Lavender Skies
|
[edit]
Lavender Skies is a Sunseeker Miqo’te raised by lalafellan parents. She was born in Ul’dah, and spent the first few years of her childhood there. However, she was rather sickly, so she never got to see much of the city. When her family’s merchant business ran into the ground, the trio moved to Gridania, her parents taking up popoto farming to keep the family afloat. Lavender began to learn conjury as a means to make herself better, forming a strong bond with her mentor. Her parents were glad to see her condition improve, and she grew to love the city, at the cost of developing a slight hatred for popotoes. Later, however, her mentor would die in the calamity, and Lavender would run off to become a pirate. She spent her days fighting Garleans and learning arcanima from a friend and crewmate. However, one day two of her crewmates turned against them, injuring her and the captain and killing one of her friends. Afterwards, she gave up piracy, spending her time either selling her talent for healing or studying the scholarly arts until she joined the Lunar Hunting Guild.
Lavender is taller than most female miqo’te, and a bit broader in the shoulder as well. Her most striking feature is her hooked nose and the large scar across it, her prominent eyebrows coming a close second. Her hair and fur is a wine red, and her eyes a bright teal, a stark contrast from the dark brown of her skin. As a mage, she isn’t very built, though she insists she’s been trying to get in better shape. There’s a scar on her left thigh as well, from what appears to be a spear, looking newer and angrier than the one on her face.
Friendly. Romantic. Awkward. Not the kind of person to be alone, Lavender thrives off of spending time with others. While her initial attempts at socializing are usually painfully awkward, her earnestness tends to get her far. She’s a helpless romantic in all senses, with a love for adventure, magic, and romance. Lavender cares greatly about her friends, but has a horrible tendency to hope they care about her a bit too much back. While she doesn’t mean any harm, it usually ends up with her swooning like a lovesick fool after her friends, which tends to get awkward. She has a good sense of humor, and enjoys goofing off with friends in her free time. If she upsets people she cares about, she'll go out of her way to apologize, but can be stubborn and self righteous if she doesn't like the person.

Here is a list of recent and/or notable fights, roleplay scenes, etc. that CHARACTER has been a part of. This list is by no means all inclusive, and serves more as a general reference as to what HE/SHE has been up to.
Lavender was born in Ul’dah, raised by her three parents—K’linpo, Vivika and Memedesu. The three made their money as merchants, though they dreamed of opening a restaurant one day with the profits. K’linpo was a sickly woman, however, and died of pneumonia while Lavender was young. Lavender took after her birth mother more than anyone wished in those regards, and spent much of her early childhood indoors. They hoped to keep her healthy while they looked for a cure from the Alchemist’s Guild, but nothing seemed to help for more than a short while. It was because of her need to stay indoors, away from strangers to avoid becoming sicker, that Lavender developed a love of reading. She dreamed of being a pirate, of riding dragons, of slaying monsters, and all the other things she’d likely never get to do. She snuck out once, to get a glimpse of the Thaumaturge’s Guild, but the cold that stayed with her for weeks made her question whether it was even worth it. Eventually the merchant business ran into the ground, and without the money to afford more potions, her family was left with few options. So they moved to Gridania, praying that they’d be fortunate enough to find a healer kind enough to help Lavender while her parents got back on her feet. It nearly didn’t happen, and being exposed to new air and new people made Lavender very sick. It wasn’t until she herself had caught pneumonia that a healer agreed to help her. She was a wild looking old woman, the type children would be afraid of on a good day. But Lavender remembers her more fondly than most people in her life, because not only did V’shalla save her life, she gave her the means to be in control of it by taking her on as a student. Lavender was not a quick learner, as magic did not come easily to her. But she was diligent. If she could learn to use magic to keep herself healthy, she could do all the things she always dreamed of. While it may have taken years for Lavender to get as healthy as she liked, especially since staying healthy required constant work, she blossomed under V’shalla’s guide. The woman had no fear of handling messy injuries, giving Lavender more than ample opportunity to watch her bend bones and save people from the brink of death. She couldn’t help but marvel at her mentor, and Lavender wished to grow up to be just like her.
Then Dalamund fell out of the sky, unleashed Bahamut, and the world seemed about to end. V’shalla fought alongside the Maelstrom, not the Adders, for she had been with the Maelstrom in her younger years, and simply retired to Gridania for a more “peaceful” life. But when the call came to protect the realm, she returned, fully intent on giving her life to save those she could. Before she left for the fight, she traded her conjurer’s cane for Lavender’s, promising that she’d always be with her, even if she didn’t return. She didn’t. Like so many others, Lavender took the news hard, and was unable to properly cope with the loss of her mentor and hero. She moved to Limsa in search of old friends V’shalla had mentioned, some roegadyn and an elezen who had turned from pirates to Maelstrom. What Lavender found was two very upset siblings, who had sworn the same kind of revenge she had. Add that a few dozen other people out for Garlean blood, and the pirate crew of the Drunken Siren was born. Maetiwyb and Laubrent (who were half siblings, born only a few months apart) headed the crew, intent on ravaging Garlean ships as much as they could. And that they did, with much success. Everyone on the ship was still hurting from the loss of loved ones in the Calamity, but Lavender was one of the ones who had the hardest time letting go. She lost her focus on keeping herself and others healthy, wanting nothing more than to make the Garleans hurt half as much as she did. She got sicker and sicker as time went on, having coughing fits as she was fighting on deck. Her lack of self-care left her weak and vulnerable, and a Garlean blade nearly ended its life before Laubrent and the other healer on deck, Elissa, saved her. It took a week of bedrest for her to recover and gain some of her strength back, with Elissa and Laubrent spending much of it by her side. The two of them helped her realize, then, that she was throwing her life away for her anger. Changing took time, so much time, but she was determined not to throw away the life V’shalla had given her. Being kissed a lot by two people really helped improve her mood, too. As weird as it is for her to say, becoming a pirate made her a better person. For three years, she learned how to vent her anger better, and to remember how to take care of herself again. She bonded with the rest of the crew, and began to view them all as some weird, smelly makeshift family.
But when two of her crewmates, Vela’to and Ulala, turned against them, things changed. The two of them had convinced the crew to fight the Garleans in their castrum near Wineport, with the bulk of the crew acting as a diversion for several of them to slip inside for a sneak attack—Lavender, Elissa, Maetiwyb, Laubrent, and Vela’to and Ulala themselves. From there, they split into two smaller groups, with Maetiwyb, Lavender and Vela’to in one, and Ulala with Elissa and Laubrent. However, before they made any serious progress into the castrum, both groups were discovered. As Lavender and Maetiwyb battled their opponents, Vela’to took Lavender out with miasma spells. Too distracted by trying to calm her breathing, she was helpless to stop him from stealing her cane. After finishing with the Garleans, Maetiwyb went to attack Vela’to for turning on them, and she wounded him enough to convince him to flee further into the base to join the Garleans. Unfortunately, it wasn’t before his egi had managed to take one of her eyes out. Ulala fared better, having nearly fatally wounded Elissa and injuring Laubrent before she managed to flee to join the bulk of the Garleans. When Lavender and Maetiwyb found them, Elissa was too far gone to save, especially with Lavender without her weapon. The Garleans had nearly cornered them while they were too focused on their dying friend, until the bulk of the crew arrived to help them retreat back to their ship. After being betrayed and losing their friend, the crew fell apart. Maetiwyb couldn’t stop blaming herself, it was her duty as captain to keep everyone alive. Laubrent and Lavender were too grief stricken about losing their lover, about being unable to protect her or heal her, that they drifted apart from each other. Eventually, Lavender packed her bags and moved back to Limsa. She stayed at whatever inn she needed to, selling her talents as a healer to make due. She met I’zumyn this way, and is forever thankful for that day, even if it was….a bit off a mess. When she ran out of money, she’d move back to Gridania for a while, taking up odd healing jobs there too. The best money for a healer was in Ul’dah, with there being no formal guild for healers, but she could never bring herself to go there. It reminded her too much of who she used to be, some poor little girl who was too ill to even know any of the city to remember it. While in Limsa, Lavender formally took up arcanism and then the scholarly arts, having learned a bit of it from Elissa. After losing her cane, she had no desire to buy a new one, and….She felt closer to Elissa, using her codex. Arcanima was easier for her to pick up than conjury, mostly because she had actual magical talent to start with this time.

Overall, I'm pretty chill as far as guidelines go. I don't have an extensive list of 'Do's or 'Don't's or things that I personally find triggering. So chances are, you won't offend me or make me uncomfortable unless you're trying to or just being really skeevy in general. Still, for the sake of making sure everyone's on the same page here, let me make a few mentions in particular:

DO NOT COPY ANYTHING FROM HERE DOWN AS IT IS NOT PART OF THE WIKI
CHANGING THE COLOR SCHEME
To change the color scheme of this wiki, copy the wiki code into a document. Using the find and replace feature, exchange each of these color keywords (i.e. ‘PRIMARY COLOR’, ‘SECONDARY COLOR’, etc.) with a six digit/letter hex code for the color of your choice (i.e. ‘FFFFFF’, ‘000000’, etc.). A good place to find hex codes is www.color-hex.com.
COLOR KEYWORDS:
PRIMARY COLOR: Changes the primary banner background color (i.e. personality, appearance, inventory, etc.)
SECONDARY COLOR: Changes the secondary banner background color (i.e. likes, dislikes, strengths, weaknesses, etc.)
LEGEND COLOR: Changes the color of the background for the character relationship legend, ‘list of family members’, and ‘list of non-family relations’.
HIGHLIGHT COLOR: Changes the color of highlighted text, such as the characters name under the ‘General Information’ banner.
RUMOR 1 COLOR: Changes the background color of the ‘Common Rumors’.
RUMOR 2 COLOR: Changes the background color of the ‘Uncommon Rumors’.
RUMOR 3 COLOR: Changes the background color of the ‘Rare Rumors’.
RUMOR 4 COLOR: Changes the background color of the ‘Player Character Rumors’.
EASIER TO READ RELATIONSHIP STATUS ICONS Since the code in the wiki itself can be kind of hard to read, here is a list of the code for the character relationship status icons for easier copy/paste ability.
ROMANTIC ATTRACTION (♥): ♥ PHYSICAL ATTRACTION(♥): ♥ PLATONIC LOVE (♥): ♥ BUSINESS ($): $ DECEASED (❖): ❖ POSITIVE (✔): ✔ NEGATIVE (✖): ✖ NEUTRAL (●): ● UNSURE (🔃): 🔃 TRUSTED (🔒): 🔒
RANDOM TIPS
Remember that when you are writing blocks of text and wish to break them into a new paragraph, use new
tags. Otherwise, the text will tender as one paragraph or break.
If you wish to create a new tab, all you have to do is add =TAB NAME=, followed by whatever code / text / information you want to put inside of that tab. Likewise, if you wish to remove a tab, remove the =TAB NAME= and the information below it until you get to the next =TAB NAME= that you wish to keep.
URLs work a little funky on wikis. The typical HTML <a href=’www.url.com’>Link Text</a> doesn’t work. To link to another character’s wiki page, type Character Name. To link to an external site, type www.url.com Link Text.
When your wiki is complete and no longer a WIP, you can remove the second line of code (
) from the wiki to remove the huge ‘PAGE IS MASSIVELY WIP!’ message.
