Pre-Calamity History

The History of X'vhana Vett starts with the circumstances of her birth. Long before she was born, her mother, X'leelha Shoka, had this deep desire for a child. X'leelha felt she was getting older and older and still she had not birthed a child with any Nunh. The reason why she waited to have a child was because she had a strong dislike, and in some cases, a deep hatred, for most of the males in her tribe. X'leelha outright refused to mix her blood with any of those males to create a child. After several years of resentment towards the adult males, a rare opportunity arose in X'vett Tia. Vett was a young, inexperienced male, however, he had potential. Leelha coaxed one of X'vett's friends into daring the young man to challenge a current Nunh at the time. By a stroke of luck, and some sly interfering on X'leelha's part, the young 15 year old X'vett Tia, had defeated the Nunh, and became one of the tribe's newest breeding males. So, on that very same night of X'vett's victory, the much older X'leelha hunted X'vett down, and mated with the teenager. Leelha knew the youngster wouldn't hold the Nunh title for long. As she predicted, the 15 year old X'vett was challenged and defeated the next day, and lost his position. However, Leelha had already gotten what she came for. She was pregnant with "X'vett Nunh", and she would have a child with a male she did not despise. Unlike other females of her tribe, X'leelha was very anti-social and self-secluded; especially after all the rumours of her manipulative nature. Leelha prefered to hunt, fish, gather and live on her own with her child, Vhana; though they stayed within the Tribe's territories just in case. Rarely did X'leelha help or ask for help of the others in her tribe. In fact, Leelha was often times considered hostile and abrasive towards other tribe members; except for X'vett, who she often greeted with a soft nod, or an occasional gift of a small share of her hunt.

Because of her mother's odd nature and devious reputation, when X'vhana Vett was a young child, she didn't have many friends due to the other mothers keeping their children away from her. X'vhana was the daughter of a cold loner Female and a young man who was only Nunh for a day. The gossip was rich at the time. X'vhana faced a lot of prejudice due to the circumstances of her birth. However, she grew up happy. Her mother was a great hunter, so X'vhana never went hungry and her mother was always with her so she was never lonely. When her mother was out hunting, Vhana would safely stay where she was put until her mother returned. Or, she would sometimes get the treat of being given to X'vett for the day, though this was very rare occasion.

X'vhana was 7 years old when the Calamity struck. Due to her mother's quick thinking, and vast knowledge of the landscape, X'leelha and X'vhana hid in a deep cave in Southern Thanalan. They survived the world shattering event while many of the tribe did not.

Post-Calamity

After the calamity, X'vhana and her mother lived a more nomadic lifestyle without the support of a large tribe. Something more reminiscent of a Keeper of the Moon. This lifestyle was fine, however things would not always be this way. It was when X'vhana became 12 years old did she begin to crave the company of others more than just her mother, and explore the world for its other cultures, and especially its cuisine. She wanted to become a chef. As all children do, she began to grow up into her own person. X'leelha did not like the idea of being separated from her daughter, however, she supported this newly found independence in Vhana, and allowed the girl to travel. However, there was one condition. X'leelha told X'vhana to seek out her father, X'vett, who she had heard had not only survived the Calamity, but also had grown up into a strong, and caring man. If X'vhana wanted to travel, she'd have to do so not only under the guidance of her mother, but also her father. So, her mission right now, is to find her father, and learn from him all that she can about life, the world, and how to be a good person. And, on her life journey, maybe she'll pick up some good recipes along the way.
