Charismatic, Honest, Paranoid, Lonely, Encouraging, Emotional
Information Broker, Acquirer of Rare Goods (and services, if the price is good enough) Working originally, and primarily, out of Coerthas - with fingers prying into many of the citystates...and a little beyond, if you are looking for something of a more troublesome quality to obtain for the right price and if paid for in a timely manner, Alaire is more than willing to lend a hand. It hardly matters who or what you are...with, of course, a few exceptions.

Alaire is a social creature, craving and seeking out the company of others even if it might simply be in some rank hole of a tavern or speaking with less than reputible folks on the street. He seems drawn by simply a necessity to interact, questioning others constantly on their own and themselves.While at first glance the well spoken man might come across and level headed and well put together, he is a deep tangle of emotions with a temper to match. The overly (but likely reasonablly) paranoid man is often good at holding back the extent of which these emotions, both good and bad, lay, but that mask is quick to fall under certain circumstances.

L I K E S

Gold, Gems, etc. -- Not necessarily 'gil' but any real type of riches. Gold and gems, shiny twisted bits of metal or shards of crystal which might not even have real value are treasured to him.
Social Situations/Meeting People. -- Alaire is a social creature, enjoying situations which allow him to interact and spend time with people he both might not know and those he's already acquainted with. .
Song/Music. -- Humming incessantly beneath his breath, some song playing out in his own mind, the music of others is very enjoyable to him infrequent as he finds it.
Drinking. -- Preferring harder liquor, he isn't often seen eating but a mug or glass will usually be found in his hand when out.
Cards. -- Games of chance are of no interest to the man, though when you mix a factor of skill and uncertainty something about that sparks his interest. A hand of cards, whether there are stakes at pay or not will draw his eye.
Fine Clothing/Jewlery. -- He dresses well, adorning himself in clothing both of good make and which is sturdy enough that he is able to travel wearing it. The bits of metal and golden, guilded pieces strung about his person, though, aren't quite so practical.
'Sarcasm and banter. -- Overly sweet or careful conversation can be quite dull, and a spark of defiance in speaking companion is absolutely wonderful (even if the other person might be crude or outright rude).
Magi-teck. -- The technology is greatly interesting, having been a passion of his for many years though he is reluctant to bring the topic up with many...
Ambition in Others. -- It doesn't matter if they have the ability or training or upbringing, the simple spark is something he finds an honourable trait. Often he will try best he can to aid simply because of ambitious speech and thought in others.

D I S L I K E S

Lying/Broken Promises. -- Keeping a Promise for this man is an absolute. He finds lying to him, contracts broken and promises shattered to be something morally reprehensible and takes it very personally.
Ishgardians. -- The conversation turns darker the moment they are brought up. His demeanor is decidedly different around those of Ishgardian descent - snide and condescending, oftentimes outright antagonistic.
Zealots.-- While he desires and praises ambition and opinions, zealots seem to spark a similar feeling as those of Norther descent. His control tends to slip around them.
Surprises/Unexpected Results. -- Having no say in the outcome and loss of control is difficult for the man. Chance and uncertainty spark the paranoia that he holds just below the surface of his person at all times.
His Problem/Weakness with Aether. -- Only speaking about it in the vaguest terms when someone else brings it up first, finding out about it usually because of their skills as a monk or within healing arts, he is deeply ashamed of the problem, referring to it simply as a "Sickness".
Haughty People.
The Shroud. -- Not only does this area of Eorzea cause him discomfort to be within, but memories surrounding the place are in no way pleasant and still hang heavy in the front of his mind.
Talk about scars. -- If simply in passing conversation he will brush it off, but when the topic is dwelled on he seems uncomfortable.

Quirks/Vices

Humming/Singing beneath his breath. -- A constant hum, soft and almost tuneless song plays out beneath his breath. It changes and rises in volume, dipping and changing even as he lives his life, but never truly vanishing. Infrequently the soft hum will rise further, usually only in solitude or when he's distracted, to song.
Skipping Meals. -- While he orders food most of the time when meeting with others, it's scarce to see him eat more than a few bites from the plate. He usually just nurses a couple mugs throughout the night, many times offering the food to others.
Toying with Jewelry. -- Fingers adorned with rings of metal and bands crested with gems play against strands of gold and dangling bits of gold as if having a mind of their own. When out of sight, he will often play with unworn pieces in the pockets of his coat, tracing the engraved metal carefully and repeatedly.
Emotional. -- While it may not seem it at first, the man is very much driven by his emotions.
Paranoid/Overly Private.
Drumming his Fingers. -- When his fingers are free of any bit of cloth or jewelery, he taps in time with the soft hum beneath his breath.

Abilities/Skills

Capable with a Bow and Rifle. -- He is a skilled hunter, good marksman even from a great distance. While he might be easily bested with a sword from a distance he is deadly.
Negotiator / Good at making Deals & Contracts.
Incredibly Good Memory. -- He does not forget. Good or bad, he holds people accountable and holds them to their promises.
Knowledgeable about Magitek. -- While he has no love for Garleans, he has a great deal of their technology and is fascinated by it. Many of the requested items of technological origin he obtains for customers and business associates are carefully inspected with small fixes by him.
Spirituality/Religion. Dragons. In a sense.
Politics. Is it anti-Ishgard and allow him to get his goods across boarders with ease? If so he's likely very in favour of the political arrangement. In truth it's likely more complicated than that but not a great deal more - he doesn't get involved deeply with politics beyond a vague affiliation with the Flames - and his desire for this is purely monetary in nature, of course, and not very involved.

Text Summary: Noodle (I'll do this at a later time)
Body: Very tall, even for an elezen, the man stands a good head above most and lean, though muscular all the same with a good deal of strength in his arms and upper body.
Skin: Dark, dusky brown skin makes it quite apparent he is a Duskwight. Marked all across his face and shoulders, though, are blotched flecks of even darker pigment, splashes of reddish freckles which dust over nose and cheeks and all across his chest.
Hair:Dark auburn with lines of deeper reds and black mixed along, an odd mix against his skin. His hair is well kept, with an apparent softness to it -- cropped in the back as though simply sheared off quickly and looking more like lambs fluff where it sticks out in every direction. It's as though if longer, his hair might curl.
Eyes: Vibrant, saturated amber.
Clothes: He tends to favour fine clothing, well made leather and material which hangs across his frame comfortably but with enough strength to it that the material will hold up well in a fight. Gilded metals are often found as buttons or other additions to the clothing, as are motifs of scales.
Jewelry: The man adores jewlery, usually wearing an abundance of metal across his fingers and hands, bands of silver and gold with gems inlaid so they shine. Frequently he will wear similar things around his neck, large medallions hanging there, though he is far less gaudy in the way of piercings and has nothing more than a single pair in his ears.

Distinguishing Features: A large scar runs across his right eye, huge gash that has been healed for many years but has pulled at flesh from whatever cruel wound made it. Often hidden behind hair without much thought or simply not spoken of even when referred to, the injury doesn't appear to have caused damage to the man's sight though how that was possible with the lid to his eye slashed through remains a mystery.
Other: nails are well-kept, manicured even despite the fact the he seems to put very little effort into almost any other feature of his person - hair hardly ever taken care of beyond well-washed and clothing (while of very fine quality and design) in a state of either disarray, very often being torn if not bought new. He seems to be content with buying new clothing quite often, with the exception of jackets which go through many repairs.
