GENERAL INFORMATION Nobi Ohndyn is a young Miqo'te woman who is recently coming into a more social life. She had spent much of her life as a Hyur, thanks to a glamour-based spell she had recently found had been cast upon her by her birth mother, and under the moniker Niobe Ondinethanks to one Naih'a Ithihoh, who had thought to bestow upon her a more befitting name for a Midlander. However, upon her mother's passing, the spell had weakened exponentially, and recent ventures caused the glamour to fade entirely. In terms of what activities have been occupying her time, she is learning to properly utilize both her Summoner and Red Mage soul crystals while maintaining peaceable relations with the native Beast Tribes roaming the lands, and expanding her list of friends. APPEARANCE Her wardrobe tends to lean towards a more conservative appearance, her ideal look being akin to a sultry teacher. She leans towards a watery color palette, and any other colors that might complement her many shades of blue. She has Blue hair that is waist-length, and she keeps it in a single giant braid more often than not. In terms of height, she's quite tall for a Keeper Miqo'te, thanks in part to her Hyuran father. While she has no tattoos, she does have a scar across the bridge of her nose, faint scarring around her neck, and remnants of a gash in the lower-left of her stomach. PERSONALITY Headstrong. Mouthy. Intellectual Niobe takes after Naih'a in the sense that she has a mouth on her that often gets her in trouble. She's a quick thinker who always has something to say, though she can tend to be more bark than bite. Only when she feels a person is toxic to her or her loved ones' health will her teeth bare, and she'll go through all the stops to see and end brought to the opposition. She has a painfully soft spot when it comes to the Beast Tribes in general. Having served as a diplomat for other neutral tribes in the recent years, she tolerates very little when it comes to insulting or endangering her misunderstood friends. LIKES Reading She has a book in hand more often than not(Not simply because she's a Summoner). She has titled herself both a Chronicler and Archivist of a number of Free Companies she has been involved with Beast Tribes As stated, she has a strong love for beast tribes as a whole, regardless of who their primal is. Magic Though having severely low aether reserves, she has a deep-rooted love for magicks. Her determination to become an Archmage has brought her to the brink of death twice. She can utilize the Soul of the Summoner to its full potential, thanks to it being a catalyst of aether. Apart from that, she can use small-scale conjury and thaumaturgy. Singing Although it had been a behind-the-scenes hobby for a good while, a recent acquaintance has managed to break her shell, and open her mind to the idea of singing in front of a crowd. DISLIKES Naih'a Ithihoh The man who both gave her a name in Eorzea, and also jeopardized everything and everyone she came to hold dear. She frequently insults him whenever the opportunity arises, and actively seeks to thwart any of his well-thought schemes in the making. Primals This can be said for anyone. Niobe harbors this grudge entirely because of how they manipulate the Beast Tribes. She isn't against attempting to pick a fight with a Primal to harvest its essence. Her opinion is akin to how Garlemald views the Eikons, and for this she sort of agrees with how Garlemald goes about things. Religion As a whole, the idea of following a set belief makes her uncomfortable. This in part can be tied to Primals, how they're viewed by the tempered. though, the discomfort is much more deep-rooted than that. Lies She is a person who believes in putting everything out on the table. Thusly, she expects the same. STRENGTHS Scriptwork She has kept a detailed record of the activities of her friends both in and out of her Free Company, and thoroughly enjoys doing so. History What started out as a hobby, and later found out to be a skill she inherited from her father, Nobi has a keen sense and thorough knowledge of much of the past, and will frequently read historical exerts to extend her historical knowledge. Wit She keeps her mind constantly active. Be it returning insults, or issuing tactics to her party members. She knows the battlefield well enough to hold her own. Diplomacy Her time with the Beast tribes has helped her pick up on strategies in working out problems, finding common ground between man and beast. WEAKNESSES Beast Tribes Her compassion for the beasts leaves her prone to bouts of anger and lashing out if provoked Criticism As she has been coming out of her shell, so too have her insecurities. Should one come at her in a way that throws her in the mud, she begins to clam up. Romance PDA in general, if overdone, drives her mad. However, hearing about bouts of love or anything akin to that, she'll become a puddle of ooh's and aww's. Ever much the hopeless romantic. Teleportation She doesn't particularly know why, but she has never had the stomach for teleportation. She can do so, but it will leave her weakened or sickly for a time after the fact. In this regard, especially with Kugane being in the picture, she only does it when time is of the essence. CURRENT INVENTORY This is a list of the items that CHARACTER currently is keeping on THEIR person. Feel free to use this information if it comes up logically in the course of RP, such as pickpocketing, a search, etc. Last Updated: 03/01/2018 Grimoire: As a Summoner, Nobi needs the grimoire at her side. She has loose paper betwixt the pages in which she jots down notes and reminders. Phials Whether empty or filled, she keeps phials at the ready. Always a tonic, potion, poison, enchanted ink, and an empty to gather water for sustenance. Linkpearls As she does much business with the Grand Companies, she has a number of contacts within her linkpearl that she might switch between freely. COMBAT & WEAPONRY Niobe fights first and foremost with her mind. She'll often prod at her opponent with words to provoke a response, see how they act and the likelihood of them going in a frenzy. Beyond that, she fights with her spells and tonics. Though limited in what spells she can use outside of the Arcane arts, she isn't against pushing herself beyond her normal boundaries if the foe is worth it. Cantamina Thavnaria The key to her Summoning, she jots down a sequence with her enchanted ink and brings her powers to the table. This grimoire in particular, she found within the Great Gubal Library whilst searching for more information on her home roots. In it, aside from the formula and sequences, and the sentimental value, are notes and reminders. Her nose is often in the grimoire, so she knows for certain she'd see the notes before long and keep her on track. Estoc and Medium A family heirloom sent to her by her father from her late mother, this estoc has much sentimental value. She keeps it handy whenever she can, but is always hesitant to use it for fear of it breaking. Toxic Phial(s) While not absolutely lethal, she carries a multitude of these in the event that her mana runs dry, and will pelt a foe with them. Mostly sleep poisons, however she never could get the tranquilizer to poison ratio down. Who knows what could come from it? Serpent Lieutenant's Scepter In the event that conjury is required, Nobi will have this handy, to properly channel her curative skills. EXPERIENCE LOG Here is a list of recent and/or notable fights, roleplay scenes, etc. that CHARACTER has been a part of. This list is by no means all inclusive, and serves more as a general reference as to what HE/SHE has been up to. Tomorluu Arulaq (09/15/2015): Baldur Blade A member of the Stellazzio Remnants who was directly linked in the disappearance of Naih'a Ithihoh, he had been overwhelmed by darkness. His hunger for revenge against an Elder Wyrm caused him to go to an extreme: Killing a massive number of Kobold in order to ignite the rage of Titan. After vanquishing the primal, he was confronted by a number of members of the Remnants, where he killed one and injured another and fled. Eventually he came into contact with Niobe, who had further pressed his rage. Though he dealt heavy damage to her, the previous party made him weak enough that the poisons she used knocked him out and kept him in a coma. Tomorluu Arulaq (2/3/2016) : Baldur Blade Tomorluu recently awoke from his coma with a huge gap in his memory. Almost as if nothing happened, though it was found he was steadily poison by that tonic Niobe used and was slowly dying. Niobe brought him along under strict supervision to accompany Aea and Selphie in Azys Lla, where they honed in on Naih'a's trail. After finding it was a bad lead, Tomorluu stayed behind as he was feeling especially weak. Upon encountering Tiamat, Niobe walked out from behind the ensnared Elder Wyrm, with intent to finish what she failed to do previously. This is something she keeps private to this day, as the eccentricity she showed terrified her after the fact. BACKSTORY Born in Thavnair, much of her early childhood is unknown to her. Early in her childhood, her mother had cast a glamour spell on both Nobi and herself, due to Keepers being loathed in the locale where they lived. They became Midlanders, like her father. It is unbeknownst to her how she ended up in Eorzea, but when she got her wits about her, she was in La Noscea, and surrounded by drowned pirates. With her being young and defenseless, Naih'a Ithihoh swooped in and saved her, then took her to Gridania. When he asked her name, and she told him in a daze, he found it peculiar that she had a Keeper's name despite looking like a Hyur, so he called her Niobe Ondine, a play on her Keeper name. Soon after, he realized he could not take care of her, so he dropped her off at the Conjurer's Guild as an orphan, saying she had potential to become a skilled Conjurer. Further summers passed, and she was inducted to Naih'a's Free Company, the Phoenix Archive, whilst still in training. Shortly after, the Free Company and all its members were apprehended. Niobe narrowly escaped and was eventually met by Aea Taharka. The two set out and after Naih'a's disappearance, brought Selphie Terrra and Tomorluu Arulaq along, forming the Stellazzio Remnants with Niobe as their leader. Upon finding out Tomorluu was linked to Naih'a's disappearance, and after apprehending and capturing the Au Ra, Niobe was told that she was a nobody. That her perceived upbringing was entirely false. This threw her into a rage, to which she nearly murdered Tomorluu. They both were found unconscious by Selphie and Aea, and taken into the Company's infirmary. She left before recovering from that fight, and sought to become an Archmage on her own account. RECENT HISTORY She was already relatively adept in Conjury, and before long she became an adept diplomat for the many tribes. She eventually came across Aea and Selphie, who found a lead on Naih'a that led into Azys Lla. Upon venturing there, she found her Soul of the Summoner, and with it a brooding secret involving something called the Warring Triad. The events in Azys Lla lead to the passing of Aea and Tomorluu, but they had found Naih'a. He returned with a group of Garleans with whom he said had also defected and were seeking reclamation. Niobe let them in despite her gut advising her against it. Her gut eventually proved to be authentic, as their leader came after a moon and obliterated their estate. Niobe was separated from her friends yet again. A number of moons had passed since that traumatic event, and Niobe had spent much of the time trailing Naih'a. She eventually found her way to the Adventurer's League of Eorzea, where he was resting with a feigned innocence. This infuriated her to no end, but she was cut off by one Aedida Aldricht. She plead her case, and was offered a place into the League as well. She was caught off guard, but she accepted all the same. She has spent a good cycle there, making friends and finding old friends, all while keeping an eye on Naih'a, keeping her allies from the trouble he might cause. In recent moons, she found out her mother had passed in a missive from her father, and she also was reminded of her birth name, Nobi Ohndyn. She was told that her mother cast the glamour spell, and it soon after fell apart. She reclaimed her birth name, and put Niobe on the sidelines as a nickname to be used by old acquaintances. She has made a new friend, one Charla Evermist. This person has been successful where many have not in breaking her shell. Someone she calls her best friend, which has been a new sensation, has been introducing her to a feminine side she hadn't realized she had. Getting her into singing, bringing her to mixers, and making her realize she wants to try and become an Eorzean Idol. Nobi has been at a happier point now than she has been in a while. The only knowledge Nobi has of Mahr comes from a number of missives from her father, Clive. She is a Keeper, was a proficient Red Mage, and she had cast a life-linked Glamour magic on both her and her daughter so that they may live without concern. She has passed sometime in this cycle. Clive, father. 🔃 CHARACTER's Thoughts: "Why only send me missives? Why can't you come to find me, father? Why haven't you sent anything or made an attempt recently?" All Nobi knows of her father is he is a Thavnairian Chronicler. What this means, however, is beyond her. She doesn't remember what he looks like, only that one day he sent her a missive, and has sent a number more. As of late, she has received nothing, and is concerned with his wellbeing. LIST OF NON-FAMILY RELATIONS Aedida Aldricht, League Sha'ir, Dear friend. $✔🔒 CHARACTER’s Thoughts: "I do believe she's somewhat older than me. But she's so kind, and so trusting.. I hope I can be a good friend to her." Aedida was the first person Nobi met from the Adventurer's League. She played at Nobi's naivety and quickly gained her admiration before offering her admission into the Free Company. They haven't talked much until recent days, where they've begun to bond considerably. At least, in Nobi's eyes. Aea Taharka, The Innocent One. Splinters. $🔃🔒 CHARACTER’s Thoughts: "Why did we have to go to Azys Lla? Why? I miss you.." Aea first met Niobe when Naih'a sent Aea to look after Niobe while she was still in-training. Aea and Niobe clicked pretty quick when Niobe started to talk as if she was a delinquent. Later, after the Phoenix Archive split up, Niobe also went missing for a time, but Aea somehow found her in the Gold Saucer. Gambling. Nobi saw Aea as a sister figure, much like Selphie. That is, until an occurrence in Azys Lla took her from them. Selphie Terrra, The 'Greatest' Thief Alive. $✔🔒 CHARACTER’s Thoughts: "She's.. Really loud." Selphie and Niobe butt heads a lot. But the two have similar views on a lot of things. Niobe may tease her but she hold a decent level of respect for Selphie. The two share a certain resentment toward Naih'a for how he had manipulated the two of them. She has recently rekindled the friendship after being separated a number of times. The Duke* The... Duke?. $✔🔃 CHARACTER’s Thoughts: "He's so cheery! Why is he so cheery? Why is it so contagious?!" Nobi doesn't quite remember where she met the Duke, but he has a history with Selphie, so there is a common thread binding them together. She doesn't know much of him, however. Naih'a Ithihoh, the Phoenix. ✖ CHARACTER’s Thoughts: "He's the source of all of our anguish. He's better off gone." Naih'a is one of her numerous saviors, but she has recently lost all respect for him. She feels that he is the root of everyone's problems in the Remnants, and wishes he be nothing more than a fading memory. For his sake, it would be best that the others find him before she does. Tomorluu Aqulaq, The Iron Dragon. ❖✖ CHARACTER’s Thoughts: "He's going to pay. For what he did to the Kobold, for what he did to us." Tomorluu, to Niobe, has always been a bit of a paradox. He's the driving force behind a lot of problems that have arisen, especially Naih'a's disappearance. She'd love nothing more than to see him dead, and she'll see that through to the end. Aileen Faiholm, The Homonculus . ❖✔🔒 CHARACTER’s Thoughts: "She's always helping me out.." Aileen is a Garlean Praefectus who came to the Remnants in search of Naih'a, with whom she shares a long history with. Not being able to find him, she turned herself over to Myath's custody willingly, and offered to share all she knew until she accomplished her goal. Her and Niobe talked often, and shared a lot of laughs and stories. Niobe saw her as an older sister. Little does she know, she has recently left the Remnants' captivity. And unbeknownst to everyone entirely, she was recently killed by a mystery assailant. Kace Eisold, The Demon Slayer. ✔🔒 CHARACTER’s Thoughts: "I love his stories.. I want to be like him. Err, in terms of killing Primals." Kace is an Ex-Garlean Legatus who is also the father to Aileen. Often found on the outskirts of Ul'dah, and more commonly reeking of booze, Kace spends a lot of his time assisting the Ala Mhigan refugees. However, Niobe only really visits him to here of his campaign in Doma, and how he had come to vanquish many primals. For this, she aspires to surpass his tales of bravado. Charla Evermist, Best Friend. $♥✔🔒 CHARACTER’s Thoughts: "I'm extremely glad I met Charla, and will quite possibly murder anyone who makes her sad." Charla is a recent recruit to the Adventurer's League. After a failed Valentione's celebration, Nobi returned to the Company estate in a down mood. Farah dragged her out of her room to join her and Aedida in giving opinions on Charla's outfits, and from there, it was an uphill story! They are roommates in Nobi's newly acquired cottage, and are in talks to form a musical group together alongside helping one another in finding love~ Farah Dahlgren, the Kindhearted Crude. ✔🔒 CHARACTER’s Thoughts: "She's quite crude. But she also really cares for us, despite not admitting it.. This should be a fun friendship!" Nobi hadn't spoken much to Farah in the cycle she has been a part of the Adventurer's League, until this recent Valentione's Day. Since then, the two have exchanged words a number of times, and Nobi is quite happy to call Farah a friend. Though, she's not against stirring the pot every once in a while.
