Kyozan "Kyo" Kodakumi is a Bard of the Raen group of Au Ra. He hails from Doma, but currently resides in Eorzea after fleeing following the failed Doman Rebellion.

Personality

Kyo has a habit of not taking things seriously, and is often in trouble for his drunken antics. He used to be a soldier, and even back then he used to get in trouble for resisting authority. Kyo has a bit of a tendency to be a loose cannon, but that is only exaggerated when confronted and told to obey. He's a fun-loving person, a bit of a joker, but under all that he has a heart of gold. He'd do anything to protect his loved ones. Kyo is a bit of a charmer, using his silver tongue to talk himself out of bad situations, many of which arise from his profession as a monster hunter. Kyo does not act much differently when drunk, perhaps only a little more confident and a little less sensible than his sober self.

Weapons

₪ Hakane: This bow is something that was given to Kyo by his father, Akagi, when he left to fight in the Doman Rebellion. It was crafted from the wood of the enormous oak that sat in the centre of their village, which was looked after and cared for by everyone that lived there. It was given to Kyo to wield so that he could fight with the whole village behind him in spirit against Garlemald. He keeps it now in memory of the people of Hakane, so that even in spite of their terrible fate, they may never be forgotten. Kyo has since made certain adjustments to the bow in order to improve on its ability, but the same wooden core remains.

₪ Kyo's Arrows: Special arrows fashioned by Kyo to be efficient at shredding through tough shells and exoskeletons when hunting. Handy to have around, since they also pierce through armor with ease. Great for Garleans.

₪ Throwing Knives: A simple triplet of throwing knives, used for when Kyo is unable to use his bow.

₪ Hunter's Boots: Kyo has special boots he bought for hunts that are armoured , allowing him to add extra threat to the powerful kick-based melee fighting he has practiced throughout the years to compliment his ranged combat ability.

None as of yet. Kyo seems to lack the ability to wield Aether in the way that many of his comrades do.

Akagi & Kasumi Kodakumi (Parents, Deceased) (Au Ra, Raen)

Kyo had a great childhood, and his parents did all they could to ensure he and his brother were happy. His father wasn't around a lot due to his leadership of the clan, but Kyo looked up to him as a hero. His mother was a kind, compassionate woman who loved her children dearly. They both perished in a fire that burned Hakane to the ground during the Doman Rebellion.

Yura Kodakumi (Sister, Deceased) (Au Ra, Raen)

The most elegant, beautiful lady in all the Easter Mountains, Yura was due to be married off to the future leader of another clan to make connections for the tribe. She ran away several times to avoid this fate, but upon her last return to Hakane she was caught in the fires set by the Garleans, wiping her and her parents out.

Takuma Ametsuchi (Boyfriend) (Au Ra, Raen/Xaela Mix)

Kyo and Takuma were both encountered separately by the 81st on a mission to rid Urth's Fount of voidsent. They both chose to enlist, and after fighting side-by-side together several times investigating a ring of slavers kidnapping Domans, they realised there was a lot they had in common, notably their troubled pasts in Doma. One thing led to another, and after a period of sneaking around seeing each other, debating whether or not it was feasible for them to be together with their professions, they eventually entered into a relationship. Kyo is very fond of Tak, and loves that he's smart, sensible, and understands him in a way most don't. Whether on a romantic day out or in the heat of combat, there's nothing Kyo wouldn't do to keep his partner safe and well.

Onuma Ahntifi (Superior Officer) (Miqo'te, Keeper of the Moon)

Onuma was the one leading the mission that Kyo encountered the 81st on, and after a shaky introduction involving Kyo pointing his bow at her face, they fought together to save the Twin Adders from the voidsent in Urth's Fount. After being called back to their headquarters and questioned by Onuma about the events that lead him to the voidsent, they had a brief discussion about the pain of loosing family. Kyo then decided to enlist, and since then Onuma has always been the one he's listened to and taken orders from without question. More recently, during the ascent of Sohm Al, Kyo came to realise Onuma is just as stubborn as he is, and he almost insisted on carrying her up the mountain when she wore herself out.

Keaira Twinning (Superior Officer) (Hyur, Midlander)

Twinning was also leading the 81st on their mission to Urth's Fount, where Kyo dispatched voidsent alongside the 81st's forces. From that point onwards, Kyo seemed to get on her bad side on every mission they went on. Whether it wad his drinking, his foul language, or his attitude, something always got him in trouble with her. She has, of late, shown concern over his temper and alcoholism, but Kyo has given her his word that he will act appropriately on FC business.

Tomoe Aoyama (Company Member) (Au Ra, Raen)

Tomoe, or 'Doc' as Kyo refers to her, is a very hard person for him to figure out. They antagonise each other often, but Kyo feels pretty confident that in the thick of battle, they'd be able to work together. Kyo prepares himself mentally for all manner of insults when partying up with her, mostly about his suffering liver.
