Server Gilgamesh GENERAL INFORMATION I’zumyn Sazhi (Pronunciation: Ee-zoo-min), hails from a dying tribe in the foothills of the Dravanian Hinterlands. She holds a great love and reverence for all kinds of magic and knowledge, born out of her upbringing in the ruins of the abandoned Sharlayan outpost in Eorzea. Her mother would tell her tall tales of the scholars and of their arts, and taught her all she would need to know to be a mage-hunter of their tribe. There was more to be had from the world than this, though, I’zumyn felt. As if it were destined, in the years after the Calamity, she makes the acquaintance of an Elezen scholar of noble upbringing, in some mysterious circumstances. With him, I’zumyn left her home in the mountains behind to make her mark in the world, to learn more of magic and equally strange things, and make her life a good one. APPEARANCE I’zumyn looks like a Keeper of the Moon, and is most certainly not a Keeper of the Moon. To her chagrin, she inherited all of her Keeper father’s looks - the round irises & pronounced canines, unlike the rest of her tribe. Her eyes are a striking violet, framed with near-constant dark circles that betray how little she sleeps, which she only exaggerates with heavy eyeshadows. Her face is aggravatingly pretty, and she knows it, and loves it; full lips, a strong nose, and a complexion which looks as if she’s been kissed all over by the sun. Her hair is an ashen blonde, made almost silver-y by the Thanalan sun, and is wavy and messy, so I’zumyn chooses, usually, to tie it in a loose braid or ponytail to keep it out of her face. Minimally taller than most Miqo’te, and tends to stand straight just to accentuate this. Her figure does not look like one of a hunter, with a curvy, chubby figure around her hips, mostly (though recently, she is beginning to shed even that, due to the nature of her job). PERSONALITY Cunning. Hedonistic. Selfish I’zumyn is a romantic, though she will deny it to her last breath. Adventure and magic are romantic and exciting, and I’zumyn is a thrill-seeker; she’ll usually agree to help you if she thinks there’s fun to be had, somehow, and even more so if there’s gil promised at the end, for her troubles. There’s no point in living if you’re not enjoying yourself, after all. And I’zumyn will be enjoying it draped in expensive fashions and eating good food, thank you very much. . . .These are carefully constructed walls, albeit delicate (she’s easier to read than she thinks), all in the name of upholding the image of a simple Miqo’te, with simple pleasures. There is a vast rift between I’zumyn and her family, her culture, and she is all too aware of this since she could comprehend it. This is also something she will deny to her dying breath, that all she really wishes, at the heart of it, is to belong. LIKES FIGHTING. Whether it’s a friendly spar or a fight to the death, a good fight gets I’zumyn’s blood pumping. SEX. Sex is good. MIQA’BOBS. About the only thing I’zumyn feels fondly of from her tribe, and she makes ‘em good. Enjoys making them and sharing with others. OPEN SPACES. Wide open, empty spaces, where there are no other people for miles. I’zumyn is sometimes quite content to travel alone, when the mood strikes her. DISLIKES EMOTIONS. Her own are a particularly vexing subject to her, usually finding them to be a vulnerability, a weakness to be taken advantage of. ROMANCE. Uncharted waters, for I’zumyn. She has never understood it. SNOBBERY. A condescending attitude is the fastest path to setting I’zumyn off into one of her many moods. STRENGTHS MAGIC. I’zumyn is a black mage of considerable talent and prowess, and an aspiring arcanist. DETERMINATION. I’zumyn is filled with DETERMINATION, no matter her goal. She will find a way, even if the path leads her to do things that others would balk at. LOYAL. ...To a select few. I’zumyn is selfish, but for about 2 or 3 people, who she would do almost anything for. Has...done almost anything for them. PASSIONATE. Nothing that I'zumyn does is half-baked. If she commits to a study, she commits, if she loves, she loves ardently. WEAKNESSES STUBBORN. Her determination is both her strength and her own downfall, leading I’zumyn even to hurt others in achieving her goals. IMPULSIVE. Tendency to act based on gut instinct… sometimes those are wrong. A large staff, almost as tall as she, in a design that looks like lightning made of iron. A sizable polished gem sits in the middle of the design, and the ends are sharpened enough to serve as a weapon themselves. Enchanted to conduct elemental aether as she wishes, and is dear to her. ARCANIMA TOME: Carried in a satchel on hunts or other such similar outings. The pages contain arcanima spells and runes, illustrated carefully and lined with enchanted rose gold ink. She taught I’zumyn thaumaturgy, some conjury, as well as how to hunt, and instilled her with a wonder of the world. I’zumyn clashes with her often, however, as she grows, as both of them are rather headstrong and stubborn, and it often leaves I’zumyn unsure of where she stands. ( ♥ ♥ ✖ ) I’zumyn’s Thoughts: "...He just needs help." I’zumyn’s oldest friend. Arismont is the second son of House Vainchelon, a minor noble house of Ishgard. Met outside the Great Gubal Library in mysterious circumstances that would shape the course of their friendship and their lives. I’zumyn pulled him from the brink of death, and left home with him on his travels. The two have a complicated relationship, based mostly out of mutual sexual gratification, and both not quite fitting in elsewhere. It was Arismont that inspired her to see the world, and Arismont that inspired her to learn black magic, and she would ask him to teach her what he knew, even though both knew this to be a dangerous path to tread. Theirs was never a healthy relationship, but recent events have strained both of them even more, causing each to become somewhat mutually destructive. Ryuu Haruko, Raen Summoner, FC Alchemist. ( ♥ ♥ ✔ 🔒) I’zumyn’s Thoughts: "....." I’zumyn has never heard the phrase, “don’t mix work and romance”. It seems to be working out okay for her, though. As the company alchemist, I’zumyn turned to Ryuu, initially, for sleeping aids, and perhaps, a cure for a corruption that festered within her aether. In the wake of Arismont leaving, and Ryuu saving her life, the Au Ra filled a void, and casual sex soon turns into a little more-- not-quite-love-but-almost. It helps that neither are looking for a proper romance, but all the same, I’zumyn finds his presence to be comforting, considering him to be a makeshift, temporary home, that nowhere, or no one else quite lives up to. Lavender Skies, Combat healer, Scholar. ( ♥ ✔🔃) I’zumyn’s Thoughts: "I hope Lavender finds someone who truly loves her." I’zumyn and Lavender have been friends almost as long as she has known Arismont, and the two met as adventurers after taking on the same job to assist in the clearing out of some old ruins in the Shroud, hitting it off when they shared a love for magic. Currently, I’zumyn is not quite sure where she stands with Lavender, painfully aware of the other miqo’te’s feelings for her, and her own non-existent romantic inclinations. I’zumyn will take your money and kill things for you. She is a member of the Lunar Hunting Guild, a company which dedicates itself to keeping Eorzea safe for the smallfolk by taking care of threats to public safety. Should you require their services, one only needs to come by the house, situated in the Goblet. [ward 3, plot 3] Hunting: In addition to that, I’zumyn often leaves on solo hunting trips, and can be found almost anywhere in Eorzea, if there’s a hunt to be had! This is far more likely than finding her in any of the city states, as she likes to avoid overcrowded areas as best as possible. Magic: I’zumyn almost always carries a staff on her back, or a tome at her hip, and though she dislikes most people on principle, she is always pleased to strike up a conversation about magic. Likewise, if your character is (exceptionally) magically talented, or aetherically sensitive, they may pick up on tiny traces of void energies and corruption within I’zumyn’s aether. (Please ask me about this specifically if you want to use!) Saint Reymanaud’s Cathedral: I’zumyn had been seen at the Cathedral a couple of times within the past couple of moons [as of16/08/2016]. Involved a little bit of dramatics revolving around accusations of heresy and forbidden magicks. ABOUT THE PLAYER Hello! I play I’zumyn Sazhi on the Gilgamesh server. I consider myself a fairly experienced & avid roleplayer, and have been in other communities for a few years now, though I began RP in FFXIV communities about 6months(?) or so back. I’m always happy to strike up new friendships and RP, and more than usually open to all kinds of plotting and connecting with people. As I play on Gilgamesh and not Balmung, I’m available to RP elsewhere; tumblr, Discord, just shoot me a message over at my tumblr and ask about it! THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND... EU Player. I’m based in the UK. While I have a terrible sleep schedule anyway, timezones are the biggest bane of my life, and I’m sure they’ll clash no matter how hard anyone tries. Sometimes I’m just plain difficult to catch. Story heavy. I like plot and story heavy RP. I also like leaning towards dark/mature themes, and creating friction between characters. Probably not the person to go to if you don’t like this. Life....I have one, and it’s not that great, but it’s there. Sometimes I’ll be busy, and don’t want to do anything other than my own thing. I also already have an RP FC that I love, as well as other projects outside of FFXIV (surprisingly). If I say I’m occupied already, it’s likely not because I dislike you. I’zumyn is a promiscuous character, so I’m not opposed to ERP, but I don’t like to do it for the sake of doing it, nor will I do it with randoms.
