General

Given Name: Reppu Hijiri
Pronunciation: [REHP-oo HE-JI-REE]
Nicknames: Rep Rep, Princess
Place of Birth: The Far East, Othard
Current Residence: Hijiri Residence, Mist
Employer: Herself!
Marital Status: Mostly Free

Appearance

Height: 5 fulms 1 ilm (Taller than A'eyshn, HAH!)
Weight: Below Average (Damn spellcasters)
Body: Spending more time researching and developing her magical technique, Reppu has let her athletic build falter somewhat. She is still 'in shape', but not as lean and mean.
Hair: Mid back, if not longer at times. Very pink.
Eyes: Very green, with a subtle, but still noticeable, glow to them.
Skin: Pale/Fair
Scars and Markings: When using a lot of aether or becoming exhausted through the use, numerous alchemagical glyphs begin to glow, normally invisible, along her skin and scales. They tend to glow either white or green, depending on the use of unaspected or aspected aether.
Clothing: Reppu opts to wear a variety of robes or loose clothing, generally fancy attire to say the least. Be it Far Eastern, Eorzean, or even Allagan styled, Reppu loves to be 'hip' with what is 'in'.
Voice: Soft, but with energy at times. A slight Doman accent is present, due to where she was raised.

Physical Training

  • Fencing, some practice and lessons.
  • Archery, mostly hunting, some practice.
Preferences/Strengths:
Reppu's strength is definitely not in terms of physical combat, but when push comes to shove, she is very swift, and that is sometimes 'enough' to get her out of harm's way, no?
Aversions/Weaknesses:
Aside from flailing about and spikes of aether, Reppu is generally not adept at handling close-range combat in terms of physical application. At best you will find yourself being clawed and bitten repeatedly.

Magical Training

  • Defensive and Healing Magics.
  • Arcanima, very adept at Carbuncle summoning.
  • Astrology, learning the basics.
  • Divining, can 'read the future' and decipher fate of individuals.
  • Aetherically tuned, can visibly perceive aether.
  • Wind Aspected.
Preferences/Strengths:
If nothing else, Reppu's capabilities with aether are with out a doubt her greatest combat-driven strength. Manipulation and creation in terms of aether are very much within her realm of possibility. Ultimately, when it comes to aether, there is little doubt that Reppu does not at least have an idea of how to fight it, or how to use it.
Aversions/Weaknesses:
For all her aetherial might, Reppu is not very versed in elementally aspected aether of any type beyond Wind and Water. Thus, this leaves her poor in terms of conjury and thaumaturgy. While she understands the arts, she is not capable of replication them in any significant manner.

Crafting

  • Alchemist, from potions to texts to magical implements.
  • Novice Goldsmith
Preferences/Strengths:
Alchemy is something that runs in the family, and so it runs through Reppu as well. Her knowledge of goldsmithing is fledgling, but enough to do her own designs and detailing on anything she makes with alchemy.
Aversions/Weaknesses:
Anything that runs off magitek technology, or machinery in general, is doomed to failure in Reppu's hand. An odd curse, as it were.

Personality (Character Diamond)[1]
No credit for the use of diamonds! Info here. Enjoy it if you use it!.

IDEALISTIC PURSUIT - Walking the high ground is important to Reppu, and finding the 'good' in what might be, rather than what is. Unless proven otherwise, she is more likely to view something positively. So long as something is trying, if capable, the ideal values of that shine over any perceived or potential flaws. However, Reppu is not blindly idealistic, and is very capable of knowing when 'enough is enough'.
LOYAL FURY - It is exceedingly difficult to lose the loyalty of this particular individual once it is claimed. Although this can often land her in trouble when it comes to opposing sides that she has become friendly with, Reppu's loyalty is one of her defining traits. True loyalty is being able to speak what you think is right and what you think is wrong, and she often will. Should those she has come to trust and love be under any risk, her normally kind demeanor and thoughtful approach, is instead immediately replaced by a near blind-sighted lust for retribution and justice.
CRIPPLING LONELINESS - Unlike many who may pursue a life of magical academics, Reppu does not do terribly well on her own. When left to her own thoughts for too long, crippling loneliness begins to overwhelm her current thoughts, leaving her in a state of instability and risk. She will almost always get more done with at least one person by her side.
REACH OUT TO THE TRUTH - Never stop asking questions. Maybe it is just hard to satisfy her, but Reppu is an extremely inquisitive individual, always looking for new paths, and the answers to the questions that rise from them. Taking the first opinion is robbing yourself the opportunity to know 'more'. And although she may not always be outspoken in terms of her desire to know more, she is always gauging what is being said and done.

Likes and Dislikes

+ Incredibly fond of sweets. Is easily charmed with the use of chocolate, especially!
+ A lover of rolanberries and honey lemons.
+ Personal pleasure and inner peace while listening to falling rain or running water.
+ Few things are better than a windy day, especially in a windswept plainsland.
+ Absolutely adores when people acknowledge or call her 'Princess'. 'Reppuhime' is especially pleasing
+ Easily calmed by the offering and drinking of various forms of tea. Except spiced tea. That just makes her get devious.
+ A quiet evening of reading or fond company is all one really needs.
---
- Incredibly dislikes when people demand respect.
- Insulting herself or her friends ia a one-way ticket to sudden violence.
- Blind loyalty is just as bad as someone actively trying to kill her.
- Most bitter foods, although bitter tea and chocolate are A-Okay!
- Egotism. There's only enough ego to go around, and a Princess gets it all!
- Xenophobia. Being an exile is hard enough as it is.

Some people are born unfortunate. Some people are born for greatness. And still, some are born for a purpose beyond their control. Every step of Reppu's conception was carefully calculated, foreseen, and ultimately planned numerous years in advance. Not a single second was to be wasted. She was a means to an end, a tool to a goal needing completion.

Born and raised in Othard, Reppu lived a very social first five years. She was purposefully included in nearly every and any activity a young girl could be involved in. The pursuit there, ultimately, was for her to be beloved and trusted in her own community, and within neighboring Doma. Upon her fifth namesday, however, this all was destined to change.

Sealing her emotions and binding her thoughts, Reppu's first successful kill was initiated shortly after her namesday celebration. And from then on, the bloody consumption of innocent souls would begin. Within her body housed a growing legend, a stone that would make her maker's greatest wishes and dreams come true. But this little crimson bead required much to grow, to be sustained. Her body was a vessel, a means to an end.

Her mother, Rika, was well aware of this process. It was her grand pursuit, after all. She wanted this enough to use her own progeny, something she could easily manipulate the fate of with little questions and even less resistance. However, such a process was delicate. Breaking your tools is never a way to see work completed, and thus Reppu was led to believe she was still living a normal life, mental conditioning through words, alchemy, and magic.

As she grew, so did the stone. And as they grew, so did the toll of lives forced upon her. Not everything was so bad, though. A young elezen boy, a squire to an Ishgardian Knight, would periodically visit from time to time. Far Eastern goods and traditions were a growing curiosity in Eorzea, and this too was ultimately part of Rika's foreseen plan. All squires wish to become knights in their own right one day, and why not lead them to believe there is a princess to protect in turn?

Still, these child-like fancies began to take their toll on Rika, whom until now simply saw her own flesh and blood as another means to her own ends. Her own desires, her dreams, her wishes. Soon, her heart began to beat with warmth. Her thoughts began to stray, her ambition faltering.

Now, she began to understand what 'love' was. And this is when she first began to realize her first, and greatest, error; using her own daughter.

For Reppu, the horrors she was forced to commit would be deafened and blinded to herself. Children she played with, adults she met. Few were safe from this lust for blood, this desire to grow, to take control. But it was not her own will in play. The stone grew faster than she did. The host was being consumed as well, slowly but surely. And this, too, was part of the plan.

On the dawn of her fifteenth namesday, Reppu stood within the lonely cell she had taken many lives in. Her eyes were hallow, her heart beating less and less. The stone within her pulsed red, taking over. It acted much like an organ in it's own right, solidifying itself in where it 'belonged'.

Elsewhere, as Dalamud began to drop closer and closer upon Hydaelyn, the crimson light of the fake moon pulsed in the sky. Sometimes, you cannot foresee every outcome. As the aether of the entire planet began to distort, to shift due to this celestial body looming closer and closer, a brief moment of clarity fell upon the young girl.

"Hear. Feel. Think."

In one moment that would shatter every foreseen expectation, Reppu's consciousness briefly returned. In her cell, she faced not another victim... but herself. The child-like innocence that had been sealed, the wonder, the need to dream, and to be, standing before her. A bloody knife was within her own grasp, her eyes focusing on herself. The last thread that need to be cut. The last sacrifice to the stone pulsing within her body.

Memories raced through her mind, fleeting and fledgling as they were. A young squire stood out. Then children, people she had good times with. Futures she had stolen. Parents left distraught, and soon devoured as well. Even if she could barely understand the difference between right and wrong, she knew one thing.

Darkness. She knew darkness. Her vision began to fade, and familiar crimson warmth began to drip from her fingertips. The knife had been plunged into her own chest, striking deep into the stone that threatened her own heart. Her first choice, a decision taken into her own hands. Even if it would be her last, she wanted to at least, for one moment, define her own path. Her own course. Even if it was simply to take her own life.

Rika was never known for emotional outbursts, but at this moment, she screamed. She screamed in horror, as her own heart ached. Her ambition abandoned, in favor of what she had come to see as her priority. The cell doors flung open, and the fleeting life of her own daughter being brought into her own arms. She rarely cried, but right now she could not deny the tears flowing down her cheeks.

"You wanted this, you know." A sultry voice speaks. A figure, clad in a fancy Far Eastern garb, stood at the door of the cell. She had a bemused look on her face, her eyes void of any emotion other than cruel intentions. Similar yet different, the darkened scales of her body revealed her heritage opposite of Rika's own; a Xaela staring down a Raen. "Her life was the last that was needed to complete the stone, no? Congratulations, Rika. Claim our lovely prize."

Rika's arms gripped the chilling body of her daughter. Her eyes were filled with grief, which stained down her cheeks. Her teeth grit, and her neck twisted. Her eyes focused on the cell door, which suddenly screeched with pressure. A gravitational well formed, bending the metal and sealing the door shut. Her voice was strained, but Rika managed to speak still, "Not like this... not anymore."

The dark-scaled woman had managed to avoid being crushed by the well of gravity, her expression turning slightly, one of mild concern. "What are you planning to do? You cannot mean to..." Before she could even finish, Rika's body was slowly becoming consumed in aetherial light. The light glistened off her white scales, and in turn the scales of her held daughter.

"Ten years... if not more. It can hardly make up for it all... but I will give my daughter the life she was denied. And deny you, and myself, this stupid ambition." With affirmation, the motherly Raen pressed her palm to the knife wound, her eyes closing, a soft breath coming forth. "Sabatieru." The only spoken word audible, as hushed prayer followed suit.

Rika's body began to glow brighter and brighter, as the aether around her slowly began to consume her. As one hand held clasp to her daughter's chest, the other moved to gently tap the dying girl's forehead. A brief smile, a true one amongst many lies. "Allow your destiny to rest in my hands but a moment longer. Sei Ten Teishi." Symbols would swarm around her own body and her daughter's, as time itself seemed to come to a halt. A few precious seconds to save a fleeting life.

"... This should be a fair trade, no? Take my life, and grant this wish." With final words spoken, a single tear would drop upon her daughter's forehead, a seal of water in place. Rika's body would disperse into shimmering strands of aether, that would be consumed into the very device she had created. The blinding light shielded the radical changes being imparted upon her own flesh and blood, a final attempt to keep her daughter safe from those who 'knew'.

And then, the light faded from the cell. Mother and daughter lingered within no more.

Five years would pass.

"Oomph!" A sudden cry, as a rather robust carbuncle rolls itself into the napping form of it's master. With a yawn, Reppu sits up, gently nudging the fat blob away from her. Blinking, she quickly feels over herself, touching her furred ears and tail most prominently, before traveling up her body, and clasping over her chest. She looks at her own hands afterward, pausing, her face contorting. "... What a strange dream."

Jumping to her feet and shaking loose grass off herself, the immediate breeze of La Noscea hits her head on. A small grin forms, a hand shielding her eyes as she looks around. Limsa Lominsa was not far, and it was growing about time to go.

"Come on, Kuru! Enju is going to get worried sick if we stay out too long!" With a wave to the robust carbuncle, the Miqo'te girl begins to wander back toward the ivory towers before her. And rolling after her was her loyal companion, contemplating what next to eat.

Family

Mother - Rika Kishin/Hijiri (Deceased)
A Far Eastern alchemist and magical protege, Rika was destined for greatness. So much so, she pushed to take destiny into her own hands. Originally obsessed with progress and her own ambitions, the end of her mortal life finally brought her some compassion for other people.
Father - Unknown
Reppu has never met or known of her father. Likely just an anonymous donor.

Friends and Acquaintances[1]
All information here is OOC. Please treat it as such!

Aysun Demiir (Best Friend/Sworn Partner) - Few people are regarded as highly as A'eyshn is. Someone who has managed to stand nearby throughout nearly every trying, hard decision, deserves special recognition. Reppu's feelings for A'eyshn are known, but kept from from becoming a problem. The Seeker is engaged, after all! All said, a very platonic and healthy relationship.
Camille Everardi (Good Friend) - Although sometimes flighty due to her own pursuits and obligations, Camille is someone Reppu can still regard well, despite some rocky history between friends and such. The hyur's piano playing can often soothe Reppu's soul.
Cartie Grimshadow (Friend) - Odd, but friendly. Cartie's void-touched history has Reppu wary these days, but she knows Cartie is a nice individual all said.
Costia Demora (Friend/Missing) - Despite her disappearance, Costia was always someone Reppu had great admiration for. Wherever she is, one can only hope she is doing well.
Enju Abbagliato (Trusted Friend/Oathbound) - Loyal retainer and friend, Reppu has known Enju longer than most people. Although they can sometimes be 'smart' with each other, she trusts few people as much as Enju. She tends to 'overwork' him if only to keep the Elezen in shape, knowing that the future is not going to be kind to either of them.
Eva Ianeira (Friendly?) - Although it may seem otherwise, Reppu does regard Eva positively. She simply wishes the 'matron of Crystalline' would devote full time to her children.
Fenix Darkblaze (Trusted Friend/Partner) - Fenix DARKFIRE is a good man! He is well liked by this Au Ra, and his overall stoic demeanor, intelligence, and kind disposition has him a favorable individual to be around.
K'hylia Fhey (Friendly?) - Once incredibly close, the tension between A'eyshn and K'hylia has it seemingly bleeding into the relationship K'hylia and Reppu had. Still, Reppu has a fondness for this Seeker, and enjoys her company. Just, another strained thing.
R'das Sahazrh (Friend) - A machinist and apparently a skilled swordswoman, R'das is very amusing to be around. Her constant flirtation and romantic interest is noted! Often worth fond company.
Turk Kalahai (Friend) - Although not having worked together often, Reppu regards Turk well, and wishes to do more with him in the future!
Yashaix Ki'lari (Reversed) - Once lovers, mates, and now... strained, to say the absolute least. Reppu still holds Ki'lari close to her heart, and wishes the Keeper could find some solace and peace within 'the light'. But so long as their positions are opposed...

Enemies

??? Far Eastern Group ??? - A group of individuals well aware of 'the truth' within Reppu, and are actively seeking it.
