Zinnia Asclepias, or Zinny for short, is a shy Xaela girl who works at the Starlight Café. She can often be seen around the Café as it doubles as both her workplace and her home. When she's not the, she's most often traveling Eorzea in search of new and beautiful sights, or adding to her many fishing related accomplishments.

Being a shy and socially timid girl, she's uncomfortable speaking to strangers or in groups. Around close friends however, she really blossoms and can even be a bit chatty on occasion

Zinnia is a small girl, even for a Au Ra; she's thin, lightweight and her body is decorated by the black scales that mark her as Xaela. Her eyes are an iris purple colour and with thick black limbal rings. Her hair is of a beautiful lilac grey worn in whatever style suits her mood at the time.

When it comes to clothing, a maid dress is her work uniform. When off-duty her choice of clothing is a lot more varied, though it tends to fall in the White/Grey/Black/Purple colour range.

Biography

Zinnia doesn't know where she was born nor does she remember her parents. Zinnia probably isn't even her real name. No, Zinnia's earliest memories are of the cold steel walls of a Garlean prison and labor facility alongside the gruff, yet kind hearted, Roegadyn she had named "Big Guy", who protected and took care of her the best he could. Prison life was harsh as an adult, and even more as a child. Yet, despite the circumstances, Zinnia was a pretty happy girl and survived her time in there thanks to Big Guy's care. Zinnia loved Big Guy, to her he was the strongest, the coolest and the nicest. In her eyes no one could beat him!

However, things changed when she was 11. She caught the attention of the Wardens brother, Gaven dus Barsael on one of his visit's to the prison. Gaven made a request for Zinnia to be released into his care, something which was quickly approved. Though she was promised a better life, Zinnia did not want to go with Gaven and ended up resisting. Big Guy would have none of that and promptly punched Gaven in the face, breaking his nose in an effort to protect Zinnia. Unfortunately, that was a very bad move and Zinnia had to watch as the only person that ever cared for her was promptly executed before her eyes before she was dragged off to live in Gaven's care.

Zinnia didn't had much time to mourn the loss of Big Guy. Gaven was a cruel, sadistic man that had a thing for children. She was beaten mercilessly on a daily basis, forced to serve Gaven's every whim and punished even harder for the slightest of mistakes. Sometimes those whims even included 'serving' Gaven's twisted friends. For Zinnia, the relatively happy days, despite the hard prison life, were over. But she wouldn't give up; even broken and beaten she retained her will to live.

5 years later, she was still in Gaven's 'care', though after years of proving her worth and loyalty to him, Zinnia was on a looser leash and could at least move around freely. Little did Gaven know that Zinnia's loyalty was a complete facade as one night, after much careful planning, she managed to slit the bastards throat in his sleep and escape. She didn't know where she was nor where to go, since her knowledge of the outside world was inexistent. She just picked a direction and ran. And that direction was west.

Eventually Zinnia reached the edge of the Garlean controlled lands and entered the Black Shroud where she survived of foraged berries, wild game and fish for the next couple months, avoiding people and keeping to herself. One day, she was caught beneath an awful downpour that made her run for shelter. It was then that she met a wounded Keeper of the Moon named Ahno Thesra who was also taking shelter from the rain. Though Zinnia was wary at first, Ahno's kind gestures made her open up a bit. They shared stories of themselves and by the time the rain stopped, Ahno had offered Zinnia both a place to stay and where she could be useful. That place was the Starlight Café.
