, a new oppression. ❞ Appearance Bearing Laterality Scars Confident, elegant, regal. Right-handed. None yet. Hair & Eyes Silvery blonde since birth, Kyouko's hair is always perfectly kept and shaped. With years of hierarchical service, she always maintains it as though she's still holding her place in the nobility of her hometown. Since entering Eorzea, she's mostly kept it in a neat ponytail with her golden highlights woven into curly bangs just brushed beside her right eye. During formal occasions, however, she's known to let her hair down and re-style it almost as a showpiece, lowering below her shoulders and making her almost unrecognizable. Her eyes are very similar colours, but while one is a silvery blue, the other holds a slightly more purple pigment, though hardly noticeable unless trained on. They're very wide and expressive, her pupils and iris' drastically changing size based on her emotions or reactions. Physique & Markings Sporting an athletic figure, Kyouko holds the stance of a track runner. Her delving into archaeology and spelunking, as well as underwater cave-dwelling when she was younger left her incredibly well-toned. Her legs are significantly thicker than average, built from years of climbing and running. Her complexion is very smooth and flawless, save a hint of flush dousing her lips. Her ears point up higher than average, with a small rounded nose to contrast. Her skin is remarkably pale, only a small amount of sunlight having toned her over the years. Hygiene & Attire She always keeps herself clean and composed, properly washing and often wearing gloves. She also changes clothes very often, sometimes more than once a day. She's generally very liberal about how much skin is showing, un-socialized to the more conservative sexual implications of showing more skin than the next girl. Personality Psychological Profile Having been raised as nobility, she holds great ideals of class and, in general, does think herself higher than the average citizen. While aware her nobility doesn't hold in Eorzea or even the rest of Othard, she is very insistent that people respect her position of power, even if she doesn't intend to belittle others. While lighthearted and generally very sweet and compassionate, her strive for nobility can come off as rather crass and her pride can often take over her actions and course of speech. Socially, Kyouko is very uneducated and uncultured, and part of her reasoning for moving to Eorzea is to help her inner extrovert flourish, rather than the humble introverted lifestyle she was half-forced into before. She is also incredibly uneducated about other races, not even having knowledge of the Lalafell or Mi'qote's existence upon her initial arrival. She is incredibly questioning of these races and generally very curious about the entirety of the world around her, and will most often expect anyone to answer her every query. Voice Her voice is fairly high pitched and confident, used to many public speakings and addresses. She hardly stutters and is very articulate, but can be incredibly soft-spoken and delicate when the situation calls for it. She always seems to speak in perfect volume and tone, and even when she's unintentionally condescending will sound very obvious that it is, in fact, unintended. Social & Religious Views Kyouko grew up as an elected leader of a small socialist group along her archipelagos, and has always been held to a higher standard than all of her peers. It was very similar to a modern mayorship, though held for her entire adult life. While she did leave to set her own fate ahead of her, Kyouko very much believes in heirarchal systems, and generally will do what she can to keep herself high on those lists. As a member of the Raen, Kyouko too believes that her veins run thick with the blood of the divine Dawn Father. She holds this very dear to her heart, and has an unfortunate, though controllable tendency to expect others to know and respect that fact. History Kyouko grew up with her family in the Hingashi Archipelagos of Othard. They resided within a small cluster of islands occupied by many Auri, all of Raen. The Yasu family had been one of the oldest running in the area, and so the people looked to them for leadership. Toyo, the father of the Yasu household forged a stable economy, fair trade, open waters, constructions, and developed a near-socialist society who all held him within the highest regard. One of his advisors, Shina, had helped his coping for a significant period, and, in time, they fell in love, married, and became the regal Yasu family now charged with ruling their small acres of land. In their rule they had two daughters, Kyouko, named for the rivers struck between the islands, and Otokachi, named after her sister to tie their fates to one another. As they grew, both Kyouko and Otokachi began to explore the other islands, and became very well known on a personal level to most of the citizens. As the eldest, however, Kyouko knew in her adulthood she would be chosen as heir to her father, and sure enough, began to rule after his retirement. She ran in co-operation with her younger sister, and eventually made plans to pass the mantle to her entirely, of which the entire populace was supportive of. Kyouko had always had an obsession with Eorzea, the largest continent of Hydaelyn, and both Kyouko's mother and father knew eventually she would turn to make her leave. When she finally did, the township was prepared, and saw her off in a streak of glory and spectacle, hoping that one day she may return to tell them of her adventures. It was rare to see any members of Raen take so much pride in their community, but the Yasu family promoted the care of all rather than just the care of one's own. Kyouko, having plenty of experience journeying around at this point, made her way to Eorzea, to write her own path from then on, and to bring her family pride. Disclaimer: This character was built off a lack of content written for and surrounding the Hingashi Archipelagos set in Othard, the home continent of the Au Ra. If any more information is released, I will take the appropriate actions to re-write the backstory to remain lore-friendly. Sixth Astral Era Childhood Raised as the eldest daughter to the leader of the Yasu clan, hierarchy of the Hingashi Archipelagos, Kyouko spent a considerable amount of time in her childhood learning about her race, about the surrounding war of Othard their citizens had luckily managed to avoid, and things all about the world around them. The history behind Othard, the different indigenous species scattered about, the geographies of Eorzea, and several other topics before her younger sister was born. As soon as she could walk, Kyouko took her little sister on adventures all around the islands, and they quickly became very inspired adventurers and wanderers. AS time went on, their bond only grew, but the ever-looming threat of Kyouko's rise to throne was beginning to weigh upon her. Becoming the leader of the clan meant she would lose out on many of her previous joys, including exploring with her sister. She began to explore the ideas of moving outwards from Hingashi, and her first thoughts were to fight for the Raen in Othard. That very quickly looked to be futile, so Kyouko stayed put for a considerable amount of time, training herself in the art of ranged combat in case the prior futility subsided any. Seventh Umbral Era Adulthood After the Great Calamity, Eorzea became nothing less than the most interesting place Kyouko had desire to explore. Harsh, cold wastelands, brilliant lush rainforests, scorching, stretched deserts. She planned with her family to instead let her sister, Otokachi, take her place at throne for the foreseeable future, should Kyouko decide to return. The village was supportive and helped raise enough for her to book passage a few short years after the Calamity to Eorzea, and immediately found herself in New Gridania. In Recent Times Moving Forward Being a fresh citizen of Eorzea, Kyouko is still figuring out her next moves. She's yet to make any friends, and has spent most of her time exploring Eorzea on her own, constantly on the search for new friends, and on the hunt for new enemies.
