Ferathir "Dawnbreaker" Lauhafiere (Commonly known as Ferathir, Ferathir Dawnbreaker or Dawnbreaker) appears to be a Mid-lander Hyur whom was born in Ishgard. Much remains unknown about his life, possibly due to the fact that he seldom speaks of it. Seeking wealth, fame, power and just a different life all-together, Ferathir left his homeland to pursue becoming a Gladiator in the pits of Ul'dah. However, before arriving to the city, he had a sudden change of heart as he continued to hear about the amazing tales many travelers had about adventurers. Driven by a new cause and goal, Ferathir aimed to become a member of the Adventurer's guild instead of fighting in the pits. But he would not forsake the idea of being a Gladiator, as he already specialized in using a sword and shield as weapons of choice. He would often train with the gladiators of Ul'dah to further his skill. Eventually, upon reaching enough notoriety in the city, he was given the opportunity to become a free Paladin. The power to protect those he cared for and the childhood dream of becoming a knight now close to becoming fulfilled, he gladly accepted. It was not long before he was adorned with the armor of the sultansworn, but with the freedom of an adventurer.

Ferathir “Dawnbreaker” Lauhafiere (Commonly known as Ferathir, Ferathir Dawnbreaker or Dawnbreaker) appears to be a Midlander Hyur native to Ishgard. Much remains unknown about his past life, possibly due to the fact he seldom speaks of it. He pursued his dreams and became an adventurer and also founded a brother/sisterhood revolving around “the Oath.” He coined the term “The Oathsworn Vigil” to address his fellow Oathsworn as a single entity. The Oath, however, was dissolved after Minako Obinata was taken by the Garleans in a scouting mission. He later reformed the Oathsworn Vigil as a small military unit to counter the Garlean threat in his own way. As the Eorzean Alliance prepares to make advances against the Empire, Ferathir scours the lands for recruits that will serve the cause while hoping to once again find his love Minako Obinata.

Ferathir is a rather colorful and diverse character. When he began his journey from Ishgard to Ul'dah, many remember him as the mistrusting noble-turned-adventurer that generally took up jobs alone and kept to himself. However, through many fateful encounters with many different individuals, Ferathir's demeanor has changed drastically and is now far more trusting and social than he was in the past. Nevertheless, Ferathir has core values and beliefs that sometimes conflict with this. And his love for his fellow Oathsworn siblings can leave him blind to reason when they are endangered. Ferathir generally keeps a cool and composed demeanor about him at all times, sometimes making him seem apathetic. However, this is far from the reality, as Ferathir is generally very much involved and concerned with anyone's plight and needs if they are indeed true. Woe to whoever tests his patience or dares to cross him and his Oathsworn, however, for mercy will be nowhere in sight.

Ferathir has suffered through a lot of significant events which finally began to take their toll on his mental-state. After his near-death experience and kidnapping of his beloved Minako at the hands of the Garleans, Ferathir finally snapped and succumbed to grief. He abolished the Oath he treasured dearly out of spite of his Oathsworn being constantly absent in their Vigil and reformed it into a military-type unit of sorts with the purpose of combating the Garlean Empire (and hopefully rescuing Minako.) The madness that gripped Ferathir’s soul abated, but what was left behind was a husk of his former self; a once noble and kind man, now a brooding and hate-driven individual with an appetite for revenge.

Ferathir is larger and taller than the average midlander, perhaps due to being fathered by a Wildwood Elezen. However, he appears to bear mostly the Hyurian traits from his mother. His body is covered in well-toned, healthy muscles. There are no scars of any sort or blemishes anywhere across his body, which in this day and age is incredibly rare. He has a very soft face with sometimes intense eyebrows. His head is adorned by two jade-green eyes which compliment his unkept golden blonde hair rather well. Ferathir's complexion is light, despite the fact that he spends a lot of his time adventuring and roaming the land. This may be due to the fact that his body, including his face, is usually covered from head to toe in plated armor.

Taller than the average Hyur (likely due to his Elezen heritage), Ferathir stands at 5 fulms, 10 ilms. However, the Hyurian traits from his mother appear to be the most dominant in him. His body is covered in well-toned and healthy muscles. There is a massive scar on his abdomen from a battle against a gun-blade wielding Garlean general which nearly claimed his life. His once golden-blonde hair has been tainted and mutated into a pitch-black shade, likely due to aether corruption. His eyes remain the same jade-green they have always been, though they appear to have lost their luster…

N P C Expand Leaussoix Lauhafiere ( ♥ ♠ ? ) ( NPC ) - The Father Leaussoix was, in Ferathir's eyes, the neglectful father who favored his siblings above him. This, however, was never true. Leaussoix always loved all of his children. However, due to his strict upbringing, he never attained the necessary skills to communicate properly or convey positive feelings. Ferathir spent a great deal of his time carrying a great deal of disdain towards his father, but that has recently changed when the two managed to come to a manner of understanding. Since then, the two developed a bond and as such, Ferathir has let go of his animosity toward him. Expand Isabelle Turner-Lauhafiere ( ♥ ) ( NPC ) - The Loving Mother Isabelle was always the loving, caring mother that you read about in stories. She nurtured and cared for all of her children equally, but more so Ferathir because of how overly attached he was to his mother as a child. She knew how Ferathir felt about his father and always spoke to Leaussoix about possible changing his approach with his son. He never did, of course. Ferathir never understood why his mother loved his father the way that she did, but he honestly didn't have much room to worry about the details because he had everything he desired thanks to her. Like the rest of his family, Ferathir does not speak about her, but he loves her and misses her dearly. Expand Sindariel Lauhafiere ( ♥ ) ( NPC ) - The Spunky Sister ((Pending.)) Expand Leonardo Lauhafiere ( ♥ ) ( NPC ) - Heir to House Lauhafiere ((Pending.)) Expand Alathariel ( ♥ ♥ ✖ ) ( NPC ) - The Tragic Love Alathariel came into play when she stumbled across Ferathir in the Adventurer's guild when he was picking up another leve. She thought he was handsome and cool-looking, so decided to tag along, much to Ferathir's dismay. She was incredibly lively and cheerful and it was because of this that she eventually won Ferathir over, both as a friend and love interest. They continued to work together, completing many leves and having a wonderful time. Unfortunately, after being paired up with two other adventurers by the guild to explore a dungeon, Alathariel met her demise. The two other adventurers triggered a trap, isolating Alathariel from the rest of the group. The two responsible ran away, forsaking the two to tragic outcomes; Alathariel to die and Ferathir to watch hopelessly as he saw his first true love be ripped apart by fiends. It was because of this event that Ferathir became so distrusting of others. Especially other adventurers. Expand Janus van Zandt ( ● ♠ ) ( NPC ) - The Garlean Legatus ((Pending.))

P C Expand Minako Obinata ( ∞ Φ ) - The Beautiful Child Minako is an Au Ra from Doma that was displaced by the war that took place in the region against the Garlean Empire. She eventually found her way to Eorzea, where she came to meet Ferathir. The two met by coincidence at the Bonfire in Thanalan. This was when Ferathir considered extending the Oath to something beyond just him and V’ieh. The two of them had bonded quite well in the months that came to pass and eventually developed feelings for one another. Mina is known to be quite clumsy and oftentimes inept in a lot of the things and traditions that take place in Eorzea, but Ferathir loves her nevertheless. The two were to be bonded by the Ceremony of Eternal Bonding but that was abruptly put to a halt when the two were ambushed by Garlean forces near Baelsar’s Wall. Ferathir was left mortally wounded, but was rescued by Thata’wo. Minako, however, was taken hostage by the Garleans. Upon learning the truth after his recovery, Ferathir vowed that he would search the ends of Hydaelyn for his love and eliminate any Garlean that dared to stand in his way. Expand V'ieh Vhessi ( Φ ♥ ) - The First Oathsister Ferathir met V'ieh during his mindless exodus across the Sagolii Desert after losing his first love, Alathariel. He found her, beaten, battered and on the brink of death. It was the memory of his childhood friend Mikomi Megami and the voice of his now deceased lover, Alathariel, that prompted him to pick up the battered Miqo'te and nurse her back to health. Eventually he learned that the attack she survived was issued by her village's Nuhn, after she bruised his ego in some manner or form. He taught her self defense and shared moments that eventually led to the formation of the First Oath, subsequently creating the Oathsworn Vigil. The two have had their share of history, both good and bad. Despite their differences, however, Ferathir loves this Miqo'te fiercely and is very protective of her. Because of their bond, Ferathir has a rather unique talent at decyphering what goes on in V'ieh's head, very much to her dismay. V’ieh has been significantly absent in Ferathir’s life and subsequently from her Vigil. This has, in turn, affected the Hyur in many different ways. Her absence (along with others who swore) is part of the reason he ultimately decided to absolve every one of their Oath and ultimately ending the Vigil. Expand Thata'wo Kaatapoh ( ♥ ) - The Stray Cat Thata’wo is the first individual outside of the Oath that Ferathir ever came to fully trust. Despite all of his quirks and difficult ways of being, Thata’wo remained loyally alongside the Oathsworn through some of the hardest of times. Even going as far as mending the damage caused by the quarrel between Ferathir and V’ieh and ultimately aiding in the restoration of her Oath. Though he constantly rejected the notion of partaking in the Oath, Thata’wo seemingly always made it a point to be there for the Oathsworn, despite their constant agitations with the Keeper. His loyalties once again became evident when he rescued Ferathir from certain death. Because of his actions, (and inactions of others), Ferathir came to realize that the purpose of the Oath had become meaningless. If someone like him could outright reject the Oath but act more the part of Oathsworn than they themselves could, then there truly was no point in the Vigil remaining as it was. No lofty promises or oaths would ever guarantee that the vision Ferathir had would become a reality. Their bond has been solidified by trust. Now that the Vigil has been reformed into a unit of individuals aiming to deal with the Garlean threat Thata’wo acts as a trusted friend and advisor for Ferathir. Expand Amianne Brineux ( Φ ♥ ) - The Fortune-teller Ferathir met Amianne in Gridania along-side the other Oathsworn. What was supposed to be a simple day for Ferathir and Minako to bond turned out to be the introduction of a potential new Pledge or Oathsworn to the Vigil. Amianne is a fortune-teller that has seemingly discarded her past to begin anew, similarly to Ferathir in his earlier days. Because of this, Ferathir has a sort of bond with Ami and feels he can relate to her. Seeing that she was alone, he offered her shelter and company with the rest of the Oathsworn. Although she was reluctant at first, fearing he was up to no good, Amianne agreed and found to her surprise that he was in fact genuine. She took residence in the Abode of the Oathsworn for some time before she acquired her own living space elsewhere. Amianne returned and shortly after exchanged Oaths with Minako before Ferathir, officially becoming one of the Oathsworn. She now acts as Minako's astrology teacher while carrying out her Vigil to the Oathsworn. Amianne has been significantly absent in Ferathir’s life and subsequently from her Vigil. This has, in turn, affected the Hyur in many different ways. Her absence (along with others who swore) is part of the reason he ultimately decided to absolve every one of their Oath and ultimately ending the Vigil. Expand Mikomi Megami ( Φ ♥ ) - The Loyal One Mikomi is Ferathir's childhood friend, whom he met long before Ishgard closed off its gates to the other city-states and went into isolation. Ferathir has never really spoken much about her, but he seems to be fiercely protective of her. It is clear that "Mikomi Megami" is not her real name, but rather an alias and it is safe to assume that Ferathir likely knows more about this gorgeous Miqo'te more than anyone else alive, including her real name. Mikomi was Ferathir's first exposure to the Miqo'te race and it is because of the reminder of his dear childhood friend that Ferathir saved V'ieh Vhessi during his mindless travels in the Sagolii Desert. The two reconnected when Ferathir traveled to Ishgard for some time. While there, Ferathir introduced Mikomi to the Oath and returned to the Goblet with her. However, shortly after, Mikomi has become a rare sight-- likely busy or off adventuring somewhere on her own. He hopes she is well and is eager to introduce her to her other Oathsiblings. Mikomi has been significantly absent in Ferathir’s life and subsequently from her Vigil. This has, in turn, affected the Hyur in many different ways. Her absence (along with others who swore) is part of the reason he ultimately decided to absolve every one of their Oath and ultimately ending the Vigil. Expand V'ashir Tia ( Φ ♦ ) - The Silk Tongued V'ashir is V'ieh's wayward brother. Much like his sister, he is a tragic character with a lot of shrouded mysteries. Mysteries that Ferathir is slowly but surely uncovering at the behest of his sister (albeit there is self interest there.) V'ashir arrived at a turning point in V'ieh life that has made the entirety of his reception shaky, at best. Nevertheless, the Oathsworn have tried to accomodate to this new addition as smoothly as possible. He often presents himself as a suave and collected individual, but Ferathir sees beyond that exterior and realizes how distraught he truly is. After a series of events, V'ashir discovered bits and pieces about the Oath that led him to ask Ferathir about it. He pledged himself before Ferathir and Hanatsuma, to which the both of them agreed and accepted the miqo'te's pledge. Ferathir hoped that V'ashir would continue to honor his promise and evolves his pledge into an Oath. However, like his sister, V'ashir has also been incredibly absent. Therefore falling short on his pledge. Expand Miriella Srilanka ( ● ✖) - The Would be Pledge Ferathir met Miriella when V'ieh brought her in under a pledge to the Vigil. Ferathir was never too fond of her on a personal level at first, mainly due to the circumstances of her initiation. V'ieh promised Miriella a date... or two, in exchange for her pledging to the Vigil. However, he was also not fond of the girl's disregard over her words, who constantly questioned every single motive and action done by Ferathir and even belittled the Oath. Regardless of this, Ferathir did open up to Miriella, even if briefly. This, however, was short lived. Miriella's pledge was renounced by Minako after V'ieh found herself struggling with the situation she orchestrated involving Miriella. While Ferathir did not like the circumstances of the situation, he never harbored ill-will towards Miriella and hoped that V'ieh had learned a valuable lesson from the entire ordeal. Since her departure, Ferathir has neither seen nor heard from Miriella. On rare occasions he will get curious and wonder what she could possibly be up to today. Expand Fleeting Dawn ( ♦ ? ) - The Hearty One An awkward meeting that soon blossomed into a solid friendship, and perhaps even a bit of a romantic interest. This character is such a polar opposite of Ferathir, that often times Ferathir secretly finds himself a bit upset or annoyed with Fleeting Dawn (although he will always deny it.) Nevertheless, he has grown to care for her very much in their short friendship and is ever so concerned with her well-being. While he doesn't know much about her past personally, he is keen enough to perceive that there is much more than meets the eye to this Roegadyn who would laugh away at life's hardships. Ferathir has not seen nor heard much from Fleeting Dawn lately. But he knows that, somewhere in Eorzea, that Roegadyn is out there starting trouble and laughing her life away. Expand Yari no Suna ( ♦ ✔ ? ) - The Eccentric Engineer Ferathir's first encounter with Suna was, at best, strange. She appeared out of nowhere, darting through the main hall of his Free Company home, only to be found in the home's bathing area 'fixing' the hot tub. After some awkwardness, pleasantries and exchanged words the two decided upon Suna becoming a consulting engineer for the Oathsworn Vigil, since she was already a part of another Free Company. Ferathir was incredibly excited at all the possibilities that may come from his partnership with Suna and hopes that theirs will be a prosperous one. With the Oathsworn's fleet fully functioning and now exploring the Sea of Clouds, Suna has not been seen in the premises of the abode. Ferathir assumes that she is likely off somewhere helping others with her expertise in airships. Expand "Asha" of the Kha ( ● ) - Professional Thata'wo Hater Ferathir met "Asha" when he was invited by V'ieh Vhessi to go to her bar-night event in the home of the Free Company she belongs to. She presented herself to be a rather polite and seemingly gentle Xaela, though that was quickly proven to be complicatedly different from reality once he saw how she interacted with Thata'wo, one of his closer friends. The two seemed to bicker quite a bit and it was evident that she didn't have the highest of regards for Thata'wo. Nevertheless, she was pleasant towards Ferathir throughout the night and he did quite enjoy that. Ferathir did find himself feeling conflicted, as even he mentioned that under normal circumstances he would not socialize heavily with people outside of his "circle." He thought it odd that this Au Ra of Xaela heritage housed traits very uncommon to the known Xaela tribes. Blue eyes, pale skin. Beautiful, surely, but very different. Then again, he didn't pay much thought beyond that as he didn't know of many Xaela to begin with. Ferathir's encounter with her was yet another milestone for him and hopes to have more interactions with her in a near future, provided they are as pleasant as the first. Expand Hanatsuma Maibito ( ● ) - The Pink Refugee It is safe to say that Ferathir is incredibly sympathetic to the Auri refugees of Orthard. Hanatsuma is no exception to this. She managed to stumble across the Abode of the Vigil on mere accident after attempting to gather information pertaining to numerous attacks. After hearing her plight, Ferathir offered her employment, shelter and care until she was ready to move on. Ferathir is quite glad to have met Hanatsuma, as she has proven to be a loyal ally. She has managed to settle into her own place in the Goblet and has even married since she met the Oathsworn. Sometime after the termination of the Oathsworn Solutions, Ferathir thought it would be ideal to extend the Oath onto Hanatsuma, who had loyally remained with the Oathsworn through some difficult times. This lasted for a rather brief time before Hanatsuma departed without much of a word. Due to this, Ferathir's opinion over Hanatsuma has changed. She is an Oathbreaker in his eyes, but despite this and whatever reasons may have led to her departure, he doesn't harbor animosity toward her. Expand R'anael Lea ( ♥ ✔ ) - Freedom Incarnate R'anael was originally a Retainer hired by Ferathir to carry out menial tasks and hold on to some of his belongings. At first, he found her to be a little annoying, but R'anael thought very much the same of him in return. Regardless, after continued time together, R'anael and Ferathir both warmed up to each other. And it is because of Ferathir that R'anael became inspired to leave the Retainer business behind and become an adventurer herself. While they walk different life styles, they two make a great pair and know how to get things done. R'anael managed to earn Ferathir's trust, and as such, he confides in her often. R'anael reminds Ferathir of his actual younger sister, reflecting this reminder onto R'anael and treating her as if she was the same. There was a period of time where Ferathir considered extending the Oath to R’anael. However, she departed, for reasons she later confessed to being that she was not included in whatever Ferathir was doing in the background, despite being loyal to him since she became his retainer. This stung Ferathir’s ego a bit and served as yet another mark of the Oath doing more harm than good. The two have reconciled and remain good friends, helping each other in whatever ways they can. Expand Malashae Crystalsong ( ● ) - The Tower Malashae is a work acquaintance of V'ieh's and after V'ieh's recommendation she was employed by Ferathir to work as a Retainer. While his initial reaction was one of apprehension, he feels that there could be great potential in Malashae, given enough time. He hopes to continue working with her prosperously in the future to come. Expand Valadron Karzov ( ● ) - The Silent Much like Malashae, Valadron is another one of V'ieh's work acquaintances. After being recommended by V'ieh, Ferathir hired him as a sort of Retainer that would seemingly specialize in security. Valadron is eerily quiet at times and this can unnerve Ferathir from time to time. Nevertheless, he placed trust in V'ieh's judgement of character, even if that had failed in the past, and hopes to have a prosperous relationship with the Miqo'te. Expand Zazavasi Papavasi ( ● ) - The Tiny Ferathir's first encounter with Zazavasi was brief. It was during his wedding to Malashae Crystalsong that they met, but he had heard of the man previously. He is to be employed by Ferathir, but has not officially done so due to not having been able to sit down with the man. Expand Andromeda Dulaque ( ● ✔ ) - The Courtesan Andromeda was the first Courtesan Ferathir came to know personally-- or rather, professionally. He came across her when he was visiting The Keeper's Kiss brothel with V'ashir and Thata'wo, in hopes of finding Thata'wo "good company" to take a reluctant V'ieh's place. He sat and discussed business with the lady and found her professional mannerism to be quite pleasant, despite her field of work. While he does not see himself dealing with her on a "business" level anytime soon, he did promise her to send referrals her way if he came across any in the future. He does, however, hope he can somehow befriend her in the future, as this would prove ideal for someone like him-- allowing him to expand his business by word of mouth or through her own personal use. Expand Shino Senkatsu ( ● ) - Hanatsuma's companion Ferathir met Shino through Hanatsuma, who happens to be her bonded companion. Ferathir doesn't know much about Shino herself, but he assumes that she is a good person based on the few interactions he has had with her. After Hanatsuma's departure, Ferathir has not seen nor heard much from Shino. Expand Ajai Olkund ( ● ) - Leader of the Dawn Vigil Ajai introduced herself to Ferathir at his company’s home upon hearing of their like-minded goals. She was the leader of a Free Company known as the Dawn Vigil, whose goal was to deal with the Garlean Empire similarly to how Ferathir’s new company would. Ajai sought to strike and solidify an alliance between the two companies to prosper mutual growth and progress. Ferathir came to agree to this alliance, but was soon met with a variety of out worldly scenarios provided by the Dawn Vigil. Eventually, Ferathir came to lose faith in Ajai and her company as troubles continued to crop up within her ranks. Despite his outward skepticism and cynicism towards the Xaela nearing the end of their alliance, Ferathir was devastated that he felt obligated to cut ties with Ajai and the Dawn Vigil. He had grown quite fond of Ajai during the brief time they shared together, but he would not afford distractions from his true goal and purpose; crippling the Empire and rescuing Minako. Since his last encounter with Ajai, he has not seen nor heard from her or her company again. Expand Mia Rengale ( ● ) - The Insane Mia was, undoubtedly, one of the most ‘interesting’ characters Ferathir had encountered to this day. A Hyur of unknown origin, Mia often found herself around the Dawn Vigil led by Ajai, despite their constant hostilities toward one another. Mia’s first impression upon Ferathir was less than favorable, but the darkness in her drew Ferathir’s curiosity, mainly because it reminded him of his own at the time. Despite being openly hostile, however, Mia was quite receptive to Ferathir and seemingly developed feelings for him. Ferathir assisted the Hyurian woman in several occasions, as she was constantly plagued by problems due to her involvement with void magicks as well as other questionable tendencies. Mia was ultimately cured of her ailments, but was left defenseless. Upon their last interaction, Mia expressed to Ferathir Ajai’s recent change of behavior as well as the ‘treatment’ she was met with by the Dawn Vigil, ultimately affecting Ferathir’s outward opinion of Ajai and her free company. After this, however, Mia was not seen nor heard from again. Expand H’rana Kova ( ● ) - The Wannabe Dawnbreaker Long before the time of the Oathsworn Vigil’s First Oath, Ferathir often traveled around as an adventurer, making a living and helping individuals all in hopes of making a name for himself. In his travels he met a (one of many) young Miqo’te by the name of H’rana Kova. Rana had departed from her tribe, seeking to begin life anew, when she was cornered by a scalekin of massive proportions. In a display of heroism, Ferathir dispatched the beast and saved Rana from her grim fate. The two remained a part of each-other’s company briefly, as Ferathir offered her some form of training (much like he had done with V’ieh Vhessi when he first met her) and eventually the two parted ways. Still seeking to begin anew, H’rana discarded her old name and adopted the name of “Juliette Dawnbreaker”, taking her savior’s alias as her own out of respect and admiration. After some time of traveling alone, the young adventurer sought out to find her hero, which was effortless once she stumbled upon one of his recruitment parchments found in one of the major cities. Without much delay, she set course for his company’s home and met the man that once saved her. Ferathir was, undoubtedly, skeptical of her arrival. And even more wary of her taking upon his name—after all, he didn’t want it dredged across mud… But such trite distractions were below him, at the time. He welcomed her, conversed with her, and ultimately allowed her to remain within his living space for some time until she decided her own fate with her actions.

Expand The Last Vigil (P1) - Descent to Madness

The sound of a high-pitched shrill forced Ferathir awake from his restless slumber. Yet another night where the Oathkeeper of the Oathsworn Vigil experienced the same nightmare… The shades of his past have been tormenting him relentlessly, leaving him with little rest or room for more pleasant thoughts. “Again…”, Ferathir groaned as he adjusted himself. Several drops of sweat rolled down his forehead and cheek, surely a sign of fatigue from the intensity of his dreams. He shifted his sight to his right as he examined his beloved sleep peacefully. He sighed in relief and then scouted the small apartment with several quick glances and found all to be in order. “These dreams… Why do they keep happening?”, he thought to himself. “At first, they were dreams of Alathariel. Of when we met… and of when I lost her… But slowly the dreams started to change. Now, the dreams are essentially the same, except Minako now takes Alathariel’s place. But… why? (You know why) I don’t understand…” The Hyur slowly stood up and quietly sunk into his bath, hoping to relax and rid himself from the stresses induced by his dreams. The water was warm and his body welcomed it as his stiff muscles slowly loosened. Ferathir expressed satisfaction with another sigh of relief as he leaned against the inside of the bath. “I suppose it could be nothing (It is...)… Could just be stress. So much to do and so much going on… And I can’t deny that the current state of the Oath is getting to me… I’ve not seen nor heard from V’ieh, Amianne or Mikomi in months. Do they not understand what the Oath is..? Why even accept it if…” Ferathir groaned in frustration as he shifted his weight slightly. “They’ll return (Gone forever) eventually. Though I guess I should have a talk with (The traitors) all of them…” Ferathir shook his head. What was this feeling? It was alarming, but the Hyur attributed it to exhaustion. “That’s enough of that, I suppose…” The man slowly rose from his tub and reached for a towel as he dried his body. “Perhaps I will attempt sleep once more…” Ferathir convinced himself to return to bed where he would lay next to his love. He lovingly reached over to embrace Minako, but upon turning, it became evident that was not her. In her place, a mass of shadow scowled at him with burning red eyes as Ferathir jumped back. The once minty-green hair on the figure slowly lost its vibrant color and became black as night. The dark amalgamation slowly rose and stared at Ferathir like a beast ready to defend its territory. Without any indication, the shadow lounged at the Hyur with a gaping maw capable of consuming a man whole. (Soon, you will become the steed and I the KIIIIIIING!) “Ahhh!” Ferathir jumped up quickly and awoke from his slumber. He finally realized that he had been asleep the whole time. The Hyur was perplexed at what had just happened and in a panic checked himself for any possible wounds. Upon discovering he was unharmed, he sighed and shook his head. His heart beat echoed in the small room as dread still hung heavily in the air. “What is happening to me..?”

Expand (Pending) The Last Vigil (P2) - Vigil of Despair
Context: In a change of pace, Ferathir, Minako and Thata'wo sign up for a scouting mission in the East Shroud along the borders of Baelsar's wall at the behest of their respective Grand Companies. Tragedy strikes as Ferathir is left mortally wounded and Minako is taken captive by Garlean forces in a surprise attack.

Expand (Pending) The Last Vigil (P3) - The Darkest Oath
Context: Ferathir vows to rescue Minako and restructures the Oathsworn Vigil to do so. The First Oath is discarded and the "Last Oath" is created; A promise to eradicate all Garleans from the face of Hydaelyn.

THE OATH

The Oathsworn Vigil is a free company led by Ferathir Dawnbreaker. When first created, it was an unorganized brother/sisterhood of individuals who swore what was known as “the Oath” to each other. To produce revenue, the front of the Vigil briefly became a procuring company that aimed to provide customers with a wide variety of wares and unique items. This venture, however, did not last and the Vigil reverted back to its brother/sisterhood theme. Ferathir ended everyone’s Oath and subsequently their Vigil when he came to realize the futility behind it. He reformed the Oathsworn Vigil as a company of skilled combatants willing to fight against the Garlean Empire, his motives fueled by vengeance and for the kidnaping of Minako Obinata.

The more secretive side; The Oath: The Oath "I swear onto thee my unwavering loyalty, that you might not experience solitude anymore. I swear onto thee my wrath to those who would harm you. I swear onto thee an Oath that transcends all bonds; an eternal Vigil so that none may overtake you. I will be your friend... your brother... your father... your son... your husband. I will be your sword and your shield. Now and always." - Ferathir Dawnbreaker Under special circumstances certain individuals would be approached by Ferathir or any other Oathsworn and be inducted into what is known as "The Oath." Once an Oathsworn, these sworn brothers and sisters would live for one another. Helping each other overcome any hardship any one of them may face. Fame, Glory and Fortune are all well and good... But to the Oathsworn Vigil all of these things mean nothing next to the well-being of their sworn brothers and sisters. Swearing an oath to one person (or accepting the oath from one person) meant you swore to all current Oathsworn. Ferathir took the Oath very seriously and would not offer it to just anyone. Reciting the oath was the ultimate form of love, care and respect he can ever show to a person, even if they didn't perceive it as such or understood it right away. Taking the oath or reciting the oath and dishonoring it was the greatest insult there is for any who was an Oathsworn.

Expand What used to be; Oathsworn Solutions:

The Oathsworn Vigil specialized in many different business fields; Transportation, Protection and the Procuring or Creation of certain items just to list a few of the services it provided as a free company. Ferathir himself is a master crafter and usually handled most of the business operations that come through the company's door. The company had been expanding its airship fleet in hopes of providing even more goods and services for current and future clients. Ferathir has recently terminated the Oathsworn Solutions business in hopes of focusing more on the actual Oath that bonded the Oathsworn in the first place.

Expand Its new purpose; Retribution against the Empire:

While serving their respective Grand Companies, Ferathir, Thata’wo and Minako went on a scouting mission in the East Shroud, near Baelsar’s Wall. Ferathir and Minako were ambushed by Garleans and a battle broke out that left Ferathir mortally wounded and Minako incapacitated and captured by their enemies. Thata'wo was able to rescue Ferathir, but Minako was still taken. Weeks after recovering from his grievous wound, Ferathir swore that he would rescue Minako and take down anyone that stood in his way. To accomplish his goals he restructured the Oathsworn Vigil into a unit of sorts that would combat the Garleans wherever they may be. He now roams Eorzea recruiting individuals that would join the battle against the Empire before the Grand Alliance makes its move east and far-east.
