"You may call me, Mayon."

Mayon (Izanami) arrived in Eorzea lost and freezing in the winter embrace of Coerthas. A rune had manifested itself on her back, left shoulder, and, as she began to fade into Coerthas' icy grip, she called out to a power she had never tapped before. Wrapped in the clothing of a thaumaturge, she was found nearly dying by Cecieroux Ormesang as she had traveled for so long and from such a great distance and was soon joined by Draco Nobis and the others who heard her call to pull her to a place called Cliffperch in Thanalan.

Since her arrival, Mayon has studied with Ser Draco Nobis to learn swordsmanship as she struggles to be a useful part of her new family in Thanalan. Mayon has made several friends in Cliffperch but continues to feel herself inadequate to be a decent part of the group. As she learns more about the dangers that lurk in the lands she has called home, Mayon's resolve to become a force of destruction, greater than thaumaturgy could lend her, grows. Her fascination with dark aether and the greatsword that her father used to wield has drawn her into a frenzy of training. She is constantly setting herself lofty goals.

Mayon lays claim to being trained in divination but failing miserably. As a result she is rarely seen without a deck of divination cards that she was given as a child.

Although a fairly tall height for her race, Mayon has a realitvely small frame for her want to wield such a large sword. Her light skin shows a tinge of violet against her white scales. Mayon's eyes show a slight variation of color. The Au Ra has a lithe frame with a fair amount of muscle.

Izanami is the only daughter of the deceased warrior Yamagi Stormcaller and, his wife, the fortune teller Gyosei. Her only living relative is her uncle, a swordsman named Satori Stormcaller, who has since found his way to Eorzea. The name Stormcaller comes from Izanami's grandfather's flamboyant fighting style. Both Yamagi and Satori have set a standard of upholding the family name. Izanami aspires to be worthy of being a part of the Stormcaller line.

Combat

Izanami is working to perfect a technique combining both Thaumaturgy and the art of the dark blade. Believing that both arts are fueled through emotions and understanding that both require concentration and control, Izanami hopes to create a fighting art that is unique to herself.

Friends ✠ Dartanon Nobis – The man that has been teacher her how to use a sword. Draco has had a few choice words about the path she is taking with his tutelage. Izanami has a deep respect for the man. ❤ Brave Horizon – Like a sister to the wayward Au Ra. Mayon has not the words to express the how much Brave's council has meant to her. ❤ Leon Greymoon – Talking with him inspires Mayon to be the best she can be. He has a knack for raising her mood even from the depths of depression. Mayon looks up to Leon very much, although she worries for his safety since she knows him to be reckless. ● Reima Awen – A fellow student of Draco's and one of the nicest people that Mayon has ever met.
