General Information
Glioca Sargonnai is a Wildwood Elezen who originally hails from the Black Shroud, but who has traveled across much of the world. She has held a number of occupations in her considerably long life, and current resides in Ul'dahn territory in the Goblet, where she and her husband run the Rising Phoenix Free Company, a modest mercenary group for hire. Aside from her position as leader of the company, she is the business mind and often the labor behind Black Phoenix Oddities, the shop which is the front for their company, and their off-again on-again primary source of income. When not serving in either of these two capacities, she spends much of her time training her mental and physical attributes, expanding her knowledge base, and teaching those who come to her for the various subjects she's knowledgeable in.
Regret is something I know well. Take care not to cling to it, to hold it so close that it poisons your soul.

Ethereal, confident. Ambidextrous, right-handed preference when writing. One major scar (face), many minor (body). Two tattoos, four piercings. Mixed: leather, cloth & plate.
Hair & Eyes
Her hair has carried a variety of styles and shades over the years, having started out her life with platinum blonde hair that lightened to white over the years of her youth, but has in recent times darkened to the color of ink, with only scarce streaks of the pale color beneath visible amid her midnight black hair. She wears it to just about her shoulders, sweeping forward to frame her face gently, giving her as close to a distinguished appearance as one might find her in. She doesn't bother binding it up, and expressions of frustration will find long fingers tangling in her hair and tugging. Her eyes are a steely shade of silver naturally, though when she was younger she wore thin alchemical lenses of differing colors, either as part of a disguise or costume she wore, or simply for variety because her own eyes had so little color. As she's aged, she's ceased this practice for the most part, unless needed for infiltration of somewhere.
Physique & Markings
Standing at six fulms and five ilms, Glioca is tall for a woman, even an Elezen, and is a scant two ilms shorter than her husband, A'rklonn. Physically she's stockier than most Elezen, with a heft to her body that is a mixture of curve and muscle, the former much more apparent at first glance than the latter. She's grown more slender over the years, though her weight maintains because of the physical regimen she follows, easily half again as heavy as most women of her height and size. Facially she appears mature, but not old, looking to be in her late twenties to early thirties. This youthful appearance is somewhat superficial, as the woman has easily seen more than the usual years of an Elezen of age, a lifespan is attributed to the unique aetheric condition that affects her, some damn fine alchemical work, and the ability commonly known as the Echo. She bears a single scar on her face, stretching up over her left eye and ending in the middle of her cheek. She has numerous smaller scars across her body, representing a life full of accidents, conflict, and the little things that leave their marks on us.
Hygiene & Attire
While she won't hesitate to get dirty, and even bloody, she prefers being clean a majority of the time. She carries a strong scent of evergreen and roses around her, beneath the smell of whatever other plant or alchemical mixture she happens to have been working with most recently. She does her best to wear clothing that is in excellent shape, but her attire is as varied as anything else about her might be. When in combat with a sword she prefers heavy plate, when utilizing her martial arts she prefers flexible leather armor that doesn't inhibit her movements, and when working spells she prefers robing with pockets and pouches to carry all of the components and other miscellaneous items she might need during the course of her work.
Worn Items of Note
Rimless glasses in silver.
A simple silver band with an ornate multicolored gem, her bond ring.
A silver charm bracelet; moonstone & clear crystal charms.
A single stud piercing through her tongue, made of highly polished gemstone.

Psychological Profile
Intelligent. Cynical. Playful. Predatory. All of these words have been used to describe Glioca at one point or another. In her youth she was a very quiet and studious intellectual who mostly kept to herself, the primary company in her life her father, aunt and the voices of the Elementals. Time and life experience has changed her into a woman with much more serious outlook on life. She's open-minded and eager to learn anything and everything she can about the world around her; whether that involve people, magic, or combat. Many who interact with her find a kind of subtle melancholy seems to hang around her like a shroud, likely the result of a long life of leaving those she loves behind.

A lifetime littered with loss and sorrow has changed what was once an sweet and somewhat innocent girl into a worldly woman who flits from interest to interest, pursuit to pursuit in a very fey-like fashion. When it comes to her family she is a very dedicated and affectionate individual, but also very protective and sheltering of her loved ones. It takes a lot to rouse her to action on something, but when she gets going she's a very hot-blooded woman with a cynical and sarcastic streak a mile long who is just as likely to start a brawl as she is cut someone down with her words. She doesn't shy from conflict, and while many might find her charming, she considers herself quite average.

She has a deep wanderlust that causes her to spend a great deal of her time either traveling across Eorzea whenever she has the time to spare: the wide roads of the Goblet, the deep paths of the Shroud, the cluttered streets of Ishgard, or the wide open spaces of Dravania are all places where she might be found. Regardless of her desire to wander, she's very faithful and loyal to those she comes to care for, and would drop nearly everything to come to the aid of someone she'd grown close to.

But some things never change: she'll always be a healer at heart no matter how many blades she picks up, she's still got a sharp mind, a charming manner when so inclined, and easily able to keep pace in intelligent conversation. She's got a good business sense, but a greater mind for magic and combat, and almost bottomless potential when it comes to learning and taking in information. The one truly consistent side of her is her personal set of values, which she holds to be a kind of law in her life. It's not that hard to glean when one interacts with her. She's not a hero by any stretch of the imagination, not does she consider herself a villain, but if push comes to shove, she's more than willing to prove that she can be either as the situation calls for it.
Voice
Smoky, warm and lilting, Glioca's voice is exactly what one might expect from an older woman, with the mannerisms to match. She speaks with a very even tone, rarely raising her voice even when angry, or highly emotional. Her accent is difficult to place, a cultured voice with a mostly indiscernible mixture of tones and words gained from her years of travel across the world. When incredibly upset, her voice comes across with a thick brogue, one that makes her much more difficult to understand. Her singing voice is similarly husky, the kind of rich sound that makes one think of quiet bars with piano music flowing, or mothers cradling their infants and singing them to sleep in low tones.
Philosophy & Mannerisms
Glioca has strong opinions and views, and her philosophical outlook tends to be just as strongly opinionated. As a woman who lives an open and relatively free lifestyle with her husband, she understands that free will and choice are extremely important in life, but just as important is maintaining that free will for others. As such, she does her best not to shove her attentions, affections, or interest on an individual who is unresponsive to her in any way.

Her age has given her a unique perspective on life and the way many people live it. Many consider themselves good or evil, but she knows that life can't be quantified down into black or white, good or evil, and instead is fleshed out and flourishes only when the many shades of grey that lie between the darkness and light, between the two absolutes, is explored.

When it comes to mannerisms, Glioca has a few consistent traits to her. She's incredibly loyal when someone gains her trust. She does her level best not to make any promise she doesn't feel she can keep, even if that promise happens to sound rather outlandish at the time. She won't hesitate to teach anyone else who asks after her about any of the knowledge she's gained over the years. And she'd give up absolutely anything to protect her family, even her own life.

Non-Combat Abilities
Aetheric Cycle: Glioca's body is under a constant aetheric cycle. This cycle means that she regenerates and heals at a much faster rate than most other individuals. This also prevents her from aging in any normal fashion beyond what would be considered her physical ‘peak’ condition, as her cells continually rejuvenate themselves. She can be scarred if a wound is inflicted with particularly nasty magical means, or if the wound is very deep. Her regeneration is limited, however, and can only do so much to stave off death. If she's under extreme duress, or focusing her aether in other ways such as spellcasting, or channeling during physical combat, this regeneration is suspended to a degree. She won't heal until after her aether usage goes back to a minimal level.
Aetheric Capacity: Those who have a strong aether sense may be able to detect the abundance in Glioca. Her aether flows through her body at a fairly exponential rate, or did, until recent times when her husband helped her create a stop-gap measure that's used to control the flow of her aether. She still gives off a feeling of strong aether around her, aspected such that it actually makes her skin feel slightly cooler than normal to the touch.
Aetheric Channeling: When it comes to channeling aether, she has an easier time than some do, because of the way it's a constant in her body, instead of shifting and flowing as it usually should. Interestingly enough, Glioca doesn't have an endless pool of aetheric power to draw from when using magic, as it's a different direction than her aether usually takes. The aether required to fuel her body and regenerate is a rather large amount, and this limits the amount she can devote to her spell casting. Her pool would be considered large in comparison to some, but decidedly not limitless.
Echo: The Echo is an ability that some rare individuals possess. Those that have been 'gifted' have the ability to resonate with other people's souls. This permits them to see their past, albeit not able to interfere or change it, as well as being able to speak every language in the world. As a side effect, the Echo also seems to prevent it's user from being tempered by the Primals. Interestingly, Glioca's Echo came to light some 15 years ago. This led to a lot of misunderstandings, headaches, and a worsening of her aetheric condition for a number of years. Her husband assisted her with the use, and she can now willingly keep herself out of the memories of others. When the Calamity came, she, like many others, began getting the visions of meteors falling from a burning sky. It is thought that the Echo is in part responsible for the changes that later occurred to her. Disclaimer: This power is never used without explicit player permission in role-play. ***
Eidetic Memory: Eidetic memory is the ability to recall visual information, such as pages from books and other visual sources, in great detail after only brief exposure to it. In Glioca, this trait developed in early childhood, and was nurtured by her parents and grandparents to allow her to more readily retain information from whatever source she might learn from. The ability was nurtured very early on, and is one of the reasons that Glioca is multi-talented, especially in the field of magic, where much of her study into Thaumaturgy and Arcanima relied on her ability to first memorize theory and calculations, and opposed to the expression strictly of aether itself, as with Conjury. Further, Glioca has a secondary trait that rarely presents itself in those with Eidetic Memory, and that is that she is Photo-reflexive. She often uses these two abilities in conjunction to attempt to learn as much as possible as quickly as possible, though she is sometimes (often) hampered by her own bodies abilities, and the aetheric condition which she is under.
Scientific Knowledge: She has extensive knowledge of the workings of the humanoid body, and has studied anatomy on all of the Eorzean races, albeit one of them not in the last hundred or so years (Au Ra). She has scientific knowledge that has been bolstered by the study and research of Allag technologies, and as such is capable of utilizing things like cloning techniques and genetic splicing. Most of her scientific knowledge is medical in nature, and like most other things she does, she uses this to further her healing, enabling her to solve common problems that would otherwise stop many healers from aiding the sick. This knowledge also causes her great frustration when dealing with less learned healers who think that simple diseases with easy treatments are a death sentence for their patients.
Combat Abilities
Aetherfist: The only 'job' that Glioca is considered as having openly, the Aetherfist is a work-in-progress that is a flawless fusion of magic and martial arts into a combative fighting style that allows her to utilize powerful spells and channel them through her hands for explosive effect when she strikes. The Aetherfist is still being developed, and she's working on a prototype soulstone, but there's no telling if or when this project will ever be finished. The magic utilized often appears to be pre-Calamity conjury, with some thaumaturgy mixed in. Status effecting spells aren't typically able to be channeled in the way that Aetherfists cast and utilize their spells, but again, she's working on it.
Boosted Physique: Glioca’s skill with conjury is such that she has learned to utilize the magic in a way that many wouldn’t expect, reinforcing her body in such a way that her physique is incredibly boosted, an act that has provided her with increased endurance and somewhat increased agility. Additionally, it has greatly increased her strength, resulting in permitting her to make pinpoint strikes that are capable of crippling in one punch, or in the case of many inanimate objects, blowing holes in, or through them. She can punch through weaker steel plating and some armor, but only with extra boosting from her gates, now that her abilities are locked behind limiters. The downside is that she no longer suffers under the monstrous strength she used to. The bright side is that she no longer suffers under the monstrous strength she used to.
Magical Prowess: A conjurer since her youth, she is quite capable with the manipulation of aether. As such, conjury is her strongest magic. Because her conjury predates the Calamity, she is capable of using spells that were later practiced more heavily in thaumaturgy, resulting in a mixed magic style that seems to allow her to draw from many different schools and types of magic. She has training in arcanima, some minor training in astromancy, and knows a little bit of bardic magic. She is trained in thaumaturgy, but like her conjury, the form she practices predates the changes that came after the Calamity. She is actually incapable of utilizing strong fire magic because of her attunement to the ice element. Coupled with her aetheric imbalance, she is always considered to be in a state of umbral ice. She is striving to formulate a unified magic theory that breaks the divisions between the different types of spellcasting into a type of multi-casting or hybridized casting, which is still a working theory, though she has made a little headway into the style.
Ice Resistance: Her strong attunement to ice and water magic have made it so that not only is she in a constant state of umbral ice, but she is highly resistant to frost and ice-based attacks. These attacks do a minimal amount of damage to her, and further, she is relatively unaffected by the cold.
Martial Arts: Having begun training in her late youth, Glioca has been fighting since she was approximately 26 years old. During her travels across the world, she picked up a number of different martial arts styles, though a few still prominently feature in her common combat style which is a mixture of overwhelming power, strong defensive techniques, and battlefield control. Her years of honed skills coupled with her physical reinforcement, photo-reflexivity and enhanced reflexes have turned her into a devastating fighter. More recently, she has begun training with a Fist of Rhalgr, learning Ala Mhigan martial techniques as well as picking up techniques more recently from the Pugilists Guild in her spare time, usually by watching the other fighters during their bouts. Her martial arts techniques are unique in that while channeling aether during them is the only time she can easily utilize fire, as her ice doesn’t seem to translate the same way when used as part of a martial style.
Jūken: Referred to as ‘Gentle Fist’, this fighting style utilizes circular techniques and movement patterns to allow the martial artist a wider range of motion and full use of momentum to control the flow of the fight. It utilizes various strikes (with palm, fist, elbow, fingers, etc), kicks, joint locks, throws, and distinctly evasive circular footwork. Many of these techniques cause internal damage and do not require a large amount of force to be exerted to deliver them, hence the reason the martial art style is called ‘Gentle’. It was also necessary at the time of her teaching for Glioca to utilize great care when fighting anyone as she had limited control over her strength. Though this is no longer the case, she continues to utilize this style the most heavily of all of them that she uses. (This fighting style is based largely on Baguazhang.)
Piercing Palm: One of the most dangerous abilities of Jūken is that coupled with her knowledge of anatomy and the internal workings of the body, she is able to reinforces her strikes with her own aether to use them to counteract a casters ability to channel aether, either from outside, or through their body. This effectively cuts mages off at the knees, and in someone else who utilizes chakra or chi, such as a monk, or a practitioner of ninjutsu, it cuts off their ability to channel these skills as well.
Tenchi Jouge: Also called the ‘Stance of Overpowering Annihilation’, it is a highly offensive combat stance, one which lends itself to the secondary style which Glioca uses, typically when in a truly lethal battle with a strong opponent. If she cannot successfully disable an opponent either with spells or if an opponent is so dangerous that she knows death is the only way to stop them, she will switch into this stance for the duration of combat, either until her opponent is on the ground, or she is.
Photo-reflexivity: Photo-reflexiveness is the pinnacle of the rare genetic trait found in those with an eidetic memory. The ability to become physically attuned to the movements of others simply by witnessing them, gaining their expertise and experience through mere moments or less depending on how comfortable one is with their trait. Once seen or heard, the user is now permanently filled with the knowledge, and their body adapts to be able to perform it to the best of its ability. Training is required for the body to meet the challenges presented by the knowledge taken in, and obviously, some things can’t be mimicked based on the limitations of the body. This ability also functions as highly accelerated learning, as the user can do whatever they wish with their new knowledge - even building upon what they've witnessed, not limited to simply mirroring what has been observed. The limitation, of course, is provided that the user's body can actually physically perform the movements it is now educated in doing. Witnessing someone running at extreme speeds does not make them just as speedy... nor does witnessing someone juggle cinderblocks mean that they can even lift one. While this means she wouldn’t be able to mimic a quadruped’s combat movement, for example, she will memorize it and if reasonably skilled in that area - might draw inspiration using it as a basis. This also extends to audial perceptions as well, giving her the ability to perfectly mimic sounds and voices to the best of her physical capability.
Technological Prowess: Among the things that Glioca has studied during her long life, Garlean and Allagan technology are in the forefront, though this aptitude has only been honed most prominently during the last 30 years or so of her life. She is capable of reverse-engineering different technological devices, though much to the frustration of those around her, many of her technological developments have been used solely for defense, and any application she can use that will permit her to greatly enhance her healing capabilities. She has developed a few weaponry systems, mostly minor. Primarily, she tinkers and dissects, using the technology to expand her library and find a way to create workable and easily utilized devices that improve the quality of life for those who have suffered some body failure.
Dual Ranged Shot Gauntlets (DRSG’s): Built out of a desire to be never without a failsafe for those times when her aether is limited or she is unable to get across a battlefield to an opponent, Glioca developed a gauntlet that permits a free range of motion while utilizing her martial arts, while simultaneously containing a powerful firearm, boosting her utility. These collapse down into bracelets for day-to-day wear when not in their gauntlet form, and are powered by magazines of magitek rounds. Each magazine consists of 12 shells, giving 24 shots in total when both gauntlets are fully loaded. These rounds don’t traditionally pierce, but instead explode upon impact.
Tiny Angry Magitek Reaper: The guardian of the Black Phoenix Oddities shop, this is a miniature Magitek Reaper replica which contains several magitek rounds, each of which will explode on contact, causing considerable damage to anyone who is seen as ‘intruding’ in the shop. Theft will technically also trigger this defense mechanism. He is tiny, and he is angry.
Weapon Proficiencies: Necessity has dictated that Glioca grow proficient with several weapons. Included among these are Long-swords, Short-swords, Great-swords, Daggers, Axes, Lances, Staves and Pole-arms. Glioca is fairly much incapable of using Bows, and given her DRSG’s, is quite capable with firearms. In a twisted sort of irony, she considers utilizing swords to be a handicap for her, as she is much more capable when utilizing bare-handed martial arts styles. As such, when fighting an opponent she doesn’t want to kill, she uses swords rather than martial styles. She is capable of using hora and other pugilist weaponry, but prefers not to, as they interfere with the fine control needed for her piercing palm techniques.
OOC Note
When it comes to unavoidable combat RP, I'm willing to go with either Dice, or Freeform, depending on what's decided on by those of us fighting. That said, I prefer freeform, and use what is referred to as an "interrupt" style of RP combat, in that when an action is performed, a description of the effects it would have is included. It is then up to the other individual to defend against the action and/or mitigate the effects as they're described. Don't hesitate to send a /t if you have questions, or are uncertain about a specific action performed in a battle.

Business, Artistry & Tradeskills

Glioca-Shop-Banner.png
Business
Glioca and her husband A'rklonn started a small business out of the front of their home in the Goblet, where they might ask for gil, or for rather unique forms of payment, depending on the good purchased. Black Phoenix Oddities is not the only work that the pair do, however, and Glioca is currently the head of the Rising Phoenix Free Company, a mercenary guild that operates out of Ul'dah, but technically under the banner of the Maelstrom. They work collectively within all four major city-states (Gridania, Limsa Lominsa, Ul'dah and Ishgard), and have appropriate permissions and paperwork required for each group. This gives their collective company a sense of autonomy within city-state boundaries, as they can technically operate just above the law, so long as they cooperate with each city's primary source of law enforcement. She also holds a commissioned officer position within the Maelstrom itself.
Black Phoenix Oddities
Goods... Glioca offers a number of unique products, primarily of her own design, at the shop. These can include things like makeup and cosmetics, but more commonly range to things like philters, draughts, and elixirs. She also sells confectionery treats, plush creations, and a variety of other things, but the real pride of the shop is their other range of more unique items, tomes, and other miscellany goods. Glioca keeps a trove of commonly created potions and requested items, both infused with aether, and not, readily available for purchase.

Services... While much of what is seen on the shelves of the store are all that's offered, the duo are capable of obtaining a great number of things, and their skill with artistry means they're capable of creating unique items that an individual might need. Everything from jewelry to rare texts and even discreetly obtained Allag items. Much of what they create in this way is obtained by commission, usually for those that the pair find interesting. The most interesting thing that they offer, outside of the shop, is a service that's in high demand, but low supply: revenge. The pair will take revenge for those who are unable, for a certain price, regardless of the fashion of revenge that is requested, usually delivering equal suffering upon an individual, however, the exact terms is dependent on their client. This type of service is offered on a person by person basis, and is contingent on the OOC approval of all parties involved (the asker, and the intended target).

Contact... Feel free to approach me for RP relating to Black Phoenix Oddities or to NPC / handwave the more common purchases, whichever is more convenient for you. If you choose the NPC / handwave route, note that the (NPC) employee overseeing most day-to-day business affairs, consults, and sales in the boutique is a Wildwood Elezen woman by the name of Melisine Sorel.
Other
Rising Phoenix... The Free Company currently operates in a very extensive base in the Goblet in Ul'dah. With discreet builders who were paid well, they carved a larger base into the mountain beside their home. They have the ability to self-sustain for an extended period of several months if under seige, and have a number of workshops and laboratories under the stone of Thanalan. This information however, is a very closely guarded secret, and none within the company would divulge said secret. The workers wouldn't be likely to do so either.

Services... The mercenary company will take on any number of different jobs, from finding rare components, escort and bodyguard services, and though discreetly done, the very nasty business of assassination, if so requested. The members have a range of skills, and are willing to undertake any number of jobs upon request. Payment is always expected in advance for certain jobs, but the group will rarely turn down a job. They will not, however, meddle in local government politics, and have a strict policy against doing anything that would upset the very delicate balance in the City-States, as it would be considered bad business all the way around.

Contact... To contact anyone in the Free Company for a job, it is suggested to go through Glioca or A'rklonn Sargonnai, as they are the ones who openly charge the mercenaries in the company with their tasks. Similarly, if an individual was interested in joining, Glioca Sargonnai would be the one to contact.
Artistry
Her long life and certain life choices have given her a more practical eye for the things one might create and the craftsmanship, attention to detail, and quality that one might place upon their work. Rather than perfecting every combat skill, Glioca instead opted to pursue and perfect her skills in regards to the creation of items. She considers her strongest points to be botany or gardening, alchemy and cooking, but neglected no other craft in favor of another, instead preferring to dedicate herself to each one equally. In Eorzea, she sought out membership with each guild in order to maintain her level of capability, and indeed, improve upon techniques drawn from other places. She is a rather inventive person when she wants to be, and has created all manner of goods, including some rather interesting bedroom aids made by utilizing all of her skills. While unorthodox, she considers them a point of pride, as they stretch the limits of her skills.
Alchemical Cooking
Glioca has the most experience with cooking. She tends to cook with an elegant flourish, and favors candies and cakes, but she can make just about anything, ranging from traditional Eorzean dishes to the more unique cuisine of Othard, and indeed, lands far beyond. But take away her fancy pots and pans, and she's just as happy cooking over an open fire with a simple metal pot and fresh spices. She's more of a personal fondness for savory rather than sweet, and sells a number of her wares at Black Phoenix Oddities, the store she runs with A'rklonn. She did undergo training at the Bismark, to learn how to appropriately and adequately prepare traditional Eorzean cuisine as cooking can often change over the years, and she spent a great deal of time out of Aldenard. Her specialties are small chocolate candies, filled with cream and fruit, a sort of cordial cherry type dish, which she makes with a number of both sweet and sour fruits. This has more recently expanded to include Ishgardian cuisine as she spends more time in the area, and even some rare Dravanian style dishes, when she can locate appropriate sources for the information.

To go along with her skill at cooking, Glioca spends a great deal of time pushing the envelope with recipes in Alchemy that would probably make people raise an eyebrow, blink, or do a little bit of both. She experiments, creating things like poison and "love potions" with equal ease. She crafts natural and magically based philters, draughts, and elixirs, all of which she offers for purchase. She also creates experimental potions and drafts, including ones that are used for transmutation of an object into another substance, and more notably, a potion which, taken daily, helps prevent conception. One of the ways that she utilizes her alchemical cooking is in taking the sting, as it were, out of some of the more nasty tasting potions. She has also used these methods to make unique treats, such as delicate spun chocolate creations, and frozen sweet cream made into tiny dots of flavor which melt together to become a rather delicious whole.

Probably Glioca's greatest hobby, the cultivation of plants and new subspecies of flora is one of the things that the woman prides herself on. Through careful study and experimentation, she has begun growing plants that are often not found in Eorzea proper, typically for personal use and never shared with others except in the form of an ingredient used in one of her many concoctions or tinctures, or as part of an herbal tea. She keeps a number of small gardens at her home in the Goblet, and when she isn't reading or training, she can be found speaking to and tending these plants in the underground complex of her Free Company home.

A very casual fisher, Glioca's favorite spot in somewhere deep in the Twelveswood, nothing but a lot of quiet around her, and her fishing pole in hand, watching the water. She could easily spend hours this way, but sadly, doesn't get to fish as much as she'd like. She doesn't trophy fish, however, instead preferring that anything she catch be used for a meal, for alchemy, or some other craft. This usually results in her only spending sporadic bursts fishing, depending on what she is creating and what that thing requires.

Pounding on a sheet of metal is easy when you've got a lot of strength, and that's definitely something that Glioca has in spades. She maintains all of her own armor; a suit of silver half-mail created with a mixture of weaving, smithing, metallurgy, alchemy, goldsmithing and leatherworking. This unique combination allowed her to create an alloyed metal that is light as leather and flexible like cloth, while still affording her the protection of a full suit of armor. This gives her the flexibility to utilize her unique combat styles, as well as the necessary protection to still take the brunt of the damage she does. She rarely takes on commissions for others, as she doesn't feel her armorsmithing to be one of her best skills on it's own, but she does, as with everything else, try her hand at furniture that utilizes the strong plates, rings, rivets and other components that armorsmithing is well known for.

She has a fair hand at blacksmithing, with long hours spent in study to make the most of her skill with the craft. She utilizes her knowledge of magic to carve runes and symbols along the weapons she creates, allowing them to be used, with some infusion of crystal somewhere into the weaponry, to be used as a magic focus. This is part of her experimentation in cross-combination magic, and she uses her sword as a singular focus when casting just about anything. She utilizes blacksmithing in conjunction with her carpentry to create weapons that are both elegant and functional, enjoying the decorations she can add that makes each individual item she crafts unique. She's not a bad hand with anything else you could make with the smithing craft, and utilizes it to create the small components she uses in her magitek work, as well. She's currently working on a gunblade based on a Garlean prototype. This project is still in the works.

Goldsmithing requires a finer hand and touch that while Glioca has it, she prefers mixing metals into unique alloys for the craft more than she does crafting the actual pieces of jewelry themselves. That said, she can make a ring as intricate as anything one might have seen - but she'll probably never call it her favorite craft. She's much more fond of using her skill to make links and rings for armorsmithing work. As far as gathering metal, she tends to leave that to her husband, though she can mine, and does mine when the situation calls for it. Regardless, she prefers to leave the largest orders of heavy metals to him, as he has a greater talent with finding the best nodes to tap. Otherwise, she prefers to go through Amajina & Sons Mining Company.
Practical Skills
Her skill with botany has given Glioca a good eye for what types of wood would be best with what project. Her time in Othard helped in sparking her interest, as she spent a good deal of time working with her hands. She could build a house for someone, given time and materials, starting with the frame, and ending with the furniture. She enjoys the craft of working a log or piece of timber into a work of art, whether that's a decorative carving, or a weapon to be used by an archer or lancer. She tends all of her own needs in terms of weaponry, using her skill at carpentry to supplement and augment her skill at blacksmithing where necessary.

Nothing nurtures weaving quite like the need to make clothing for day to day use. Glioca's specialization in weaving comes not from an intricate pattern or decorative clothing, but from her skill at crafting practical things - pillows, and most especially plush dolls. She's made a number of plush dolls over the years, including a dancing cactaur ballerina powered by a special wind cluster. She put in her time at the weaver's guild, and can craft just about anything you want from her, but she finds the most joy in dolls and the other types of things she creates, rather than just clothing, intricate or not. She does enjoy weaving for the sake of it's own craft.

Glioca honed her leatherworking to accompany her weaving, knowing that working leather was a practical skill to nurture as the two often go hand in hand, especially when a piece requires both finely worked leather and well-woven cloth. Just as with weaving, she spent time working with Fen-Yll, learning patterns and practical knowledge. She's developed a few patterns on her own, mostly for styles of gloves that are easily used by combatants who want a lighter armor that allows the free use of magic.

History
Glioca is a very private individual, and while she is likely to explain bits and pieces of her history, no one individual should expect to get all of the details out of her until they're very close. Some details she'll share freely, such as her time spent in Othard years ago, her parents and lineage, and snippets of her life since she returned to Eorzea. All of the details here are expected to be kept OOC unless an individual is given the information by Glioca personally.
Disclaimer: Her history is currently being adjusted to make certain it fits within a certain timeline of events. This is taking some lore delving, and allowing for spacing for certain gaps that can later be filled in through RP, or alternatively, as lore about other areas of the XIV world are filled in given both her age and the amount of time spent traveling across Hydaelyn. Consider this section to be a constant Work In Progress.
Earliest Years
Childhood in Gridania
Glioca Sargonnai was born Meallaire Sarrasin, to Selaine Friont and Jeulerand Sarrasin, a Wildwood couple that made their home in the Black Shroud. She led what some would call an average childhood for the first few years, learning and studying under the tutelage of her parents and family. She spent time conversing with the Elementals and wildlife, and growing as most children do: quickly. When she was barely half a decade old, she lost her mother, Selaine, to a wasting sickness whose origin is still unknown. After the loss of her mother, Meallaire began focusing herself into Conjury, with the intention of making sure that should sickness ever to threaten to take her father from her, she would be able to heal him.

What should have been study to better herself and aid others instead became a form of obsession in the young woman, devoting all of herself to the study of conjury, how it affected the body, and more importantly, to the body itself, and how it could be advanced and manipulated with the healing magic. Despite her single-minded obsession with conjury as a way to save a life, she did learn how to heal not only the body, but the mind, and the world around her; her magic a way to support the growth of plants, rather than just people. While her studies never led her to find a way to cure the disease that afflicted her mother, it led her down other paths. She turned her focus of studies toward alchemy and arcanima, intending to blend the two magics, if at all possible, with the natural and unnatural components of alchemy, into a method to cure any disease.

Unfortunately, much as often happens when someone tries to blend two magics, she created a volatile reaction that left her with an overabundance of aether, turning her body into a conduit without a way to slow down the amount of aether that she generates and draws in, or to moderate the amount of aether she expelled when she used any kind of force. The result was a monstrous strength that was dangerous, both to her and to those around her. Her father, desperate to pull her mind from her quest into magic, and to find a way to help his daughter control her new-found strength, traveled from Gridania to Ul’dah, to seek assistance from the smiths and magi of the city, hoping that they might fashion an item to control the aether generated by her, and purpose it in a way that it would no longer make her own body beyond her control.

Though the journey took him at least a moon, her father returned with an armlet with a glowing symbol on the side, and a warning: that artifact was designed with great care, and should it ever be lost, a second would be impossible to create. The secrets lost with the fall of Sil'dih in their war with Ul'dah. For a brief time, she secluded herself away from all but her father and aunt, as she struggled to get her strength under control, her body slowly adjusting, and the very young woman herself adjusting to the changes necessary to reign herself in. Though she did eventually manage to get herself under control, she found that her strength was often overwhelming. Rather than others, however, she most often injured herself. And so began her delving into Conjury and earliest Arcanima to reinforce her physical form to handle the aetherical abundance that most often caused her injury as her body struggled to keep up with the power she bore.

While her tale should have grown happier at this point, getting herself under control and things going well, instead, her father was lost to a skirmish with forces unknown in the Twelveswood. Meallaire, not yet an adult, was assigned to her aunt Cirenelle as her charge. She fell into a deep depression that lasted until her nineteenth summer. No sooner had her nameday passed, before she packed up her meager belongings and what small fortune she and her father had amassed from the alchemical potions she had sold, and she departed Gridania, headed for Limsa Lominsa. She chose the first boat for parts unknown, and ended up across the sea, in Othard.

Striking Out
Becoming An Adult
Meallaire's arrival in Othard was fairly uneventful. The woman traded and bartered her services as an alchemist for a place to stay in a small village, eventually ending up using her strength to help provide for the village by tending to heavy work, her life of conjury and magic traded for the rough working of the land. As she had with conjury, she ended up devoting herself to the study of the local culture. Within a few short years, she’d grown fluent with the language and as familiar with the culture as if she’d been born to it. Her acceptance within the village was a turning point in her life, allowing her to put the pain of the loss of her parents behind her.

During this time, she met Cai Wararm, a Highlander with a zest for life that she enjoyed. He would become her first lover, her first love, and eventually, the father of her first child. Cai encouraged her to learn to fight during their time together, but she resisted, having had taken a vow to be a pacifist, swearing that she would never raise her hands in anger or combat due to her raw strength. She would later come to regret that vow. But the happiness she had found with Cai wasn't meant to last, and after barely two years with him, he was lost in a series of raids on the villages by a group of bandits. Less than three days after Cai's death, the child that would have been their son was stillborn. She named him Cailean, and buried the both of them, burning her home down as she left. For the second time in her life, started moving again, running to escape her past.

She traveled up and down the coast of Othard, eventually settling into a larger city, and this time, without any desire to really motivate her, she took up training as a courtesan. First working as a healer, curing sickness that might crop up in the girls, and then as a proper courtesan herself, training in everything from formal ceremony to physical companionship, music, art, culture, and everything in-between. She was taken in by an older woman by the name of Chiyo. Chiyo would become her sponsor and mentor, teaching her everything from the culture she desperately needed to know to survive, to martial arts best suited to take advantage of her monstrous strength. When the Hyurian woman passed away two years later, Meallaire was pained by her loss, but instead of running, as she had always done before, she remained, working her way through the 'ranks', as it were, until she was one of the highest paid courtesan in the Jade Lotus, the teahouse that had become her home.

Life is often funny, and it was working as a courtesan that she met one of the only other Elezen males she had seen frequent the house; a Wildwood going by the name of Vandor. She took him on as a client, but after a year of frequenting the Jade Lotus just to take the time to visit with her, she found herself being reluctantly courted by him. After a surprise visit by the man found her literally falling through a roof and onto his head, she decided to take the hint from the Spinner, and accepted his advances. She refused to stop working, however, and the two courted while she continued her occupation. Vandor could of course raise no objections given how they met, instead becoming her paid sponsor, giving her the greater freedom to pick and choose her clientele. This continued on for seven years, with Vandor asking for her hand every year on the same day. Finally, in the seventh year, Meallaire agreed. She finally stepped down from her position in the Lotus, and the two were wed according to Othardian customs. They spent the next thirty-two years moving all around Othard, until Meallaire became pregnant with their first son, Valistaux.

Traveling Othard
Travel and Experience
Meallaire and Vandor finally settled down after the birth of their first son, and the two lived in relative harmony with a local village, extending their protection to the village, while Meallaire trained with several locals in martial arts styles, and medicine. It was from them that she learned most of her non-conjury healing from, as well as anatomy, and other practical medicines and much of her alchemy. It was during this time that she began to perfect the alchemical formula that would extend the lifespan of herself, her husband, and her children.

During this same time she, Vandor, and a veritable cabal of other mages banded together to stop an 'Oni' who was traversing across the local countryside and terrorizing the people. This 'Oni' turned out to be a Voidsent, one that the collective bound. Meallaire was chosen as the individual to bind him to, as she was presently the youngest and longest lived of the group. He was thrust into an Elezen body, and bound there, and given the name Mikaelis. This would become her first servant, and ironically, over the years, one of her most trusted advisors.

When Valistaux was twelve years of age, Meallaire and Vandor took the boy on a trip along the coastline near their home, where they encountered a slaver ship, offloading their cargo. A duskwight girl caught their attention, and while the pair would have liked to have freed everyone on the ship that day, discretion was the better part of valor and they instead purchased the duskwight girl, whose name was Esirelle. The pair adopted the girl, with Valistaux gaining a playmate and a 'sibling', of sorts. She stepped in as Meallaire's assistant for a time, learning alchemy from the woman, and displaying some small measure of control over conjury.

The four had a fairly happy home life for a number of years, with Meallaire and Vandor selling a variety of services from their home, gathering funds in preparation for the future, and raising their two children. When the pair began to display greater affection for one another, no one was surprised, and when they both reached their twentieth summer, Meallaire and Vandor granted the pair permission to wed. As they weren't blood siblings, there was no taboo broken, and so the pair were wed happily to one another. For the next seventeen years, the four of them worked as a unit, taking care of things around their homeland, and working together to expand their skills and develop their talents. Not long after the thirty-seventh nameday of their son, Meallaire and Vandor decided it was, once again, time to travel.

From 1470 until 1532, Meallaire and Vandor, with Mikaelis in reluctant tow, traveled all across the world, experiencing new cultures, learning new magic, taking in knowledge, contributing what they could to whatever location they stayed in for any period of time, and generally enjoying their time and life together. Sometime in 1508, Meallaire gave birth to twin sons, Vaelenant and Aeldenoix. But all things must come to an end, and after the pair shared a startling vision of the future, they traversed back across the ocean, ending up in Eorzea, their original home.

Back to Eorzea
Home Again, Home Again
The return home brought with it a kind of bittersweet reunion, with Meallaire showing Vandor the graves of her parents, her childhood home, and the two seeking some resolve for the visions they had begun receiving. Taking back up the paths of conjury and alchemy, she began experimenting and working with manipulating the body, supplementing her work with arcanima. The pair settled into a steady life in Gridania, each of them offering their respective services to the City. Their lives progressed on a steady course until the Garleans began pushing at the boundaries of the Twelveswood. When the Adders put out a call for bodies, they answered the that call.

At the fields of Carteneau Flats, the Alliance met the Empire head-on, with Meallaire and Vandor on the front lines. When Dalamud fell, and the forces of the respective armies scattered, the duo did very much the same. They quit the field, and rather than returning home to Gridania, they traveled to Ul’dah, to rejoin their sons. They changed their names that day, Meallaire becoming Glioca, and Vandor becoming A’rklonn. They took his family name, of Sargonnai, and worked to make a life in the City-State.

With a flood of refugees in the wake of the Calamity, Glioca opened a small shop in Ul'dah, offering her services as a conjurer and barber-surgeon for those who had been injured by the disaster. While her services were appreciated by some, they were viewed with suspicion by others. Why would an Elezen conjurer lend her aid to those that the citizens of Ul'dah turned a blind eye to? After her clinic was ransacked by Brass Blades, Glioca was forced to shut her doors, and began traveling further and further from Ul'dah, she and A'rklonn settling in a small shack around the edges where the Twelveswood met Thanalan.

Not long after this, she took up swordplay with the Gladiator's guild in Ul'dah, utilizing what she'd learned in Othard and with her husband, fighting under the moniker 'The Silver Eclipse'. She often fought while masked, and donated any winnings she received to the refugees outside the gates, providing what food and medicine she could. A particularly nasty match left one man dead however, and Glioca ended up quitting the guild and laying down her arms and armor.

Following the death in the circle, and with ever-growing unrest in Ul'dah, Glioca, A'rklonn, and their third at the time, opted to move on to Gridania. While there, Glioca briefly sought out what remained of her family, getting back in touch with the last of her kin, their twin boys, now going by the names Vaelen and Aelden finally returning to the fold with a group with them. They also got back in touch with Anthya, who would become one of their adopted daughters. Committed to a course, the group never settled into Gridania proper, instead traveling around in the Twelveswood like nomads, until eventually ending up at the Oak Inn.

Since Character Creation
Moving Forward
With Ul’dah behind her, Glioca, A’rklonn and their third ended up, along with several other members of their family; Anthya, Siduris, Haelolin, Feallan, Alupia, and others, at the Oak Inn just outside Gridania. Glioca took great pains during this time to avoid her family home, though it would have simplified much for the lot of them. The group spent a little more than two months at the inn, before moving on, forming the Rising Phoenix Free Company, under the banner of the Malestrom. The group served as mercenaries for hire for whatever company so sought their services, but most importantly, this allowed Glioca and A’rklonn to establish the Phoenix Estate within Ul’dahn territory.

Not long after the founding of this home, the third individual in their relationship opted to split from them. The last time Glioca spoke to the woman was on the beaches in the Mists outside Limsa Lominsa. Long talks with her adoptive daughter Anthya more than a moon later and she learned that the miqo’te woman they had been so close to had been unfaithful. While this wasn’t surprising, it still stung, especially considering the lengths the woman would have had to go to in order to be ‘unfaithful’ in an open relationship.

The loss of the third in their relationship troubled Glioca deeply, and anger sent her right back into the life of a fighter, with the woman taking up a blade and going north, into Coerthas, on a job that should have been given to one of the other mercenaries in their company. What she got for her troubles was a lasting scar over her left eye, her anger making her careless enough to not dodge a swipe quite in time to spare herself any harm. Bleeding down her face and missing her glasses, Glioca engaged the Aevis until the fighting was interrupted by a young dragoon. With the creature slain and her face bleeding, Glioca thanked the Ishgardian, and made her way back to the edges of the Twelveswood, a new scar gained for her troubles.
Chance Meetings
Months passed without much happening but the tedium of everyday life. Days consisted of long hours baking or working on some unique alchemical concoction, and nights consisted of time spent with A’rklonn, talking to him about his research. When they announced that the doors were opening on the Manderville Gold Saucer, Glioca and A’rklonn took the opportunity to spend some time away from home, and step back out into the world amid people. A’rklonn had gone on ahead, with Glioca arriving sometime after, finding her husband in conversation with a young miqo’te by the name of Nai Ruahki, who’d been staring at the man’s back.

She joined her husband and the miqo’te at a table, until the woman’s partner joined them, a tall Duskwight by the name of Desant. Conversation lasted a bit of time longer, with the group talking of barber-surgeons and skills that should be cultivated in the world. The two departed, but not before Glioca had shared some of the unique candies she made at the store. The woman’s sweet tooth would turn her into a customer at their shop in the Goblet. With her, during her next visit, she brought a tall, dark haired elezen man with her, by the name of Erimmont Chevalier.

The trio talked of philosophy and arcanima, of magic and things intellectual while wrapping a finished tray of candies. The elezen male promised to return another day and not long after, the pair departed the shop. More hungry than she realized for another eloquent conversationalist, Glioca found she was eager to once again have his company. The two became friends, with the male lingering fairly often around the shop.
Unstable Stability
Things at home had become a bit awkward and unusual, what with the constant stream of traffic in and around the shop, combined with the usual array of characters who had somehow become part of their family. Though some of their children had gone, departing the family entirely and for good, others had lingered, foremost among them Siduris, a young man who had been brought into the family by her twin boys. It was he who found the next person who would join their family – a young hyurian woman by the name of Ellemeare with a gift for fire magic, on the run from an overbearing father who was poised to control her for the rest of her life. They offered the girl refuge in their home, first as a guest, and later as family.

It took some time for Ellemeare to settle into their family, but settle she did, and eventually, as a way to permanently hide the still skittish woman from her father, Glioca and A’rklonn offered something they had only experimented with. Utilizing the Echo to bind a soul to a completely different body created with repurposed and pilfered Allagan technology. It was a type of rebirth, something that didn’t seem possible. But research and notes proved that the soul was more mutable than they had originally expected, and beyond all hope, the experiment was a success, and Ellemeare, now living as an Elezen, join the family in a more formal fashion.

Not terribly long after this, incidents where Erimmont had been living and working at the Vylbrand Academy led to his departure from them in an official capacity. Offering her home as a place of rest for him while he squared himself away, Glioca and Erimmont grew closer by inches and degrees, an obvious thread of attraction growing between the pair of them. The man continued to live his own life while staying at the Phoenix Estate, and not long after he’d been given a proper guest room, Glioca returned to find blood on the floor, and the man gone after losing control during a hunting trip. They were estranged for many months, and Glioca once again turned inward.
Unpleasant Surprises
Siduris, who had been mostly absent during the events with Erimmont, announced that he would be traveling north, to Coerthas, on a trip meant for self-discovery and to train with those who would offer it to him. Disturbances in Mor Dhona and Coerthas around the same time prompted Glioca and A’rklonn into agreement, and they issued a small company of mercenaries to check into things in Mor Dhona, while Siduris traveled north. Glioca had given him her journal before his departure, and though the parting wasn’t tearful, she bade him be careful.

Her warnings of caution had been warranted, and skirmishing broke out deeper in Coerthas, with the rise of heretics and a more frantic pace felt in the northern region. When the call went out for defenders at the gates of Ishgard for any sellsword who would take up arms for coin, Glioca and A’rklonn put the shop in the hands of their sons Vaelen and Aelden, and traveled north, with Glioca laying down her healers staff for the first time in years, and taking back up her sword and shield. Though the pair didn’t see Siduris among the fighters, they knew he had to have been in the forward skirmishes as the Dravanian hordes began to wage their war against the Ishgardians.

She wasn’t wrong however, as barely two weeks later, she received a letter packaged with a journal, and the fragments of Siduris’ broken shield, streaked with blood. The death and loss of him became one more in a long litany of loss for the woman, and she went back to the front with renewed anger at having been robbed of one of her children.
In With The New
As things began settling down in Ishgard, with the forefront of the horde beaten back as individuals from the other city states began streaming through the gates, A’rklonn and Glioca returned home, though they knew they would eventually head north again at some point in the future. Sure enough, Glioca and A’rklonn began regular trips north, for supplies and to make business contacts, both for their Free Company, and for the shop.

But a night in the seclusion of the shop with her husband, and the lights all dimmed for the storms raging outside, and Glioca ended up pregnant for a fourth time in her life, this time with what she hoped would end up a girl, the first one she’d actually be giving birth to. Not long after her pregnancy began, Erimmont showed back up in her life, right on the heels of A’rklonn taking Ellemeare as one of his lovers.

Though there was still distance between Glioca and Erimmont brought on by their time apart, the attraction between the two was still prominent and persistent. When A’rklonn gave Erimmont his blessing, they decided to try to forge some kind of path together. The feelings between the two were strong, but that didn’t prove to be enough for either of them, as time, distance, and other problems arose between them. Still, they worked to try and get past them, though it felt like an uphill battle with no happy ending.
New Hope, New Loss
The threat of harming those she cared for was looming heavily over Glioca as she coped with the newness of her relationship with Erimmont, the trials of one of the roughest pregnancies she’d ever dealt with, and the constant fluctuations of her aether making her not just physically, but also mentally unstable. Her anger began to flare out of her control, and she started lashing out at people around her. In an attempt to give her something to focus on, to give her a means of control, she tried to take up archery lessons. But the increasing lack of control resulted in the one lesson Erimmont gave her ending in tears when she broke his arm accidentally. A little over two weeks later, she went into labor, some two and a half months early. Her hopes for a baby girl were realized in the form of her daughter, Solane, smaller than normal and with silver hair and her father’s pale violet eyes.

Though Glioca and her husband had thought that the birth of her daughter would end the imbalances in her aether and allow her to get herself back under control, the opposite ended up being true. Glioca finally approached Erimmont with what she had hoped and prayed was wrong. Her aether was starting to eat away at her, too much volume for one body to contain, and she was dying. Though Erimmont tried to find her help, Glioca, confronted with mortality for the first time in her life, panicked and pushed the Elezen man away. In a fit of anger, yelling and screaming, she threw him out of the estate, telling him to run back to the Twelveswood and his other lover, Kiipa. Though their parting had been particularly nasty, Glioca still harbored a very deep love for the man, but feared what her death might do to him, on the heels of so many others. Knowing that he felt she had kept her demise from him, and the details around it secretive, she felt that her path was the correct one, but that didn't stop the pain of his loss from her life.
Problems and Solutions
Glioca had dabbled before with different technologies and magics, as had A’rklonn, all in the pursuit of trying to find some solution to her problem. Nothing had panned out thus far, until Aedan, after a particularly nasty hunt in Thanalan, came visiting ‘round the shop with a horn off a particularly nasty Voidsent of considerable size. After a discussion over the properties and the type of fight that the beast had put up, A’rklonn and Glioca shared a moment of inspiration. The beast had been a strength type, and as the fight had borne on, it had released more and more of its strength. By utilizing the knowledge of one of A’rk’s sources, he hoped to fashion the horn into thin sleeves which would go along his wife’s spine, proving a physical stopgap for her aether imbalance.

With little more than a prayer that it might work, and the aid of Glioca’s medical knowledge via one of her re-purposed Allagan nodes, A’rklonn would have to set about affixing the sheaths to her spine, below the skin. The risk was obvious: rejection of the inscribed horn fragments, total paralyzation, or death. Considering, her other options were to do nothing and wait for her aether to eat away at her until she was dead, there wasn’t much of an option for her. Hours later, and A’rklonn closed her up. Beyond all of their hopes, it worked. Glioca could move, though it was shaky. Her limbs responded. Her aether, now trapped behind magical walls, was no longer threatening to consume her. Though the fix was only temporary, they had bought her some amount of time.

A’rklonn’s studies had brought to his attention other information – about the Fist of Rhalgr, an order who specialized in aether control, flow, and release. Glioca had never picked up the fine skill of absolute aether control, which was part of the reason that her own aether was overwhelming her so fiercely. The bracelet that her father had gifted her had been what controlled her aether currents since her youth. Self-control was never necessary. Now though, it had become absolutely critical. Aedan once again came to the rescue, arranging a meeting between Glioca and the blind woman who would become her teacher, Mistalv Arroway.
Reconnections and Binding Ties
Things went well for a time after finding Mistalv, with Glioca devoting herself to her training, and reconnecting with a woman she’d met through Erimmont, by the name of Syranelle Ironleaf. Unbeknownst to either of them, Glioca and Syranelle had met years and years before, when Syranelle was a girl. Though the two haven’t had much of a chance to speak and interact, Glioca hopes that they can again grow close, though getting to know the grown woman is a far cry different than the little girl she remembers bounding ‘round her mother’s shop.

The initial meeting with Mistalv finally came around, and Glioca and the woman squared off outside little Ala Mhigo. What Glioca had to say apparently struck the proper chords, because the woman agreed to teach her. Weeks had passed and Glioca had finally gotten free of her cane, back to walking on her own two feet, unaided, and her spine healing well. It looked like everything was falling into place, though she still avoided the topic of Erimmont, she planned to pen him a letter, and while she never expected him to accept her apology, she wanted to explain. She was downstairs in the living room of the estate, book in her lap, pen nearby, preparing to put ink to parchment when Kiipa Nulstat came down the stairs, Erimmont’s glasses in hand.

He was dead.

Glioca and Kiipa spent the next day ritually preparing his body, and laid him to rest beneath the Lifemend Stump. Glioca still goes, once per week, to lay flowers on his grave. A single forget-me-not is all she leaves behind, a fonder memory from happier times, rather than the bitterness that they were left with at their last parting. Though he left behind a letter for her, forgiving her, she's never quite forgiven herself, resulting in a threading anger that persists, even so long after his death.
Growing Up, Moving On
After Erimmont's death, Glioca threw herself into the same things she always does to try and get past sorrow. Work, training, flirtation. Distractions all around to get her past whatever great tragedy is lingering on her. And the source of her regret was one such step. A long talk with Aedan Steelweaver after Starlight gave Glioca a different perspective on her life, and she went into a several month isolation, talking to very few besides Mistalv, or her immediate family.

When she was spotted months later, her hair had grown out, the odd black-white pattern of her hair changed again, her training as a Fist another step closer to being complete, and whatever sorrow she'd been dealing with put well behind her. With the rigors of childbirth and the newborn months of Solane behind her, she'd finally gone back on the mend, as many steps as she could get back to being herself again.

Ark-Wiki-Icon.png
A'rklonn Sargonnai ( )
Husband
While not her first love, A'rklonn is the love of Glioca's life, and the one person in all the worlds that she'd willingly walk into the Void for if something happened to him. Despite whatever other relationships they have had, Glioca and A'rklonn have a long and lasting bond that has carried them through trials, tribulations, and the birth of their four children. While she does not openly say so frequently, she both envies her husband for some of his life experiences, and admires him for his endurance and persistence despite all the ill that has happened to him during his similarly long life. She could think of no one else she would choose to spend her life with, and considers him, as she calls him frequently, the other half of her heart and soul.
Vaelen Sargonnai. ( )
Son
One half of the twins born of Glioca and A'rklonn, Vaelen is the more impulsive of the two. There is no doubt that Glioca has a more open affection for Vaelen than Aelden, if only because of the time spent together in Vae's youth. The two regularly engage in physical training together, with Glioca passing on some of her sword techniques to Vae, and Vae constantly challenging and pushing her harder as she grows more and more proficient with physical combat with a weapon. With Vaelen comes his wife Arkhiss, a Duskwight woman who Glioca is very fond of. The two have a sometimes physical relationship that is a holdover from Vae's youth.
Aelden-Wiki-Icon.png
Aelden Sargonnai ( )
Son
The other half of the twins, Aelden is the more sedate and laid-back of the two boys. Glioca and Aelden are not as close, though they have similar hobbies and interests (the study of magic, especially). Glioca often sets Aelden to task at magical research and development of his own style of combat. Despite this lack of closeness, she loves her son very much, and hopes that one day he carves out his own niche in the world. She is glad however, that Aelden and A'rklonn share the kind of close bond that she and her son cannot.
Anthya-Wiki-Icon.png
Anthya Sargonnai ( )
Adopted Daughter
Glioca adores Anthya, one of the eldest of her adopted children. The affections between the two are often warm, sometimes teasing, sometimes competitive, but most often cooperative, especially in regards to scholarly pursuits. They share a love of books, tea, and continual expansion of knowledge. Though they don't often get to spend much time together, what time they do spend in one another's company is a continual game of one-upping one another with the information they've gleaned during their time apart, with Anthya constantly striving to catch up to the older Elezen's experiences.
Elle-Wiki-Icon.png
Ellemeare Sargonnai ( )
Adopted Daughter
The most recent of her adopted children, and in fact, one of the last of them, Ellemeare is a girl that they met by circumstance, who has quickly become a treasured part of the family. She's one of the most recent that A'rklonn and Glioca have adopted. She finds the girl to be intelligent and intuitive, if a bit easily embarrassed. The two share a great affection and warmth. There is a definite physical side to their relationship, and perhaps a bit of a romantic side as well, though that isn't the focus of their relationship.
Kat-Wiki-Icon.png
Katja Hoax ( )
Adopted Daughter
A young and vibrant individual who she has come to call daughter, Katja is a wild spirit with a stubborn streak a mile wide, something Glioca recognizes in the girl as a trait shared with her husband. She has a fondness for her whose depth she isn't certain Katja realizes, cementing the younger woman as her family in a way that she's certain neither of them actually expected.
Solane-Wiki-Icon.png
Solane Sargonnai ( )
Daughter
The most recent addition to the Sargonnai family, born on the 21st Sun of the Fifth Umbral Moon, under Nald'thal, Solane was named in part after Selaine, Glioca's mother. Solane is the last addition that A'rklonn and Glioca plan on making, with no thoughts of children in their future. She is growing rapidly for an Elezen child, despite being a touch premature at the time of her birth. She is mostly healthy, however, and that was what concerned her parents the most. Neither of them know what the future will hold for her, but they hope to see her grow and develop, to become something wonderful in her own time, though that is many years away.
Sora-Wiki-Icon.png
Sora Ametsuchi ( )
Adopted Granddaughter
Sora first came to the family as Shin, using an assumed name, and Glioca readily adopted the girl into the group. The two speak often on many topics when they're together, and Glioca's always making some Doman dish or another for the young woman. She enjoys being able to utilize some of her older recipes for the girl. There's a great deal of respect between the two, if not also familial love.
Charinelle Sarrasin ( )
Granddaughter
She's Glioca's youngest grandchild, and she doesn't have much experience with the young woman, the girl having just come over from Othard in the wake of the Garlean Empire toppling Doma, but she looks forward to growing to know her better.
Acquaintances
Vierdyn Faucaux ( )
Retainer
No one is quite sure where the male Duskwight came from, only that he's often either at her side, or lurking about the Phoenix Estate. He's a very quiet individual, and also the solicitor employed for legal matters in the Free Company. He tends the day to day bookwork for the shop run out of the front of the Manor, and often helps when the Company gets themselves into a pinch. While the relationship between the two isn't precisely romantic, there is a very passionate love that Glioca feels for him, one that steps outside the realm of lovers and into the realm of a devoted submissive at his Mistress' heels.
Aedan-Wiki-Icon.png
Aedan Steelweaver ( )
Friend
Glioca met Aedan at a party hosted in the Goblet, and the two know one another through Katja. She finds the man to be interesting, and there is definitely a budding friendship between the two of them, with banter passed easily back and forth between the pair. She hasn't bothered to hide her physical attraction to the man, but that isn't unusual given her preference for taller males with whom she can see eye to eye. He has an easy manner to him that Glioca can appreciate, and the two have shared several long conversations about their lives, forging a much deeper friendship, one that Glioca is thankful for.
Syra-Wiki-Icon.png
Syranelle Ironleaf ( )
Friend
The pair of them first met a number of years ago, when Syranelle was still young. Glioca, or rather, Meallaire, spent time training at the hand of her mother, Vivenne. For seven years the two were thick as thieves. When Meallaire departed quite suddenly, called into service for Gridania, the two lost contact, and have only recently reconnected. She knows the woman is likely cautious of her, and she cannot blame her for being rightly guarded. She hopes that they can once again grow close as time passes.
Mistalv-Wiki-Icon.png
Mistalv Arroway ( )
Teacher
Glioca met Mistalv through Aedan, who arranged a meeting between the two women. She has a lot of respect for the blind monk, and under her tutelage is thriving in her new training. With the two of them both adepts at combat, many of their spars devolve less into sparring, and more into an exchange of styles, techniques, and many long conversations between the two about everything from their original homes to plans for the future. Glioca pledged herself into helping train new Fists, and Mistalv pledged to help teach Glioca their ways and control of her gates. The relationship between the two is mutually beneficial.
Rtahz-Wiki-Icon.png
R'tahz Tia ( )
Acquaintance
Glioca met R'tahz at his wedding to J'karu Rhome, after being given an invitation by an elderly gentleman in Coerthas. Curiosity prompted her to attend, and the two are only casually acquainted, though Glioca got a very positive first impression of the male.
Jkaru-Wiki-Icon.png
J'karu Rhome ( )
Acquaintance
Glioca met J'karu at her wedding to R'tahz, after being given an invitation by an elderly gentleman in Coerthas. Curiosity prompted her to attend, and the two are only casually acquainted, though Glioca got a very positive first impression of the woman. She is in the process of creating a Sabotender Bailarina plush for the female miqo'te.
Former Acquaintances
Tallera-Wiki-Icon.png
Tallera Weaver ( )
Friend
Glioca met Tallera through her husband A'rklonn, and the two had an oddly close relationship despite the amount of time they spent distant from one another. Glioca respects Tallera's grasp on magic, and she knows that there's a definite attraction to her on the part of the Hyurian woman, and in the past she was happy to indulge. Her greatest concern with Tallera is usually whether she's eaten whatever day she sees her, and if she's taking proper care of herself. Tallera was A'rklonn's apprentice, and to a small degree, also Glioca's, but time and circumstance seems to have changed that. Of late, it seems as if Tallera has vanished entirely from the face of Eorzea, and while Glioca is concerned, she hopes whatever misadventure led the girl out of their presence treats her well.
Erimmont-Wiki-Icon.png
Erimmont Chevalier ( )
Ex-Lover
The relationship between Erimmont and Glioca began as a friendship that developed into both more and less on both sides. She loved him quite deeply, but the relationship was shaky at best. When her own demise seemed just around the corner thanks to her aetherical imbalance, she shoved him away in hopes of turning his love to hate, and sparing him the loss of her. Not long after, he passed away, though that was later revealed to be a ruse. Though initially angry, she's come to grips with the toxicity of their respective actions. She sent him a missive that offered explanations, and well-wishes for whatever his future held, closing the chapter of her history that contained him for good.
Eme-Wiki-Icon.png
Emeraven Stormrose ( )
Former Partner
Once upon a time, Glioca and A'rklonn were in a relationship with Eme, who was also quite close to their daughter Anthya. It all ended quite poorly, with the Elezen woman only belatedly finding out about the Miqo'te woman's infidelity. Since then, she goes to great lengths to avoid the woman. While she's moved past what happened, it still leaves the taste of ashes in her mouth to recall what occurred. She considered the woman an enemy for a short time, but she finds it difficult to muster even that, instead feeling pity for the woman, and whoever has the misfortune to end up her next partner, as she knows the woman's affections are fleeting at best.
Deceased
Selaine-Wiki-Icon.png
Selaine Friont ( )
Mother
Selaine passed away when Meallaire was barely five summers old. She felt the loss quite deeply, despite having almost no memory of the woman that her father mourned so deeply. Still, her loss was incredibly impacting in Meallaire's life, as it was her sickness and death which eventually drove her toward Conjury, and similarly influenced her into mothering others, as she didn't have one herself.
Jeulerand-Wiki-Icon.png
Jeulerand Sarrasin ( )
Father
Jeulerand did his best to care for his daughter after the loss of her mother. He was lost to skirmishes in the Twelveswood with Ala Mhigo when Meallaire was fifteen summers old. His loss was felt very deeply by the girl, and she fell into a depression for a number of years, before finally departing to Othard.
Cirinelle-Wiki-Icon.png
Cirenelle Friont ( )
Aunt
After Jeulerand passed away, Meallaire stayed with Cirenelle, who attempted to pull the girl from the deep depression that overtook her at his loss. She saw the girl off to Othard, and didn't see her again until Meallaire returned. By that time, the woman was on her death bed, and she passed not long after.
Valis-Wiki-Icon.png
Valistaux Sarrasin ( )
Son
Valistaux was the first son born to Meallaire and Vandor, and grew up in Doma. Much like his parents, he's used magical means to extend his lifespan, along with the woman he eventually married, Esirelle, a girl that Meallaire and Vandor adopted during their travels around Othard. The two have a single daughter, Charinelle. Glioca recently received word that Valistaux and Esirelle were killed in conflict with Garlean soldiers.
Esi-Wiki-Icon.png
Esirelle Sarrasin ( )
Adopted Daughter
Esirelle, is a Duskwight girl that Meallaire and Vandor adopted while in Othard. She was young, and had ended up coming across the ocean as cargo in a slaver ship. The pair purchased the girl outright, and adopted her into their small family. She grew up alongside Valistaux, and no one was surprised when they eventually fell in love. The two have a single daughter, Charinelle. Glioca recently received word that Valistaux and Esirelle were killed in conflict with Garlean soldiers.
Sid-Wiki-Icon.png
Siduris Sargonnai ( )
Adopted Son
Siduris came to the family through odd circumstances, via the woman who would become his wife, Alupia, who was also intimate with Vaelen and Aelden. When the group split, Alupia abandoned the family, with Siduris staying behind. Glioca was closer to the younger man than she had been her adoptive daughter and had a very deep respect for him. His loss was a bitter blow for her, and she keeps his broken shield tucked carefully away with her more prized possessions. She hopes that he wanders somewhere still, not dead, but living a better life. She may never know the truth of it.

"Always orders the same thing. Jenever, she calls it. Smells like a bloody Starlight Tree. An' wot's with that little flask o'hers? Red liquid, spikes the drink all the time. Bad enough she doesn't just call the stuff Gin. Hmf." — Quicksand Barmaid.
"Sure, I've seen her around. Every time she drops by the Knight. Rarely drinks, barely eats, just listens for hours at a time, 'fore leaving again, that sword on her hip. Always looks cold when she goes out. Not chilled, you know, just... cold." — Patron at the Forgotten Knight.
"That shop of hers sure does have a variety. I found some new books, a rouge for my lips, and these little wrapped candies that were to die for!" — Ul'dah Citizen.
◢ Uncommon Rumors - A little more difficult to hear. Use sparingly or ask first!
"She's got an inventive mind, and a drive to constantly push the boundaries of what we think is possible. She'll go far, of that I'm certain." — Severian.
"We see her a lot down in the Brume. Blankets n' bread, warm words n' healing. Don't seem to mind getting dirty in a dustup when someone says a foul word to her neither. Always just patches 'em up afterward n' goes back about her business." — Brume Rat.
"I used to see her visiting the Lifemend Stump. Same day and bell every week, always carrying a flower. Then suddenly she just stopped, haven't seen her in a few weeks. Not certain what the story there was, and I never thought to ask." — Wood Wailer.
"She's always stopping by when she's in Gridania, looking for some new clipping, or a sampling of seeds. She spends a lot of time sketching and writing about the things we bring in, adding them to some or another book she's working on." — Gridanian Botanist.
◢ Rare Rumors - Very rarely overheard. Please ask before using!
"Glioca? Diligent with her study, but something about her sets me on edge. Those eyes of hers are too old to belong to someone that young." — Cocobuki, Thaumaturge's Guild.
"Someone told me she was a lady of the evening. Can you imagine the shame of it?" — Ishgardian Noblewoman.
"She definitely knows how to work a piece of wood to an exquisite finish, that's for certain." — Beatin, Carpenter's Guild.
"Miss Meallaire? Healed us even when others in Gridania ignored us. Said she didn't care about the Elementals, just about helping those who needed it. Saved my son when no one else would. I don't care what anyone else says about her, she cares, and that's more than most." — Ala Mhigan Woman.
"Sometimes two souls love each other to a point that they lack an adequate way to express it. It becomes easier to express any number of other emotions instead. I see that, when I look at Meallaire and Jeulerant." — Argenia, Wise Woman.
PC Rumors

Feel free to add your own rumors to this section.

◢ Player Character Rumors - Some of these are more rare than others!
"Just because I know a little magic doesn't mean I'm the one you should watch out for. My wife is an absolute monster when it comes to combat. Everyone worries about me, but she's the scary one." — A'rklonn Sargonnai.
"You're an idiot." — Anthya Sargonnai, whenever anyone mentions doing anything against Glioca..
"Oh... yeah, she came to our wedding. I can't really say I know them that well. Er, no, I don't rightly know why they were there. But! Anyroad. She seemed well enough, a bit unusual and mysterious, but kind and pleasant in the way you'd expect of someone who holds herself with that kind of poise." — J'karu Rhome.
"I know she dislikes my kind, and I understand her reasons. I respect her quite a bit, and am deeply appreciative of what she does for Erimmont... I'm not used to feeling intimidated, but I can't deny that she's pleasant company all the same. Additionally, her culinary skills are absolutely divine." — Kiipa Nulstat.

IC Inventory
The following items are things that Glioca carries on her person at all times. These are noted for pickpockets, and those watching her closely. This information is meant to be a prompt for insight and is not to be meta-gamed, though feel free to use this information if it comes up logically in RP (pickpocketing, a search, etc) with use of a simple /tell.

Glio coinpurse.png Glio ring.png Glio knife.png Sackicon.png Glio herbs.png Glio journal.png Glio quill.png Inkpot.png Glio rations.png VialIcon.png Glio alchkit.png Glio medkit.png Glio candy.png

Coinpurse: A simple coin purse made of soft leather, containing a few hundred gil.
Eternal Bond Ring: Resting on the ring-finger of her left hand, this ring rarely leaves her person, but when exceptionally nervous she fidgets with the ring, spinning it on her finger.
Belt Knife: A simple knife affixed to Glioca's belt in most of her traveling outfits, a general all-purpose kind of blade that she keeps clean and sharp.
Leather Satchel: An item that has been with Glioca for quite a while, this larger leather satchel is soft from wear but also from the obvious care given it by its owner. It contains a number of different items, including a secondary tied coin purse with three hundred gil meant to serve as emergency coinage for airship fare in the event that she gets stuck in any particular place.
Herb Sachet: Mixed Teas - Among these are three blends, wrapped in a sectioned scroll case meant to keep the flavors from mingling. Among them she has a calming tea, an invigorating tea, and a tea meant for an upset stomach.
Journal & Ink: A simple journal that contains a number of images of herbs and plants, along with a few pressed samples of different herbs, as well as various sketches of human anatomy and skeletal structures. These sketches have notations in short-hand along the sides and the pages have seen obvious and frequent use. A small black vial rests with the journal, tightly capped, and beside it a crow feather quill.
Travel Rations: These rations are wrapped tightly and tied off in parchment paper, and are a mixed of dried meat, grains and meal, and dried fruits, enhanced with an alchemical concoction to preserve it for longer journeys.
Unassuming Vial: This vial contains a liquid of unknown origin, which Glioca often adds to any drinks she's having in any public locale. It's only purpose is to test a liquid for unsavory additions, and the liquid inside turns black if these concoctions are detected.
Tied Satchels: These satchels are coded by color, and Glioca can usually tell which bag is which in a hurry and not by sight if needed, usually by the stitching on the side and the fabric its made from.
Alchemical Remedies: Various alchemical concoctions, mostly in smaller vials meant to supplement Glioca's healing as needed. Among them are smelling salts, an antidote, a hi-potion, a single ether, and a double dose of eye drops.
Medical Kit: This medical kit contains bandages, twine, thread, needles, a small scalpel, numbing salve, a powdered painkiller and an antiseptic and is primarily used for treating small wounds and such on the go.
Wrapped Candies: A small assortment of some of the candies that Glioca makes and sells at her shop, most of these are either flavored or coated in chocolate, and kept cool with an ice crystal stuffed in among them to prevent melting. The flavors she usually carries with her are almond, honey lemon, mint, orange and rolanberry.
RP Limits
I like to consider myself a flexible player who is willing to commit to a number of different types of scenes and role-play scenarios, but even I have my limits. If something is on the play list, assume it means yes, as long as it's within the context of the current play or ongoing plot. No's are typically a hard no, and it means don't ask. There are certain things that I prefer to mitigate in her story because of the anguish she's already been through in her backstory.
I will play all RP themes from dark, serious and mature (violence, sexuality, torture, murder, conflict, drug / alcohol use) to the more light-hearted, humorous and simplistic, as long as it makes sense in the course of the RP. Plots that range from long-term to one-shots, elaborate and large-scale to minor and frivolous. Serious injury. Temporary injury and incapacitation. Temporary captivity or imprisonment. Combat, ambushes, assassination attempts, rivalries, friendships, romantic or sexual tension, coarse language and morally unclear subjects are all welcomed.
Ask about mutilation, permanent scarring or symbolic markings, long-term and/or permanent injury and disfigurement. Long-term captivity or imprisonment. Temporary character death. Significant mental tampering or programming. Anything dramatically character-changing or that might render her unplayable for a prolonged period of time.
I won't play permanent character death. Permanent maiming or any crippling that prevents her from functioning independently. Rape/kidnap/torture plots. Random ERP that occurs outside of organic interactions.
RP Hooks
Glioca has done and seen a lot in her history. While the below is by no means comprehensive, it's a kind of spring board for walk-up RP. Longer plots that are meant to run for more than a few quick RP's, please feel free to send me a tell so we can work out a good reason for our characters to get to know one another. I'm always looking for RP, unless I'm actively spamming PvE content.

OOC Notes
Player Information
Player Note
First, thanks for taking the time to read my wiki! I know it can be pretty long and pretty daunting, and I included a lot of information here. I'm the voice of reason and terrible creative mind behind Glioca. I've been RPing for over half my life, and love the hobby. That said, I do have a few things I want from those I play with. First and foremost is that I know Glioca is opinionated and has some pretty extreme viewpoints, but that's not necessarily reflective of me as a person. I always expect and try myself to maintain a clear IC / OOC division in RP. Glioca's feelings and my feelings are separate. I prefer clear lines of communication with whomever I'm RPing with, and those I'm RPing with should always feel free to send a /tell to clear up any questions.

A large point of note, and I feel this is important, is that I do not believe in 'retconning' a storyline, even if it ends unfavorably for myself or my characters. Names may or may not be changed, and tidbits of information might be changed to better reflect a character's story, but I refuse to undo elements of her past that have happened. If your character was involved with Glioca in a storyline or other aspect, except those aspects to be recognized, even if negative, for the remainder of her play. If a player feels as if they need to retcon it from their story, that is their prerogative, but as a player I don't share this preference, instead letting the good and bad shape my character, regardless of the outcome.

There is a lot of information on this character wiki, but it is by no means completely comprehensive. There are chunks of backstory that are left intentionally vague so that details can be later added as developed through creative writing or in role-play revelation. Feel free to use Common or Uncommon rumors freely, if you want to use a Rare Rumor as a plot hook or to spark RP, I would ask that you send me a tell first, to make certain it's alright.
Character Lore Adherence
Everything concerning this character that has not been confirmed by in-game lore should be taken with a grain of salt. While an effort was made to craft lore that was vague enough and would believably fit into what we know based on the Echo, until we have hard and fast information from SE. Changes made to make her fit more accurately within the lore will be noted below, as well specific tweaks that are potentially lore plausible, if not entirely lore adhering.
■ Magic Swordsmanship is a nod to Mystic Knight, from older Final Fantasy games, and has been developed through role-play. It combines different elements of the various classes presented in game, and is considered a place-holder until SE releases a similar class (not Dark Knight), or permanent, if they never do. Details may be changed accordingly if a similar class is later introduced to the game. This extends to Aetherfist, which is meant to be a monk/spellcaster combination.
■ Any reference to 'white magic' in Glioca's wiki is considered to be white magic in the sense of conjury and healing magic, as opposed to the white magic of the Shroud. Similarly, any reference to 'black magic' refers to thaumaturgy, and not the magic of the Black.
■ Glioca's advanced age is a flexing of the lore that we haven't seen specifically as not possible, but that we don't have explicit confirmation on it being possible. This plays fast and loose with the concepts of Conjury to reinforce the body, Alchemy as a means of restoring or rejuvenating and maintaining a youthful appearance, as well as the Echo as a means of a soul ending up (accidentally) in a new body rather than that body simply dying.
Character Concept
Glioca's original concept and name are drawn from Kru/Nexon's Dark Ages, and the character has been played across many settings and MMO's over the last 13+ years, each version of her different to more appropriately fit into the lore of the world she's played in. This iteration has been modified to fit into the FFXIV Universe, as Meallaire.

Tropes & Explanations
A trope is a convention or device that is often found in creative works. In this case, the tropes below describe Meallaire/Glioca either in part, or as a whole. Her background, personality, appearance, etc, most of them can be described in the tropes below.
Action Girl This trope is self-explanatory. Glioca enjoys getting dirty in a fight, and is a very in-your-face style combatant when engaged.
Beware The Nice Ones She's a very sweet and lovely woman, she wears a smile that turns scary when she closes her eyes. She's frightened grown men to tears with those smiles of hers, usually only when truly deserved, however.
Deadly Doctor Glioca has a lot of medical knowledge and uses it to great effect. While she's a healer, she also doesn't prescribe to any kind of oath that would prevent her from doing harm to others. Ironically, she was a pacifist in her youth, and hated violence.
Even the Girls Want Her This keeps happening to her, even when she is somewhat snapppish and short with other women. Her family affectionately refers to it as her turning people 'Gliosexual', a comment which always earns them hard stares and dirty looks.
Older Than They Look Alchemy, Conjury and the Echo have contributed to Glioca's advanced lifespan, despite the fact that in physical appearance, she looks like she couldn't be past her early 30's, at the latest.
Photographic Memory Glioca has a memory that is so sharp that she can look at an item, and reproduce it without much effort. She can learn a great deal in a very short amount of time, representing the limitless potential she possesses for learning and advancement. It takes time and repetition for her to learn anything to enough effect to be considered a master in it, even if she can produce above-average results in many things.
Renaissance Woman Glioca has lived a very long life, and as such, has picked up a number of different skills, ranging from the normal tradecrafts into advanced fields like science, technology, medicine, and more, as applicable in the FFXIV world. She's tinkered with Allag technology, and can weave reeds into a basket if she needs to. She's skilled and picks up new skills and talents with ease, with limitless potential. She then takes all of the subjects and knowledge she amasses and uses it to make quality of life improvements to those around her, or teaches what she has learned to others who ask it of her.
Silk Hiding Steel When she's not playing up her abilities or acting the part of a hardass, Glioca comes off as a very caring, sweet, and motherly individual. She's often soft-spoken, rarely raises her voice, and can seem almost timid for those unaware of her actual nature. She often presents herself as a lady, but has a very hard side under her kindness. Goes along with Beware The Nice Ones.
