Character

"Beware a woman with nothing to lose."

General

To say Tasa was a curious sight was an assumption many had made before in the past. Elezen were rarely found wearing armor, even fewer with an axe on their back, but there she was, one of the finest examples to call the axe her own. She referred to Limsa Lominsa as her home, even holding the accent rather heavily when she fell onto her old ways.

Name

Given name: Arianne Leclerc, unknown to her currently.

Acquired names: Tasa, the name her adoptive father gave her. "Rhyzul," the last name of a hyur she had taken as part of a promise to the man.

Appearance

Tall, elegant, and strangely beautiful were terms used to describe Elezens. It was true these things could be used to describe Tasa, but her eyes all but shattered the idea. They were the eyes of someone who had seen and done many things in the past, things that may just haunt them to this very day. Even with her lips curled in laughter the smiles oh so rarely really reached the icy blue gaze.

Besides that, she is a typical warrior in appearance, usually garbed in plated armor with a wicked axe hanging from her back. Various scars of war linger along her body, and the only thing of note many can see is the curious markings along her face. They don't wash away in the rain, hinting to their permanent nature.

Speech

With a voice deep and weathered with age and experience Tasa addresses both friend and foe alike in a thickly accented tone. Through conscious effort and practice she has begun suppressing it, but at times she falls into her old ways of speaking like a sailor.

Behavior

To friends and allies Tasa is a boisterous, easy going woman who seems to have not a care in the world. She is kind, warm, and ever ready to jest and laugh with anyone she has the privilege to get to know. Still, this warmth comes with a chilling gaze to those whom would wrong her. She is certainly the kind of a woman to hold a grudge until any sort of wound is mended.

Motivations: Protecting those who need it, attempting to atone for her past sins and wrong doings.
Disposition: An easy going but fiercely loyal friend who isn't afraid to play rough and seek blood for blood.
Outlook: Grimly optimistic.

Positive Personality Traits

Protective, friendly, motherly, easy going, determined.

Negative Personality Traits

Vindictive, chaotic, stubborn, cocky.

Combat

While Tasa rarely finds herself in combat these days, the woman is a rather degrading opponent to have. Through countless years of training and fighting along with surviving a few wounds that would have felled a lesser man she has grown very confident in herself.

Commonly, when she doesn't respect her opponent, she toys with them, almost walking into strikes to give them the sense of winning before suddenly letting her opponent know they've walked into the perfect spot for Tasa to carve a hefty blow into their body. Her axe is much like herself, sharp and wicked.

If someone shows they can actually earn her respect Tasa is far more careful and calculated. At this point it become more a fight to control blood than to end her opponent. She rarely wishes to kill, but unfortunate accidents do exist. The more her opponent finds their strikes finding home, the stronger the woman seems to be. She is, in all senses of the word, a berserker whom thrives when she's on death's doorstep.

But should she find herself once again mingling with Death, the beast within is unleashed. Little can stop her, death blows merely causing her to flinch and her own swings wild and destructive. At this stage she's on a timer, and should she not end her opponent before it's up her body fails her and she would succumb to her wounds.

Tendencies

LIKES

Has almost an obsession with various kinds of juices.
She never turns down a friendly bout, her favorite is mud wrestling.
A cozy pub and a friendly wench are quoted to be things that she cannot get enough of.

DISLIKES

Young adventurers who consider themselves her equal.
The reckless and stupid.
Shady people.

MISC. QUIRKS

Despite frequenting pubs across Eorzea, Tasa rarely drinks.
Tasa has very poor reading and writing skills, pirates don't need letters!
Despite being an Elezen she actually dislikes Gridania and the people within it. She views them as detached from the real world.

HOBBIES/TALENTS

Tasa is quite the pub gambler. She loves cards and dice games.
She takes jobs for the miner's guild on occasion, she says she enjoys the 'honest work.'
Her skill with an axe is second to none, but she has almost zero combat talent in anything else.

Relationships

Family

Tasa never knew her birth parents. She was raised by a Sea Wolf pirate named Abylibhar for about seventeen years before parting ways. While the pair were close she sought adventure and has long since lost contact with the man. Occasionally she thinks to seek him out again, but his tendencies to deal with ports less traveled make such contact difficult.

Enemies

While Tasa's main enemies are anyone whom would be viewed as evil or corrupt, save for general threats against Eorzea she doesn't have very many of them for a woman so plagued by conflict.

Player Character Standing

Romantic Interest     Sexual Desire     Platonic Love      Good Standing     Neutral Standing     Poor Standing

Coatleque Crofte - While Tasa didn't think much of the highlander with the hard to pronounce name at first, she's very steadily been warming up to her. Be it the fact that Crofte has been showing promising signs of improvement in combat and has been one to share stories of darker pasts, Tasa has started to fancy the woman. She still hesitates at the idea of getting into a relationship, but the way Coatleque seems to look at her hints she might have to decide soon.

Barbarccia Valadis - If there ever existed a more love/hate relationship than this, Tasa is not aware of it. The pair became fast friends over a long night in a pub and soon forged an alliance withing the Harbingers that gave Tasa something to fight for when she needed it most. Despite a rocky relationship the pair have found some closure and Tasa's hatred has since left her.

Faye Covington - While Tasa rarely enjoys the company of nobles she has found Faye pleasant enough to converse with on the few times they've spoken. Recently working along side the monochromatic Hyur has given Tasa a chance to get a proper opinion of the girl. Still rocky, but Faye has earned some respect.

Bartolomeo Filangieri - It was within the same hour Tasa had despised and then respected the knight known as Bartolomeo. While at first glance the they seem like black and white, the pair share a strong sense of duty and honor. After spending more time with the man she's found him to her liking and readily considers his opinions on matters she is unsure of.

Jancis Milburga - A midlander whom Tasa has shared an occasional passing words with. Her soft words and eagerness to work together has earned Jancis a good deal of respect from Tasa with her modest appearance welcoming a softer eye from the Elezen.

Alveo Soulseeker - A brash and cocky Dragoon whom Tasa honestly couldn't dislike more if she tried. Their relationship is rather rocky, at times edging close to friends before falling right back into poor exchanges. While she saw a bit of promise in him in the last lately she's just waiting for an opportunity to humble the boy. He is the epitome of the type of young folk she cannot stand.

We just figured them all dead though, but it makes you wonder." - Older, higher class members of Gridania

"She is truly fascinating. Such a wealth of knowledge... and, ah, such darkness I can only fathom. Anything she says you should take heed of."

"She has had a truly hard life, and yet she remains. Her strength to press on is an inspiration, despite her... crassness." ~ Coatleque Crofte

You might know her if

You are a regular in Limsa Lominsa, especially The Drowning Wench. It's really hard to miss a large, green haired Elezen.

You're a member of the Maelstrom Legion. She is a Storm Captain afterall.

Your character is involved with or has connections to the underworld of the major cities. Some involved in crime and black market dealings still use the "Hound of Sarune" as a threat between each other.

History/Timeline

On the seventh day of the third astral moon in the year 1449 a higher class Elezen family was given a daughter. While her father silently cursed the Twelve for not giving him a son his wife was instantly won by the girl's striking blue eyes and highly curious personality. The pair were practically inseperable, a trait that would come to shift the path of their daughter's life.

With a few moons shy of a cycle since their daughter's birth the couple and two bodyguards met on the shores of a La Nocean beach with a Seawolf pirate named Abylibhar. A ruthless man who made a hefty amount of coin moving all sorts of delicate cargo. When a deal went sour Abylibhar and his men slew the four and took what they could from their possessions. The crying of a child brought the pirate's attention towards the now abandoned transport they had traveled on. Abylibhar might have had stained hands, but his personal code spared children his wrath. It was that day Tasa was given her name and taken aboard the ship.

For seventeen years Tasa grew into a fierce-some marauder under her adoptive father's tutelage. It was as if the young girl had melted the pirate's icy heart, his business turning far more legal in trade. She would never find out that the man she idolized had been the one that had murdered her parents. Even if she occasionally lay awake wondering why she was the only one like herself she had met.

On the eve of her eighteenth adoptive nameday the pair parted ways, Tasa growing tired of the life on the ships and wanting to see the world. While she had a pocket full of coin from her father it was quickly spent on things the woman hadn't much use for after the fact and the tired and hungry Elezen found at the base of a mountain by a young Hellsguard boy who brought her back to his village. After a night of merriment and food the village leader offered Tasa an ultimatum. Work her debt off or prove her strength. Her savage, unrefined style saw to the defeat of two promising young warriors and Tasa was given the opportunity to join their village. It was here she spent roughly ten years training and learning the ways of a warrior.

One day, after earning her garb and a properly forged axe, she departed again from a warm home and promising friends to seek adventure. What she lacked now in coin she made up for in skills and took up a few odd jobs to keep her hunger at bay. A year of honest work passed until she was found by a curious Lalafellen man who made her an offer she couldn't refuse. For untold wealth she only had to swear her allegiance to him and do as he wished, noting that her skills with the axe would serve them both well.

This was not a relationship that proved fruitful in the ways that Tasa had hoped. Over the next ten years Tasa would meet many men and women who would show her the other side of the coin, the bloodied, terrible side. It was at her master's bidding she sold her skills to people abusing them for personal gain, for revenge seeking, or merely because they wanted to watch someone bleed on the floor. Under threat of death for disobedience she bid her time until one event pushed her over the edge.

It was on a notable night, five years from the present day, that she carved through the ranks of her corrupted company. Freeing any who had kept their sanity about them enough to not stand in her way, she left a trail of bodies in her wake before adding the small man's body to the pile. It was then she vowed never to blindly follow another again. She had learned the hard way promises and kind words meant nothing and only actions truly spoke.

To this day she seeks to atone for what she had done, wipe away the innocent blood on her hands yet never forget those who's voices still haunt her dreams.
