Body: Malik has a well toned athletic body that is often considered more muscular than a typical miqo'te.

Clothing: Malik wears primarily cloth and leather gear that is crafted by either himself or those he personally knows, but it is not uncommon to see him in actual light armor either.
Marks: Numerous tattoos and/or tribal markings. On his face, he has dual black stripes across both of cheeks, and these stripes are also visible on his obliques as well. A black tattoo stretches across his eyes, symbolic of the element of wind. A leaf tattoo rests on his upper back, symbolic of the element of earth. His right shoulderblade has a knotted circle with a lightning bolt through it, symbolic of both his membership in the Stormguard as well as the elements of ice and lightning. His left upper outer thigh has a tattoo that is meant to represent the element of fire. A final tattoo is wrapped around his right ankle, representing the element of water.

Details

Nature Magic: Malik has a very high affinity to draw on magic based from nature. He is highly adaptable to all of the elements. Due to his lack of reading/studying, much of his magic lacks some refinement and can come across as sloppy (but still effective usually).

Blue Magic: His affinity and love for animals makes use of blue magic Malik's most natural talent. His use of it tends to be more animalistic and savage in comparison to others who may wield it though.

Swordplay: Out of all weapons available, swordplay (primarily single-handed blades) remains Malik's strongest physical skill. He has promise in hand to hand combat, but doesn't train enough in it to truly refine it.

Malik was raised in an orphanage in Gridania, with zero knowledge of his birth family. He was found abandoned in the forest by a passing adventurer as a baby, wrapped in a blanket with nothing but a locket with the word "Ishvari" etched into it. As he grew up, he became increasingly bitter toward his abandonment and even sabotaged more than one adoption attempt for himself so that he could remain alone. With no family and finding it challenging to make friends, Malik spent enormous amounts of time with the local fauna. He would observe, befriend, feed, and even conduct some minor medical aid on various animals over the years. At the age of thirteen, he ran away from the orphanage and had a near death experience where he swears to have been saved by Nophica herself.

After being saved from near certain death, Malik would become a young member of EDEN (Eco Defenders and Enthusiasts of Nature). This small but radical group gives its allegiance wholly and solely to Hydaelyn and its health, recognizing Nophica as the Mother Creator. They go to great lengths to sabotage those who would harm nature in any form. Among these enemies predominately include the Garleans, but also extends to many ordinary Eorzeans who engage in any kind of poaching activities, pollution activities, real estate development in natural habitats, and so on. EDEN is recognized by both Ul'dah and Gridania as a terrorist organization, though its members maintain their secrecy by using masks during their missions. Gridania, much to Ul'dah's annoyance, spends little time or resources attempting to bring EDEN to justice.

His skills include, most notably, the ability to tame and commune with beasts, along with the ability to mimick some of their beastly attacks for his own style. He's also skilled with single-handed blades and botany. He has a natural ability with some nature magic, and views non-nature derived magic as dangerous to the planet's well being. Malik currently resides in the EDEN headquarters within the Lavender Beds, usually alone.

Malik was recently approached by the mysterious Order of the Stormguard to help them rebuild. While unsure why he was selected, he ultimately decided to lend his sword to them after seeing what they had to show him and serves as one of its new Highguards.

EDEN

Razaya Raza, Fashion Diva. ♥

Age : 25 - A fairly girly lalafell who is often obsessed with beauty and all things 'cute.' She is the most wealthy of EDEN, given her employment as fashion advisor for famous Eorzean bards. While she owns the EDEN headquarters, she is seldom there and has largely left Malik to live there as he sees fit. She covertly supplies the group with nearly a third of its financial backing. Her role in EDEN is strictly support, and she never assists in actual missions directly.

Echo Zurova, Lady of Vines ♥
Age : 26 - A beautiful woman with shaman-like abilities. Echo claims to hear the elementals, and is capable of powerful magic that she channels from nature itself. Despite the similarities to conjury, she denies being a conjurer herself and prefers the term 'druid.' Her love and knowledge of plants is second to none in the group.

Melvina Nolan, Scientist ♥

Age : 22 - An intelligent young woman who, while growing up, was seen as the 'nerd' of her classmates. Her intelligence is top of the line in science, mechanics, and alchemy. It's no wonder she ended up becoming the greatest mind of EDEN. Her social skills, however, tend to be quite erratic and her clumsiness has become practically a trademark for her. Her role in EDEN is primarily a support one on the back lines, though she has at rare times joined the front lines.

Striking Coeurl, Smithy ♥
Age : 32 - An intimidating presence, this roegadyn is easily the strongest of the group. His skill in two-handed weapons is top notch and he has a menacing stare that can frighten even the toughest pirates. He serves as EDEN's expert in armoury and weaponsmithing, though his passion is also in the culinary arts. He is typically called simply 'Striker' by his comrades.

Lloyd Chassebel, Informant ♥
Age : 27 - Duskwight and wood wailer, Lloyd is the primary informant for EDEN. He's also the voice of reason more often than not, remaining calm and collective in just about any crisis. His hobby is fishing. He covertly uses his position in Gridania to keep EDEN off of the city-state's radar.

Aydin Sylvora, Hero ♥
De facto leader of EDEN, and an heir to House Sylvora. Aydin embodies most of the traits that Malik strives to copy. He takes this to even the physical level by copying Aydin's hairstyle and the numerous elemental based tattos on his body. Aydin is a hero to Malik, and he'd lay his life down for him if needed.

Common Plot Hooks

■ EDEN: Malik and his (NPC) friends are part of an eco-terrorist group known as EDEN. They dress in disguises in order to take vigilante styled justice to anyone who does nature wrong. This could include even you! Reach out if interested in being involved somehow in this.

■ Nature: Any kind of activity involving local fauna/flora would be an easy grab for Malik. He is extremely interested in protecting and preserving nature.

Uncommon Plot Hooks

■ Stormguard: Malik is now heavily involved in the Order of the Stormguard. Anything pertaining to it, whether relics or other members, would be of interest to him.

IMPORTANT NOTES FOR PROSPECTIVE RP PARTNERS

I have been RPing in XIV since 1.0, and even helped build this very website and its community. As such, my style has had a very long time to develop. I can be strict on some lore related topics, and loose on the more grey areas. Despite my vast experience and involvement in building the community from the ground up, I'm actually quite reserved at first. You will have significantly more success RPing with me if you come to me first, rather than waiting on me. And even then, I may come across as difficult to approach. I apologize for this, and promise I won't bite. If there's an actual barrier to my RPing with your character, I'll be 100% honest at all times. And I will always be professional and polite about it as well. When not RPing, I LOVE talking about RP. Bouncing ideas, talking about character factoids that may never see the day of light in game for whatever reason, etc.

Lore Adherence

I can be fairly strict on established lore, but will evaluate my position if there are grey areas or believable scenarios. I believe the setting/established lore is important to adhere to, else RP would be pointless in game. I also believe in balancing that belief with the stance that RPers need room to let creativity flow. It's all about maintaining a plausible balance.

Combat

I am not opposed to RP combat, but prefer to know the individuals on the other end to some extent first. I'm more of a freestyle in my combat stance in that I'm not a huge fan of dice systems designed on pure luck. My character has specific skill sets, yours has specific skill sets. We each know our characters well enough to know how a specific situation would play out for them. Trust is important in this category, as is ensuring god moding is kept at bay.

Romance

I am 100% in favor of RPing romantic relationships, within reason. It needs to be organic, not forced. In terms of how far I'd go, it really depends on my OOC comfort level with the individual. This can differ from person to person, so please don't take anything personal if I'm not comfortable going too far. While I am not opposed to sexual based RP, it's not something that would come easy with me. My comfort level may cause me to desire a fade to black scenario at a certain point. Please respect this. It's also very important to maintain the line between IC and OOC at all times if there's a romantic relationship.

Creative Standards

■ I believe in realistic high fantasy. Magic is a natural part of this world, and thus should be used creativily within the established lore. Made up magic spells are perfectly ok with me, so long as they don't overdo it (nuclear spells that could level a city, for instance, are too much unless RPed in a very controlled storyline--no singular character should be able to do this on a whim though).

■ I enjoy reading other character profiles or background stories, and prefer to roleplay with those that have them printed somewhere (though it is obviously not a prerequisite). Experience has taught me that creating bonds with RPers comes easier this way, as it's easier to find and OOCly work out hooks for characters.

■ I will not roleplay with inplausible characters. Inplausible refers to characters that have zero lore support behind them (half/full voidsent, immortal characters, overly high ranking characters such as royalty, aliens/cyborgs, etc.)

■ I am not a para RPer, though I have nothing against those who are. I believe in game RP should flow quickly and organicly. I believe that long expositions belong in story posts, not in game. My responses will thus frequently be quick and concise. I would appreciate the same courtesy in return, as time is valuable for all of us.

■ Name Origins: Malik is a commonly used name in a variety of different genres and settings. It roughly translates to "king" in arabic. Ishvari is a Hindu concept that roughly encompasses the "divine." Ishvari is the feminine divine, whereas Ishvara is the masculine. The feminine was used in this case due to Keepers being a matriarchal society.
