Gender Female Race Miqo'te Clan Seeker of the Sun Citizenship Ul'dahn Age Mid-20's Occupation Mercenary Orientation Homosexual/Polygamous Alignment Neutral Good Affiliation None given GENERAL INFORMATION Sleepy Cat (Pronunciation: sleepy cat) is a young Seeker woman with a laid-back attitude and an excellent knowledge of Ul'dah and her surrounds -- from the geography and the history to the happenings throughout, both legal and questionably legal. While recent times have seen her as a bit of scarcity in the city, if you look in the right places, or perhaps ask the right people -- there she'll be, ready to help. APPEARANCE Her chest and arms (and indeed her whole body) is a patchwork of faint and not-so-faint scars: claw marks across her right shoulder, a gash along her right side, scratches across her neck and a stab wound over her heart stand out in the tapestry. As well, her left arm from below her elbow is a magitek construct -- vaguely humanoid, stripped down, and with no attempt made to hide its nature. Her tail is especially thick and strong, and her eyes are brilliant oranges and golds.. and rarely, one turns red. Sleepy has a very athletic physique and takes some pride in it. PERSONALITY Impulsive, warm and determined, Sleepy is rarely without a kind word for the kind, and a harsh word for the cruel and deceptive. A lifetime spent in service to Ul'dah and her people in various ways has given a very humanitarian colour to her, and a lifetime of her own hardships and the hardships of others has left her both uniquely caring, and more than willing to fight for what she believes is right, against who she believes is wrong. To those close to her, she is immensely loving and supportive, seeking to mend and inspire. To her enemies, however, there is very little to appreciate except for her ferocity. LIKES Books. Sleepy is rather well-read for an orphaned street girl, owed partly to her background as a thief. She is an amateur scholar and sometimes-conspiracy theorist. The desert. While many see an inhospitable sandpit with a commercial center wedged somewhere in the middle, Sleepy sees something beautiful -- life prevailing underneath the oppressive heat, which she has come to have a unique handle on. People. As introverted as she can be, there's little Sleepy enjoys more than interesting company. Or boring company. Or any company, really: she's not picky, even when she perhaps should be. Technology. Magitek is now an unavoidable influence in Sleepy's life, owing mainly to her prosthetic -- to that end, she's gone to considerable lengths to teach herself as much as she can about it -- but there's always more to learn. DISLIKES The elite. Sleepy's impoverished background wasn't the only factor in her unrelenting (and sometimes unreasonable) hatred of those that have money, power, or both. Shinobi. Sleepy tends to regard shinobi negatively, seeing them as conniving, dishonest tricksters with no clear motive, which means they could be out to hurt her, or the ones she loves. Don't ask why she's engaged to one -- everybody's got exceptions. Men. A bit of a misandrist by trade, Sleepy's noticed a particular trend in the sorts of people she's had to deal with in her work -- and adjusts her attitude. Most won't notice anything but subtle distrust, but catboys beware. Eft. She just doesn't, okay. STRENGTHS Physical conditioning. Sleepy's no slouch. Her strength and her speed are remarkable, and she can free-run and climb up many things almost effortlessly. Determination. For that she holds dear, Sleepy can not -- will not give up. Empathy. Sleepy holds a mysterious attunement not only with her own emotions, but those of others. She can project her own -- or draw upon others -- however, there are drawbacks. Integrity. Sleepy's word is something she has not broken yet -- for good or ill. WEAKNESSES Panic. In the direst of situations, Sleepy focuses on survival -- she rarely considers any but herself, and is prone to spiraling into depression, manipulation and self-indulgence. Impulsiveness. Sleepy has quite a few problems with speaking, or acting, before thinking. Paranoia. Even as she reassures herself, there is always some part of her waiting for the inevitable betrayal. Zeal. Sleepy can rarely be put off a course of action once she decides on it. CURRENT INVENTORY This is a list of the items that Sleepy normally keeps on her person. MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION Face Claim: N/A Body Claim: N/A Voice Claim: Feminine Rick Grimes COMBAT & WEAPONRY With an assortment of knowledge of various combat techniques, Sleepy can adapt to a variety of situations -- and though she boasts a particular degree of mastery with a greatsword, she rarely utilizes it since the incident that cost her her left hand. She relies on her strength and pressing her advantages, as well as battlefield improvisation. REVOLVER A revolver given to her by Owen Winters, tailored to her size and gifted alongside various specialty munitions. She especially enjoys the ones that explode. KATANA The magitek katana she 'liberated' off of a trade ship is her personal favorite weapon, suiting the Seeker's... well, it suits some need, else she wouldn't be so fond of it. She appears to enjoy the sounds it makes when it unfurls. KARAMBITS Sleepy doesn't speak much about her karambits -- two identical, ominous blades she generally keeps slung around her hips when she's out headhunting. She's very adamant about not letting people touch them, and only draws them herself on special occasions. DARKFIRE Common enough in use for Sleepy to consider it part of her arsenal, Sleepy taps into her darkside to lend an edge to her affinity with fire magics -- something even she doesn't entirely understand, but if it gets the job done. Sleepy's time in the Coeurl Kissers saw her with many friends, but none so close as their mysterious Seeker conjurer who served as the gang's mender and envoy. Without so much as a name to go by, she happened upon the group a time after the Calamity, forming a strong and immediate bond with Sleepy and aiding her in her studies with the Conjurer's Guild. Sleepy found herself with feelings she'd never had before in her life, but when her gang was sold out and ambushed, the woman was among the casualties -- giving her own life to ensure Sleepy's survival. J'yek Tia, the traitor. ( ✖❖ ) Sleepy’s Thoughts: "He's where he belongs, now." Smooth-talking, conniving and a remarkable pit fighter, J'yek was the Coeurl Kissers' finest. He'd always maintained an neutral-at-best relationship with Sleepy, and as her aims for the group rose above thievery and community service, so too did his impatience. When he was sure that Sleepy has swept up the others with her talk of revolution, he made the decision to sell them out to the Ul'dahn Syndicate and relinquish most of their assets, in exchange for amnesty. Sleepy's possession of the gang's ledger complicated the task, however... and after two cycles spent hunting her throughout Coerthas, all he was given for the efforts was a particularly cruel death at the hands of the spurned Seeker. ( ♥♥✔🔒 ) Sleepy’s Thoughts: "I'm sorry..." Sleepy insists she doesn't play favorites -- but Khena has made her come the closest to recanting her words on the matter. Khena quickly became far more than the confidant she had been the night they met, quick enough to catch the once excessively flirtatious miqo'te off guard, and enough to get her to actually consider settling down and conducting her love life with some dignity and standards. She tasked herself as Khena's personal bodyguard when a threat loomed over her freedom, and in the time it offered, she grew closer still, proposed, and planned to marry her sometime after a business deployment. She only got as far as finalizing the ring before Khena was taken: something she holds herself personally responsible for, in addition to the strange and terrible fate that's befallen her in the meantime. ( ♥♥✔🔒 ) Sleepy’s Thoughts: "......" For a time, Wyra was simply the strange woman Khena occasionally associated herself with. Actually getting to know the woman was an adventure in discovery, however -- from hers and Wyra's shared fates as dark knights, to the depths of their feelings for one another... in what has been an irresponsible and reckless affair. Romantic politics aside however, there are few that Sleepy would call closer friends than Wyra, and none can argue that their friendship has had as many benefits for both of them as its had grey areas. Jayley Salyt, the marketeer. ( ♥✖🔃 ) Sleepy’s Thoughts: "Just give me a godsdamned reason." Whatever understanding feelings were held for Jayley have all but died out. Sleepy sees Jayley as a threat -- to herself, to Khena, and to others. To say she is keeping a close and vicious eye on the woman is an understatement in the extreme -- like any enemy of Sleepy's, they are watched, they are judged, and she waits for the right moment to strike. Be that by blade or belittlement is a thing remaining to be seen, but for Khena's sake, she will maintain a stifling civility until she can no longer. BRASS BLADES/IMMORTAL FLAMES: Sleepy is an ex-Flame Sergeant. In her tenure, she constantly berated the Blades as 'sellouts' and 'mercenary fucks', and made a point to harass whatever patrols she came across, which ranged from harmless pranks to redirecting Blade patrols halfway across the Sagolii on 'important business'. Within the Flames, she is cited as a capable soldier and decent squad leader, however she had been cited for irresponsible behaviour and eventually retired from service. Both will know she was recently extradited to Ishgard on charges of multiple murders, something the Flames find divisive and the Blades don't really give a shit about. She's gone through pains to hide herself, however. UL'DAHN CRIMINAL ELEMENTS: Sleepy was a key player in a small gang of bandits and enforcers known as the Coeurl Kissers, who primarily concerned themselves with the safety of refugees and escorts, as well as heists and thievery targetting the Ul'dahn elite. The entire group seemed to disappear overnight, and may very well have faded into obscurity, save for some who may have recognized the miqo'te helping them out: she took special interest in confronting those who took advantage of refugees. For those complete undesirables on the fringes : Sleepy recently enjoys hunting down irredeemable raiders, murderers and slavers. She is not particularly nice about it, and might be known for her brutal and detached methods. TEMPLE KNIGHTS: As far as the Temple Knights are concerned, Sleepy.. or the 'Coerthan Wildfire' if you must, is being held 'somewhere in Ishgard' for her crimes, which include five counts of murder against the organization. It would be rather strange for one to see her out and about. SEKISEIGUMI: Sleepy petitioned for permission to be a street performer under an alias. The Sekiseigumi are only vaguely aware of Sleepy by her looks, and would likely not recognize her at this point. So chances are, you won't offend me or make me uncomfortable unless you're trying to or just being really skeevy in general. Sleepy has entangled herself in a variety of relationships, from casual, to loving and healthy, to dangerous and selfish.
