Appearance & Personality

Standing at 5'9 Gen is not an imposing figure, he moves silently and swiftly to whatever corner he can make himself comfortable in, hanging about with a casual smile and a soft drink in his hand. Probably observing the people around him until he can scout out someone he finds worthy of his time. He's easily distracted by new and old friends alike, often forsaking his obligations to hang around with them, his carefree spirit often ignoring whatever consequences that may bring. Yet when called upon he will take it upon himself to fix it.. sooner or later (probably later)

Background

Childhood:

Once upon a time, there was a strong and beautiful female miqo'te warrior, who held little regard for the men in her tribe, she said that no male would be able to claim her as theirs, unless they first bested her. Many a nunh tried, they came at her with tooth and claw, and swords, and lances, and whatever they could get a hand on, yet none could defeat her. Then one day, a Tia appeared before her. She barely glanced at the man as he approached her. He had a board in hand and a box at his side. He sat down in front of her, giving her a friendly smile, challenging her to a game of chess. She was intrigued by the male, as he spoke to her during their match, asking her about her thoughts, dreams and hopes. She proved to be more of a challenge than he had expected. And after a fierce match, they decided to call it a draw, then retreated to her chambers.

The tribe was furious at this, a lowly Tia and one of their finest hunters and warriors. Tired of their narrow minded culture, the two left the tribe, living as wanderers. They took up the trade of dungeon explorers and historians. After some time, their son was born.

Gen was a happy child, despite his upbringing being quite strict, from morning to noon, his mother would train his martial skills, teaching him the way of the fist that her father had taught her. Then after that, his father would be his school teacher, so it continued until Gens teenage years, where he decided to strike out on his own instead of following in his parents footsteps.

Adult years: After a couple years of misadventures and personal troubles, Gen slowly became enamored with the thought of raiding old crypts and dungeons to uncover goodies and riches, and possibly return to helping his parents with their investigations of old ruins.. but preferably at greater distances so his mother wouldn't beat him up for the occasional theft he made out of the tombs he robbed. He works out of Ul'dah and the company house of the Light Crusaders. But is more often found in there drinking with his friends or spending time with his love, Flick <wip>

At first he thought he'd woo her and then be off to new adventures, yet he found himself drawn to her, and even uncharacteristically helped her several times over without any payment. As he dwelled upon it, he discovered he'd actually -fallen- for her. Having realized this, he decided he had to act upon it, or possibly lose her forever, and being a persistant bastard payed off. ● Yorric Lesh : Gen befriended Yorric pretty much instantly as the latter joined the Crusaders. Gen enjoyed his carefree attitude and bantering skills. Lately Yorrics less scrupulous methods have begun to make Gen uncomfortable, but given the things they've been through. He wont abandon his friend over ethical disputes. ● Arianne Soren : Gen senses a kindred spirit in Ari, both of them having a practical approach to morals, while still staying on the side of "good" Even if Gen is more in the grey zone than she seems to be. They share interests such as alcohol, women, and mocking Yorric. ♥ Tikka Swift He sees this young thief as someone he's growing closer to each time they meet, her crazy nature and wild spirit intrigues him. Often making him recall his own reckless days with a smile. Recently they've "helped" eachother through some dark days, and Gen feels that brought them closer as friends, even if he doesn't know if she feels like that. ● Breeze Darrus One might think Gens loathing of Breeze comes from that they where rivals for Flicks affection, but to Gen, it started before that. Flick was putting together an expedition to find Maryel who had been missing. Breeze bowed out, claiming to be injured. This made Gen consider the man a weakling and a coward, and their later rivalry didn't make him think any fonder of him ● Misha Jinri A girl Gen met in the Quicksand, they began talking and soon she revealed her interest in archeology, a subject Gen might not be an expert in but he thought he could at least teach her a thing or two about not getting eaten alive by crypt zombies. Later it turned out that she had also "stolen" Tikkas boyfriend, so he feels a bit guilty about befriending the girl.
