It is quite soft, alike to down feathers, and well-taken care of despite such appearance as lends an unkempt nature to it. The courtesan's eyes are milky white, pupil appearing far paler and fogged than black - almost to the point it is scarce there. Physique & Markings Serdtsevina is a lithe, effeminate man - unnaturally small in comparison most Auri men, effectively a "runt" for all intents and purposes. His form is that of a dancer - subtle musculature hidden well beneath smooth snowy skin, a thin frame, long legs and delicate, beautiful hands. There is little to mar the unblemished white swath he cuts wherever he goes, save for severely discolored skin around his eyes; a product of terrible insomnia he has lived with for years. Hygiene & Attire Serdtsevina prides himself on being well-kept and clean, despite living in a climate which does not always make such things easy. As a courtesan, he must appear presentable and desirable at all times - and even were this not a necessity of his work, Serdtsevina has never been one for letting himself go dirty for long. His attire is that which one would expect of a high-class entertainer such as he; silks, satin, jewels and silver glittering at all angles, decorative coins jingling along his hips from sashes and belts, tiaras and coronets that would befit royalty. All of this and more - Serdtsevina is expensive, and whether intentionally so or not, he looks the part. Personality Psychological Profile Aloof and distant, Serdt lets few people see him as he really is, preferring to remain apart from others so he doesn't get hurt. One could say he wears many masks: that of a courtesan, mystifyingly attentive and with a sultry undercurrent to every movement, every action or word; that of a sociable upper-class citizen, eager to spend afternoons discussing anything from Ul'dahn politics to new tea blends; even beyond that, a man who is kind and far more gentle than he wishes to let on, a man who has seen too many hardships and come away the worse for them. There are too many layers which stand between the outside world, and the broken soul hidden beneath smiles and silk; few may ever hope to peel through all of them. Speech Serdtsevina is a well-spoken individual, his voice carrying subtle regal undertones; though despite his origins lying outside Eorzea, he carries no distinct accent or strange vocal tics that would be noticed as odd by native speakers. Just as with his personality, Serdtsevina's speech can ebb and flow into various forms, akin to water which fits itself anywhere it wishes. He can speak as properly and gracefully as a high-born noble - too easily, really, for one who supposedly has not come from such brood - and other times swear as heartily as a Lominsan pirate, though he is more akin to do the former than the latter. His vocabulary is equal parts common and learned, and while one moment Serdtsevina could be speaking to someone as easily and normally as any other, the next he could be speaking as if a poetic giving form to thoughts, an artist shaping air into beautiful paintings brought to life with nothing more than a voice. Mannerisms Outwardly, Serdtsevina may appear to have little in the way of particular quirks or subtle, unconscious movements - at least, none which would stand out as odd or unusual, no more so than the everyday mannerisms of any other within the realm. Yet look closer, or catch him when he is unawares, and you would begin to see things which heavily tell of the man's disability, as well as the efforts taken to keep it from hampering his day to day life. Serdtsevina has a habit of tilting his head towards noises, sounds, or voices - the latter more so than the former two, perhaps an unconscious attempt to seem as though he is making eye contact with the speaker; a polite gesture, meant to hide the fact he cannot see another's gaze at all. Similarly, the courtesan tends to run fingers across surfaces - walls, corners, doorways, even foliage - perhaps in an effort to envision them, but more than likely a habit brought on by his need to orient himself at all times to locations. Sometimes, he may even reach out and touch upon or trace over another's features... but rarely would the man do so in public, and especially not so with those he has only just met or barely knows. Impropriety as well as a wariness to grow so close to another outside of business arrangements keep this particular unconscious action at bay. Preferences Likes ● Tea. This is totally okay, so please don't feel as though you need to match me word length for word length in order to RP with me - I'd much rather have small posts than have my partner get overwhelmed or tired out due to trying to match my pace. Take pride in your own writing no matter the length or style! Exceptions. While I’d consider myself a “mature roleplayer” there are a few exceptions and things I just won’t RP. No rape plots. ERP will only happen between my character and whomever he has chosen to form a relationship with - do not pressure I or my character, ICly or OOCly, for sex scenes. Please respect my character's marital status; Serdtsevina is not someone who will cheat, and I will not become involved in adultery plots. Drug usage and violence can be discussed. Plot-Driven. I love creating storylines, especially with my RP partners! "Tavern" RP is also fun, and I definitely don't mind meet-and-greet types of scenes (I even prefer them to start out with!), but I'd like to build upon foundations laid out and really get the characters involved in all manner of things together, be it adventure, drama, or even just some slice-of-life stuff. Nitpicking. Please don't do this. I by no means mind questions for clarification purposes, or pointing out any majorly grievous typos you find in my writing - but please do not nitpick every single thing in my response due to not liking how I have worded something or simply feeling you cannot understand it as presented. If it becomes that much of a problem, we more than likely do not mesh well as RP partners. So rather than attempt to force me to change any small detail to your liking, I ask you simply do not continue attempting to RP with me. It will make us both happier. Lore. I’ll be the first to admit that I’ve got a lot to learn about the world of Eorzea but also really enjoy adding my own flavor to the mix. While I won’t blatantly break any lore that I’m aware of (and will do my best to correct things should lore surface down the pipeline as patches come out), I like to be creative and have a little uniqueness in my own characters, as well as headcanon lore stuff where there is lack of information. All I ask is that if you are very lore heavy, just be civil. If you notice something of mine contradicts the official lore in any way let me know. Other Stuff Posts. My posts can be considered "para" by RP standards, and I am one of the dreaded "purple prose" writers. If you dislike long or wordy replies, let me know and I will do my best to adjust accordingly - but do not ask me to completely change my writing style for you. When it comes to in-game RP, I will always attempt to keep my posts within manageable length to accommodate the flow of face-to-face RP, as well as be considerate of our surroundings (and also keep in mind chatbox text limitations). Where. I tend to favor RP outside of the actual game and generally prefer doing most of my RPing via PM on the RPC, or on shared Google Docs. In-game RP is something I do plan to do sparingly (when Serdt has been moved to Balmung), but if you prefer this, I will gladly meet you in-game for some casual RP once I'm on the server! When. I’m CST, and usually work 8am to 2:30 or 3pm on weekdays.
