Recent History

The Fel, as anyone knew kept a disparaging existence only made infamous for his stoic tone and non-fussed attitude. What little he shared was that he'd fought during the events of Cartaneau Flats though was gravely injured during the calamity. Since? his mind was on making an earning in whatever hell forgotten place that would keep him occupied. Many contracted duties and security detail. More notably acting as an enforcer to the Amanjina and Sons mining CO before his time served in various Free Companies and mercenary guilds. Many say his cold demeanor is from the constant scorn Zithen endured growing up, an adopted and illegitimate son of an Ishgardian.

Family History

Before, his life was divided. Betwixt the upper hills of Coerthas and the Limsan valleys that reared him far from Ishgardian lineage. His mother, an un-notable class from a working family. The name of Zadiel carried little weight if not for the birds that they reared.

And his father of Durant, a far higher standing family most assuredly above their station. If not for the interest in the stock of their birds the union would never have been forged.

The house had earned a self made badge of nobility pulled from the gutters just two generations passed and into prosperity through merchant means. Most calling it a shallow bloodline - a nobility of capitalists and common hucksters. This had earned not much in the way of peoples hearts and was only contingent for deep coffers and the quick wit of an opportunist not shy to take a gamble.

The legacy of which lay upon eldest son, Thibault Durant. The chance to expand business and trade to the south would only be realized with the stock of good birds in which to carry trade, yet couldn't have been established with more notable breeders. And so the second eldest, Jacques Durant was set to marry the daughter of the homely ranch owner, Zacheray Zadiel, to Auriele Zadiel in return that the sales and renown of the family would be buffered should he be able to expand his investment through use of their fowl.

Years passed of marriage, but circumstances fated Auriele to be a widower and the Zadiel family was stricken from the record of Durant, cast aside to the outer reaches of Coerthas for reasons unknown. Auriele, was forced to relocate to Limsan soil with but a few workmen and close family willing to accompany her. Thankfully Limsan trade routes improved upon the renown of their birds and the means in which to dispatch them, their name became stronger than ever on merits entirely of their own. And steadily the years returned the sales and relations with Ishgard - Auriele, however did not return to pastures of Coerthas in official capacity.

Zithen, most assume adopted by Auriele knew no life but one of politics and conflict. His mother's Ishgardian legacy called about tales of grandeur in which the boy aspired to since before he could scarce form memory. And try as he might to form bonds with his uncle and likewise Ishgard he was fated to be scorned for reasons beyond his kinship and the closest he got within the city walls was to the old ranch pastures to visit his grandfather whom had remained on family soil. That was until the curiosity of his cousin, bore fruit to branch the gap left in the wake of Jacques Durant's passing. Whom happened to stow away on shipment to their Coerthan Ranch during such a visit forcing Thibault to recognize Zithen's existence as Auriele's son...

The years that followed ensured Zithen's stay in the north were for far longer a duration. Idolizing the tales of his late father whom fought in the war against the wurm. Shared and provided by a far younger though insightful cousin, Neraveth Durant. Constant escapes to the country from his cousin formed a bond between the pair that few could break even with the low born name of Zadiel.

Zithen, upon coming of age sought time and time again to fight in the war under the Durant name, in honor of his late father - slowly did he toil within the city of Ishgard, barred and discouraged by the Durant household whom still refused him the right to take up arms for their house and be sworn in. Constantly scorned and berated, Zithen would never see acceptance from the like of his kin and much less the household of his late father. And as the fruitless years stagnated, Zithen finally subdued, seeking glory in the south, through Ul'dah and within the Immortal Flames...

Current Situation

Zithen's wounds from Cartaneau were so severe it changed his life completely, severe enough that he was reported dead. And his name is stricken from record... His time spent in low profile jobs a means to keep himself unnoticed.

Combat

Lalafellzihench.jpg

For a Lalafell Zithen's ruthless efficiency with buckler and sword were of proportions rarely seen in the immortal flames, to the point it was said he hardly carried himself as a fel' at all. A keen strategist Zithen used his smaller yet robust stature to offset the balance of his enemies, often rending the hamstring tendons behind the knee, the achilles tendon or the Tibia tendon (The shin). Though short in stature Zithen was not lightweight, purposefully training his dense muscular form to withstand harsh punishment and the ability to don even heavier armor. His lower center of gravity rarely saw issue with bowling over hyur-sized advisories.

And if all else fails, Zithen is no stranger to hurling his buckler with great accuracy...

So oft is his stature taken for granted that victory is almost assured through his more brazen opponents. Those that respect and discard racial prejudice are often able to fight him evenly.

Tendencies

Likes

Solace - a man to himself Zithen rarely seeks an audience with other people.

Discipline - Anything but a loose cannon, he approves of order and organization often shunning those of a chaotic and unkempt nature.

Food - No really it was about the only thing he does that isn't reserved, favoring anything well cooked. He is a decent cook himself and is seldom able to pass up the opportunity of a good meal. The only thing that could really lower his guard in social company.

Dislikes

Disorder, fickle and contradictory personalities, shallowness, lack of respect, lack of discipline and manners. And above all lack of professionalism.

And just about everything....

Hobbies/Talents

Rumor has it Zithen was a versed in culinary arts, practicing only to further upon his mothers home cooking. Beyond cold exterior he was quite the artisan of coerthan pastries.

Relationships

Family

Mother: Auriele Zadiel
Grandfather: Zacheray Zadiel
Father: Jacques Durant
Uncle: Thibault Durant

Tailero Tilero - Half Brother

Tailero was a scout within the flames whom Zithen fought along side and tutored. As it turned out he was his half brother through strange fates. Though now proclaimed dead, the tapestry woven between Tailero and Zithen Zadiel remain complex and unclear. Zithen did grow fond of the boy, and still does not know of his passing.

Neraveth Durant - Cousin

Neraveth is possibly the only person Zithen entirely trusts outside of his mother. Their friendship was a bond stronger than most brothers even in the short time they spent together as children. Though presumably a cousin, Neraveth is actually a son of Auriele. Whom had an affair with his father Thibault Durant. After the passing of his brother; Jacques Durant. Neraveth was allowed to be raised under the name of Durant since his Sharlayan mother was unable to conceive children. Though this was never made public knowledge.

The adultery committed by his mother is the reason Zithen struggled to commit to the war effort. The Durant's elder generation did all they could to remain disassociated with him and to halt his advance within ishgardian society. Though forced recognition of his lineage, and to keep the matter of Neraveth a secret, his cousin fought for him to be allowed into the city.

Friends/Enemies

Romantic Interest     Sexual Desire   Familial Love      Good Standing     Neutral Standing     Poor Standing     Deceased     Work     Wary     Feared

Zithen has made far fewer friends than Enemies in his lifetime. Those he does hold on to are close as family. Most others come and go in passing - but over all, he holds people in little regard.

Aanzo Dinzo - Would-be-Bro-fell

Aanzo was one of few members that visited the halls of the Kindred Estate that Zithen was able to tolerate, though that said a lot considering Aanzo was also the brunt of most unfortunate jokes surrounding him at the time. He quickly became involved with the company of Trident through regular members but Aanzo was at the first and foremost of his dealings with them - and the first person he sought out upon leaving E.R.A - seeking a place in which Tailero would thrive, knowing the older Lalafell would act as a stand in mentor after he was gone. For no much more of a reason than 'he trusted him to do the right thing'. Maybe it was the wrong call, maybe it wasn't.

Organizations

Kindred:

Zithen's time spent serving the kindred was tenuous at best, though he formed bonds quickly with the head of their command he took it upon himself to act as a stand in security whenever he could. The unorganized methods of management however and disagreements with the misuse of their on-site facilities in rather inappropriate fashion saw him leaving with a friend, whom offered him a chance to start over...

E.R.A:

Perhaps even shorter was his time spent in E.R.A - a company founded for the aid of eorzean refugees at the time. His relations with the majority of E.R.A went well until the many disagreements took its toll, torn between loyalty to his friends and the need for stability saw him leaving the company after an outburst. His mother had become a prisoner to a Garlean encampment - whom he personally failed to rescue. Auriele died staging an uprising against their garlean captors whilst en-route to the capital. Her actions saw the rest of the captives free, though she gave her life. This event, however, was too much for Zithen to handle within the company and he took his leave, remaining off-grid to grieve his mother's passing.
