[1] General Information . ❝ Quote. ❞ Appearance Hair & Eyes When Shane was born he had bright cerulean blue eyes, yet while the left eye has retained the color the right has faded and grown cloudy due to an injury that has completely stolen the sight from it. He is at least able to get it to focus along with his good eye, though it can see absolutely nothing. Said blind eye is normally hidden behind dark curled strands. Often mistaken as black as first (Often due to his black ears) it is actually a really dark brunette. Slightly curled and often messy from hair ruffles it tends to add to his youthful appearance. . Physique & Markings For lack of a better term Shane’s physique is runty. Short and scrawny he looks like he could with a few good meals. His build tells a good deal about his upbringing, stunted in his growth likely due to a rough childhood. As for markings the little Keeper is absolutely covered in freckles, on his face the majority seemed to be focused about the bridge of his nose and cheeks. They cover his body like some took a paintbrush and thoughtlessly flicked paint at him. Other than that there is no other visible scarring or markings. . Hygiene & Attire Shane is very well-kempt (except for the occasionally messy hair) he likes to be clean and bathes often. He tends to smell strongly of mint and soap. As for attire… Well there is a running joke that Shane had a closet full of ponchos of just different colors. And it is fairly accurate. He prefers the heavy fabric to snuggle into. Often wearing only oversized clothes, he is always dwarfed in his outfits... Almost as if he is using them to hide in. . Personality Psychological Profile Skittish and nervous, Shane tends to be wary and shy of strangers until he gets comfortable. Though even if he is uncomfortable he does try his best to be polite, especially since joining the Order. Typically wearing a meek smile it is rare to catch him full on frowning. Yet Shane is full of self-doubt and no short amount of anxiety, he is always questioning himself and the actions he takes which tends to lead to a good deal of hesitation when quick thought is needed. The only time this doesn’t normally happen is during medical treatments, one of the few places where he is actually fairly confident. When it comes to other people he has a really hard time trusting them, with a good deal of bad experiences, moments of pain, he has started to feel that many people are just wanting to use or hurt him. However, when someone does earn his trust he is incredibly devoted, many jokingly referring to him as a faithful puppy when he finds a person he has grow fond of. . Voice Shane’s tone is very quiet and soft, closer to a whisper than an actual speaking voice. Yet that tends to be due to the bad stutter that he suffers from. Catching on and stumbling over words, which leaves audible hitches in his speaking. . Mannerisms Shane can often be seen toying with the hems of his sleeves or poncho, always fidgeting and rarely completely still unless he is absolutely exhausted. He tends to hide behind his hands and the baggy sleeves of whatever he is wearing, whether he is smiling or frowning. Though he hides away his face often his ears are incredibly expressive as well, and very telling of his moods. . History Disclaimer: ((There is a good deal more of Shane’s backstory untold, and I wish to keep a good bit of detail quiet and tell them through rp alone. Shane is incredibly private and often these stories will not be heard.)) EARLY CHILDHOOD/ ADOLESCENCE The Beginning... Shane was abandoned by his mother shortly after he was born, the stories on why that he had heard were incredibly inconsistent and he is not sure which to believe, all he knows is that she no longer wanted him and chose to drop him off on the doorstep of an old Hyur woman along with a not containing nothing but wild gibberish, the only thing legible on the note was a nonsense word; ‘Ma’iitsoh’. It was this woman, Ula, who named him Shane after the son she lost at sea. Unfortunately Ula was an older woman and did not make it past Shane’s 7th nameday... It was the first time he truly experienced loss and found himself dropped off on the doorstep of an old school house by the last living remnants of Ula’s family. Confused, lost and feeling abandoned he found himself the apprentice/ live-in servant to the small school’s headmaster. It was a rough childhood where he lived with the rule of ‘a child is to not be seen or heard unless directly spoken too.’ Years of mistreatment left its mark and on his seventeenth nameday he ended up fleeing the old schoolhouse and never looking back. In Recent Times Moving Forward Bouncing from place to place, job to job, teacher to teacher. Shane found himself as a researcher's assistant, a mercenary, a medic and now he works as a medical assistant for the Order of the Ouroboros. Due to the secret want to get close to people Shane often found himself hurt or used by those who were supposed to be closest to him leading to a good deal of mistrust towards people, even those he seems to call friends. Yet upon finding the Order he seems to be growing a bit more comfortable… Well... At least towards those in the Order itself. It was here that he met A’ayzi who took him in as a student of Arcanima as well as several others who he considers friends. Slowly he is starting to build up a bit more confidence and shed at least of little of that distrustfulness nature.

Falling head over heels along the way. ♦✔Koh'si Jakkya An odd Keeper Shane met in an old tunnel in the Goblet, he has since been determined to get to know the other Miqo’te better. Considering Koh a friend, he constantly carries around the shark tooth the punchcatte gave him. ♦♣✔ Nehsa'to Yohri A doctor at the Order who Shane tends to look up to, though their relationship has been a bit rocky, he still considers the man a good friend. ♦♣✔ Kuina Bakuro A sassy Raen who Shane respects greatly for her confidence to stand up and say what is on her mind. Though he made a huge mistake and hurt her he wishes to make amends and become friends with the woman once more. ♣✔ Oyuu Dataq The grumpy leader of the Order. Constantly seen with his patented resting bitch face, Oyuu is a Xaela that Shane admires and respects. He also tends to worry a good deal about the Auri, seeing how much the stress of balancing personal and work life seems to get to him. ♣✔♦ J'takra Tia The jerkface husband of Oyuu. Though Shane tends to bicker with the Seeker he actually likes him and considers him an interesting friend. ♦🎵✔ Mholi'to Valrei A strange (and paranoid) Keeper that Shane has become rather fast friends with. Even though the concat would likely refer to their friendship flippantly, Shane knows they are close given the man's penchant to approach him for help or friendly company. Former Acquaintances ♦🎵✔ Eyvindr Koltrast A close friend of Shane’s, he has not heard from the Highlander, or his fiance, in sometime. Though it is likely the two of them are getting on with their lives there are days he still misses him. ♦✔ Ratio Menai An engineer who looked like she wanted nothing more than a good long nap. She was someone Shane considered a close friend until he lost pretty much all contact with her. ♦🎵✔ L'Rakha Tia A(n) pirate Engineer that was someone Shane considered a dear friend. Friendly, cheerful with unending energy, he was someone who always managed to make Shane smile or laugh when he was feeling down. He had lost touch with the Seeker sometime ago when he left the mercenary guild he worked for. It doesn't stop him from thinking the man his trusted friend anyways. ♦🎵✔ Giri Hara Pirate catte obsessed with Doma. Brother of Nhagi’ra, Giri was someone Shane had met when he was nothing more than a tiny kit. He had grown up hearing the pirate’s stories of the sea and the faraway lands of Doma and the Steppes. Something of an older brother to Shane, he desperately misses the man and wishes he could see him again. ✖� Nhagi’ra Bajihri Angry and confused. Nhagi was someone Shane thought he’d spend the rest of his life with, until the other Keeper completely broke his heart. Constant fights, harsh words and actions, often led to a lot of pain. Shane doesn’t hate him but there is still a good deal of anger and hurt there. Deceased ✔✝ Ula . A kind old Hyur woman, who gave Shane his name. After finding a baby Miqo’te dropped on her doorstep with a note containing nothing but gibberish she decided to take the kit in and raise him as her own. He gained his love of stories and adventures from her. She passed after a very short 7 years.

IC Inventory The following items are things that this individual carries on their person at all times. They are things that typically have high sentimental value, or of serious use to Shane. These are noted for pickpockets, and those watching them closely. This information is meant to be a prompt for insight and is not to be meta-gamed, though feel free to use this information if it comes up logically in RP (pickpocketing, a search, etc) with use of a simple /tell. ■ A simple topaz necklace often tucked away under his poncho, has a shark tooth attached to it as well. Topaz and shark tooth given to him by A’ayzi and Koh’si respectively. ■ A worn beginner’s grimoire given to him by A’ayzi for his arcanima studies. ■ A very old, very worn, leather satchel that oftentimes has a medicinal smell coming from it. Full of bandage, salves, and a suture kit used in his work as a medical assistant. Rarely ever sets this down unsupervised. ■ What looks to be an old old cloth bag vaguely shaped like a fish which he uses for gil. Given to him by a close friend when he was a kit. RP Limits I like to consider myself a flexible player who is willing to commit to a number of different types of scenes and role-play scenarios, but even I have my limits. If something is on the playlist, assume it means yes, as long as it's within the context of the current play or ongoing plot. No's are typically a hard no, and it means don't ask. ■ WILL I am always up for medical rp as well as like conversation and fluff. I am typically always up for the darker aspects of rp but that tends to fall more into the ‘ask’ category. ■ 'ASK Please ask before pulling Shane into darker and criminal themes. Also please ask before attempting to harm my character. I am typically okay with this stuff depending on who I am rping with but a bit of consideration before hand is awesome!
