Despite being well advanced in age, her body and visage bear little indication of the fact, perhaps due to her Elezen Heritage. She displays an almost encyclopedic knowledge on liquor and related subjects, while remaining quite formidably aware of all other topics, perhaps a nod to her proclaimed Sharlayan ancestry. The only other remarkable thing about this Elezen is that she can be occasionally, although more oft than not, seen with a massive mechanical construct resembling herself in public that she can summon and desummon at the snap of her fingers. When prodded, she casually introduces it as her 'puppet,' Inori, and simply states that it's a very dear possession of hers. APPEARANCE Aimee is quite tall even for an Elezen; standing at a respectable 6'6”. This puts her well above average for her peers, as well as the general demographic of her current residence of Shirogane. While her face is often partially hidden due an ever present halfmask, it still manages to radiate an aura of kindness and warmth due to the equally present smile on her face. On the rare moments where she would remove her mask, one would see that the obscured portion of her face is unblemished, aside from an eyepatch over her left eye, leaving her with a singular, deep red eye. Framing the mask is Aimee's waist length white hair, which is held in place by a hairband and is always kept clean and groomed. Her ears are oddly diminutive for an Elezen however, which would suggest possibly mixed hyuran ancestry to which she vehemently denies. Moving downwards, her body is of typical Elezen build with tanned, dark skin standing in contrast to her pure white hair. Nimble, willowy limbs complement her slender frame. Despite that, she sports a respectable bust, giving her profile a subtle feminine edge which she further emphasizes with her choice of attire. While her hands seem normal at first glance, closer inspection shows that her palms belong to a woman that has seen much toil and strife in her many years. Upon further inspection, a keen observer would be able to note her right hand is slightly deformed, with crooked bones and a hardened callus on her middle finger. All in all, her true age is not readily apparent in her general appearance, but that can easily be attributed to the lengthened lifespan that Elezen tend to enjoy. Aimee's wardrobe can be described as impeccable. As per her job demands, she can be commonly found wearing a dressy, form fitting white shirt along with black pants with a few too many belt buckles. For her public attire during off time, she simply dons a long white coat over her shirt, somehow appearing no less formal than behind the counter. This would be her default outfit for the most part, including combat situations, as she relies on her spells and her marionettes for protection instead of armor. PERSONALITY Having settled into a life of retirement from her mercenary career, Aimee presents herself with a gentle, peaceful demeanor that is antithetical to her former lifestyle. Upon speaking to her at length, one would realize that Aimee was an extremely sharp-witted woman, a trait only bolstered by the myriad experiences of her florid past. She uses this, combined with a keen sense of perception, to fully realize her newfound purpose in retirement and life; to give guidance to the lost, succor to the fatigued, comfort to the lonely, and hope to the broken, all as the proprietress of her own traditional bar. LIKES ALCOHOL Whether it's the creation, discussion, or consumption of it, it's obvious that Aimee is very passionate about her drink, as befitting of a bartender. BOOKS When one's current job is far less lucrative than their previous one, they've no choice but to engage in less financially intensive past times. Aimee is no exception to this rule, commonly being seen with a borrowed book in public. In her spare time, she acts as the librarian and curator of the archives of her wife's free company. THEATRE An exercise in the study of the spoken spirit, according to Aimee. Rumours are she occasionally entertains the children at the orphanage with puppet shows. MUSIC For the sake of representing the unspoken, Aimee believes that music is yet another avenue for expressing those moments too difficult to describe. DISLIKES COMBAT As she very much enjoys her retirement from her former lifestyle, Aimee would very much rather not have to be personally involved in any sort of combat situation. HAUGHTINESS The cursory dismissal of others is as potent as a sharp dagger, at least from her point of view. While she does not forcibly apply her own standards to others, she still feels distaste for those unwilling to set aside their arrogance for the sake of clarity. IRRESPONSIBILITY Aimee strongly believes in holding one accountable for their own actions. According to her, she believes wholeheartedly that we are our own architects of ruin or glory. QUIRKS CONSTANTLY MASKED It's not due to social anxiety, gruesome disfigurement, or a criminal background, but her mask remains a constant presence on her face for whatever reason she refuses to reveal. VENTRILOQUIST A pasttime she picked up over the years, the fact that she's also remarkably skilled at mimicking others' voices and accents allow her to be quite the trickster if she so wishes. HOROLOGIST Displays an unusual interest in clocks and various other timekeeping apparatus, to the point being able to stare at the arms of a clock tick away for hours upon end. POLYGLOT As she tries to keep her establishment welcome to as many as possible, she is fluent enough in multiple languages, including old Ishgardian, Doman, and Common Eorzean. COMBAT Although now pacifistic in nature, the few that do manage bring her to the brink (usually by the way of threatening herself or her friends/customers) would find themselves at the receiving end of some of the most potent and well kept Sharlayan magecraft, namely the arts of puppetmancy and chronomancy. According to herself she was quite skilled with various other weapons in her heyday, but quickly states that those days are long past. TOITSU NO INORI A humanoid-shaped, metallic, visored mannequin resembling herself in appearance, her puppet, which she refers to as Inori, is an integral part of her combat style. It stands slightly taller than herself, at a height of about seven fulms. While seemingly acting on its own in combat, it is entirely controlled by Aimee via her thoughts, functioning as an extension of her very own being. Constructed from a hybrid of Allagan, Alexandrian, and various other metals and components, it is unparalleled in durability and nigh indestructible. Raw physical capabilities aside, it is also able to summon (usually) oversized weapons at will to further enhance its strikes, as well as transform various parts of itself into other weapons. The entire construct is driven by a powerful aethercore fashioned by, in her own words, the 'prayers and will of many like myself.' The obscenely large amounts of aether generated by the doll also serves as a catalyst for Aimee's own magic, which normally requires dangerous amounts of aether either from herself, or her immediate vicinity. PUPPETMANCY MARIONETTES Various unnamed mannequins that usually take on a kamikaze role or overwhelm in numbers, these hastily cobbled together apparatus aren't particularly strong alone but can catch the occasionally unaware off guard. The fact that their appearances are purposely made to intimidate lend an aspect of psychological intimidation to her combat style as well. PUPPETEER'S THREADS Manipulating the aether drawn from her doll into fine, highly tensile threads, these threads can be utilized for a variety of defensive or offensive purposes. Aside from attempting to restrain and hamper her enemies, these threads are also capable of lifting various objects in her vicinity and hurling them for makeshift projectiles. She is also capable of combining larger quantities of threads together to improve their strength and form temporary constructs; she generally finds it most efficient to combine them into either marionette appendages or bladed cogs for maximum effect. CHRONOMANCY ALTER GRAVITY The least taxing of her time based spells, this spell alters the way gravity affects a certain object around her general vicinity. She can either use this offensively or supportively, weighing down an enemy to the point where the simplest of motions would take tremendous effort, or to improve the mobility of her allies instead by lowering their own gravity instead. WARP Shifting the sands of time on an object, this spell's aether consumption grows exponentially depending on its target, with her being able to only briefly affect a human-sized target for no more than a minute, but usually this is enough to give her a considerable edge in combat as well. Due to the extreme amount of concentration needed to cast the spell, her own mobility becomes quite limited during its entire duration. STASIS Her trump card used only in the most dire of circumstances. Drawing a massive amount of aether, from both Inori's and her own reserves, she is able to halt time in a limited area, allowing her to deal a decisive blow or to beat a hasty retreat. Doing this essentially renders her defenseless for a short while after the flow of time is restored, relying on either having won the battle or allies guarding her as she recovers from the spell. An extremely talented magus in her own right, she chooses to spend more time delving into more focused research of her arts as opposed to ensuring that the arts of her family would not be lost. This may have affected Aimee's upbringing, with unorthodox bedtime stories of intricate details of various magical arts. While Aimee has more or less lost contact with her parents, she still holds them both in high regard. Aureliaux Defoy, father. (♥ 🔒 ✔ ) Strict Taskmaster: "Perfection is sought, not obtained." The head of the Defoy family, which is well known for their skill in both alchemy, astrology, and puppetmancy. He held Aimee up to his exacting standards, which she easily met and surpassed, to his great pleasure. She doesn't speak of him or her family much, but seems to be on good enough terms with him despite the lack of contact between the two. Ayane Mayuzuma, Spouse. ( ♥ ♥ ✔ 🔒 ) My Beloved: ”Anything for you, darling.” The relationship between her former first (and only pupil) has flowered over the many moons they spent together, from pupil to trusted comrade, then to lover and confidante, and finally faithful spouse. Despite their difference in age, the two share an inseparable bond, and Aimee will offer support in whatever endeavors her spouse and her company (which they started together) pursue. It is for this reason she also spends her free time being the lorekeeper of the company, managing the archives as well as acting as a garrison for the company headquarters. When prodded, she'll say that she'd be willing to claw her way out the seventh hell itself, through the constraints of time and space, just to be with her wife, although one get's the feeling that she certainly isn't exaggerating. Over time, Fu became a very close friend to Aimee, and she offered her a position at her bar, seeing the latent talent she harbored, able to offer service to customers in ways that she herself couldn't. Aimee seems to have no problem deciphering Fu's sometimes excessively odd and/or sesquipedalian lexicon, and appreciates the fresh new perspective that she offers to her world. Dorothea Enheduanna, ( ✔ 🔒 ) Wandering Mage Having formerly served as a hired hand on one of Dorothea's many magical escapades to stop her nemesis, she holds immense respect for both the magical aptitude and temperament of this miqo'te. After her nemesis was finally sealed away, the two remain fast friends, each readily offering their assistance to each other should trouble arise. Ryuka Yumitori, ( ✔ 🔒 ) Swordscale: "..." Aimee knows her primarily as Fu's 'sword sister,' as well as from their days as co-workers for a shared client, Nira Rabntah. Aimee respects her martial abilities and her straightforward and laconic speech patterns. Terpsichora Ostornwyn, ( ✔ 🔒 ) Exemplary Barfly: "It's a wonderful hat, isn't it?" The epitome of a drinking buddy, in Aimee's opinion. The banter between these two range from philosophical to completely inane, along with the two showering complements and niceties on each other to the point where it could make bystanders reel and puke.
