His dark hair is always an accurate representation of a mess, regardless of his desperate attempts to sort that out. His green eyes are constantly looking around, almost never ceasing to move, as he carefully watches his surroundings. Scars & Markings: A number of small gashes 'decorate' his chest, back and right arm. It would appear that scars had various origins, claws, blades, fangs and even magic. Voice: Soft and warm, usually very calm. He rarely raises his voice. Clothing: Soran usually wears light, comfortable clothes which don't hinder his movement, however he tends to adapt to his environment. He's a pragmatic person and thus his clothes are usually meant to be practical as well, not too warm, not too cold and definitely not too heavy. Soran is an energetic, often way too serious, kind, open-minded and hard-working youth. He's always dedicated to whatever he's busy with, striving to do his best everytime, which most of the times is made harder by his tendency to put himself into every potential trouble he happens to be around. Soran is very loyal to his friends, putting them and their needs above himself. He tends to analyze available options and potential outcomes before taking action, caution is something he relies on as his first line of defense. Despite being very careful and rather smart, he naively believes that almost everyone has some good inside and that it's worth giving a second chance along with a helpful hand. He also has a nasty habit of making smartass comments. Soran continues to improve his abilities, on his own, training with his friends and by constantly pushing himself against his limits. Over time he ran into a lot of troubles involving number of mages which made him focus on honing his abilities to better counter their style of combat. He's a determined and a stubborn warrior, often not knowing when to stop. NPC Alia Naere ( ♥ ✖ ) (Mother) Soran's mother, she was a very supportive and caring woman, an old, silver locket, which appears to be broken, is his only memento of her. Hanin Naere ( ♥ ✖ ) (Father) Soran's father, Hanin was a strict, but kind-hearted man. He taught Soran a lot about respecting one another and music. Ethien Naere ( ♥ ✖ ) (Younger Brother) One of Soran's younger siblings, twin brother of Elise. Being 6 years younger than Soran, he fell 'victim' to a severe case of an overprotective older brother. Ethien was a slightly timid child, but it faded away when he was listening to music. Elise Naere ( ♥ ✖ ) (Younger Sister) Ethien's twin sister, this energetic girl cherished pretty much anything she glanced at. She was really attached to her older brother, who gladly played the role of a shield whenever she run into trouble with parents. Tohan Alaris ( ♦ ? ) (Savior) A very old, especially by Eorzean standards, paladin who helped Soran out when he was at the bottom, turning him away from the path of a bandit, helping him see that there is much more to gain from helping others than exploiting their weaknesses. The man taught Soran how to fight as he knew Soran had a soulstone hidden in his mother's locket, he never told him that though, knowing thaat the boy was unaware of that fact. After a couple of months he disappeared and Soran never heard of him again. PC V'anilla Sora ( ♥ ) (Other half) Vani is a very strange person, Soran with pleasure watched how she grows with each passing day. As she developed strong feelings towards him, he realised he felt similiar about her and a bond between them was created. He trusts her with anything and there is not a thing he's not ready to do to protect her. As she keeps experiencing the world and learning more and more about it, Soran is rediscovering it as well, her fresh eyes allow him to glance at things from a completely new perspective. S'raku Tia ( ♥ ) (Brother and Rival) Raku plays a very special role in Soran's life, even if he isn't admitting that loudly. Soran believes that the two of them are very similiar, but Raku is far more carefree, while Soran thinks more about what he does. This hunter is one of the few people Soran trusts without question and looks up to, as he has many virtues Soran holds dear. Since the two are in a somewhat similiar position in their 'family', Soran sees a rival, training partner and a reliable companion in S'raku. Lucius Ignatius ( ♥ ) (Younger Brother) Having lost both of his younger siblings in the past, Soran filled the gap in his heart after Ethien's death with Luke. He feels responsible for this man, who's not much younger than him. Soran respects his resolve, even if they often disagree and is greatly impressed by his technical genius. Seeing as Luke has taken somewhat the role of the 'head of the family', Soran supports him and follows his decisions, although he never hesitates to challenge them if he believes that it may not be the best course of action. Despite who Luke really is, he'd rather fight entire Eorzea than let him go. Elinne Cinfeld ( ♥ ) (Younger Sister) Soran met Elinne in the same way he usually meets people, by packing himself into trouble. The kind, cheerful girl quickly charmed him, but not in a romantic way. Since she has a tendency to fall into trouble and she's absolutely carefree, Soran can't help but feel responsible for her. Over time, this feeling of responsibility and their friendship have grown stronger and Elinne has filled the gap in his heart, created when his Elise died. She reminds him a lot of the little girl he used to know and their names are very similiar, which is why he quickly started calling her Eli, partially because it's an affectionate way to shorten her name, but mostly because that's how he used to call his sister by blood. Soran has a great deal of respect for her knowledge, as he's aware that there is more than meets the eye. Arylisse Dayhelm ( ♥ ) (Older Sister and Mentor) Ary is a difficult person to figure out. Knowing her story, Soran is aware of the fact that she suffered way more than he did and she's someone who can understand him well. Whenever he's in doubt, he's reaching out to her, relying on her experience and knowledge. He looks up to her and is gladly learning from her past mistakes, but she's far more than just a teacher. Soran greatly appreciates her company and imagines her to be his older sister, as he never had one. Despite her continous attempts of convincing him how much of a bad person is she, Soran stubbornly fights her argument, proving that she's a caring and kind person, if someone is only willing to get to know her, rather than use her. An enemy of her is an enemy of his as well. Leigh Tamtsel ( ♦ ) (Friend) Leigh was one of the first people he got along with well after the Calamity and the first Xaela he ever talked to. Although they don't see each other too often, Soran greatly appreciates his company and is always willing to listen what the 'old guy' has to say. Kataani Hawkeye ( ? ) (Difficult Acquaintance) A Seeker of the Sun woman with a very difficult past and equally bothersome affliction. Although she caused his family a lot of trouble, Soran knowing her behaviour as well as Ary's past, he tries his best to help the woman stay on the right path. Regardless of that, he won't hesitate to pull his blade against her once more, should she treaten his siblings again. Kaius Temtsel ( ♦ ) (Acquaintance) Soran doesn't really know much about Kaius, except for him being somewhat close to Leigh, or so he believes. Nevertheless, the amount of effort this man puts into trying to protect Elinne from potential threats is enough for Soran to respect him and consider an ally. Kay'tethanir Dotharl ( ♦ ) (Acquaintance) Mysterious Xaela, Soran can't help but wonder how Elinne befriended this mountain of brute force. Although they 'worked' together briefly, Soran likes the way Kay'te seems to think and that he's not as reckless as most adventurers and mercenaries he ran into. Without knowing much aside from that and rumours of Dotharls usual attitude, Soran's rather careful around the man, despite him helping him a bit in the past. Hawu Jinjahl ( ♠ ) (Ghost-like Witch) A witch, looking more like a ghost than anything else, this powerful woman gave advice on magical matters (and not only) more than once, but Soran usually looks in different sources at first, as there is something about her that makes him genuinely afraid of her. She's definitely not someone he'd bother recklessly and tries to be very careful around her. Verkai Ugund ( ♠ ♠ ) (Enemy) A being of pure Void, something more than a mere Voidsent. Normally, Soran would stay away from this creature, but Veri seems to have set his eyes on Elinne, thus Soran spends a lot of time developing methods to get rid of this being once and for all, hoping he can protect his family from this threat. Despite being quite well prepared to fight him, should they run into each other, Soran can't help but fear that powerful man.
