NOTABLE MARKINGS :
- Mark of the Red Colts. . . The dark red tattoo on Anaguma's right cheekbone is shaped like an ornate dagger, very similar in design to his Red Misericordes. It was the emblem of the Red Colts, a small gang of young cutthroats that could be found in Limsa Lominsa's Lower Decks in the years leading up to the Seventh Umbral Calamity. Of the dozen or so members whom once wore the mark, only four now remain. See the RP Hooks/OOC Info tab for more information.
- Ferrum Family Traits . . Anaguma's eyes are like the frozen landscape of Garlemald itself, as is immediately telling with direct relations to the Ferrum family. Receiving a glare from him can be understandably intimidating, like a chill of ice with a hidden fire beneath. They also garner a reputation for their pale blonde hair, despite it being a common trait in the Empire. Anaguma has mostly taken after his mother in this regard though traces can be seen if one looks hard enough.
Shinobi gear. A combination of leather and plate, adorned with Far Eastern textiles.

- Mostly self-sufficient if he can be.
- Tenacious, stubbornly so.
- Highly unorthodox at times, but ultimately clever.
- Dismissive or standoffish around unfamiliar people.
- Too proud to accept help when needed.
- Generally unwilling to try new things, a creature of habit.
- Losing his family, natural for a father.
- His past catching up to him.
- Confronting anyone/anything he isn't able to defeat.
- Anaguma is fluent in Thieves' Cant and incorporates it into his regular speech, though it varies depending on who he is speaking to.

Averse to the traditional guerilla tactics of his shinobi brethren, Anaguma prefers the more rough and tumble approach of Limsa Lominsa. To help him accomplish this, his chosen arms are his Red Misericordes, their blades forged with high steel in the necessary curvature required for parrying and acrobatics.
When pushed, the thin limbal rings in Anaguma's eyes will burn a bright crimson. But as of recently when pushed to his absolute limit, a third eye akin to a Garlean's will appear on his forehead in this same light. A purely symbolic representation of both enlightenment to the shinobi arts, and a mockery of his true ancestry.
Anaguma's use of ninjutsu, along with the crimson glow in his eyes, also contains a unique characteristic. As the hand seals are performed the magical arithmetic in each gesture churns and reshapes the ambient aether, creating a strong smell of ozone.
In terms of skill, Anaguma is a jonin-level ninja like Yugiri Mistwalker, Karasu Redbeak, and Oboro Moonrise.
A product of Naldiq & Vymelli's, specially forged using high steel. Purposed for duelling, as opposed to assassination.
A mysterious heirloom passed down throughout eras. Said to have first originated from Shinobi-no-Sato during the time of Sasuke.
A shinobi's escape tools. Anaguma has crafted his own with local Limsan ingredients, so they behave more like explosives.
Contains a few files, lockpicks, a small mirror, a pair of narrow-bladed scissors, a pair of pliers, and a screwdriver.
The Kenesa Clan's history is entirely encompassed within the days leading up to The Battle of Ghimlyt Dark. Anaguma, wounded from his encounter with a necromancer, stumbled and took shelter within Specula Imperatoris, hidden from the Eorzean Alliance as their supply lines mobilised. With only a small campfire as company come nightfall Anaguma, out of anguish or otherwise, properly acknowledged his ancestry and formed the Kenesa Clan for him and his family.
The Kenesa Clan is very atypical from what is expected of shinobi, there are precious few elements from the Far East which influence them. Instead the overall concept is to acknowledge one's heritage, but above all stand up for oneself.
It's incredibly unlikely to be taken on as a student.
CLOTHING: Unlike those more notable groups such as the Fuma, Iga, or Nagae clans, the Kenesa Clan does not adopt an official uniform for itself. Instead the clan embraces its grassroots origins by making do with one's current possessions and sense of self. So whether it be cloth, leather, or plated armour, a member of the clan simply adorns their current wear with a red tapestry of Far Eastern textiles.
SIGIL: The Kenesa Clan adopts the Ke character of the Doman alphabet. It can be interpreted that the character symbolises a master and student, or parent and child. The four red markings flickering around the Ke represent the clan's four tenets, their use of red adornments, and their four signature mudra.
TENETS:
- Hide in plain sight, because walls are just a cage.
- Conceal your intentions, but don't forget them.
- Trust your instincts, gut feelings never lead you astray.
- Strike the shepherd, and the flock scatters.
CURRENT MEMBERS:
- Anaguma Kenesa, First Lord
- Genevieve Kenesa
A red sphere of unaspected aether, similar in form and function to both a Rasengan and Spirit Ball.
A fusion of Huton and Second Wind techniques, where one's aether is charged and primed to enhance the user's reflexes.
An iteration of a Bunshin technique. The user summons two shadow clones to aid them.
Much akin to the Meisui technique where the user can create water from the air. Can be manipulated telepathically.
The backstory of Anaguma will often reference and occur within the canon events of the Final Fantasy XIV, but will not alter them in any way.
1552, 4th Umbral Moon: Doma's Last Stand
|
---|
Since 1528 of the Sixth Astral Era the Garlean warmachine had swept across the eastern continent of Hydaelyn, twenty-four years of subjugation to most, and utter obliteration to defiant. It was now that the Empire stood at the crux of total conquest of Othard, and their final target now lay before them across the One River; Doma itself.
Unbeknownst to their foe was a collaborative effort of Doma’s geomancers and shinobi, having supplanted themselves along the length of the Moon Gates. Their consecutive application of ninjutsu and geomancy disrupted the local aether currents, immediately ceasing the sustained flight of all approaching craft. With the airborne invasion deemed an embarrassment, imperial forces were quick to commission a new forward base in Yanxia; Castrum Fluminis, the Empire's new spearhead into the city-state. All celebration within Doma quickly fell silent, as their sentries spotted the concerted construction works across the One River. It was but a matter of time before they found themselves at the mercy of Garlemald, and they had not the manpower for open conflict. It had now become a war of attrition. Garlemald, anticipating an opportunistic retaliation from their foe, despatched several manipuli to the surrounding settlements around the Fluminis site. Some malms to the west the riverside hamlet of Ashi would awake to an imperial force one-hundred men strong, and under the command of Atticus quo Ferrum.
Ruthless and efficient, Atticus was the model officer in the eyes of his superiors, however the young man's decorum deviated when their gaze was averted. Prone to complacent behaviour once comfortable with his station, his breaches of military conduct could vary from mild transgressions to matters far more serious. Soldiers whispered of him abducting the local women to his quarters and in Ashi was this no different, Atticus had taken a liking a fisherwoman named Homura Kenesa...
The last ditch effort for Doma’s people had truly begun, and Garlemald knew they would be coming. |

Tessa Kenesa, The White Witch (Estranged). ⚭ ♥ ●
|
---|
Theresa "Tessa" Marie Kells is a quite literally an otherworldly woman and an unlikely spouse for Anaguma. Like most of their free company, he utterly despised her but now finds her absence difficult to accept. The nature of their personalities spiralled their relationship out of control at times, but they persevered. Leaving their daughter Genevieve with her father, she has left the warm waters of Limsa Lominsa for Ishgard's frozen tundra. He has not heard from her. |
Aurelia quo Ferrum, Half Sister. ●
|
---|
The only legitimate child of Atticus and the commanding officer of the House Ferrum military cohort. She met her younger brother once only, and feels incredibly slighted that her father seems to favour a scornful, illegitimate bastard child rather than his own daughter. |
NPC: Genevieve Ephiny Kenesa, Little Starling.
|
---|
"Eva" is the daughter of Anaguma and Tessa, inheriting her father's crystal blue eyes, and her mother's vibrant blonde hair. The nature of her birth hints she may be gifted, though Anaguma's priority is to raise her as a normal child. She is too young to understand, but her father does everything he can to ensure she never feels neglected, as he once was. |
NPC: Atticus sas Ferrum, Father. ●
|
---|
In his lowest moments Atticus is the man whom Anaguma holds responsible for everything that has ever gone wrong in his life. The noble Garlean has tried numerous times to build a rapport with his estranged son, though even in the best of times Anaguma reluctant to accept his offers. |

- ■ "Those sorts from the Far East all 'ave dark 'air an' dark eyes, all except one of 'em. He ain't like the rest, one look from 'im makes me uneasy..." - A purveyor of bowse.
- ■ "If yer in the market fer a haul a' blue octopus, young 'Naguma's yer man. Lad's one a' the few good at catchin' 'em, and sells 'em cheaper than the other lackwits." - Local fishmonger.
- ■ "Makes me sick, that one. Not only 'im, but 'is wife's just as bad! Dey fink dey so damn 'ttractive, walkin' 'round Limsa like we's gonna worship 'em or somefing! Dey's got some nerve... - A commoner, likely rather ugly.
- ■ "Sir, I understand your concern, but according to our records that particular gang disbanded soon after the signing of the Galadion Accord. We assure you there is nothing to fear from our longshoreman. As for the tattoo still remaining on his face...I imagine 'tis just hard to remove. If you deem my response as unsatisfactory, please direct your complaint to the front desk of Mealvaan's Gate." - R'baharra, Mealvaan's Gate.

- ■ MEALVAAN'S GATE: Anaguma is often hired by the Arcanists Guild to act as a labourer to load/unload the ships that go to and from the city-state. Your character could be a sailor, a fellow employee, an arcanist, or simply a bystander.
- ■ THE LOWER DECKS: The dagger tattoo on Anaguma's cheek represents the mark of the Red Colts, a pre-Calamity Lower Decks gang consisting of roughly a dozen teenagers, their claim to fame being loitering and petty theft. Anaguma often haunts Fisherman's Bottom, or is among the crowds of Hawker's Alley.
- ■ THE FAR EAST: With his ice blue eyes and brown-blonde hair, Anaguma's name is the only thing that insinuates he has Far Eastern ancestry. However certain characters may recognise the subtle tells that may give away his identity as shinobi.
- ■ GARLEMALD: A communication from Garlemald has been broadcast to all imperial forces currently stationed in Aldenard and Vylbrand, from a Tribunis Angusticlavius Atticus sas Ferrum. Anaguma Kenesa; mid-twenties, five and seven tall, blue eyes, brown-blonde hair, dagger tattoo...is to be apprehended and submitted to the closest Castrum in proximity to his whereabouts for immediate extradition to the Capital.
- ■ Other Characters: Aurelia quo Ferrum, an imperial noblewoman and Anaguma's estranged sister.
- ■ Timezone: GMT+10:00 Australian Eastern Standard Time.
- ■ Discord: It's Naga#5417
I am very strict on established lore, but will relax my stance if there are grey areas or plausible scenarios. Characters need to feel like they belong in the world together, and so I believe the established canon is what binds our characters together more than roleplay itself. My knowledge on canon isn't perfect, and I'm happy to correct and be corrected.
Both of my characters can fight and do so expertly in their respective disciplines. When faced with another combat-capable opponent, I will follow the honour system of dice rolls. If faced against a novice, I reserve my right to dictate the outcome of the encounter. I expect a measure of common sense during fights, so any "special moves" or limit break abilities are at a GM's discretion, used sparingly to avoid depreciation, and only if they fit the situation. In terms of power they are scaled to be believable e.g. Anaguma's signature Jonetsudan will not blow through a blast door made of cermet, try as he might.
- ■ Anaguma is a character built to fit any roleplay style, but a realistic setting is always preferred over fantasy.
- ■ I like to read other wiki pages and Carrd profiles, and prefer to roleplay with those that have them.
- ■ I will not roleplay with inorganic characters. Inorganic meaning anyone who reasonably couldn't/shouldn't exist, like immortality.
- ■ Dialogue is my strength, so my interactions are generally brief. I make use of proper grammar and I expect the same in return.
I'm good for most dark themes, and I rarely take offense to anything. But I ask that we discuss the following if a scenario were to present them.
- ■ Disfigurement: I'm not completely against it, but it depends on where and what the disfigurement is.
- ■ Character death: That's up to me, but my characters generally don't place themselves in those situations anyway.
- ■ Theft of property: Pickpocketing or confiscating say, Anaguma's soul crystal without my consent will automatically fail.
- ■ Rape: I've implied it in a sentence of Anaguma's backstory, but that's as far as I'll go.
