Physique & Markings X'lanya is tiny, physically speaking, barely standing under the 5 fulm mark. It would be a mistake, however, to assume that her stature means she's weak. Hygiene & Attire If given a choice, X'lanya bathes daily, and makes it a point to have clean clothes available at any time. As for overall attire, she goes for function and comfort, but is vain enough to want to look pleasing to the eye. Personality Psychological Profile X'lanya tends to be calm and level-headed, preferring her actions to speak for her. She's closed-mouthed around strangers or business colleagues, but around friends, X'lanya softens up a bit, actually having conversations and making terrible puns should the opportunities present themselves. Voice X'lanya's voice is surprisingly low and husky. Many people expect her to have a childlike voice to match her stature. History . Disclaimer: . Sixth Astral Era Childhood X'lanya was born to a part of the X' Tribe in Ala Mhigo, twenty some odd years ago. Her early years were spent play-hunting with her sisters, wrassling with her brothers, and generally being a nuisance that only kits can be. Around the time she was four, Garlemald invaded Ala Mhigo, setting up occupation of the city-state. For their part in trying to resist the Garleans, X'lanya's father was used as an object lesson and the rest of the tribe slaughtered or used for sport, a subject that she resolutely tries to forget but still gives X'lanya nightmares. The few to escape, fled to Ul'dah along with the Hyuran refugees. It was there that her remaining family drifted apart, some taking up entertainment to earn their wages, others marrying into other Seeker tribes. X'lanya instead choose to take up Thaumatergry and managed to scrape enough gil together to enroll at the Ossuary. Afraid she would be dismissed were her efforts not perfect, X'lanya spent every waking moment to her craft. It wasn't for a few years until she discovered studying the long, complex tomes was no longer a chore and that she enjoyed using the magic they covered. When she was seventeen, she had enough gil to go traveling and she wanted to know more of magic. She visited the ports of Limsa Lominsa, picking up the magic of Arcanum, staying with the Arcanists Guild for a few seasons. Still wanting more, the guild leader pointed her in the direction of the Conjurer's Guild in Gridania and when the snows thawed and over-land travel became possible, X'lanya left for the Black Shroud. At first, she didn't know what to make of a place with so many trees and the stand-offish attitudes of the natives suited her just fine; no-one would try to pry into her personal life. X'lanya enjoyed the semi-solitude during the trip to Gridania, but when she arrived and began her training with the Conjurers, her frozen attitude melted a bit. The guild master, E-Sumi-Yan, was patient with her, always encouraging her and gentle when her destructive magic would occasionally leak into a healing (thunder makes for an unpleasant but effect healing source). She spent the next two years honing her magic. When she was nineteen, X'lanya healed a child that had broken his arm after falling from a tree. His enthusiastic response gave her pause for thought. She could use her magic to undo some of the hurt Garlemald had done to her people. Taking her skills and blessings from her teachers, X'lanya returned to Ul'dah. She set up shop around Pearl Lane and for the better part of a year, began to do what she could for the Ala Mhigan refugees and the poor. Whether it was food, healing at a discounted price (no Ul'dahan would trust anything for free,) or simply finding whatever work she could for them, X'lanya did everything in her power to help. Then the Calamity hit. Seventh Umbral Era Adulthood The world was in shambles, the labor of her heart in ruins, and a good many people dead. It wasn't until Momodi invited her to join the Adventures Guild over several pints of ale, that X'lanya found purpose again. It felt good to blow up monsters with fire, to see villains laid low with magical viruses, to see nature strike back at its foes. It wasn't until she met Konran Rex and a few more of the people she would later call friends that her nihilist attitude changed. He pulls her out of lost-in-a-book oblivion and makes her laugh. In return she keeps him focused and reigns in his temper when it gets the better of him. She likes that they have common interests and that she can be comfortable around him. It both shocked and made her happy that Besh trusted her enough to share a vulnerable piece of his past with her and she fully intends to keep that trust. Khloe Lyehga, Clan Matriarch ✔ ● ~ X'lanya likes the Matriarch of the Shroudwolf Clan and is interested in getting to know Khloe a bit better. X'lanya enjoys Khloe's moxy. Sanja Polaali, Clan mate ✔ ● ~ X'lanya doesn't know what to think of Khloe's mate, but she does like that Sanja enjoys cooking and seems to have a knack for healing. However, X'lanya recognizes that Nauta has the potential to be an amazing ally in a fight.
