Energetic and friendly, X'elo often comes off as charming and somewhat naive. He fits within the

general expectations of a bard, appearing showy and over the top.

X'elo is a competent singer as performer. He is versed in several fighting styles enough to fake expertise, but if actually engaged it quickly becomes apparent that it is a ploy.

TV Tropes

C̶h̶e̶w̶ ̶T̶o̶y̶: His first appearance had X'elo getting his head stomped in for rehearsing the part of a Garlean for a performance.

Butt Monkey: Things got a bit better, but he was then declared legally dead just as he was starting to get popular again, and then robbed by a bandit.

I̶d̶o̶l̶ ̶S̶i̶n̶g̶e̶r̶: No one remembers him due to his unintentional participation in The Battle of Carteneau.

U̶n̶k̶n̶o̶w̶n̶ ̶R̶i̶v̶a̶l̶: Previously Blade's Rival. No longer pursuing Blue, and he has gotten over the whole beating thing after winning a battle with his Rival. (Throwing sand in his face.)

Good Is Not Dumb/Let's Get Dangerous: X'elo is staggeringly competent in a pinch, and the sudden shift frequently surprises whoever has him cornered.

The Heart/Wide-Eyed Idealist: Considering the company he tends to travel with, X'elo is often the person arguing against 'permanent' solutions.

Hot-Blooded: Like a one man Tokusatsu performance, X'elo throws himself headlong into nearly everything he attempts. Frequently to the point of being a "Determinator."

Genre Savvy: "You know, in a play, it would go like..." Taking 'theater mimics real life' to an absurd level, he is correct a surprising amount of the time.

Heroic Wannabe: Still trying to live up to the fame he once had, X'elo often takes stupid risks to try and not only come out on top, but for everyone to know he did.

While X'elo is most comfortable with a bow, he has been known to take to his fists if engaged up close. He also has some skill with large swords and shovels.

Magic

Up until just recently, X'elo was unable to use magic in any form. As of now, he is able to create a small disturbance that is more of a 'blip' than an actual spell.

Crafting

The Miqo'te is a surprisingly good cook, and has been working on his sewing ability as well.

Due to some new information, X'elo is currently unsure of any existing family relations.

Positive

Sasha Rochester: X'elo became infatuated with Miss Rochester soon after their first meeting. She came off as charming and refined, and more importantly, liked his music. The bond between the two grew relatively quickly, and the two of them have had an on and off again relationship for quite some time. Recently the two of them have been seeing each other once more.

Kara Ashdale: "The Bandit Queen," or so he calls her. While their first encounter ended with in X'elo being robbed, he managed to get his gil back in their next meeting. Since they then have managed to patch things up, even if he still doesn't fully trust her.

Ibakha Dumet: While not the shiniest scale on the wyrm, the interactions they have had have all been positive. X'elo cannot help but appreciate the fact that she brings 110% to everything she attempts.

Misha Jinhri: Though no longer romantically involved with the miqote, they have remained friends. The two of them seem to both share a love for the stage.

Alta Ugund: Another of X'elo's previous targets of affection. She seems to have vanished off of the face of Eorzea.

Izzy Ringo: A mage that assisted X'elo in a recent crisis involving some voidsent. The two of them seem to have known each other previously though, and have had some trust issues with each other.

Blue Vann: Once the object of X'elo's one sided affection, he still considers her a friend and a reliable ally. Her conjury has kept him alive on multiple occasions.
