"Sil'tel" is best described later, when I've had sleep. Lots of it. I'm tired, you see, and writing something both legible and interesting right now creates a problem for my brain on both counts. Sil'tel is really very interesting when properly detailed, I assure you. Right now she wouldn't be, though, because I'm tired, as mentioned, and simply don't have the will or coherency to do produce any kind of dutiful description. Sil'tel is a small, furry marmot the colour of bubblegum ice cream. See? That's the kind of crap I come up with when I'm sleepy. I'll do this later, and you're gonna love it.

Character
Name
- Given Name: Sil'tel Ferima (Sil - tel | Feh - ree - mah)
- Name Meaning: 'Sil'tel' has no translational meaning, 'Ferima' was the given name of the Hyur midwife present at her birth.
Aliases/Nicknames:
- Sil: The only nickname she currently accepts with graciousness. She would not, however, find it suitable or pleasing to be called this by anyone other than someone she has respect or a personal interest in.
- Madam: A cute father/daughter-exclusive nickname used only in the home by her late father.
Appearance
- Height: 5 fulms, 1.4 ilms - Scarcely above average height for a young Seeker of the Sun Miqo'te woman.
- Weight: 99.6 ponz - Light on her feet in comparison to the larger races, but perfectly average for a Miqo'te.
- Body: Being scarcely a half-ilm taller than the average Seeker of the Sun, Sil'tel is still very much the picture of lithe flexibility and agility that stereotypes Miqo'te women. Her neck is slender and can swivel to deliver a look to anyone in the room assuming they're not directly behind her. Her collar and shoulders are close in to her body, giving her the appearance of a slight, feminine frame and comparitively enhancing the size of her breasts, which themselves are only a half-cup bigger than average. She would boast that her upper half hosts her most attractive attributes, but that would insinuate some shortcoming in other areas. Slender arms and delicate hands betray a strong thrust and grip, and only slight callouses on her knuckles dictate any notion of experienced combat. With a waist that is flat and slim to make efficient use of agility and maneuverability, she does not appear muscled, but toned and graceful. Flirtatious hips follow a sleek and beautiful line down her thighs, and an athletic, heart-shaped backside sports a lazy-swaying tail, topping a pair of slim legs that do not show a great deal of muscle tone until adopting a stance for combat. Dainty ankles and small feet complete a body that by all accounts seems more suited to dancing than to making war.
- Complexion: Sil'tel is fairer in colour than most Seekers of the Sun, an oddity compounded by a life spent in the sun-dried greater Thanalan areas. She herself admits she is prone to lightheadedness and sunstroke if overheated, and she has learned expertly how long she can spend in the heat to tan rather than burn. The lightest shade of peach, she has taken great pains to ensure that her skin is spotless, and only the merest scrapes of battle mar her otherwise flawless complexion. The fur of her ears matches her hair colour, and her tail is smoother and flatter than most Seekers of the Sun, having very little sense of fuzziness to it.
- Face: With a fresh, youthful face, Sil'tel is often cited as being younger than she is when taken unawares. Dialogue with her, however, reveals an air of smugness that radiates through her and makes her appear older and more skeptical. She has a small nose, decorated by a single horizontal scar, that sits squarely in the middle of her face above her naturally full, light-rose lips. She has a slight pout, but not so much to be noticeable as a recognizable trait. Two tan-coloured lines strike down to a point from her hairline to just above her eyebrows, and two strikes of the same colour caress both upper cheeks, angling toward her inner eye. On the crest of her cheekbones are two chevrons of white. Her eyes are heterochromic, though not naturally, her right eye being bright and red, almost the same shade as her lips, while her left eye is a much paler shade. Due to fever as a very small girl that affected her optic nerves, the pigments in her iris are mutated, and due to later retinal detachment Sil'tel has no vision in her left eye whatsoever. Regardless of this shortcoming, Sil'tel has otherwise maintained a healthy-looking face, her teeth are white and all accounted for, and her skin is free of any blemishes.
- Hair: A smooth, straight hairstyle that is easy to maintain and still has some charm of femininity. Midnight blue in colour, but with gradient-highlighted crimson at the tips, it a colour combination not seen on more traditional tribal Miqo'te. The simplicity of the cut means very little tangling and requires no great deal of fussing, being able to be brushed simply. It has a refined sheen to it, catching the light except where her two ears angle back from the crown of her head. The style openly displays her ears, making it easy to gauge her emotions based on her ears' positions. The length of her hair is just long enough to tickle her collar bones, and it is fascinated by a snow white headband, which serves little more use than decoration.
- Fashion: A combination of being proud of her looks, and a slight intolerance to heat, the Ul'dahn Sil'tel favours light clothing that is more revealing than reliable. Around Ul'dah and the greater Thanalan areas she's been known to travel in barest attire, almost akin to shortclothes. A wine-red hempen singlet that clings to her bosom and leaves the arms exposed, and a hempen pair of pantalette shorts with lacy detailing in a matching colour provide little in the way of protection, but allow her to keep cool, stylish, and light on her feet in the thick heat of Thanalan and the surrounding areas. A pair of attire-matching leather gloves adorn her hands and wrists. This may be the only practical piece of clothing she takes adventuring, as it softens the punishment her hands recieve while wielding weaponary in the field. Least functional of all are her wine-red heeled sandals. Sil'tel admits that they hinder her stances, but force her to adopt strong posturing in combat. Additionally, she prefers the way her calves look when she wears heels.
History
Childhood:
- Sil'tel was born on satin sheets in her parent's home in Ul'dah. It was a difficult birth, and one that threatened the life of not only the child, but her mother also. A well-trained Hyur midwife acted quickly and knowledgeably to quell disaster, saving both lives and earning the family's sincerest favor. The name Sil'tel was decided for her, truncating the names of her parents, S'ilnehn Kaahi and T'elfoh Tia. Her family name, since her parents were unwed and without tribal boundaries, was given in honor of the woman who saved mother and child, the midwife Ferima. Despite the elaborate entrance into the world, Sil'tel's upbringing was not one of riches, but one of simple treasures and confused morality. Her mother and father were many times at a loss for how to raise a child as a couple, being both raised in the tribal settings of their clan, where there were rules to follow, racial guidelines to be handed down to younger generations, and a wealth of information for how to behave as parents. They tried their best to provide for their little girl, but as much as they could provide love and adoration, the lessons they taught trying to blend their tribal roots in with their desire to be Ul'dah's upper-eschelon were compromised and naive. As it was, Sil'tel would grow to have odd notions of what was acceptable, fair and balanced.
- After the scare of their first child's entrance, T'elfoh decided it would be best not to risk his partner's life with another child. Living in Ul'dah, working desperately to keep fancy things in their house, they couldn't afford to lavish their working wages on another child. Sil'tel was by no means a challenge to raise, but it was seen as unorthodox for S'ilnehn to take up her spear and hunt game for the family while leaving Sil'tel on her own at home. Wanting to put their unhappy tribal backgrounds to rest, they did all they could to adopt an "Ul'dahn" sense of priority in the the middle of the blossoming growth the city was experiencing due to the mineral wealth, but at best all T'elfoh could manage was to keep the family in enough fine linen to keep up appearances. A fever contracted when she was barely a year old left Sil'tel with severely diminished vision in her left eye, and an iris that seemed to fade in colour by the day, though Sil'tel seemed to be in no pain and it did not affect her growth otherwise. As Sil'tel learned to speak, walk, and behave, they encouraged her to speak in the manner of wealthy nobility, while taking little care to correct themselves of their far more rural tongue. Sil'tel mimicked their "at home" accents, but was corrected and reminded to remain dignified and elaborate, hopefully at all times. She grew up with a father who doted on her and told her she was special and priviledged, that everything she had she deserved and then some. Her mother, having hunting skills like all female Seekers, taught her poise and posture, along with many subtle physical regimes that would keep her fit and healthy amidst a city that was quickly adopting a tendency toward complacency and wealth-driven lethargy.
Adolescence:
- With the Garlean Empire maintaining a constant gloom over the thoughts of all Eorzea, T'elfoh enrolled Sil'tel in weapons training, in the hopes that if war broke out on their doorstep she would be able to see herself protected and useful if all else fell before her. The pretty and priviledged Sil'tel was at first sternly against the idea, feeling the act of using weapons was for lowly soldiers and brigands. Her mother, ever the hunter even after so many years, convinced her of the need for a girl of her status to be as notable for her strength as her beauty. Agreeing to at least take sparring lessons in hand-to-hand combat, Sil'tel soon found that combat was exhilerating and rewarding, as were the frequent trips through the rougher areas of Thanalan to find worthy creatures to pit her skills against. While martial arts took firm lead as her means of battle proficiency, she branched some interest into bladed weapons, and even some Conjuring and Thaumaturgy. While sparring with her instructor, her near-blind left eye suffered trauma in the form of a retinal detachment, and while the damage was mended through careful magical procedure, any semblence of vision she had retained in her eye was forever lost. The loss of what little remained of her left-eye sight did not dampen her skills. She learned to use her body as her measuring tools, knowing by familiarity how far her fingers extended in any given thrust, gaining her a better intimate knowledge of her distances without relying on depth-perception.
- Even with a newfound interest in categorizations of Adventuring, Sil'tel was not a happy young woman. She often found it very difficult to make friends with people her own age, particularly other girls, who she saw as competition, albeit far beneath her standing. She had ideas that anyone who approached her did so because they wanted something from her; Her time, her money, her body... And the people who acted or reacted unfavorably to her were unworthy of her time to begin with. With a line of thinking that shot down many potential friendships before they started, Sil'tel grew into a lonely young woman, embittered around the company of others who seemed to steer clear of her or approach her with eyes full of greed. She started to foster contempt for her fellow Ul'dahn residents, and she lacked the experience of youthful passions, garnishing a reputation that made her seem too aloof or untouchable to most of the young males who might usually have taken an interest. Spending more time outside the walls of Ul'dah than inside, she favoured solace amongst the natural environs of Thanalan to time spent with others. While this time spent embracing the great outdoors calmed her mind and gave her a respect for the earth, it did little to ease her difficulty finding people to share her life and the joys therein.
Adulthood:
- Sil'tel was sixteen years old when the Battle of Carteneau began and Dalamud's Descent ravaged the land. Like many of the wealthier and more powerful families in Ul'dah, she and her parents were encouraged to abstain from the warfare. Sil'tel, feeling an affinity with the earth and the natural beauty it provided, mourned for months afterward about the destruction. While she had little adoration for any of the populace in Ul'dah, hearing the tales of countless soldiers giving their lives selflessly for a just cause gave her a deep respect for any soldier who served the states, and intensified a loathing for brigands and thieves who fought against the states for matters of personal greed or vengeance. With the influx of homeless, jobless refugees to the Thanalan area, she witnessed first-hand the degradation and debasement of Eorzea's finest city. As crime rates skyrocketted, the rift between the rich and the refugees expanded. Being rich and an attractive young Miqo'te girl who enjoyed wandering the outsides of the city, Sil'tel herself was the target of many angry, desperate protesters and even more desperate men lusting for a chance to rape and murder their wealthy oppressors. Her martial arts being the only thing that often deterred a horrific loss of her purity to a red-eyed vagrant, she spent more time training than ever before.
- Through the years following, Sil'tel's training, assisted by a healthy love for the exploration of nature, took her to many distant areas of Eorzea. She detested the situation of Ul'dah but found herself inconsequential to any change that was to be found there. As such, she saw many interesting and exciting avenues to explore in the ways of handcraft, and through some simple tutoring in the Limsa Lominsa "Bismark" she gained a fondness for the culinary arts. While she could make do with the produce available in the markets, she found gratification in acquiring the ingredients herself. While she understood her skills with a skillet and knife were scores below the greatest chefs, the simple pleasure of exploring for unusual ingredients, training by defeating any beasts or enemies that would hinder her progress, and enjoying a self-prepared meal as a reward was a life she was quite content to further.
- T'elfoh had, by now, supplanted the family so deep in the high-society community of Ul'dah that wealth and opportunity flowed into the small family's coffers, but he worked so hard to make a life and a name for his daughter and partner that he rarely had time to enjoy any of the benefits himself. He suffered a catastrophic stroke when Sil'tel was nineteen years old, leaving him completely paralyzed on his left side and unable to speak. The Conjurer's Guild in Gridania claimed to be able to heal him, so Sil'tel boarded an airship from Ul'dah with S'ilnehn and her crippled father. The airship had not flown halfway through the Thanalan area before it was gunned down by a force of Garlean soldiers. The airship hurtled to the ground, Sil'tel clinging fearfully to the bedpost of her father inside the cabin. S'ilnehn rushed out the cabin doors as soon as the noise was heard, and when she realised the ship was plummeting to the ground, tried to brace herself to the railing. As the ship connected at high speed with the Sagolii desert sand, she was flung from the deck and into a deep ravine nearby, landing on the rocky bottom and dying immediately. T'elfoh and Sil'tel were thrown around the cabin violently. Sil'tel, able to react and bear the brunt of the crash, survived with only a broken collar and severe bruising, but T'elfoh could do nothing to protect himself as he was whipped around the room. His neck was snapped against a wall and he also died instantly. From the wreckage of the airship, Sil'tel was somehow able to drag his body halfway through the desert, not knowing where she was going, before she collapsed from grief and exhaustion. She and her late father were rescued by the U tribe, where Sil'tel was nursed to health.
- While the death of her parents shook Sil'tel to her core, she did gain some respect for U tribe of the Sagolii Desert. They treated her as a guest, tended to her mourning, and were respectful of her loss. They searched the desert and found the body of her mother, and they hosted a funeral befitting of two well-respected Miqo'te Seekers. With little to return to in Ul'dah, Sil'tel decided to stay in Forgotten Springs and recover from the blow life had dealt her. Over the course of several months, she learned much about the way tribal Seekers lived. She came to understand her parents' plights better, learned of the rituals and heirarchies the tribe followed, and spent much time out hunting with the other females. Being skilled in combat and a picture of beauty, she drew the eyes of a few of the men of the village. Inexperience dealing with romance, and the assertive manner of tribal mating structure scared her, though, and after being encouraged to mate with the Nunh by her spirited girlfriends eager to see her stay with the tribe and raise children, she left the village quietly to avoid facing a situation that frightened her.
- Returning to Ul'dah to make claim to her parents' house and wealth, Sil'tel made quick work of picking up where her father left off. While she did not work for coin, the connections already established with her family saw her earn enough through trade and investments that she could avoid manual labour altogether. She asserted to all that her house was no less honorable or powerful without T'elfoh at the head. She has remained in Ul'dah since, making light excursions around Eorzea when the feel for training and exploration come upon her.
Behavior
- Voice: Sil'tel's tone is a light, playful alto that has the unmistakable forthright nature of a young woman. Her voice carries on the air like a chime, not loudly, but she does not have to raise her voice to be heard across a table at a busy table in an inn. She has two distinct mannerisms to her accent. Her usual accent is an upmarket, proper tone that belies a woman of high station and education. Her diction is clear and she enunciates words fluidly if not precisely. When startled, angered, or otherwise rendered senseless her voice loses all veil of high society and she will drop the emphasis on her harder consonants, like "Coming" reducing to "Comin'". This demonstrates that as much as she holds an air of superiority, that may not be her origins.

- ● Konner Kinkaid - A cryptically-speaking warrior of some renown. He has several times contacted Sil'tel with the intention of meeting to discuss matters pertaining to her interests. Regretfully, he has yet to win her respect, and continually downgrades his credibility by not treating her with the forthrightness and honour she feels she deserves from him. Currently, while she does not recall his name for lack of interest, she has taken to calling him "Red", on account of his seeming fixation with the colour. Recently she has approached him with tasks to be done that she hasn't the care to undertake herself. While he gets the job done, she thinks his methods brutish and inelegant. Sadly, any further communication has been hampered by Sil'tel's insistence that he is at the heel of his overbearing wife. Consequently she has no desire to see him.
- ● Seth Honeybrew - Having only just encountered Seth and some of the people he is surrounded by, there's little to go by. Sil'tel seems to have business with (or against) them, but this does not appear to register any particular emotional sway.
- ♥ M'raj Mercenary - A blue-haired Seeker Sil'tel had conversations with in the Quicksand in Ul'dah. A naturally easy-going attitude, along with his talent for cooking and hand-to-hand combat initially caught her interest, and his frequent visitations and invitations have resulted in her being relatively comfortable in his presence. While ultimately on her list of people to actively avoid in public due to her friendly harassment and the shackling of an embarassing nickname for her, Xenedra made her feel genuinely accepted without Sil's suspicion regarding dealings with other girls near her age.
