Character

General

Sukina Cassady is a strong young woman who only recently began to call the shots of her own life. She considers herself an amateur at swordplay and practically everything else, though she looks to change this. She generally tries to emulate those she looks up to in some shape or form and has a strong desire to protect those in need. While loyal to those she trusts she has no fear of speaking her mind, for better or for worse.

Appearance

Sukina is a young woman standing at about 5 fulm 9 ilms. Though on the slimmer side, she's fit from all her constant traveling and adventuring. She has one bright green eye and one deep blue eye, inheriting a color from each of her parents. Her hair is naturally a light brown but she keeps it dyed black with hints of dark blues coating several strands. She wears a silver necklace around her neck that appears to be two feathered wings stretched out to their full wingspan.

Behavior

Sukina is typically very friendly with most others, but is very protective of those she feels close to. Those that she feels insults, annoys, or belittles her allies will very quickly find themselves on Sukina's bad side. However, she will still aid them even if she detests them unless they've become some kind of threat. She typically enjoys jesting with others as it was a luxury she hasn't had in the last five years. She's typically very easy to read as she finds it hard to prevent her face from reacting to situations as they come her way. On top of this, she tends to give obvious physical tells that reflect her mood. She tends to be very fierce and focused in combat, a trait she picked up from her caretaker. She may still banter with her opponent but if the battle becomes difficult it's likely she will never speak a word.

Combat

General

Sukina has a small amount of skill with White Magic, as her mother was an accomplished Conjurer. She learned only a few skills from her mother before the Calamity occurred. She inherited no combat skills from her father as he was a doctor. Sukina learned how to truly fight following the Calamity after she was picked up by Zelia, who she refers to as her caretaker. Sukina began to learn swordplay from Zelia upon her twentieth birthday. However, once Sukina had grasped the basics, Zelia urged her to venture forth on her own. Though Sukina hadn't learned as much as she would've liked, she decided to listen to her mentor and began to travel on her own.

Lover

At present, any romantic interests are unknown.

Friends

Sabathius Kath'Lani -

Sabathius is a fellow member of the Tomial Order. Sukina has latched herself onto him feeling she has much to learn from him in swordplay. Sabathius sometimes reminds her of Zelia as she observes the two have similar types of confidence. Sukina garners great respect for Sabathius as a person and will often listen to him first if she finds several people talking around her at once. (Not uncommon for the Tomial Order.)She has a great desire to impress him as she feels he has become a mentor to her. She is most impressed by his skill in combat and strength of character.

Shido Itsuka -

Shido recruited Sukina into the Tomial Order a month after she started traveling on her own. She thinks he's a good person, though not serious enough for his own good. While she doesn't think highly of Shido's combat style, she was glad she was exposed to it to help prepare her for the road ahead. She does enjoy bantering with him as she finds him to be a rather amusing wild card, unsure of what he'll do or say next.

Hitari Senjougahara -

Sukina has a great amount of respect for Hitari since for awhile they were the only two females in the Tomial Order. She was unsure of how to react to Hitari's initial impressions of her on their first sparring day, which wound up with her saying nothing. She feels Hitari is a bit distant despite her attempts to reach out to her on certain occasions. Hitari is still a bit of a mystery to her, but she feels that will pass with time.

Ragnar Eisenberg -

Ragnar isn't how Sukina would expect a Highlander Hyur Warrior to be like one bit. However, she was pleased by this as she finds Ragnar to be surprisingly wise, encouraging, and friendly. His seeming humility also surprises her considering how often the rest of the Tomial Order compliments him. She feels she learns a lot about the world and being a warrior in general from him, which has earned him Sukina's attention whenever he speaks.

Yonene Yone -

A feisty Lalafell that joined the Tomial Order shortly after Sukina. When Sukina first met Yonene, the young Lalafell had trouble just staying on her feet. However, Sukina has watched her quickly grow into a surprising force to be reckoned with. Sukina enjoys Yonene's can-do attitude and empathy for others. She feels relieved to have Yonene in the company as she no longer feels she has to struggle alone.

Aerack Dawnshadow -

Though Aerack too seems to be learning his way around the battlefield, Sukina hasn't had much chance to talk with him. She gained a large amount of respect for him when he sparred against Ragnar, even though he was sure he'd lose. Beyond that, she still feels she has much to learn about the Miqo'te.

Enemies

At present, Sukina has no enemies.

Combat Crushes

(This section, despite the use of 'crush' is reserved for people that Sukina has observed in combat, and hopes to engage in combat at some point in time. This is not to imply attraction.)

Sabathius Kath'Lani -

Sukina has greatly admired the skill Sabathius commands with a blade ever since watching him fight the first time. She feels she has much to learn from the Midlander and often is excited at the prospect of dueling him, in hopes of learning more. The two sparred once and it was closer than she had expected, but she had been mentally preparing herself since the moment Sabathius said that they would spar. She gave it everything she had and more but Sabathius still came out the victor. Though the spar itself was close, she still feels she has a long way before she catches up with her mentor.

History/Timeline

Before Calamity-

Sukina was born in Ul'dah to a doctor and a conjurer. As such, Sukina developed an interest in aiding others. Her father taught her that everyone needs help, something that allows her to help even those she dislikes. Her mother taught her magic when she was twelve years old. She slowly developed her magic as she continued to grow older.

Calamity-

Sukina and her parents had traveled to Limsa Lominsa to aid the wounded, though it was under the guise of vacation to keep Sukina in a better mood. Sukina had been sleeping at the time Bahamut freed himself from his prison while her parents had been vigorously tending to the wounded elsewhere. She was awoken by a Hyur with white hair who was helping to evacuate the inn Sukina had been placed at. Despite Sukina's protests, the Hyur took her and several others inland as the sea was violently thrashing about. They took refuge in a cave as Bahamut attacked and Sukina watched on in horror. She survived the rain of debris from the resulting attack when their cave entrance was covered by several boulders.

The following day, the Hyur who had rescued her took her back to Limsa Lominsa in hopes of locating her parents but to no avail. Sukina sat and cried until the Hyur took her away, carrying her a long way from Limsa Lominsa.

After Calamity-

Sukina came to know her rescuer as Zelia Saerfina. Zelia began to look after Sukina in the months after Calamity. Though she was sterner than Sukina liked, she began to take solace in being around her. They traveled together for five years. They attempted to locate Sukina's family during the first year, but had no luck. Sukina clung to the thought that they lived despite Zelia warning her against it.

Zelia began to treat Sukina as her own, teaching her the life skills she knew. Sukina learned how to draw from Zelia, cook, and fend for herself. After noticing Sukina's steady hand at drawing, Zelia began to teach Sukina how to use a sword. Sukina was eager to take it up after having Zelia protect her for five years. Shortly after learning the basics of combat, Zelia urged Sukina to go out on her own. Sukina was resistant to the idea for awhile before finally giving in and accepting it. Zelia gave Sukina a necklace as a parting gift, telling her to "Take flight." with a sincere and encouraging smile on her face. She escorted Sukina back to Ul'dah, since Sukina had grown up there, and bid farewell. Sukina has not seen Zelia since, but thinks of her as often as she thinks of her parents.

Sukina traveled on her own for a little over a month before a certain Miqo'te asked her if she was looking for work. Shortly after, she joined the Tomial Order and has been affiliated with them ever since, accepting them as her new family.
